[Music]
i was striving with everything that i
did including prayer
including worship including bible study
the days that i didn't feel like waking
up and doing my bible reading
i felt guilty about that
[Applause]
i was born in 1989 in a country that
used to be part of the soviet union
and one day when i was about four and a
half years old
my mom left to run some errands
my sister katie and i just stayed home
waiting for her and she never returned
but because we were left alone we were
taken to an orphanage at that point and
that began the new chapter of my life as
an orphan
one night i remember laying in bed
and i thought to myself
i don't even want to start another day
at this point i have never heard of god
i didn't know i could reach out to him
and pray
i heard the gospel message the first
time when i was 10 years old living in
this orphanage and we were called into
the gym to receive a special gift it was
a shoe box filled with with toys and we
heard that god loves us and that he has
a plan for our lives
just two years after accepting christ
i heard that we're getting adopted to a
family in florence south carolina
in 2013 i got married to stephen
praise god for this wonderful marriage
and such a supportive husband
and later on we had peter that was a
brand new chapter of joy in my life
growing up in the orphanage and
not knowing much about
being a parent i felt terrified as a mom
and
i felt like i didn't know what i was
doing
the difficulty
was actually reading in the scriptures
about this peace
of heart that we can have and
that the lord has given us you know
freedom
but i wasn't experiencing it
that's good
nice
good job
yeah unfortunately i had three
miscarriages
after
having peter and that brought this
distance with me and god because i
didn't understand
why
this was happening and i was trying my
hardest to understand that he works all
things together for the good but the
truth is
i was struggling and that was the lowest
point for me
i mostly just felt these things and
tried to overcome on my own
so one day i got the mail and to my
surprise there was a booklet from in
touch ministries and it's just the
quarterly guide that i signed up for
and i could not believe my eyes when i
saw the title in the center of the front
page
was simply freedom
and i felt so strongly that god is with
me he is literally the one leading me to
this freedom and immediately i realized
god is the one who defines me i can do
what god says i can do and i am who god
says i am god says i am free
and if you don't have that peace i would
go to the lord and ask him how can i be
set free because that is something that
you can experience every day
