Transcripts
ecoflow recently gave the Delta Pro the old HWĀ and like the girl that made that line famous theĀ Ā
Delta Pro 3 has been taken the Internet by stormĀ lately we're lucky enough to have had our hands onĀ Ā
this thing for a little while now we've put someĀ miles on it or at least enough miles to give youĀ Ā
guys some honest feedback about it because youĀ guys know here at the lab our opinions cannotĀ Ā
be bought and sending us a portable power stationĀ is not going to sway us to leave a positive reviewĀ Ā
we have enough power stations we don't need thisĀ thing tiny baby doesn't want to left it [Music]
Eco flow actually made a really subtle statementĀ with the Delta Pro 3 this is the first portableĀ Ā
power station that they want you to feel likeĀ it's an appliance for example sounds like a dryerĀ Ā
sounds like a washing machine it feels comfortableĀ and familiar but if you just want an applianceĀ Ā
that dings and Bings you can get one for a lotĀ cheaper and the real question is is the DeltaĀ Ā
Pro 3 worth upgrading to or buying if you're notĀ already in the market and on top of not wantingĀ Ā
to lie to you guys we also want to save you guysĀ some money so if at any point you are interestedĀ Ā
in checking out the Delta Pro 3 we have someĀ links in the description down below paired withĀ Ā
some pretty decent coupon codes and though thereĀ is actually quite a bit that we do like about theĀ Ā
Delta Pro 3 but before we jump into the results ofĀ our testing as well as some of the things that weĀ Ā
just really don't like about this unit we're goingĀ to hit you guys with a super quick two-minute tearĀ Ā
down to get everybody familiar with the brand newĀ ecoflow Delta Pro 3 first up this thing passes theĀ Ā
tiny baby lift test it weighs 113 lb definitelyĀ got a little fatter than the Delta Pro used to beĀ Ā
but it is also a slightly bigger unit and it hasĀ a slightly bigger battery so this unit has a 4,Ā Ā
96w hour battery bank it's got a 4,000 W pureĀ sine wave inverter which does split phase so it'sĀ Ā
a 120 or a 240 volt inverter with an 8,000 W surgeĀ capacity in terms of charging this unit has a veryĀ Ā
standard 1,800 watt AC input it makes a reallyĀ weird cricket sound when you're charging it in the
wall in terms of ports on this guy eego flow wentĀ ahead and for no reason spun all these ports uh onĀ Ā
their side you have four 120 volt outlets on theĀ front you have this the first time we saw thisĀ Ā
was on a Zender and we thought Zender was justĀ out for lunch putting that on a power stationĀ Ā
that they were putting out in the US market IĀ don't really know who uses that style plug butĀ Ā
we have it we also have a traditional l14Ā generator plug on the front and behind theĀ Ā
little trap door on this side we have a trueĀ dedicated 30 amp plug and on the other side weĀ Ā
have another little flap door which has all ofĀ your 12vt options this has a 12vt 5 amp BarrelĀ Ā
connector it has your Anderson ports at theĀ bottom as well as a remote plug for a screenĀ Ā
no 12vt car socket on this unit though comingĀ around to the back you have your AC input andĀ Ā
you have two solar inputs one is a a high voltageĀ input and one is a low voltage input there's twoĀ Ā
expansion battery ports and there is also an AC inĀ or outport which lets you use the 240 volt plugsĀ Ā
of the Delta Pro Ultra kind of brought to marketĀ in terms of the screen on this guy this is a newerĀ Ā
design it's still clean it shows you everythingĀ you need to know and when it comes to the appĀ Ā
ecoflow has a great app that already exists it'sĀ St all of its design cues from Apple and Tesla andĀ Ā
it works great and they just added this to theĀ roster of units that's compatible with that appĀ Ā
and right now the delta Pro 3 hit the market atĀ $3,700 basically which is actually not bad that'sĀ Ā
what the Delta Pro hit the market at before weĀ tell you all of the quirks and things that weĀ Ā
just don't like about the TTA Pro 3 we're goingĀ to start with the results of some of our testingĀ Ā
starting off with efficiency this is a 4,000Ā WT inverter we ran a 3,650 is wat load on itĀ Ā
so it was pretty close to the top end and seeingĀ that it's a 4,096 Wat battery that load shouldĀ Ā
have lasted about 67 minutes it actually lastedĀ 60 minutes which is pretty good considering weĀ Ā
ran this thing pretty close to the 4,000 WT limitĀ fans were working hard you could hear it runningĀ Ā
so it's about 89% efficient which at that high endĀ is not bad in terms of charging you can obviouslyĀ Ā
charge this thing multiple ways we went ahead andĀ just did the one most people are probably going toĀ Ā
use 120 volt AC port in the back accepts 1,800 WĀ of charging should have charged in about 2 hoursĀ Ā
and 20 minutes minutes it actually charged inĀ about 2 hours and 54 minutes not terrible but itĀ Ā
did say on the screen 2 minutes remaining for likeĀ 15 minutes towards the end so when you see thatĀ Ā
go finish doing what you were doing don't be meĀ sitting on the floor waiting for it to be done inĀ Ā
terms of surge capacity for this unit it's a 4,000Ā W inverter with a surge of 8,000 WT the 8,000 WSĀ Ā
it prefers it to be a blip just really quick it'llĀ do like we had it running 5100 Watts so just passĀ Ā
and it was cruising like it had no problems withĀ that it did it for almost a minute uh which wasĀ Ā
really impressive like we were both like wowĀ this is really good but as soon as you stepĀ Ā
that up to even 6,000 Watts it just shuts rightĀ off this will probably be closer to like a 6,000
surge yeah see it doesn't even doesn'tĀ even bite on that when it comes to theĀ Ā
sound test though this thing's actuallyĀ pretty quiet under about 2,000 Watts itĀ Ā
advertises some deel rating it's prettyĀ quiet over 2,000 Watts you can hear it
it sounds way better than the Delta Pro usedĀ to sound but it's nowhere near the Delta ProĀ Ā
Ultra the Delta Pro Ultra is like dead quietĀ it's medium it's not bad the solar input onĀ Ā
this guy works it's very annoying we'll get toĀ that later amperages and volts line up thereĀ Ā
we didn't really have any problems getting theĀ rated solar into this other than having to haveĀ Ā
it run in two different directions and one ofĀ my favorite tests is the pass through test ifĀ Ā
you have something running off of this unit andĀ you plug it into the wall can it power what youĀ Ā
had running and then put the rest of the powerĀ into the batteries you'd be surprised at theĀ Ā
amount of units that cannot do that so thisĀ actually passed the test for both solar andĀ Ā
AC you can have it plugged into a a panel arrayĀ and still run your load the extra is chargingĀ Ā
your batteries and you can have it plugged intoĀ a regular wall outlet and still run your loadĀ Ā
and the extra is charging your batteries when itĀ comes to 240 volt test though which I was prettyĀ Ā
excited to do uh you you cannot run 240 andĀ 120 at the same time I'll literally show youĀ Ā
right now you turn on the 240 side if you goĀ press 120 it shuts off the 240 side not thatĀ Ā
that's a huge deal but like the f3800 is able toĀ do 240 and 120 at the same time but when it comesĀ Ā
to 240 this thing obviously if you have the rightĀ adapter it is good for running your dryer you canĀ Ā
run your oven or your stove with a 4,000 WT it'sĀ kind of hard usually an oven is just over 2,000Ā Ā
and a stove is just over 2,000 if it's a biggerĀ burner so this is not a Delta Pro Ultra or anĀ Ā
f3800 it's not meant to run the bulk of yourĀ loads not going to love your air conditionerĀ Ā
could probably run your heater depending on howĀ big it is we took it to some extremes to figureĀ Ā
out what can the 240 volt on this do obviously inĀ a house most things don't surge when you turn onĀ Ā
your oven it doesn't spike it just turns on uhĀ but when we run stuff that surges off this itĀ Ā
really really doesn't like it we tried to liftĀ a car on my car lift it's only a 2,200 WT liftĀ Ā
so it should be well within the range of thisĀ unit I'm hopeful that's all I'm going to say I'm
[Music] hopeful I think we know how this is goingĀ to go if the Hoist didn't work the compressor isĀ Ā
almost a guaranteed no it's a 3,000 WT compressorĀ the surges compressor surges are insane but forĀ Ā
the sake of testing a that sounded so close justĀ can't handle that initial surge it's just too longĀ Ā
for it it's not that it's too high of a surgeĀ rating it's just too long that it needs it toĀ Ā
Surge for so can't do that and when it comes toĀ things that we like about the Delta Pro 3 theĀ Ā
first one for me is that it's kind of the mostĀ instinctually built unit that I've ever playedĀ Ā
with and what I mean by that is like the powerĀ button up here is not labeled power and when IĀ Ā
pulled this thing out of the package I justĀ instinctively pressed this button right hereĀ Ā
and it turned on they know what people want theyĀ know how people think and they've been able toĀ Ā
lay it out a way that just makes sense and IĀ really like that I also really like speakingĀ Ā
of the design of this thing the sliding doors onĀ the sides this is a lot more again instinctive andĀ Ā
just kind of thought out than the old ones thatĀ you had to pop out and you had to smack them withĀ Ā
your hand to get them to clip back in cuz theyĀ never wanted to go back to where they came fromĀ Ā
this one is like literally like a van door anotherĀ huge upgrade is that the expansion battery is noĀ Ā
longer a duplicate unit it's no longer on WheelsĀ it's now a stackable little quarter size p pigletĀ Ā
that goes on top makes a lot more sense it savesĀ a lot more space and it just looks way betterĀ Ā
probably one of the biggest and most importantĀ to me if I was putting myself in the shoes ofĀ Ā
like you guys like a consumer thing with thisĀ unit is it actually works with other old LegacyĀ Ā
ecoflow product there's a lot of people freakingĀ out because the Delta Pro had the original smartĀ Ā
home panel that it worked with Delta Pro UltraĀ got the smart home panel 2 and now this worksĀ Ā
with the smart home panel 2 not the smart homeĀ panel one so it kind of you in that way if youĀ Ā
already bought the smart home panel one but thisĀ unit is compatible with Delta Pro Smart batteriesĀ Ā
recognizes them on the screen and it doesn'tĀ advertise it but it also works with Delta MaxĀ Ā
expansion batteries which are probably the same asĀ Delta 2 expansion batteries if you have the littleĀ Ā
adapter piece that goes It's meant for the DeltaĀ Pro I put a Delta Max expansion battery on thisĀ Ā
and when I plugged it in the screen registeredĀ the extra battery percentage and it workedĀ Ā
just fine it's kind of cool that if you haveĀ existing products already you can use them withĀ Ā
this new Delta Pro they didn't completely changeĀ everything again like they did when they releasedĀ Ā
the Delta Pro Ultra and speaking of the Delta ProĀ Ultra it also works like I said earlier with theseĀ Ā
uh AC inout port things these big connectorsĀ that go on the back of the unit that the DeltaĀ Ā
Pro Ultra kind of launched into the market so thisĀ one you can plug it directly into a generator andĀ Ā
charge it with 240 it also works with the 50 ampĀ Hub uh which is kind of cool so you can pair twoĀ Ā
of these units into this Hub and then you can runĀ like like a 50 amp plug right out of the middleĀ Ā
it'll give you 8,000 Watts basically out of yourĀ 50 amp plug and the last thing that we really likeĀ Ā
about this unit goes right back to the ecoflow appĀ like I said already it's pretty standard it looksĀ Ā
like every other ecoflow app interface they're allĀ the same you can go on here you can turn on yourĀ Ā
AC 240 plugs you can turn on your AC 120 plugsĀ you can turn on your 12vt plugs you can do allĀ Ā
the normal stuff on here but what's really niceĀ is you can also go in here you can go to scheduleĀ Ā
tasks and you can basically set this unit up toĀ Peak shave without needing it plugged into a smartĀ Ā
home panel so what I mean by that is you could setĀ a time on the app for when to turn the AC outletsĀ Ā
on and off and when to accept solar or when toĀ accept AC power during what time you can have itĀ Ā
set to charge only during the night so it fillsĀ at when your electricity is at like its cheapestĀ Ā
point then you can have it disperse only duringĀ the hours that your electricity is at the highestĀ Ā
point it helps you shave a little bit of money offĀ your electricity bill every month which is reallyĀ Ā
cool and you could do it directly from the app youĀ don't need a smart home panel or anything when weĀ Ā
start talking about things that I don't like aboutĀ the Delta Pro 3 there's a few that are tied forĀ Ā
like the most annoying and I'm going to start withĀ there is no 12V car socket on this unit Why why isĀ Ā
it like this that may not seem like a big deal toĀ you I just got back from a camping trip with theĀ Ā
Delta Pro I had my fridge plugged into the 12vtĀ socket on the side because it's a DC socket soĀ Ā
it doesn't have to use as much power converting itĀ to AC if I were to run my fridge off the front andĀ Ā
there's many appliances for camping trailers allĀ that kind of stuff that run 12 VTS what's annoyingĀ Ā
is you're going to have to start running them onĀ AC which is going to just end up taking more powerĀ Ā
because you're also running that power through theĀ inverter so that's annoying they gave us a barrelĀ Ā
connector it's not 1836 dude no like who uses aĀ 5 aamp Barrel connector for what and the secondĀ Ā
thing that is just like a why another why didĀ you do this is the solar input has a 2600 W MaxĀ Ā
two plugs one is low voltage one is high voltageĀ the Delta Pro Ultra has a 5,000 something wattĀ Ā
high voltage input and then a much lower wattageĀ low voltage input but this one they just call oneĀ Ā
high and one low so now to get to your 2600 WattsĀ it just honestly got harder because you have toĀ Ā
have your two different arrays wired completelyĀ differently because one has a way higher voltageĀ Ā
and amperage Max the other one has a lot lower soĀ you kind of got to run smaller strands to get themĀ Ā
in there to get to your max I don't know why theyĀ did that I also don't like that this unit doesn'tĀ Ā
do 240 and 120 at the same time it's not a bigĀ deal but for example if I have this run off aĀ Ā
to a transfer switch in my house and it's poweringĀ everything via the 240 plug I can't walk up to theĀ Ā
unit and physically plug something in we have theĀ technology out it's been out since early this yearĀ Ā
at least to do both at the same time let's do itĀ this one should come at no surprise that I don'tĀ Ā
like that there is no light anywhere on this powerĀ station I've recently actually had a power outageĀ Ā
and what I had at home was a Delta Pro I had toĀ carry this thing up a set of stairs in the pitchĀ Ā
black because I couldn't hold my phone and carryĀ the unit you end up in the wrong situation you'reĀ Ā
going to be trying to Fumble around in the pitchĀ black setting this thing up which I just reallyĀ Ā
really wish we could get a light on some of theseĀ ecoflow products it's killing me to wrap this allĀ Ā
up the Delta Pro 3 is kind of like the release ofĀ a brand new iPhone if you already have an iPhoneĀ Ā
and it works just fine there's no point in gettingĀ the new one they're all the same if you don't haveĀ Ā
one though and you're looking to buy one buy theĀ newest one it always has all the best featuresĀ Ā
it'll last you a lot longer that's exactly how IĀ feel about this if you have a Delta Pro I wouldn'tĀ Ā
upgrade if you're just jumping into the marketĀ though right now would be a good time to get theĀ Ā
Delta Pro because it's really cheap but I wouldĀ honestly recommend that you just get this oneĀ Ā
it can do way more out of a single unit theĀ other one you're going to need two units toĀ Ā
run 240 and do some of the things this one you canĀ do everything out of one unit has your l14 plugĀ Ā
right on the front and it's just new it's biggerĀ it's better let us know some uh bigger tests orĀ Ā
anything that you might want to see us run thisĀ brand new unit through we would like to play withĀ Ā
it and just push it in some ways that maybe youĀ guys want to know otherwise that is all we got forĀ Ā
you guys thank you so much for watching I willĀ catch you next time peace out and stay charged
