chose this month to manifest some of his

will cover around half a dozen or so of

the most significant manifestations of

over them in a decisive battle the night

crying to Allah subhah wa taala for

was the month of Ramadan and the next

morning Allah subhah wa taala gave them

that decisive Victory and of course when

Salah marched into the City and he

conquered the city see the Christians

were worried that he would do unto them

as their ancestors had done onto the

Muslims but he made a commandment and a

rule and he ordered his Elite arm

because the Army was consisting of many

groups of people some of them were just

you know the mobs they were just signing

up to the Army he took his Elite guard

Marines or whatnot and he enforced upon

them to make sure the Muslims did not

mob against the Christians the Muslims

did not Massacre the Christians out of

fought in this month of Ramadan is the

famous battle of a jalut that took place

The Well of Goliath a jalut The Well of

Goliath that took place on the 25th of

Ramadan in the year 658 of the Hijra

corresponding to September 1260 CE and

in this battle which is one of the most

decisive battles in the history of Islam

and how I wish that we would study our

history and know our history to see the

good and the bad the positives and the

negatives so that we can benefit from

what has happened before us to in in a

nutshell you've all heard of genis Khan

Chen Khan you've all heard of the Mongol

invasion well the Mongols invaded the

lands that were east of them that's the

lands of Islam Samar bukara usbekistan

they continued working their way forward

they surrounded Bagdad in 1258 1260 they

destroyed the Abbasid Empire they killed

every single member of the Khalifa's

family and they destroyed the entire

city of Bagdad and the people thought

this is y and ma is coming now they were

the most brutal uncivilized barbaric

group that Humanity had ever seen and

that is why to this day the Mongolian

invasion is something that the common

culture the children see their cartoons

about it because it was one of those

tragedies that has seeped into the

imagination of mankind the Mongolian

invasion was one of the most devastating

invasions in human history and the

Muslims took the bulk of that Invasion

even though some Christian kingdoms as

well were affected but because the

Mongolian Army invaded directly the

lands of Islam it was essentially the

Muslim lands the Abbasid califate came

to an end the Mongols conquered imagine

if you can imagine a map from

essentially the borders of China they

made their way throughout the Middle

East they ransacked and raped Bagdad

they surrounded Damascus took over

Damascus festine they marched onwards

and they made their way to a small land

of a province of Egypt and up until that

point in time egyp egpt had not been of

a a prominent uh uh part of the Muslim

world in the mean in the sense that it

was never a political or an intellectual

Capital up until this point in time

everything would change after this so

the entire lands of Islam had been

ravished and raged now they make their

way and they think they'll get rid of

Islam but Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

shall save his religion in ways we don't

understand and a small provincial

Dynasty that was called the slave

Dynasty mamluks the the mamluk dynasty

they decided to challenge the grandson

of changes Khan many years had gone back

changes Khan is long di now it is his

grandson hulakan is now in charge and

now this small dynasty of the mamluks

they took on this massive undefeatable

or so the people thought Army of the

Mongolians and in this Army the leader

of the uh of the Muslims he came across

a tactic that was the first time in

human history history ever employed and

that is to use gunpowder in Warfare it

had never been done before and the

leader of the Muslim Army decided to use

something called gunpowder and in fact

he used it uh again time is limited he

didn't use it the way we think he

actually used it to make loud noises to

scare the horses of the Mongolians

because they still hadn't developed guns

and cannons again this is 12 uh you know

60 CE plenty of time is going to go by

before guns and cannons are coming the

first time that this technology was used

in the battle it was from the mamluks

the Muslim side and the first time the

Mongolians were defeated was in the

Battle of a jalut on the 25th of Ramadan

in the year 658 of the Hijra when people

thought that the lands of Islam would be

gone when people thought there is no

hope Allah subhah wa ta'ala gave the

people hope and this small slave Dynasty

became the most powerful Dynasty for the

next 300 years until the ottoman Turks

took over and Egypt became the

intellectual and the political capital

of the Muslim land and it was in that

time frame where the status of Egypt was

established because of the victory of

the mamluks in Ramadan my dear brothers

and sisters I can go on and on but time

is limited the question that arises when

I finish theba here the first why am I

mentioning past historical battles of

what relevance is it to us right now the

response should be resoundingly clear to

all of us who are pondering and that is

the following this month is a month of

Victory this month is a month of Isa it

is a month of Glory it is a month of

conquests this month is a month where

Allah subhanahu wa taala allows Islam to

rise and flourish throughout the world

throughout history some of the most

important battles of our umah were

fought and one in this month and it is

not a coincidence so if Allah subhanahu

wa ta'ala can give victory over the

Mongols in this month if he can give

victory over the Crusaders in this month

if he can give victory over the vizigot

in this month if he can get victory over

Raj in this month then how about victory

over my and your personal sins how about

victory over the struggles of my life

and your life how about victory over the

habits that I have and I'm struggling

with and you have you're struggling with

this is the month of victory for the

umah and for every one of us if we put

our mind to it if we follow in the

footsteps of the righteous Muslims then

just like Allah subhana wa ta'ala gave

Victory to them in their magnificent

battles then surely the battles of my

life the battles of my personal

struggles the battles of my own sh and

are much more easy to conquer than

conquering Chen Khan and conquering

rajad D and others this is the month of

Victory put your mind to it put your

trust in Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and

you shall be a Victor in this month may

Allah subhah wa ta'ala bless me and you

with and through the Quran and may he

make us of those who its verses they

understand and may he make us of those

who Implement his Commandments

throughout our lifespan I ask Allah to

forgive me you will as well ask him for

he is the the rman oh

Muslims many are the Ramadan that we

have fasted for some amongst us 50 60 70

80 years for others if they are young

this might actually be their first

Ramadan for most of us we are

alhamdulillah experienced in Ramadan and

we are now facing yet another Ramadan

and every single Ramadan the same

trepidation the same fear how can I do

it how can I go without lunch how can I

no not drink water throughout this this

hot time of June July when it's going to

happen and every single year we fast the

first day and we say it's so easy how

can this be happening and that is

because Allah subhana wa tala has

promised

us Allah wants to make things easy for

you he does not want to make things

difficult my dear brothers and sisters

some practical advice to myself and all

of you during this month during this

month we really do see the best of the

best

masallah across the globe the umah

demonstrates its piety and IM gallab

pole did a survey a few years ago about

all the religions across the globe and

their rituals and they said that the

religion that observes the ritual the

most out of all religions it is the fast

of Ramadan as observed by the Muslims a

whopping 75% of the umah observes the

fast and that was light years ahead of

the second statistic way after that the

umah really is alive and we see it

during this month of Ramadan the mosques

are packed to capacity even though we

have work and school the next day people

are praying an hour 2 three every night

the Quran is being recited VI is being

done Dua is being made the fast

demonstrate IM and tawa but then the

month finishes and Subhan Allah it's as

if the bubble has burst and the balloon

falls down back to the ground I want to

be very pragmatic my dear brothers and

sisters it is impossible that the spirit

of Ramadan will be found after Ramadan

that's not going to happen we rise up in

Ramadan

higher and higher and higher we finish

on a cresendo in the last 10 nights and

the but then when Ramadan finishes we

flutter back down and at some level that

is inevitable but my humble suggestion

to all of you and to myself is the

following my dear brothers and sisters

we cannot maintain the levels of Iman in

Ramadan outside of Ramadan in fact

that's not the goal but imagine joining

a gym getting training under the best

gym instructor for a month 2 months 3

months you get to your lifestyle your

routine now you have m a system you're

going daily you have everything down

then imagine that your membership

expires you're no longer able to be a

part of that

gym some of us we will drop back down

gain all the weight but that's not the

point if you cannot maintain the

efficiency that you had during that

trial membership at least benefit from

some habits acquire some wisdom and

maintain some of the etiquet that we did

in Ramadan the goal my dear brothers and

sisters is that every Ramadan We rise

higher and higher and higher when we

flutter back and we will flutter back

where we end should be higher than where

we began the month that is the goal of

Ramadan so if we rose up we went 100

notches higher we flutter back down we

go down to 30 20 10 but we stop there we

do not go back to status quo before the

month then the next Ramadan comes we go

another 100 steps then we flutter back

down we go down until we're another 1020

now we are double what we were 2 years

ago and then slowly but surely every

Ramadan we climb up a few ladders we

climb up a few steps we stay there we

stick to that routine next Ramadan we go

higher next Ramadan we go higher so

every Ramadan becomes a boot camp for us

every Ramadan comes a time where we

become better and closer to Allah subhah

wa taala such that and this is my Dua

and say a mean to this we ask Allah that

our best Ramadan is our last Ramadan and

our most perfect Ramadan is Ramadan

closest to our death we want every year

to be better than the last year and

every day to be better than the last day

and we want to have the most best

Ramadan of Our Lives the year that we

meet Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala that will

only be done if we have this in mind

that the goal is will use this month to

come closer to Allah as much as I can

when Ramadan finishes I cannot maintain

that level but I will not go back to

status quo I will not return to

everything that I had and I will be

higher than I was and we do this every

single year until we meet our Lord and

that is the real wisdom of Ramadan and

the real method that we will use to

conquer ourselves slowly but surely bit

by bit and we will inshallah tala be

victorious
