So how much performance does Black Myth enable path tracing?

If we use 4070,
there will be almost no performance loss if
we turn on low-range ray tracing and mid-range ray tracing.

Only if we turn on ultra-high light tracing, the frame rate will drop more.
However, if you run with 3080,
this result will not be the same.
Without ray tracing,
the performance of 3080 and 4070 is close.
But even if you only turn on low-end ray tracing,
the frame rate of 3080 will drop significantly.
If you turn on ultra-high ray tracing, you can't even run 30 frames.

We have also seen that the 40-series ray tracing has certain advantages in other games

and found that it uses a very important feature of the 40 series - OMM.
This is the proportion of Drawcall overhead under path tracing in Cyberpunk 2077.

In 2077,
the main cost of light chasing is spent on traversal
. In Black Myth,
a large part of the cost is spent on Any Hit.
Any Hit is used to determine whether light continues to propagate through the transparent part
of Black Myth. There are a large number of objects using transparent materials in the scene
, such as leaves and vegetation.
These transparent materials will be sampled by Any Hit Shader in the light tracing pipeline
to determine, for example, whether the light should penetrate through the gaps between the leaves.
You need to know this judgment. The process
is very resource consuming.
Let me use this leaf as an example
. On the N cards and A cards before the 40 series,
if a light hits any position on the entire square area,
the Any Hit Shader needs to be executed.
On the Ada architecture of the 40 series,
