😟 Introduction to Vectorizer.AI's New Pricing
The video begins with Juna from Detour Shirts expressing disappointment that Vectorizer.AI is no longer free, which affects her design process. She introduces her plan to compare Vectorizer.AI's results with seven free alternatives, showcasing a previously created vector as a benchmark. Juna navigates Vectorizer.AI's now priced interface, demonstrating the tool's functionality and pricing structure, and sets the stage for comparing it with other tools.
🔍 Comparing Vectorizer.AI with Free Alternatives
Juna evaluates the first two alternatives to Vectorizer.AI. She starts with DGB.lol, detailing its process and results, which she finds unsatisfactory due to the lower quality output. Next, she explores vectorizer.decom, noting its slightly better performance but still not matching Vectorizer.AI's quality. Through side-by-side comparisons in Affinity Designer, Juna demonstrates the inferiority of these free versions compared to Vectorizer.AI's crisp and clear vectors.
🤔 Exploring More Vectorization Tools
Juna continues her search for a viable alternative to Vectorizer.AI, examining SVG Converter and Autotracer.org. SVG Converter shows promise with results closer to Vectorizer.AI's standard. However, Autotracer.org disappoints with its overly complex and jagged output. Juna compares these outcomes in Affinity Designer, maintaining Vectorizer.AI as the benchmark for quality.
🚀 Testing Additional Vectorization Options
Juna tests two more tools: KD (kiddo) and Adobe Illustrator. In KD, she demonstrates the process of vectorizing and editing an image, noting its decent performance with limited colors. Adobe Illustrator is then explored for its image trace capability, with Juna adjusting settings to optimize the vectorization quality. Both tools show good results but still fall short of Vectorizer.AI’s superior quality.
🎨 Final Assessment and Illustrator's Capabilities
Juna wraps up her exploration with Adobe Illustrator, fine-tuning its image trace settings to improve the vectorization quality. She then compares the Illustrator-generated vector to Vectorizer.AI’s output in Affinity Designer, noting similarities in quality but recognizing Vectorizer.AI’s slight edge in cleanliness and detail. Juna concludes that while Illustrator offers a strong alternative, Vectorizer.AI remains the top choice for quality.
🆕 Discovering PhotoPea's Vectorization Tool
Juna introduces PhotoPea, a new discovery in her quest for the best vectorization tool. She tests PhotoPea's capabilities, adjusting settings to optimize the vectorization process. After downloading and comparing the result with Vectorizer.AI in Affinity Designer, Juna notes that PhotoPea performs well among free tools but still doesn’t quite reach the standard set by Vectorizer.AI.
🏁 Concluding Remarks on Vectorization Tools
In the final segment, Juna summarizes her findings, comparing all tested tools against Vectorizer.AI. She acknowledges the quality of Illustrator and KD as paid options and notes that while free tools offer decent results, they don’t fully match Vectorizer.AI's quality. Juna emphasizes the value of Vectorizer.AI for professional use, despite its cost, and encourages viewers to explore the options based on their needs and resources.

Transcripts
Hey everyone, it's Juna with Detour Shirts. The day has finally come Vectorizer.AI is not free
anymore and I've been one of the ones that have been using it uh for a very long time you may
have seen my video here that I did recently where it's part of my process that I go and find chat
GPT stuff stickers convert it to vectors and and then create my designs with it now we have to find
different Alternatives so in this video I'm going to share with you seven alternatives to vectorizer
Ai and we're going to compare uh one to one so I'm going to show you what uh a vectorizer AI
image is I I have one that I did before uh it went to um pricing or not free one of my gumbo
ones and then we're going to compare side by side uh each one and how it looks compared to Vector
vectorizer Ai and we're going to go to vectorizer Ai and kind of show you uh what they are now with
the pricing now so you can see is it worth it to buy vectorizer AI or use some of these other ones
uh the free ones that we're going to find in this video so without further Ado let's get to
vectorizer AI now and see what it's like currently all right so here we are on vectorizer AI it looks
very similar but you'll notice there's pricing here now so let's this is what happened so I'm
going to bring in the gumbo PNG that I got from chat GPT I'll just put it in here you see it does
exactly the same things um looks exactly the same but when you go to uh actually get it or download
it you'll see a price and I'm going to show you exactly how it works so just like my video that
I've shown before pretty cool right here right and so you can see before and after the original
and then the AI result the um the vector and you can see it's really good I I really like it that's
why I've used it but uh hit download and you hit download again and you'll notice $9.99 a month or
you can pay and buy some credits here so that that's the pricing right now so I want to show
you how good um vectorizer high is I'm not saying you should buy it orever you you're going to have
to um make that decision but I'm going to go into Affinity designer right now and do a side by side
right now between the original PNG and then the vectorized uh vectorizer AI SVG and then we're
going to see that and then I'm going to compare everything else in this video to it all right so
just for reference you can see here um vectorizer AI original PNG we can zoom in so you can see see
that it is pixelated the PNG right cuz it's a pixel um graphic and this one is not this is
Vector so you can see um you can click on here and everything it's a vector and I can come in
here and change the colors if I wanted to right I can pick this color and so on right so this is a
vector and you can see we'll just kind of look at it very smooth the color love the lines uh does a
little bit here but that's because it's trying to create that that same look there but pretty
pretty Cris in my opinion so we're going to see if we can find something else that can match this
we're going to but it up against each other I'm going to go to seven different um places seven
different apps that we can go and convert um svgs and see how well it matches against this this will
be our standard can we match this for free can we um do something anything like this at all um to
match this so um first one we're going to go to the internet and then look at different options
the first one will be D gb. LOL I've tried that one before and we'll see how well it does all
right so here we are D gb. lol totally free I use this to kind of upscale my images to six times I
I would uh recommend this if you don't want to go the uh Vector route you want to go the pixel route
this is a great way to upscale your design six six times so I'm going to hit get started here you can
see it does a lot of different things uh but it's free because it so let's get rid of those ads here
um let's see it's down here somewhere image to Vector AI image to vector and click on here you
see more ads uh which is what makes it free but I'm going to just drag in my PNG the gumbo PNG
drag it in right in here and I'm going to pick the highest level so 256 colors photo highest uh
detail level and SVG and hit submit now what it's going to do is it's going to put it in a cube you
can see U my files here you can see I've done this a couple of times just to test it out but this
will be the one right here um can see it takes 12 minutes to do and that varies uh basically
they want you to stay on here uh not only does it take a long time but you're going to stay on here
and look at some ads right so um I'm going to go back I'm going to download this one U when it's
done and we're going to compare it side by side see how well this is compared to the one that we
saw on Affinity design deser with vectorizer AI okay so we're back here on Affinity designer you
can see my vectorizer AI one and my dgbl LOL one now maybe I did the settings wrong but I think I
did it right with all the highest settings and you can see even from far away that this one is
not as good as this one but as we zoom in it gets quite clear that that is not the same as that can
see a lot of extra um lines and um colors and things like that and it's just very sketchy and
not smooth like this one is right here so I'm going to say dgb LOL at least the settings that
I did is not as good as vectorizer AI not even close to be something that I think you can use
instead of vectorizer AI so let's see if we can find another one we'll go to uh the internet again
and take a look so app number two is vectorizer decom now you might have SE seen the video from
Philip Anders that I just watched as well as uh I asked a bunch of people on my Facebook group
what they've tried and this is one that has been popping up um so we're going to try it out let's
see vectorizer instead of AI it's just vectorizer doccom makes me think that these guys got the
vectorizer name first not sure if the these are the ogs or AI was the ogs but we're going to try
this out here U I'm going to pull in gumbo the one that I did here and you can see pretty slick
uh it doesn't take too long to do and I'm going to just hit download right here and I and if you
can do a bunch of these at a time I just dragged in one but you can see there there's room to do
a bunch you can bulk upload these but I'm just going to do the one so we can see how it does
and you can download all which is only one here or you can download them individually by clicking
this download here and it's just going to go to your downloads as a SVG so I'm going to open up
this SVG inside of affinity designer and kind of compare it vectorizer AI versus vectorizer decom
all right back here on Affinity designer again and just from far away you can see that it's not
as clear vectorizer decom dgbl LOL still there but for some reason I think it's added a black
line or something when I come in here you can see yeah there's a black line and we could take
that out whoops wrong one we could take that out and let's see if that made it better no not that
much better um but you can see very jagged little better than I think dgbl LOL did but still not as
clean and crisp as uh ai vectorizer ai steel look how nice that is and then we got some Jagged edges
here so from far away it doesn't look that bad but as you get closer and closer I think these things
would show up on a print and you can see even the colors it added a bunch of different extra colors
here now of course this is a very complex um PNG and that's why I wanted to do it so you can see we
got lots of colors and shapes and odd shapes and so on so it may be okay for very simple um pngs
but as far as something more complex like this you can see that is just really crisp I didn't
touch up that that's how it came in but you can see that is not as crisp right so let's go to the
Internet try another one I got another suggestion from someone on my Facebook group so our third
tool for this video is SVG converter one of the members in my group uh suggested this one he's
used it before and we're going to try it here so all we're going to do simple is open up app
and you drag it in just like you do uh vectorizer AI you drop it in here and then you have a a few
things here that you could do here I'm going to do um not medium we're going to do high again um
background transparity on transparency on color on you could do this gray scale or black and
white we're not going to do this sharp I I like sharp edges smoothness yes I'm going to go High
um curve fitting I don't know I I think tights right on layers stacking stack unstack stroke uh
this is stacking of the colors in back of each other or do we just want to outline stroke I
I'm going to just try the default unstack and white lines no and SVG good and so I believe
the buttons behind me here let's see yes so I'm going to do vectorize here and let's see what
happens it's going to take a little while just like vectorizer AI does and it's going to show
you side by side just like vectorizer AI does let's see if it's just as good as vectorizer Ai
and I think it's pretty comparable wow okay so I'm going to download these and put it in uh uh
Affinity designer and see us side by side I think this is probably the closest that we've gotten so
far so download here you can see right there SVG and let's bring it into Affinity designer
and compare all right so here I am back on Affinity designer I got vectorizer AI versus SVG
converter.apk man so close but this one I think still has more light KN this is the closest we've
got to vectorizer AI but if you can look for a little bit here I'm going to scroll um very
smooth right I didn't touch this up again this is still very smooth it need to kind of smooth
out those areas whereas this one you can see just a little bit more Jagged um here but pretty close
and again little more Jagged here but pretty pretty close right and the colors um kind of
got it right there too like there's not a lot of overlapping of colors like we saw in some of these
other other ones here like that one especially but uh yeah I think this is this is so far our
closest to vectorizer Ai and it's still a vector so I can come in here and move things around right
and change it remove the background very easily um yeah not bad not bad for free especially for
free so let's see what else we can find I'll do some more searches uh on the internet and see what
the next one can bring all right so I did a few searches on the internet and found a couple more
and this one is autotrac dog or.org so kind of the same idea you choose your file here it's going to
open it up I already found it on my desktop the gumbo shrimp PNG or you can or enter a URL if you
want to if it's on there and you can see I'm going to change it to SVG no reduction which
means going to use the full 256 or as many colors as you need uh you can also do any one of these
uh smoothing I have I have these Advanced options open by default it's not open so you can show this
smoothing normal I'm going to go more detailed uh and then active ignore good and it looks like
it's like disabled but it's not it you can click on here and hit start so it's going to do it for
us and it's going to show you a preview of what it looks like um before we download it oh no preview
uh this can result if it's too large well that's fine uh we're going to download this one right
here it usually shows a preview um but we're going to download this one right here maybe because it's
too big hopefully that means it's a little better than what it usually does I'm going to bring this
into uh Affinity designer again and see how well autot Tracer dog did against vectorizer AI all
right so we're here back on Affinity designer auto Tracer you can see why it took so long and why it
was so big it made so many different shapes for this one color you can see right there if
I click on that it's like a puzzle that it made I don't know why it did it that way but that's how
they're doing it and you can see when you come up really close it's very jaggedy very jaggedy so um
huge huge file but also just tons of little like little pieces not very not very good um according
well you can see not very good according to me or anybody I think this by far is what you want in a
vector smooth nice not jaggedy um this is not what you want I mean this is a vector but some
vectors are better than others right less points less size like um this could have been cleaned
up but that's I think because of the drawing if this was more of a vector art it would have done
that better but this like you should not like do this you should not want to do this not only is
it too big it's going to make your files way big but it's just you know you're going to have all
these lines in it and so not not very good so um kind of bomb there I still think the closest we
got was SVG converter app uh I would put this if I was putting it in line I would probably put it
somewhere in between here right um I think this vectorizer decom is still better but not um not
better than that one so let's do one more search on the internet uh crossing my fingers let's see
if we can find something else and see what comes up so number five here I did another search on the
internet now um right away I'm not getting a good feeling about this one because it's so simple uh
it's called rerto vector.com and usually you know the other ones vectorizer Ai and vectorizer decom
and and SVG converter apppp had some really nice things to show you um how what it did and this one
does not so that right away I'm kind of getting that this may not be it but we're going to select
the image here go to my desktop um find that uh gumbo post here let's do this gumbo shrimp one uh
and it's going to convert it right there boom done I mean super fast which also concerns me because
uh you know how long it took for the other ones that did a good job so we're going to download
this and see what it looks like all right back here on Affinity designer and just as I thought
you can see um very bad pixelation kind of raster to Vector um come in here and it's super pixelated
super uh added some funky colors even like not even the right color I don't know where maybe
it couldn't get that color so it added this one I don't know but uh in my opinion not very good
not very good and we kind of knew that it was it took super fast uh and it came out got some funk
results here so I think as far as this goes um SVG converter app is my pick for a free version uh for
vectorizer AI but it does not beat vectorizer AI think vectorizer AI is still the nicest one so
um that's kind of the takeaway here do you want to spend uh $9.99 a month to get this kind of quality
or are you okay okay uh spending nothing for free and getting just a little bit less quality here
now I'm going to do I said there's seven and I'm going to try two more things and that is
something you may already have and that is KD and I'm going to use illustrator so first KD
we go there they can convert things to to Vector as well and remove the background and you might
as well if you already have it you could build in KD with the fonts and the graphics and everything
so let's try that uh and see what happens so here I am on kdd kdo um started a new project here and
I'm going to do the same thing I'm going to drag in that PNG that gumbo PNG here and it's going to
take a little while now just as um and and there it goes right here but what I wanted to say is you
may not want to do just because you can do this in kiddo kiddo already has Ai and has a lot of these
stuff I'm just showing you a tool that you can use if you're already using KD you may not want to do
this in KD but I'm showing you that it can do it in KD because why would you do these things so
um I'm going to do you can see I tried it out with some other things with some good results
here and I'm going to do background remover first because it can do that and it's going to know what
to delete so we don't have that fuzzy Edge and we don't have to vectorize that fuzzy Edge so
you can see right there if I color the background it is knocked out right so I'm going to put the
background back to white and I'm going to click on this and then do image vectorizer now I can
go like this and pick the colors I don't know if you knew that but you can come in here and pick up
to 16 colors and we're going to do that and see what it does with 15 16 colors remember some of
the other ones did 256 colors and so on uh let's see what kiddo can do with 16 colors and I'm going
to vectorize this image and see what it does again we're going to bring it into Affinity designer uh
can download this as an SVG if you want to and just so that we can see it side by side now not
bad uh you can see uh if I zoom in here and we'll zoom in to the other one but like not bad for KD
it just it did it like 16 even just with 16 colors now what's cool about it is you can see this color
right here uh inside of kle I don't have to bring it into Affinity designer but inside a KD if I
came here and picked a different color you can see that shrimp is changing colors to and I can change
it to that color of the other shrimp here that's already being used right so if I click on there it
does that and then if I pick that color um is it this one right here oh wait it's still um thinking
of using that color I'm going to pick that color now and then you can see that those things change
and so on so um yeah you can do that in kiddo so I'm going to um revert back command Z okay and
we're going to take this out I'm going to download this uh as a SVG just like the other ones are SVG
and it's U 1200 X 1200 but I didn't size it up I'm just going to do SVG because you can you can size
up an SVG I could use this in KD add text around it and you know save me some time or I could just
use kiddo's AI kdo has their own Ai and I could type in the prompt and get something similar to
so let's just um put it up against uh vectorizer Ai and see what happens happens all right back
here on Affinity designer with KD I dragged that the the SVG now you can see it doesn't have that
outline cuz I removed the background but if we scroll in closer we can see not bad right um
compared uh it's very similar to this one right here which is the SVG converter one you can see
in fact I think it actually is better than the SVG converter one you can see right here we got
some double colors around around the eyes uh this one didn't do that it's smooth smooth right there
so I think I think kiddo is actually better than SVG converter if you already had have kiddo and
want to use chat GPT stuff you could do that still not as not as clean you can see this is like very
smooth um this is still has some jaggedy lines but um yeah I I think it did pretty well considering
all the other ones that we have for free here uh not even close right it's not even a comparison so
um good job KD awesome awesome uh let's do one more and if you have illustrator which you may
not have cuz I'm using Affinity designer because I don't have illustrator at least I didn't have
illustrator but I do have illustrator now uh and I'm going to try out IM illustrator's image trace
and see how well can it image Trace something very complex like this with you can see lots of
different colors lots of different complex shapes we even have kind of this gradient thing going on
here or this pixelation thing going on right here how well can I do um to image Trace that and then
we'll compare it at that to vectorizer AI okay so here we are Adobe Illustrator 2024 using Creative
Cloud this is the latest illustrator here and I'm just going to pull in that PNG that gumbo PNG so
I'm going to grab it from my desktop Pull It in here and see what happens and you can see right
away it's asking for image trace or mask image because it knows that it it's a PNG not a vector
I'm going to scale this down just so we can have it fit in the in this here I'm going to hold shift
to keep it the proportional here just so it fits in there okay so first thing you might do is hit
this image Trace now if you do that it's just going to do black and white uh so I'm going to
undo command Z on here and I'm GNA do uh image Trace up here you can also go to the window and
go image Trace right here and pull this thing up um but let me show you what this does this will
give you a default kind of like this this preset default right here same thing uh and you can pick
those so I'm going to do that High Fidelity photo right there and it's doing a preview right now so
it's not doing it yet so this is the preview of it so we can start doing some different things on
here um tracing results without line so you can see what what that does um you can see all the
different ones I'm going to go in closer um how it's tracing it that's the outlines I'm going to
turn that off uh I'm going to do color mode you can see gray scale black and white of course we
want color um we can do more more um colors we can go up to 100 colors instead of 16 so it's
going to do that there uh kind of smooth curves and then um when you are done you can hit a you
can hit expand right here so um we got some uh advanced stuff here too um we can do Corners
more corners and kind of just play around with this to see like do we want it more smooth do
we want uh less noise all that kind of stuff uh and I think for the most part this looks
good I can zoom in and see what it's doing when we do this stuff so let's do that and let going
to you can see that that actually is not better so I'm going to do put noise
down and that's smoother right uh and then let's see Corners uh let's do 50
and we can I'm just going to do a couple more here so you can
see see that's that's a little bit more smooth so you can come in here play with it I kind of like
50/50 and no noise and stuff like that so this is what it's going to look like it's not there
yet but this is kind of a preview you can see the colors and everything so I'm going to hit expand
and I did it really fast once it new uh and then I'm going to go like that I'm going to copy all
of this here uh or export it sorry I'm going to export this this has an S SVG uh export export as
SVG boom and then we're going to do a gumbo well I'm going to do illustrator combo and just so we
can bring it into Affinity designer and see it back to back with the vectorizer AI so I'm going
to export this um yes that's cool okay and again I could play with this a little bit more but you
can see that's that's kind of how what it did um and and we're going to see that in um in Affinity
designer too now you wouldn't use Affinity designer and aobi illustrator I'm just doing
this so you can see if you're just going to do it in illustrator you might as well build the
whole thing in illustrator too just like with KD if you have KD you would probably build it in KD
okay back on Affinity designer one last time this is the last one number seven illustrator
so I brought it in here you can see um very nice um pretty good I would say comparable to probably
even better than KD around comparable I think it is probably the same as KD and and this one um SVG
converter they're probably all around the same but if I zoom in again you can see just um vectorizer
AI is just a lot cleaner whereas these kind of have Jagged edges right um but the colors great
um and I think everything else is is pretty good I mean not bad if you already have illustrator and
again I didn't tweak all of them maybe there's a a setting where you can tweak it that it will get
it even better um you can see it's kind of doing it right here the curves um maybe there's a way
to tweak it even better on infinite an illustrator I only did that one one pass at it but um not bad
if you already have illustrator I think why not use it you can you can vectorize stuff here or
you if you already have Illustrated you probably want to just draw draw these things um with uh
with your PIN tool and stuff like that editing my video for this uh and I heard on my Facebook
group that there's one more so I wanted to put this in uh this is a different day totally kind
of breaking in to this video so photo P I didn't know actually has uh image to Vector uh so let's
do this same thing U we're going to bring in the gumbo guy here uh with the shrimp boom so it's
that easy and what I didn't know is that it's down here an image so image and vectorize bit
map I I've never used this but uh let's see how it works you can see it does the the bit map just
like we said here and then there's some certain toggles here so let's try uh I think 16 is like
the sweet spot so let's do that and so the nice thing is you can see the preview here so let's
try some things out um I think coloring book might be a good one yeah you can see that that
moved here let's try reduce noise does that make a difference uh I kind of liked it with reduced
noise yeah it took out took out some things uh merge Colors Let's see I don't know if that made
a difference so you guys see a difference there I'm going to leave it on leave it on uh and then
I'm going to hit okay we can do polygon but I I think that's going to mess it up let's see yeah
yeah that's my thought so you can see it's it's not uh rounded it's like more square and as you
do more roughness it's going to I mean if you like this style that's pretty cool but that's not what
we're going for uh okay and then we hit okay and you can see it's pretty cool I'm going to download
it as a SVG bring it up against uh in up against vectorizer AI let's see uh file save as export as
uh SVG right here pretty simple I'm unchecking all of these things uh you could check that at Hidden
vectorized text we don't have any text so I think this is fine and it's still 1024 x 1024 going to
save to my downloads I'm going to bring it into Affinity designer and compare it like I did with
the other ones all right so here we are photo P vectorizer AI we're going to zoom in from far away
it looks pretty good um except for right here you know where the color is kind of match you can see
illustrator did that a little better and so did KD um but if we zoom in um you can see it's like it
did better than a lot of the other free ones out there um you can see nice and smooth the colors
uh I think the only difference is like the colors kind of overlap I think there's a black outline
here uh but yeah not as smooth as vectorizer AI again so you can see that's still the standard but
not bad I mean did a lot better than uh a lot of these other ones like I still think illustrator's
better KD's better but as we get over here SVG converter app it's uh not as good you can see the
pot um not as good there definitely better than rasterizer Vector U better than Auto Tracer in my
opinion um probably around here vectorizer decom although this I think this did a little smoother
the pot here but you can see there's some problems inside of there that I think the other one did
better photo and obviously that one's really bad so um we can try that out play around with the
settings in photo we only did this one time I picked 16 and and some of those other settings
so maybe there's some settings in here that will make this even better that the the colors will
kind of flow here so if you you've tried that out and found a good setting let me know for photo pie
so so that's it for this one um we're going to cut into the ending that I originally made for
this video sorry for the choppiness but I just wanted to make sure that uh photo was also in
here with all of these so here's here's the full set uh photo illustrator kiddo SVG converter app
rasterizer Vector autotrac vectorizer dcom and dgbl LOL try all of those if you have have access
to uh these other two I know these aren't free free but if you already paid for them they they
kind of are so yeah that's kind of a long video but I think it was really nice so that you don't
have to do all of this yourself you can see uh take it from me and see the different uh versions
of vectors all the different ways that you can get it free online now there's lots of other paid ones
out there that do a good job but as far as free I think uh these are here and if you already have
illustrator or already have kiddo I think those can be a good option too so it's basically free
for you because you've already paid for it so hopefully this was really helpful so you can see
the the difference it's too bad vectorizer AI is not free if you were counting on that to be free
but again $10 a month may not be that big of a deal if you're doing a lot of these um Vector ones
I think you can see it does a great job um with with the vectors and how it scales it so I may
be uh doing that uh if you haven't seen that video where I use vectorizes or AI when it was free you
might want to click on this one right here and you can see my whole process from beginning to
end from sticker chat GPT all the way to a design that I made in Affinity designer thanks again for
watching and as always guys keep creating and keep learning I'll see you on the next one bye
