Transcripts
so today I'm checking out the new is
black view color 8 a smartphone released
back in January and it's my second black
view product that I'm going to be
experimenting on my channel so if you're
interested in seeing what the black view
color 8 has to offer out the box stick
around let's get into
[Music]
it okay so here is the New Black view
color 8 as I said released back in
January and I've got the 8 gigs of RAM
model with 128 gigs of storage it's got
a whacking 6,000 mAh battery rear 50
megap camera front 8 megapix camera and
it's got a 6.75 in HD Plus
display pretty standard white
box and it's
a thick box so I'm going to assume that
it comes with the charger in the
box and a little cins as well so first
to come off is actually
a tempered glass screen protector which
is
nice paperwork and on top of that is the
phone with a case already on it I've got
the phone in blue but it's also
available in purple and black I'm just
going to take this off for the time
being and then just a few more specs on
that front bit as well and it's sort of
a matte plastic feel pretty standard for
this sort of price point volume rocker
and power button on the right SIM tray
on the left nothing on the top and then
the usual Gump 3.5 mm headphone jack
microphone USBC charging port and
speaker Grill on the
bottom and then you also get a charging
brick which is
nice and your USBC cable so here is the
black view
color8 like I said it's the second black
view
product that I'm looking at on my
channel after using the black view shark
8 check out that video if you're
interested in seeing that one so we'll
just boot her up as you can see on the
display there's a bit of a chunky chin
on the
bottom and there's a d drop Notch at the
top for the selfie camera
so if we just set up the phone so after
putting my Wi-Fi information in it then
obviously prompts you to copy any apps
and data from your previous phone but of
course if this is your first phone
you're not going to be able to do that
so for this video I'm just going to
click don't
copy just check in that
information hopefully it won't take too
long and then it prompts you then to
sign in with your Google account so then
of course once you've done that it
starts downloading your
information prompts you with all the
Google services so we'll just accept
that this is of course just the usual
bits and Bobs that you do with setting
up any Android phone select Google as my
web
browser set a pin you can set up the
fingerprint which I think I will do now
so we can just
see its responsiveness and to be
fair it seems to be pretty
good can be a bit of
a slow process getting all parts of your
finger the edges
Etc I won't do another one just yet Face
Unlock as well which I'm not going to
set up
yet you don't really need to on you got
the fingerprint Google Assistant
information etc etc just agree with all
that and then you can do a few other
settings in the
meantime so text information you can
make it smaller display size smaller so
we'll just do that just for the purposes
of showing you on this
video and then I'll just click next
leave it for that for the time being I
probably will make that text bigger cuz
it is a little bit small and then you
can switch between using the gesture
navigations or the three button
navigation I will do the buttons because
then it will take me through a gesture
tutorial which I don't need to
do and there is the black view
color8 huge 6.7 in display it is just a
720p display as opposed to to a 1080p
found on a lot of other phones at this
same sort of price
bracket but overall it's pretty nice
side bezels are relatively slim top is a
bit thicker and then of course you've
got that chin at the
bottom and there's not a huge amount of
bloat wear by the looks of it on the
color8 you got a kids
mode one
click wallpaper
and then you can go through some more
wallpapers if you want to but I'm not
going to so yeah it's a pretty sort of
stock looking version of Android don't
know if you notic
then that has a big color shift when
you're tilting the display which is
pretty common for cheap phones using
cheap displays the off-axis viewing
angle aren't particularly great but of
course looking at the phone headon is
absolutely fine and then I won't go
through every setting but if you just
jump into the settings I'm I'm going to
make that bigger because that is Tiny
hang on a
minute and we'll do the font bigger as
well so yeah you got the usual Bluetooth
Android auto bits and Bobs of course
you've got the display setting things
you can switch between light mode and
dark
mode as I've just demonstrated you can
change the size of the text and the
display screen orientation
lock screen saver mode which you can
customize to however you
want and then a few other bits there
wallpaper and customizations of course
and then you can go in system style and
really tweak how you want the phone to
look
and then you've got the choice of some
different icons or say some
two and then themes you can obviously
download more themes if you want
to there we go
categories so there's loads of ways in
which you can customize your phone let's
go back onto that a minute system style
I know we went on that already never
mind sound and vibration just the usual
stuff
setting your notification volumes for
different things your media your calls
Etc battery information so we're on
68% show battery percentage there so
like I said it's got a 6,000 mAh battery
in the color 8 which manufacturers can
of course just throw raw numbers at
phones like this to kind of hide poor
software optimization I'm not saying
that that is what black view have done
with this phone but that is something
that we can look into ahead of the full
review to see what the battery life is
like and then if I just
quickly jump into the camera let me grab
the
box just to
take couple of snaps of course I don't
expect the camera to be particular
ularly wonderful at this
price it's not too bad doesn't seem to
Capt a huge amount of detail on the
table and as you can see the color is
very different on the screen than what
the table actually
is but we'll see it in
more environments like outside Etc there
is a beauty mode portrait mode
video and a 50 megapixel High reses mode
if you want to do that and then if we
jump into more prom mode Panorama time
lapse macro and night mode so the second
camera is a macro camera which will
probably act as a depth sensor as well
for those portrait
shots and then you can jump into the
settings as
well so yeah there's a few bits and Bobs
that you can change date and time model
name custom
Watermark and then you can set a timer
if you
want so yeah there's loads of bits that
you can do to really change up how you
want the photos to come
out and there's options there to change
other things as
well so in a nutshell that's just very
quickly the unboxing and first
impressions of the black view color
8 of course I will be doing a more
in-depth review so if I just jump into
the settings
quickly jump into
system and system update so it's running
Android
13 and then jump into about phone and
it's running black views do
OS 128 gigs of storage
up to 2 GHz uniso t616 processor so it's
a very basic
processor 8 gigs of RAM plus 3 gigs of
extra Ram which is weird considering the
box says 8 + 8 so I don't know which one
it is 8 + 8 or 8 + 3 6,000 mAh battery
72p display 50 map main camera 8 map
front-facing camera
so yeah we'll see how the black view
color8 does I can't get over that color
shift
there but overall it doesn't seem to be
too
bad so yeah stick around for my full
review and I'll see you there
