the full rundown on the Alpinestar
faster three riding shoe go ahead and
subscribe that helps keep bringing you
the best Key reviews in the universe and
if at any point you'd like to purchase a
set of faster three riding shoes from
speed addicts we would appreciate that
there's a link in the description below
to shop for these shoes or any other
parts of gear you might need for your
next two-wheel Adventure so riding shoes
offer enhanced protection when compared
to your normal sneaker don't be a fool
and ride in low tops or sneakers you
will pay for it I have before and it was
just something simple I was commuting I
came out of a parking lot wearing low
top work boots and I tore my ankle up
wear riding shoes or boots with ankle
coverage uh the faster three is going to
give you better coverage than your
typical sneaker and it's going to have a
steel shank we're gonna tell you all
about the different points of protection
now
this writing shoe does not offer quite
as much protection as a boot even this
low top alpinestars SMX one uh R here
you'll notice it's got a more enhanced
heel cup it's got a big toe slider
overall just more padding but it's also
a lot bulkier
so it's pretty heavy and the look is not
really something that goes great at the
office so in comes the riding shoe you
want something that looks stylish it's
lighter weight it's more comfortable the
faster three is a great option so this
comes in three different configurations
you have the ride knit which is in front
of me you have the dry star which is the
weatherproof version and then the
standard version so you've got hot
weather all season or wet weather you
pick what you need and the price range
169 to 199 of course if you watch this
at a later date prices may vary the
weight for one of these is a pound very
lightweight very comfortable shoe that
is CE certified that's the European
health and safety standard and the size
range you'll notice these on the site
are all in US sizes unlike the riding
boots from Alpine Stars when it comes to
the street boots it's all Euro when it
comes to riding shoes it will be us
and the most important part of this
video is the fitment information so
alpinestars boot info or boot fitment is
kind of all over the place but these
faster threes are right on the money so
order whatever size you normally wear in
U.S sizes and you will be in Gray shape
they also offer the Stella version which
is the women's sizing so look out for
that but for the men's it's usually 5 to
14 is or I think the women's is
including that so 5 to 14 true to size
go by the Alpinestar sizing chart at
speedatics.com and remember if you buy
your next set of gear from speedix you
get no cost returns so if you're in the
United States the product is still brand
new in original packaging you can get a
free label and a couple clicks get an
exchange return give us a shot we'll
treat you like family
okay let's jump in and take a look a
little bit closer so these are the ride
knits uh this you'll notice this knit
fabric all across the side these breathe
very well so if you're wondering which
faster three shoe to buy if you're going
to be in hot weather the ride knits are
for you if you're gonna ever see wet
weather do not get the ride knits get
the dry stars or at least the standard
version because they'll give you better
weather protection but these are the hot
weather specials and just lots of
breathability they all have similar
feature set besides that material on the
side so we're going to show you that to
you now
you jump up at at the top here we have a
TPU
velcro strap that's going to open up and
then you have standard laces just like
your normal sneaker uh this is their 3D
mesh material the same stuff they use in
most of their Footwear and shoes so that
that will breathe and be nice and comfy
plenty of Patty in here these are
comfortable on and off the bike they're
not the type of riding shoes that feel
super clunky and you want to get off as
soon as you get home these things uh you
can cruise around no problem do what you
need to do on and off the bike uh inside
of here we've got a footbed that you
cannot see but I'm going to show you
right now so this is a breathable
footbed you can run your own insole
should you choose to do so but that is
the one that is included and another
thing you can't see is a suede heel cup
that's going to keep your foot nice and
planted in here between that the laces
and the strap this should stay on your
foot even if you should test it and come
off of the bike okay let's look at the
exterior of the faster three you're
gonna notice a few patches of what they
call TPU material that stands for
thermoplastic polyurethane it's flexible
but provides slide and impact protection
you have it on the toe area area should
you drag that and up here on the on the
ankle bone this is the trouble spot
should you go down on a sport bike
that's the spot that instantly makes
contact so they do have protection on
the outside and sewn into the liner you
have an extra cup and padding on both
sides so if you feel you can't quite see
it but you can see it protruding there
so you get that ankle protection on both
sides of the faster three that is the
most important protection uh if you ask
me the toe is reinforced I'm pushing
pretty hard on that you can see you have
rigidity that's going to be important as
is the heel cup so you have protection
in the heel and toes and Ankle areas up
across the top they don't have a real
meaty shift protector but this material
is resistant you notice how they wrap
that over the top instead of having the
the knit fabric there so that will serve
as your shift protector on the inside on
the net you have the perforation here
and let's check out the sole so one of
the prime factors that make a riding
shoe different than your normal test
issue is there is a steel shank embedded
in the sole of this shoe that's going to
distribute the weight across the whole
sole instead of just riding right up
into your arch and causing a lot of pain
so this compound is nice and grippy you
will get nice grip no matter how slick
or oily that intersection might be that
you're stopping at and you're going to
get a one year warranty from Alpinestar
should you have any trouble with this so
remember runs true to size you have
three options dry star knit or the
standard pick your poison you won't be
sorry the fast three is good looking
comfortable and gives you that
protection you need when you're running
around town appreciate you all for
watching we'll see you next time to find
out what's in the crate
