Transcripts
Bro, your school is over, you are in college and college
can be one of the game changers of your life.
So to make your college life better, I want to tell you my
personal experiences that I have learned in IIT.
In which the first thing is that you should know why you
are in college.
Now don't give the answer of losers in this that mom and
dad forced me etc.
Now if you are there, then why are you there? Think about
this.
Because basically college is a game that you have to win.
So what are the conditions of winning it? You have to think
about that.
Like in school, you have to get only marks to win and
nothing else.
But in college, you may not want to play this game in that
way.
I am not saying that the way to be successful by getting
marks in college is wrong, that is not wrong.
But in college, there are so many ways of success that you
can follow.
You just need to have that self-awareness that which way
you want to follow.
And you will have to ask yourself this thing at least twice
in every semester that the game that I want to play in
college, I am playing or not.
For example, you are using college to make your sports
career.
Or you are using college to do a Ph.D. in something.
So you should know the use of that college.
And to be very honest, the purpose with which you entered
the college, if after first year, second year, you also
feel that this purpose cannot be fulfilled, then why are
you playing that game? Next thing is that you have to learn
such skills that compound
with time.
And if you start learning this skill at the age of 18 or
19, then nothing better than that will happen in your life.
For example, if you started doing things like coding or
designing right now, and if you do something wrong in it,
then no one cares.
But if you started it right now at the age of 18 or 19,
then you will think that after 5 years, when you will be
23, when you will be earning money by using that skill,
then you will have learned so much about that skill that
the money earned from that
skill or the fulfillment from that skill will be
exponential.
Next very important point is to correct your posture.
When you are completing your assignments at night in
college, and you are sitting crookedly on the sofa, then it
does not give any pain to your body at that time.
Because you are a cool person, right?
But the same thing, the same bad habit, after 4 years,
after 5 years, when you will be 22-23 years old, then it
will give you such a bad problem in your back that there is
no limit to it.
And I have experienced this thing.
And you know that I had a deadlift injury because of it.
And even if there is no injury, when you will be 25 years
old, you will realize that my posture is absolutely bad.
And then it is very difficult to fix it.
Not impossible, but it is very difficult.
And it is not just a matter of health, walk straight, your
posture defines your confidence on an outer level.
Next thing which I personally really wish that I would have
done, maybe I would have started my content career early
because of it.
Whatever information you are taking, you have to document
everything.
For example, whenever you are reading a book, article, or
research paper in college, so what I generally used to do,
I just read it and thought in my mind, yes, I have read
everything, I understood everything. But whenever you are
reading a book or reading
any material or watching any podcast, anything that is
contributing to your learning, you have to make its notes.
And these notes should be actionable.
That means, what can I do by reading this or reading this?
And even if you are not making actionable notes, then you
have to at least show your feelings there.
That how did I feel after reading this?
Because my brother, please trust me, when you are under the
age of 24-25, especially during college time, then it is a
little difficult to comprehend things. So, the best way is
that whatever you read or listen, document it at one place
and write it,
so that you can visit it again and grow yourself through it.
For example, even now, if I read any book, then I literally
make notes in the pages from different colored pens.
In fact, I will say that if you are doing this activity in
college, then start putting all this on a blog along with
your notes, so that maybe you become an audience and maybe
you become a creator.
Next tip is, connect people.
No, I mean you don't have to become a Nokia company.
Basically, I didn't do this thing in my college and I
regret it.
You have to try to connect different people who are in
different friend groups.
I know that there is a lot of anxiety as soon as you enter
college, that how will you make friends?
You feel that no one will like you.
You feel that I have a lot of shortcomings, the rest is so
good here.
So, your insecurities also come out like that.
Then you start making excuses to yourself that I am an
introvert,
I shouldn't even have friends.
Look, first of all, all the people who have come to your
college, everyone has this insecurity, everyone has this
anxiety.
And you also realize that the friend groups that are
formed, they are formed with the initiative of someone or
the other.
So, why can't you be that person? Now, I am not saying that
go and shout in front of everyone, brother, please be my
friend.
I am saying that the person you like, you also connect with
them and make them connect with each other. For example,
invite them to your hostel room or set up a WhatsApp group.
Or plan to reach the class at the same time in the morning.
And anyway, when others see that you are a person who takes
charge, that you are a person who leads, then obviously,
your image becomes better.
And I agree that you will go to college and break it.
I also broke it.
I joined clubs, I joined societies.
I was on top in them.
I took my grades properly.
I did the projects properly.
I worked hard for the job.
I did everything.
But I made a small mistake.
Which I personally don't regret.
But if you are such a person who lives in a little more
emotional needs, then if you make the same mistake as me,
then you will definitely regret it.
That mistake is that, instead of inviting people over to my
hostel room in the evening, or going to someone else's
hostel room, or having fun with another friend, instead of
all these things,
I used to watch a movie or a show.
Now, I am not saying that you should sacrifice your
personal self-care time.
I am just saying that instead of watching Netflix while
lying down, it is much better that you spend time with your
friends.
Have engaging, deep conversations with them.
Because the more you expose yourself in front of people,
the more deep connections you will have.
And the more chances you will have to become friends with
good people.
Which will ultimately add value to your life.
And you also know that the more valuable connections you
make, the more chances of your success you are increasing.
I will explain this to you properly in a separate video.
Next point is that, no matter how someone is in college,
you have to talk to them in the most kind way.
You don't have to be mean to anyone.
I have already explained this to you in the previous videos.
The next tip is that you have to get into the habit of
investing.
With a very small monthly amount.
I am not asking you to trade.
I am asking you to invest.
I don't want to give any financial advice.
But if I had come to my senses in college, then I would
have definitely invested Rs.
500 minimum every month in an index fund.
The next very important tip, which is not only for college.
If I tell you literally, it is for life.
Nothing is good after 11 o'clock.
I have already told you this.
Why do you think that I sleep early?
After 11 o'clock, the world goes to s**t.
Everyone goes to s**t.
No one says anything good.
Now, the night before the exam is obviously different.
Then the adrenaline inside you is running so much that
there is no limit to it.
I am talking about a normal day.
If you are sitting with your friends on a normal day,
partying, chatting, etc.
The return of that conversation is good only till 11
o'clock or maximum at 12 o'clock.
Whether it is in value or in fun.
Whatever it is, any type of return.
After that point, everyone is in a state of lethargy.
Nothing can be fun.
And the same goes for if you are with your friends, whether
in college or anywhere, you have gone to party.
That party is only good till a certain point.
After that, you know that you are just pulling that night.
Nothing good is left in that night.
What will happen with that?
Your night was also wasted.
You will also have a headache the next day.
Because of sleeping less or getting up late, your next day
will also be ruined. You will only sleep for 1 or 2 hours
extra at night.
You can't believe how great your next day will be.
I am thinking of making a separate video on sleep.
The world's biggest superpower is to sleep properly.
The next tip is, no matter how cool you become, if you want
to run the college life smoothly, then do it secretly.
But make a study routine.
I learned this in my third year.
And because of this, I started saving so much time.
Just because every day or every other day,
I used to revise things with my study partner for 10-15
minutes.
There is a great thing in the human mind at your age.
The simple fact is that if you are repeating something
every day, then it gets engraved in your mind.
And if you are a person who studies one night before the
exam, then you will definitely get stressed. On top of
that, you will just vomit in the exam.
You won't remember anything else.
And I will also tell you that, there is nothing cool about
not studying in college. I know you find it very cool to
tell people,
I didn't study anything.
I didn't study anything.
Who studies?
They take exams.
There is nothing cool about it.
I was the coolest person in my college on campus.
I used to revise twice a week.
Now tell me.
The next very important tip is that, you are in college,
you are a kid, and everyone around you is a college kid.
So you don't have to worry too much about their opinions.
Because to tell you the truth, the good people are not
thinking anything about you. You just feel that if you go
to a college event or go to class, everyone is looking at
me, everyone must be thinking about me.
No one cares.
Everyone has their own problems.
Everyone has their own insecurities.
Everyone has their own anxieties.
Half of the people you meet, must be going through some
mental health problem.
And when you graduate, whether from school or college,
after 10 years, when you meet that person again, he will
talk to you with a lot of love.
The next tip, which is such a thing that,
I wish I could go back in time and tell myself, is that you
have to have a positive mindset.
For this, I will give you a little back story.
When I entered IIT,
I felt that I entered by mistake.
I mean, I got so many marks from some magic and I entered.
And everyone here is much better than me.
Yes, I can accept that, 99% of the people there will be
more intelligent than me.
I can't say anything.
But I shouldn't have kept this ideology that they are
better than me.
Because I thought,
F**k, this is IIT.
It will be difficult.
Life will be difficult here.
And I have to go through this difficulty.
I should have asked myself, how difficult it should be, to
go to college for a kid.
Because ultimately, if you have made a college for a kid,
then it is as difficult as that level.
And by the way, Tim Ferriss, who has written Tools of
Titans, and a lot of great books, which I like a lot.
He says that, if this was easy, then how would it have
been? So that's why when I entered IIT, I thought,
F**k, first year in IIT.
This is a crazy thing.
It's a big deal.
And because it's a big deal, it should be very difficult.
And I was very late.
in the third year, I realized that it's not that difficult.
Which clearly means that in the first two years, I was
roaming in anxiety unnecessarily,
I was roaming in insecurities unnecessarily, which was not
needed, it was not a big deal.
Now I am not saying that don't work hard on anything by
saying it is easy, but keep this in mind and have such a
positive mindset that if you are working hard on something,
then you will be successful.
Bro, the next tip which I have definitely done and I am
proud of myself for that, you have to learn in an efficient
way in college.
The biggest influence of which is that it is okay if you
are skipping classes.
Now don't show this to your professor, I know that skipping
class causes attendance problem.
You manage that yourself, you see how you maintain 70-80%
of your attendance.
By the way, how much is there in your college? Tell me in
the comments below how much minimum is required.
You see how you will maintain that.
But let me give you my personal example.
I had some courses in which if your attendance was less
than 75%, then they won't let you take exams. So I made
75%, but it was also there that if it was less than 90% and
more than 75% attendance, then you will get one grade less.
I didn't care about it at all.
You give me one grade less, but I won't take unnecessary
stress to come to class.
I was in photography and film club.
If my plan is that we are going to go on a photo walk and
so I will have to miss a lecture, f**k the lecture bro.
One grade will be less, it won't make any difference in my
life.
And anyway, 60-70% of the time, the professors bring their
slide deck,
they read from it and say, what will happen if you miss the
lecture?
So yes, just take the lecture notes after the class and
revise it for 15-20 minutes or half an hour on the weekend.
And in general, you will have to learn to study a little
efficiently.
Because now you feel that you will get a lot out of just
reading notes or writing notes again.
Or you will get a lot out of underlining or highlighting
with different colored pens in your book.
But you are not realizing that there are some scientific
techniques with which you can make your studies more
effective, more efficient, more productive.
There are a lot of videos on YouTube about these things, go
and watch them.
And put those methods in your life so that your time is
saved and you learn better.
Next very important tip, which again I did in college and I
am really proud that I did.
You have to earn passive income in college.
Now here the focus is not on earning a specific amount.
But it is on the fact that you have become capable of it
that you are starting to earn in college.
For example, if you read Tim Ferriss's book 4-Hour Work
Week, then you will realize how easy it is to make a
passive income source. And please I am requesting, if
someone comes to you and says that he is in college now,
what will he do by doing all this,
please don't listen to him. College is the best time to do
this.
Because now the thing is that there is no special value of
your time.
So in this time, the new things you will learn, not just
skills, but how to earn with those skills.
If you learn this thing too, if you complete the whole
circle, then there will be crazy progress in your life.
And bro, trust me, it is possible that now you have learned
video editing or graphic design skills and you are getting
300 rupees for one graphic design.
So maybe you are earning as much as you earn in a month,
looking at that you might be thinking that this is just
pocket money, I am not earning anything crazy.
But don't think like this.
Because after college, after 5-6 years, when your passive
income would have been compounded, or because of that
passive income skill, your main business would be going on,
or your great job would be going on, then you will say
thank you so much to your
college time, which is not the limit.
Because bro, it is not about money.
The thing is that you have learned a skill, then by making
a product out of that skill or directly selling that skill
to a person, and you are taking money from him.
And a better learning experience than this, I don't think
anything can happen in that age.
Bro, I used to edit videos for start-ups, and that whole
process of talking to the start-up, that okay, we will lock
the deal in this much time, after that for them, shooting
and editing that video, and then giving them the product,
then after that taking
money from them, this whole cycle was such a great learning
experience, which is not the limit.
So, the whole process of making something and monetizing it
is an art.
Learning that is very important for you at this time.
And not just looking at how much money I am earning.
And one more small tip, don't tell anyone how much money
you are earning, because especially in India, earning money
is considered in such an evil way.
Next tip is that bro, please try to enjoy your whole
journey.
Your under-graduation is going to happen only once in your
life, and college is going to be a very bad experience. And
when you graduate, you will regret that I was only seeing
success, success, success, achievement, achievement in
college, that I didn't
enjoy it. So, don't do this at all.
Thankfully, I don't have this regret.
I have done a lot of nonsense in college, so I enjoyed it.
So, you also don't stop your fun.
One more very important tip for college is that you have to
be a little collaborative.
I know, especially in my college, there were a lot of
people who were like, no, no, I will not share my notes
with you, I will not tell you this thing. Bro, all these
people, first of all, these type of people could not come
to my college, because such
people can never come.
Still, all those who came, they could not do anything
special in life, because until your mind is not of a
collaborative mindset, you are not going to build anything
with people, till then you can't do anything special in
life.
And along with that, bro, share your notes, your work,
without any expectation that you will get something in
return.
Because you have to see things like exams in such a way
that you have to give that exam to the whole class. Don't
think that if I tell him wrong, then he will earn some
marks, then I will get more. If you get into all these
things, you will not get anything
in life, but your own mind will get worse.
You will become a negative personality.
Because it is not that you are sharing some very big
business papers with them.
If you are a college student, then you are sharing some
notes of a subject, it has no value in real life.
In fact, you will start inculcating this value in college
itself, that bro, you have to work in a collaborative way,
how to work together with people, then that skill will be
very useful in your life.
So bro, these were the 15 things that I think will help you
a lot in college.
Apart from this, take photos, videos of your friends, take
selfies, play with your hands, do activities, take all
these things later, watching all the content later is a lot
of fun. And who knows, if you compile all of them and start
putting reel, then
you become a content creator.
You never know.
And yes, if you want more learnings related to college, and
want to learn some more skills, for example, our time
management course is coming, etc.
Keep an eye on our website.
We haven't planned anything properly yet, but let's see
what happens.
Look your best, feel your best, and be your best.
