Transcripts
imagine having a personal genius that
could pick the perfect framework for any
challenge you face in your business if
you watch this video to the very end
you'll be able to create a prompt so
powerful with meta prompting that you'll
never need to struggle on your own with
any trials and tribulations that your
business might face if you're new the
channel my name is Mark and I run my own
AI agency called prompt advisors that
I've been running for the past few years
we've been working with tons of
businesses to see where AI fits best in
their workflows now I've already
released a few videos about this concept
called prompting which is basically
getting an AI to prompt itself to
accomplish the goal that you're looking
for without all the hassle in my last
video I actually talked about how to
apply meta prompting with personas to be
able to use the embedded knowledge of
these large language models to be able
to write in the styles of well-known and
even less known figures without having
to actually tell the prompt the exact
style you're looking for exhaustively
after I filmed the last video I realized
that you could apply that concept to
Frameworks which is basically telling
the AI how to think about a problem or
how to approach a problem in a specific
way that's a bit more methodical than it
might do by default now unlike my last
videos where I would jump straight into
writing the prompts in this video I want
to do things a bit differently I want to
actually ladder our way there and build
the prompt together at the very end
after we understand what a framework is
and look at actual examples of those
Frameworks to get an idea of how we
should approach this kind of solution at
the end we'll use our typical lazy
strategy of meta prompt to put
everything together to come up with a
really powerful prompt that you can use
straight away after watching this video
for any business application you could
imagine okay enough talking and let's
jump straight in now I usually use chat
gbt for my demos but in this specific
one I'm going to use CLA AI as I want to
be able to leverage their new artifacts
features to visualize our processes of
what we're doing in a bit more
interactive way so when it comes to what
Frameworks are I'm going to go to this
list that I created using Claud aai um
various Frameworks across different
functions in business whether it be
problem solving and Analysis creative
and strategic thinking decisionmaking
Frameworks business and strategy
Frameworks continuous Improvement and
process
optimization goal setting and
performance and measurement and the last
one visualization and mapping Frameworks
now of this list of 50 Frameworks you
might be familiar with a couple offthe
cuff such as SWAT analysis which is
basically looking at a business in
saying what are the strengths what are
the weaknesses what are the
opportunities and what are the threats
another one is inversion thinking which
is basically saying what would I have to
do in order for something to not be
accomplished or for something to fail
and kind of starting from failure and
reverse engineering your way to success
and the last one is one you might not
know about and honestly I didn't know
about until I actually went through it
which is called the Blue Ocean strategy
I remember reading a book about it but I
had to be reminded of what it is so I
could actually use it which by the way
is the whole point of this video there
are so many Frameworks to keep track of
that are super powerful and will really
take your prompts from good to great
when it comes to breaking down problems
especially if you know which framework
to use in the right case so why have to
rely on yourself to remember that versus
actually getting an llm to do that for
you so let's break down a couple that
you might not be familiar with starting
with Blue Ocean strategy so if we take
this Blue Ocean strategy framework we'll
copy it into cloud and I'm just going to
write a prompt here that says I'm going
to provide
you with
Frameworks and when I
do come up with a real life use case as
to when I'd use
it and then provide an
explanation of the different other
scenarios you might consider it and then
provide a summary
of the actual framework in bullets now I
did misspell a few words there but LMS
are good at autoc correct all right so
now it says understood I'll provide a
real life use case explain in different
scenarios where you might consider using
the framework and then summarize the
framework and bullet points so let's
just put this here we'll put Blue Ocean
strategy framework so it'll break it
down give us a real life use case and
then let's just focus here on the
summary of The Blue Ocean strategy so um
f focuses on creating an uncontested
Market space emphasizes value innovation
uses tools like the Strategic canvas to
visualize competitive factors in the
industry employs the four actions
framework eliminate reduce raise and
create aims to make the competition
relevant and I won't read the rest but
it seems like it's very blue sky related
in terms of evaluating a new market that
you might want to be venturing into so
that's blue ocean strategy let's go into
something that I'm not familiar with
let's say ok's razor framework so let's
paste
that all right let's just jump straight
into the summary here so principle the
simplest explanation is usually the
correct one emphasizes Simplicity and
parsimony in explanations or Solutions
encourages the elimination of
unnecessary assumptions or complexity
helps avoid over complication and over
fitting in various contexts okay so I
learned something new in this video
hopefully you did too and honestly 90%
of these I'm not familiar with but I
know that each one is useful in its own
way it's a different weapon in Your
Arsenal let's take one more let's say
Kaizen continuous Improvement framework
let's put that
here all right all right so we got
something like this where it says
Japanese concept meaning change for
better or continuous Improvement focuses
on small incremental changes rather than
large radical changes involves employees
at all levels so it seems like this is
very specific to organizations and
workflow management um so I could see
where this won't apply for many cases
and where it might apply for that small
subset of cases so those are just a few
examples to give you a rough idea of
what these Frameworks might entail and
if we just go to one of the examples
here as select application um so for
this Kaizen one it's a medium-sized
Manufacturing Company struggling with
high defect rates in their production
line they implement the Kaizen framework
to address this issue starting with
small incremental changes they encourage
all employees to suggest improvements so
this tells us pretty much this is
awesome as a use case for the
manufacturing industry now I promised
that I was using Claud for a specific
reason because while I can read the
other ones the easiest way is to
actually quickly visualize what they
look like in terms of a framework so I'm
going to use this framework called
mermaid that Claude is pretty good at
visualizing right now to allow us to
quickly see how these different
Frameworks work so if I say use mermaid
to
visualize how uh Blue Ocean strategy
works so this will actually create a
bunch of processed diagrams behind the
scenes written by code so right now it's
popping up as code but as soon as it's
done it'll actually look like a
visualization which I find awesome and
it's one feature that Chachi does not
have so if I zoom in here it'll say
current market analyze is it a red Ocean
or is it a blue ocean if it's red ocean
that means you're in a competitive
market if it's a blue ocean that means
you can create a new market space and in
this case we can zoom out just a tad
it'll say apply four actions framework
so number one is eliminate remove
factors industry competes on reduce
decrease factors below industry standard
yada yada yada so the idea is now that
like I can actually visualize this kind
of information which will be super
helpful near the end of the video where
we put everything together and create a
prompt that's very Nimble in whatever
use case you throw at it all right so
that's enough with the overview we're
going to now create a brand new chat and
we're going to create the foundation for
our prompt by feeding that list of 50
different Frameworks into CLA and then
asking it a few different real world
scenarios to see which framework it
would match with that scenario to see
kind of how this will work moving
forward because the goal is by the end
of the video is that we have a prompt
that is trained to look for all these
Frameworks and match the framework to
the problem that you're having imagine
that your business problem is going to
be some form of variable at the very end
of The Prompt that you can configure so
whether today's problem is hey I think I
don't know how to scale my business or I
don't know if I should be implementing
project management software in my
company what do you think how should I
do it how should I scale it you'll be
able to configure those different types
of scenarios using the knowledge of all
these Frameworks to find the best match
or matches to help actually come up with
a plan all right all right so let's go
into here and we'll create again a very
basic prompt all right so we're going to
say
here is a list of
Frameworks that I
like and then we'll go to our Google doc
and we'll just do control a paste it
there we go at the very bottom of the
prompt I'm going to
say every time I provide you with a real
real life
scenario come up with the best
Frameworks that
match the situation and explain why you
chose that
framework and why it's a good fit so in
this case here we're just going to say
um do you understand now when I'm doing
a prompt like this I like to say do you
understand yes or no just so that it
doesn't actually try and execute
anything sometimes that happens in chat
gbt when I say do you understand it'll
just say yes or no and kind of get ready
for my input and if I really want to
prep it I'll say um get ready for my use
cases that I'll be giving you one by one
so in this case when I give it one thing
it won't try and extrapolate to the next
thing it'll do one at a time so it's
kind of like preparing it to be
breadcrumbed so I'll just send
this now it should say yes I understand
you'll see it's already rambling and
I've constrained it as much as I
possibly could so in this case I'm going
to say example one let's assume this
scenario maybe you're a small business
owner and you want to see how you can
accelerate against your competition in
the specific Market you're working in so
if we try to create a tactical example
what if you're a recruitment firm and
you're trying to find a way to stand out
in a market that's pretty saturated and
being affected by AI so if we say
here a
boutique recruitment firm wants to
assess its position in the job market
all right so you'll see here it came up
with two main Frameworks one is the SWAT
analysis framework and the second one is
the porters 5 forces framework so for
SWAT it tells you why it picked it and
this is the one that I mentioned at the
beginning because it's super easy uh
strength weaknesses opportunities and
threats so I won't go through what it
outputed but that's an example of what
that would look like and the second one
it chose is actually a very common
business one I remember from my old days
in business school was Porters five
forces framework so this one talks about
threat of new entrance Bears to entry
Etc so it matched those two of the 50 to
our specific use case let's assume that
you are a team leader and you're trying
to solve some intermittent issues you
have with your workfl flow with your
team if you want to give a more specific
example let's say you're a project
manager at a startup or a tech company
and you're trying to find a way to keep
your engineers and your product team
talking to each other and meeting their
deadlines so we'll say you're a team
leader in a tech company
trying
to create an efficient workflow between
your Eng team and your product team team
using best practices in this case again
it comes up with three different
Frameworks that best match the situation
explaining to each as to why that might
be the case so we have the adile
framework the can band framework and the
RCI Matrix the first two I know
basically agile and can ban are
different ways of doing project
management uh can ban for example is
like you can have only x amount of
things in progress while you're building
a project but you have a tight limit but
it's kind of like Blurry in terms of the
different stages of those projects
whereas agile kind of actually can be
very different depending on where the
context is as you go down you can see
that there's a breakdown of each one of
these Frameworks here and for the raci
Matrix not too sure about this one but
it looks like it's a supplementary
framework it's valuable for clarifying
roles and responsibilities so again this
would be broken down step by step and
you could probably ask it okay tell me
more about R ACI give me a more Tac use
case Etc but let's keep going all right
so for number three let's assume that
you're a busy professional struggling
with time management and prioritization
let's assume that you're a senior at a
financial advisory company and your
clients are unhappy with you because
you'll keep missing deadlines so we'll
go in here and write that so you are a
financial advisory firm member a senior
to be specific and your team keep keeps
missing client deadlines and you want to
fix your
processes and your client
relationships okay so for this one again
we have three one of them I'm familiar
with and you probably might be as well
the Paro principle the 8020 rule um the
Eisenhower Matrix and dmic not too sure
but again these are things that you'd
never remember yourself let alone get to
know yourself if you didn't have this
list which you could make into like 100
if you really wanted to all right let's
do the next one let's assume that in
this case you're an entrepreneur and
you're actually product oriented and
you're trying your best to actually
improve your product to maybe increase
the lifetime value of your customers as
a tactical example let's say you're a
Fitness Studio owner you're trying to
find some ways to add new classes or to
improve your existing classes to
increase the likelihood of your
customers staying longer and not turning
so let's just say you're a Fitness
Studio owner with classes and trying to
increase LTV of customers and stop churn
and making the classes way better so in
this case we have three again and one of
them Kaizen if you remember we talked
about earlier in the video was more
about manufacturing and the idea here is
maybe there was a framework that was
designed for one specific use case but
some of its elements might be derivative
or you can take the derivative of those
elements and apply it to a completely
different scenario Fitness Studios is
not manufacturing but the fact that you
can somehow take elements from that
framework and adapt it to your situation
is something that shows you the magic of
not just meta prompting but actually the
magic of using Frameworks to really
enrich your prompting experience to get
way better responses that are much more
thoughtful than the typical ones you're
used to so the last one let's make it a
bit more meta so let's assume that
you're a manager that has to deal with
different complex decisions all of which
have different possible outcomes so to
make it tactical let's say you are a
tech startup CEO and you're in the
middle of trying to raise money and
trying to decide should you actually
move forward with raising money or
should you continue to bootstrap based
on your specific product so let's say
here you're a tech startup CEO and
deciding whether to keep pursuing
funding for your AI
biologics
startup or whether you should continue
bootstrapping okay so for this one we
have three again we have SWAT we have
opportunity cost framework and the one
that's interesting to me is the decision
tree framework that's actually a perfect
match in my opinion and decision tree is
probably the one that I would think of
if I was looking through that specific
decision so this shows you it's a pretty
comprehensive match of that list of 50
so at this point we know what Frameworks
are we've seen a couple examples of them
we've actually applied them to real
world use cases with the list of 50 fed
in so we could see how it does that
matching and now we can bring this all
together to create this Mega prompt that
will allow us to dynamically configure
whatever we want at the very bottom
while giving us this experience that we
just created kind of using this back and
for strategy so we'll open another chat
here and we'll use my famous words you
are a prompt
engineer you create very
bespoke and detailed prompts that you
output in markdown and in a code block I
want you to write a prompt that will
match a
scenario that will be provided to you to
which one of the
following Frameworks apply to that
scenario
explain which
Frameworks apply in bullets then explain
the rationale as to why they apply to
that particular
situation and explain how they might be
used
together assuming you provide more than
one to help the user get past their
difficulty
or ideation
so in this case I'm going to give it
here is the list we're going to give it
that
list
here and then we'll say one last thing
at the bottom make sure the prompt
leaves a variable at the bottom
called Situation it should be
structured like this
instruction list of 50 Frameworks
Works to choose from variable situation
equals a blank and I'm just telling it
to do this so that it keeps some form of
variable at the bottom called Situation
blank so that we can fill that with the
our actual situation so we'll send this
and we'll see how this works typically
we're using chat gbt we're using Cloud
this time so in this case we have it
breaking it down thankfully it's
listening it's repeating all of our 50
there we go and we have this little
situation here so if you just go up um
we just open this up here so as a prompt
engineer your task is to analyze a given
situation and identify the most relevant
problem solving creative thinking
decision- making business strategy or
Improvement Frameworks that can be
applied follow these steps read the
situation carefully select one to three
Frameworks for each framework explain
why it's relevant to the situation in
two three sentences provide a brief
overview of how to apply the framework
to the situation and if you've selected
multiple Frameworks explain how they can
be used together to address the
situation comprehensively and then the
last one just says present your analysis
in a clear manner so um this looks good
to me so if we actually grab this prompt
and we fire up another chat and let's
use the situation we talked about before
let's say a tech startup C CEO
deciding whether or not to
pursue funding or stay
bootstrapped for their biotech startup
and there you have it it works just like
the one we had in the back and forth
conversation but now you can have it in
one shot and you can extrapolate from
here you could take these instructions
with the list of 50 so you don't have to
keep copy pasting it you could create a
custom GPT or if you're you're not
familiar Claude released a feature 3 to
four weeks ago called projects where you
can also give custom instructions as
well which I'll show you really quickly
right now so theoretically I could take
this whole thing and then go to projects
go to create a project and call this one
framework Helper and then click create
project in here you could load a
knowledge base with as many documents as
you want with a limit obviously I think
it's around 7 to 10 documents and then
click on custom instructions you could
put instruction here where technically
you can say
situation um this will be provided to
you and find the best matches based on
the situation something like that you
can click save instructions and the idea
is you can just write it here the
situation so let's do the other one a
Fitness Studio owner wants to innovate
wow that was rough to innovate their
class offerings and increase LTV of
their
customers boom there you go in this case
we don't even have to give it that list
of 50 we we can now use this Cloud
projects function to actually recreate
this whole experience where now every
time we can just come in tell up the
actual experience we're having and go
from there you can do the exact same
thing with custom GPT you can just copy
paste this throw into the custom
instructions um and you'll have that
exact same experience all done for you I
know this one was a bit more complicated
than the other ones but when it comes to
actually creating strategy documents
strategy road maps product strategy road
maps Etc being able to lean on all these
different Frameworks via an llm to
quickly think for you and make those
connections that might otherwise take
you a while or there might be some bias
among stakeholders where they're very
myopic in terms of which Frameworks they
always look at something like this
especially if you were to combine it
with the other things that I've taught
in the last few weeks become very potent
together and if not even on its own it's
a very potent way to create strategy
moving forward and having a second brain
if you will just living in a custom GPT
or custom project like this you'll find
the actual prompt you put together in
the description below and if this was
helpful and you liked it please leave a
like sub to the channel and I'll see you
the next one
