cute
nice little uh
rosary
okay hey everybody my name is Casey and
I'm Dylan and uh welcome to uh fright's
Camera Action
[Music]
a new show that we're doing where we
talk about the creepy things that
happened on the film sets of your
favorite horror movies now you might be
wondering uh who are these guys well
we're usually behind the camera well
sometimes I'm in front of the camera
[Music]
mostly behind but um yeah we're the
camera guys yeah but I'm an actor so we
thought it'd be fun for us to host a
show talking about filmmaking and scary
things that happen in horror filmmaking
good one good start so we thought what
better ways to start this show than to
talk about one of the scariest movies of
all time The Conjuring
have you seen it yeah
of course I have not seen it
I'm too afraid to see it
I'm gonna edit that part out okay it was
2012 and director James Wan was in the
early stages of creating what would
become a horror classic the story of a
family terrorized by demonic forces in
their new home was based on the real
life experiences of Ed and Lorraine
Warren two paranormal investigators who
had worked on some of the most famous
hauntings of the 20th century yeah you
know those guys they were in the the
movie Annabelle
that's the same universe it's a
Conjuring verse you know we did a little
bit of ghost hunting herself oh we did
back in spooktober yeah can we uh can we
roll that clip oh what the [Β __Β ] was that
oh god oh sh okay I hope I don't have
nightmares tonight
you might say we are the modern Ed and
Lorraine Warren I think I got a lot I
give a lot of props to people who can do
that honestly because like
nope yeah that is a hard nope my friend
Jordan peel nope
good movie same universe I think this is
going well yeah it was good okay great
as the production got underway the cast
and crew began to experience strange and
unsettling events on set
lights would flicker on and off without
explanation objects would move on their
own and cold spots would appear out of
nowhere
but it wasn't until they started filming
in the basement of The Farmhouse that
things really started to get creepy of
course it was in The Farmhouse of course
it's in The Farmhouse that's the
scariest place it probably could have
happened yeah
yeah if I had seen the movie I would
know exactly what part they're talking
about you think uh you think you think
animals see ghosts you always see like
videos of like dogs barking
at like the corner of the room and stuff
so they were haunted by a pony ghost
is that how the story goes I think so
I've never seen it the basement was
where the family in the film had first
encountered the malevolent spirit that
was Haunting their home it was also
where the real life Warrens had
performed an exorcism on the actual
family that had lived there as the crew
set up their cameras and Equipment they
began to feel a sense of unease that
they couldn't quite shake like let's say
You're really afraid of like ghosts and
you believed in it and you're just like
a production assistant it's like the day
of shooting and they're like by the way
where you're standing
should we should we clarify whether or
not we believe in ghosts one two three
yeah I think
actress Vera Farmiga who played Lorraine
Warren in the film described a feeling
of being watched and followed by an
unseen presence
she also reported hearing strange
Whispers and voices that seemed to come
from nowhere
one crew member claimed to have seen a
ghostly figure standing in the shadows
watching them work
as filming continued the incidents
became more frequent and more intense
doors would slam shut on their own and
crew members reported feeling hands on
their shoulders or hearing footsteps
behind them even when no one was there
some even claimed to have seen the
ghostly figure of a woman in a white
dress floating down the hallway
I don't know I feel like like you never
get like a clear video or
like picture or anything of like a ghost
but like this happened on a film set and
nobody captured that
what are they going to do pull the red
out you know hmm
look at that over there while we're
filming the same dishes dishes on the
side no pan it's a it's a film turn wow
pan
but perhaps the most disturbing incident
of all took place during the filming of
the climactic exorcism scene actor
Patrick Wilson who played Ed Warren
suddenly found himself overcome with a
sense of dread and unease he felt as
though something was trying to take over
his body and struggled to maintain his
composure as he delivered his lines
for me
they're paid me sex Gail
Penny what sex scale daily rate sag
scale Screen Actors Guild that's that's
not what I scale is that what you heard
if you're getting paid the big money if
I was getting paid the big big bucks
what I would do is say this goes
freaking me out I think we're gonna have
to take this uh the shoot real slow
we're gonna have to add a few more days
you know what I mean
don't you just get paid every day well
for like you know
what are you gonna say
yeah I mean the A-list probably have
like a a contract that says this is the
amount of money no I've never had that
oh well
when the film was finally released in
2013
audiences were terrified by the story of
the Haunted Farmhouse and the Demonic
spirit that had terrorized the family
Within
but for the cast and crew of The
Conjuring the horror was all too real to
this day many of them refused to speak
publicly about their experiences on set
and the events that took place during
the making of the film remained shrouded
in mystery and speculation speak
