Transcripts

play00:00

Have you ever been excited about a gameĀ  only to find out it's not exactly whatĀ Ā you expected?

play00:06

I have... and it's notĀ  exactly uncommon

play00:09

But don't worry,Ā Ā sometimes it's the good kind!

play00:11

I've beenĀ playing otome games for more than a decade now

play00:15

and when Love and Deepspace announcedĀ  its closed beta test, I just had to jump in!

play00:21

Here are 7 tips I wish I knew sooner duringĀ  closed beta that helped me in the full release.

play00:27

Starting with Face Customization

play00:30

When you start up the game, youā€™ll be greetedĀ  with a lovely face customization interface.Ā Ā

play00:37

This is what makes Love and Deepspace unique.Ā  You can customize your character's skin, face,Ā Ā

play00:43

eyes, nose, lips, makeup, andĀ  even the bangs. Unfortunately,Ā Ā

play00:50

the long dark hair would have toĀ  stay... for game reasons, I assume.

play00:54

But donā€™t you worry, we have a PhotoĀ  Studio that gets unlocked early in theĀ Ā

play00:59

game. You get to change your hair color,Ā  a few hairstyle options, outfit change,Ā Ā

play01:05

and most of all accessorizeĀ  with glasses and... other props.

play01:10

While it's technically just under Photo Studio,Ā  you do get to save the photos and choose that asĀ Ā

play01:16

your in-game avatar and social media pic...Ā  so there's still that kind of immersion,Ā Ā

play01:22

especially since the main story andĀ  other stories are in first-person.

play01:27

Speaking of stories, the first few chapters of theĀ Ā

play01:29

main story are pretty straightforwardĀ  and act as the tutorial for the game.

play01:35

However, you will reach a point where you willĀ Ā

play01:37

need to have a higher levelĀ  to go deeper into the story.

play01:41

And to get a higher level, you need toĀ  get some experience or EXP for short.

play01:47

It definitely took me a whileĀ  to realize that you don't getĀ Ā

play01:50

any EXP in any of the main storyĀ  chapters. You only get experienceĀ Ā

play01:56

from the daily tasks in your Agenda,Ā  at least at this time of recording.

play02:01

You will see this list of things you can do everyĀ Ā

play02:04

day and more gets added asĀ  you unlock more features.

play02:08

So if you wanna level up fast and move on with theĀ  main story, do not forget to do your daily tasks.

play02:15

Oh, but clearing the battle chapters inĀ  the main story for the first time doesĀ Ā

play02:20

give a bit of EXP but doing the daily tasksĀ  will definitely be your main source of EXP.

play02:26

And speaking of battles, Iā€™d like to pointĀ  out that there IS an Auto-Battle feature.Ā Ā

play02:31

You will unlock this in Chapter 2-15 inĀ  the main story. And just in time too,Ā Ā

play02:37

because the battles will startĀ  getting more complicated.

play02:41

This is very useful for players likeĀ  me who don't have good reflexes,Ā Ā

play02:45

players who have not-so-good peripherals,Ā  and players who are just in it for the story.

play02:50

I would also like to mention that theĀ  Auto-Battle also works in the Battle features,Ā Ā

play02:55

where there are a variety of challengesĀ  and conditions to win and you get toĀ Ā

play03:00

see your character and her companion inĀ  action, doing the challenges themselves.

play03:05

And while weā€™re on the subject of Battle features.

play03:09

In alot of mobile games, there are alot ofĀ  items and/or 'currencies' that you need toĀ Ā

play03:14

gather or farm for in order to upgrade certainĀ  aspects in the game, and for Love and Deepspace,Ā Ā

play03:20

the Battle features are whereĀ  youā€™ll need to go to for that.

play03:24

Starting with Bounty Hunts, you can useĀ  your stamina to battle Mr. Beanie for Gold,Ā Ā

play03:29

Heartbreaker for Bottles of Wishes, PumpkinĀ  Magus for Sapphire and Ruby Crystals,Ā Ā

play03:35

Lemonette for Emerald and Amber Crystals,Ā  and Snoozer for Violet and Pearl Crystals.

play03:41

All of these are needed to upgradeĀ  your Memories. The bottles of wishesĀ Ā

play03:45

are for increasing the memoryā€™sĀ  EXP to level it up. Then the goldĀ Ā

play03:50

and crystals are for ascending theĀ  memory to increase its level cap.

play03:54

Also, once you clear a specific battle for theĀ  first time in Bounty Hunt, you will unlock theĀ Ā

play04:00

option to do one or multiple pursuits so you wonā€™tĀ  need to go through many battles to farm items.

play04:06

Next, thereā€™s the Deepspace Trial,Ā  there are four types of challenges here.

play04:11

The Open Orbit is open 24/7, here youĀ  can choose anyone to be your companionĀ Ā

play04:17

in battle and you can try to clearĀ  the trials as many times as you like.

play04:22

The other three orbits, Light, Ice, andĀ  Fire, are only open on certain days,Ā Ā

play04:27

and your battle companion can onlyĀ  be the guy that is assigned to thatĀ Ā

play04:30

orbit. And you can only try toĀ  clear the trials 3 times per day.

play04:35

The rewards from each orbitā€™sĀ  trial vary. You can get gold,Ā Ā

play04:40

diamonds, wishes, companionĀ  outfits, and accessories.

play04:44

Then there is also the Training Room,Ā  where you get diamonds when you clearĀ Ā

play04:49

each training for the first time, theseĀ  trainings are basically just showing youĀ Ā

play04:53

the tutorial on how to fight in aĀ  battle, just in case you forgot.

play04:58

Now, Core Hunt and Hunter ContestĀ  will unlock in later levels and ifĀ Ā

play05:02

you want us to cover more on theseĀ  topics, let us know in the comments!

play05:07

Aaand one more thing aboutĀ  battlesā€¦ is the combat outfits.

play05:11

You can change your and yourĀ  companionā€™s outfits for battle.

play05:16

And you can purchase combat outfits inĀ  the shop, although while you can selectĀ Ā

play05:20

any of the unlocked outfits in the PhotoĀ  Studio, unfortunately, the combat outfitsĀ Ā

play05:26

are character-exclusive or locked duringĀ  the battles for now. This means that,Ā Ā

play05:31

during battle, you can only wear specificĀ  outfits when your companion is Rafayel,Ā Ā

play05:36

Zayne, or Xavier. The cutscenes forĀ  their ultimate skill look amazing though.

play05:42

Also, keep in mind that the skills of yourĀ  companion will also change depending onĀ Ā

play05:46

their outfit. So your companionā€™s ultimateĀ  skill cutscenes will also look different.

play05:52

Letā€™s move on from the battlesĀ  and shift our focus to the boys.

play05:57

If you're like me, just simply content inĀ  staring at the Love and Deepspace boys,Ā Ā

play06:02

well... you're not alone hehe

play06:05

But of course, we also wantĀ  to know more about them right?

play06:09

This is where the Date Features come in.

play06:12

You will unlock them one by one asĀ  you increase your level. So again,Ā Ā

play06:16

do not forget those dailyĀ  tasks I mentioned earlier.

play06:20

The Photo Studio and Playtime are prettyĀ  straightforward. But the others were a bitĀ Ā

play06:24

confusing for me at first on what theĀ  differences are, so here's the gist:

play06:30

By Your Side is like an ASMR whereĀ  you can listen to his voice storiesĀ Ā

play06:34

in the background even if you have otherĀ  apps open, which is awesome because notĀ Ā

play06:39

only do you learn more about him but youĀ  can do other stuff on your device too.

play06:45

In Falling for You, you get to experience theĀ  first-person interactive dates. Under this areĀ Ā

play06:51

Bond - which gets unlocked when you get closerĀ  and reach a certain affinity, Memoria - which areĀ Ā

play06:56

unlocked when you acquire specific 5-starĀ  Memories and reach a certain affinity,Ā Ā

play07:02

and Myth - which is similar to Memoria but inĀ  an alternate universe or timeline situation.

play07:08

In Anecdotes, you get to readĀ  and discover more of his untoldĀ Ā

play07:12

stories from the perspectives of other characters,Ā Ā

play07:15

which adds depth to the Love Interests'Ā  personality and background--a welcome addition.

play07:21

And when youā€™re done checking out these features,Ā Ā

play07:24

you can go back to staring at one ofĀ  the beautiful boys and do some skinship!

play07:29

While skinship isn't exactly new, but did youĀ  know that when you tap on them too many timesĀ Ā

play07:36

they might get mad and turn their backĀ  on you? Then you can touch their head,Ā Ā

play07:42

their back, their lower back, and their butt.Ā  Sometimes, we just wanna be a tease you know?

play07:50

This is definitely one of theĀ  things I enjoyed in this game.

play07:54

And then you can click on this end card for moreĀ  otome-related content. And weā€™ll see you there!
