with three gun Kenzie excited to be back

dude glad having you all right and today

we're going to talk about something that

you're very familiar with and that is

top five competition AR-15s out there in

2024 now it's not just going to be 2024

all the way up to 2024 you know what who

knows competition better anybody oh

thank that's B on Kenzie all right so

what do you think okay so I have a

caveat that people aren't going to like

right why because I actually don't

believe that any rifle stock from the

factory is ready for you or for the

individual right I actually think that

every single gun you could run it stock

for a bit right but at some point you're

going to want to modify the trigger the

buffer system the muzzle break you're

going to want to change it to you that's

the caveat to it cuz you're right cuz

they are basically it's a one siiz

fitall to a certain degree exactly and

then you got your own preferences

trigger and the stock placement cheek

placement all that stuff exctly 100%

okay but I guess we can talk about that

one siiz fitall by default which one is

better than the other one top five yeah

all right you ready for this you got

your number five y let's do it okay

there's a history to this one my very

first rifle I ever bought very first

rifle I ever competed with was actually

the Daniel Defense V7 okay okay I mean

Daniel Defense right um and that's why

people know the name they know it's

accurate um so this is a great rifle out

of the box so I mean you are going to

start with a mil spec trigger and that's

why I said you're probably going to want

to modify it but this gun 18-in Barrel

is going to shoot great um we're not

talking about the folder you know

obviously that would be on the gun but

AR15 is great um Ambi controls you do

have an oversized bolt release on this

side which is really great in terms of

controls okay Ambi charging handle and

the Ambi safety on both sides now why

that's important these days is there are

times when match directors will make a

stage and force you to shoot left-handed

left shouldered you know or if you're

going to say dump this in a dump barrel

and grab the next gun maybe you're

flicking the safety off on the other

side just depends so I really do like

Ambi controls for that reason okay so

that actually does translate into

performance it do okay it's not just a

thing to so it's not like a so Jason

would fail big time if he did control

that's right that's right good go so

pick atin rail You Know M your favorite

scope mlock handrails you are going to

want actually this is perfect that it

has it a sling Mount of some sort

because some matches require you to run

a rifle and a sling okay um before you

transition to it so I love that these

have mlock rails you know all what do

you like to uh attach your sling for a

competition so for competition I

actually have my muzzle up usually

because if I'm moving with three gun the

muzzle can get in the dirt right and so

I always have it muzzle up but two point

slings so one in the stock and then I

always have it as high up on the

handguard as possible actually cuz it's

top to bottom slung I got a question for

you when you reload does that sling get

in the way for you not necessarily okay

no I mean I dry fire practice uh UNS

slinging and loading and that's pretty

difficult but that's why I practice it

gotcha but that's it yeah and for the

mlock do you prefer mlock on a

competition rifle yeah we don't use well

I say we 99% of the competitors don't

use uh the key we use mlock okay so this

is your number five and Daniel Defense

is known to be a combat right very very

um reliable uh rifle but most recently

we did our own little AR-15 challenge we

picked our own favorite AR-15s and Jason

picked a Danel Defense M4 okay now check

that video out and you'll see the

accuracy of it because we all expected

something different and it performed a

little different that's all I'm going to

say I'm not going to spoil it to you

check that video out it's so great

choice thank you and number four okay so

we have this is not the exact rifle but

we have the American defense

manufacturing rifle now they have two

that I'll just mentioned they have like

an ultra light tactical competition gun

and they have an 18-in special purpose

rifle okay so that's like an 18-in is

going to be a little bit more accurate

um but American defense manufacturing

makes a incredible firearm um you wouldd

have a 16-in barrel if not uh the 18 you

got your mlock rails which we already

talked about in the last one but my

favorite controls man right it's my

favorite rifle Ambi controls are a game

changer so you have mag release and bolt

release on both sides of this firearm

which is absolutely incredable um

there's only so many companies that are

making Ambi controlled lowers well Al

people do make Ambi W but not all not

all amb are equal no they do it they do

it right so I love this gun um amb be

safey as well and charging handle and

they really really are reliable guns

very accurate barrels um so this just

impressed me from the start and you'll

see a lot of guys running these in

competition these days and they get back

to Shooting Sports they donate uh guns

on the prize table and stuff and so

that's where you know I started

supporting those guys yep ADM is one of

my favorites out there I've been running

this gun in the last round a year and a

half pretty much actively that's awesome

I honestly we I purposely don't clean it

because just want to see if it fails I

just want to see where and it doesn't

and we've been shooting suppressed it is

one of it's my favor blue carbony up

here you know I can tell you shooting it

thousands of rounds if ADM is watching

this I am one of your biggest fans so

guys really great job I love this thing

and I will continue uh running this

thing so so you're approve I approve and

I I'm so glad it made your life okay

good CU you're the expert so I feel bad

that's you know they're all equal in my

mind in a way but it's hard yeah hey if

it made the top five list all of them

are winners good job guys hey we're all

inclusive here everybody gets a

participation throphy right I got no no

okay oh sorry okay and what's your

number three okay not the same gun but

we've got IW on the table here so two

guns silver what I just talked about

though they have a 16in competition the

Zion 15 yeah and they have an 18-in

special purpose rifle so it goes back to

you know the person that's carrying the

gun is it heavy for them do they want

the extra inches for accuracy it's

really going to be dependent but iwi

makes a really great rifle um very

accurate a lot of a lot of things that

you don't see um on the special purpose

rifle is they actually did a timy

trigger in there so they already put a

competi yeah for on the 18 inch timy is

one of the best out there yeah so that's

awesome Ambi um charging handle this

doesn't come with the Ambi safety so you

can install that later if you want to um

but you still have the mlock panels and

everything like that and uh yeah so IW

is there a competition one with the timy

trigger that is that Ambi that's going

to be the 18in yeah special purpose

rifle okay all right that's very good I

mean I wi we we know that tavores right

they've seen a lot of uh and I run a Gil

too they're accurate yeah one of the uh

one of those companies that actually

make guns that are like tanks yeah

actually work so fantastic and again I

know I go back to this but iwi supports

all the shooting supports donates guns

and gals and um just they and they

actually shoot all the guys that run the

cameras take the photos they're actually

competitors so I do appreciate that

about some of these companies is they

actually shoot and they innovate and I

love a company that actually innovates

so that's uh very good good pick we go

pick okay so this is actually my

competition I can tell okay so what is

it this is the Stag Arms three gun

competition rifle though so actually

from stag you have amb controls the

safety the charging handle and it

already comes with the hyperfire trigger

from the factory that's like a $300

trigger okay can I try that trigger

quick all

right out you got the magpole furniture

here um yeah 16inch Barrel so very

accurate gun I've shot this on the clock

many many competitions and we shoot out

650 yards this thing hammers so very

impressive build you will see I changed

the mag release button to an extended uh

mag pull release I have such a struggle

reaching mag releases so even my

shotguns have this release just because

my f can't reach it so very good so I

mean stag is known for making very uh

awesome rifles affordable very yeah

they make a lefty version in this

they're one of the very few guns or

manufacturers that make Lefty yeah Lefty

ejection for it yes so you can get you

know just if you wanted their um upper

but yeah the full build they have

literally this three gun model in their

right hand and left-and configuration

and I did change the muzzle brake

because again I said at the beginning

you're going to want to change some

things but they do ship with the uh V6

gamma still a good break you know but

this thing probably I mean with this

thing 5.56 this thing doesn't kick at

all so soft so short stroke buffer

system lightweight bolt carrier group

and then we have the unrivaled muzzle

brake here so unrival Technologies um

tunable to me and then the ballistic

Advantage bolt carrier group is in here

um so yeah this is tricked out but again

the fact that they include the Ambi

controls the hyperfire trigger is a game

changer and why I put this at number two

because it is ready from the factory to

go very good and why do you put that

little trigger pad thing on so it's a

trigger shoe and it's really up to you

you don't have to run these um you can

just run the flat uh shoe itself um but

I like it cuz I have it set perfectly to

wear my finger lace every single time

and I have it on every single gun all my

pcc's all my shotguns and my rifles has

the same trigger so that way any type of

long gun I'm picking up I go the same

spot gotcha really good pick and guys

before we move on to number uh one we're

going to have a little honorable mention

but before we even do that I'm going to

is because it's not an AR-15 from the

factory this is my very first custom

AR15 build that I did with me and uh my

brother Scott nunam very first build I

picked out every part what year

2018 okay so it's beat up up this is the

very first gun I've ever used and it

immediately has the hyper fire and the

trigger shoe here already set up of

course um I actually start out with Luth

AR stocks because when we were talking

about the adjustability I can set this

cheek height up to me perfectly in my

scope height also I actually loan this

rifle a lot to new Shooters to come

shoot with me and so they can easily

lower this and set up for them and we're

not having to change stocks who paid to

this thing um so this is actually a

company in Alabama um the the armory in

Alabama I don't know you

heard they make awesome suppressors too

but anyways they painted it for me I

said Stormtrooper white and cuz were you

the ejection Port oh yeah blast

them funny what's this muzzle device

thing yes okay so similar to the unrival

Technologies break that we saw in the

last one this is a tunable muzzle break

this is the rage um tactical Break um so

the other one you have different set

screws that you block basically the

gases from coming out this one uses

washers so they come with I think five

or six washers depending on the caliber

that you choose and each of these do you

see how they're angled and they have a

formula so you can direct them yes so

you set up the formula depending on if

you are right-handed or left-handed or

your ammunition or if you pull the rifle

a certain direction you can counter that

with this that is so cool is really neat

so wow um extended mag release again

Ambi safety controls Ambi charging

handle I mean it's it's going to be the

similar across the board as you see when

I get into the competition builds that's

really important to me what's the length

of the barrel this is different so this

is 17.1 It's a flute ballistic Advantage

Barrel not a lot of people will run um

longer barrels but like 17.3 or 18 is

great and the fluted for me made it a

little bit more lightweight for me to be

able to run with it and what kind of

competitions did you do with this thing

three gun three gun three gun shooting

out 650 yards with this thing very

accurate okay all right yeah autor

that's pretty cool all right let's move

beautiful right but what the hang on is

kind of weird yeah so this is the jp5 it

is the match ready competition gun they

do have a 16in is what I'm talking about

now they do have an 18inch but the 16in

is very different the JP handguard you

haven't seen before I first time First

time seen it so they are circular they

actually make pccs this way as well um

but it is an overly aggressive texture I

absolutely love it um for the circular

handguard when you're going off

barricades we're used to the C clamp

right so it's a little bit smoother and

then more texture so that handguard is

super popular and then there's two

different muzzle brakes that they make

they have the competition series muzzle

brake which is on this gun or have you

seen The Recoil Eliminator oh that

little fat little thing like a very

looking thing but round super awkward

very loud when you're behind the gun

it's great if you're beside it it sucks

but um JP actually in the guns that I

showed the the white rifle and the Stag

I have the JP silent capture system

buffer spring so that is really nice for

recoil reduction I know that buffer

system is pretty cool yeah yeah and then

I have the adjustable gas block and so

JP you can build your own gun but really

they are the performance rifle Builder I

will say for AR-15 so that is why it's

my number one and they're uh what's the

they're a little pricey too right little

pricey you know 2400 is probably where

you're stting and then you go up from

there but they're worth it when you're

at an elite level and you're trying

to level want you don't want anything

less than $2,500 like 2500 is an entry

level thing yeah horrible to say that

it's like so bougie but so there's your

rifles guys yeah well no it's really

good I mean listen when it comes to

competition you got to check out three

gun Kenzie also your Instagram is three

everything and then rical up Podcast as
