How to WIN LANE - One Simple Tip - Laning Guide Dota 2
Summary
TLDRThe video script reveals a key strategy used by high MMR players in Dota 2 to dominate their lanes early on. It emphasizes the importance of shifting focus from creeps to creating 2v1 situations with your lane partner. By identifying and exploiting these opportunities before the enemy reaches their power spikes, players can secure an advantage. The script uses examples to illustrate how to effectively communicate with your partner, match their aggression, and trade efficiently to win lanes, ultimately leading to a higher net worth and better game performance.
Takeaways
- 🎯 High MMR players often secure lane advantages early by focusing on creating and exploiting 2V1 situations in the laning phase.
- ⏳ The first 4 minutes of the laning phase are crucial, as this is when heroes level up and players demonstrate their skills, setting the tone for the rest of the game.
- 🤝 Cooperation between the core and support in the lane is essential for establishing a strong early game presence and winning trades.
- 🛡 Lower MMR players often overlook the importance of 2V1 situations, focusing instead on farming and denying creeps, which is less impactful for dominating the lane.
- 🔄 High MMR players prioritize trading repeatedly in 2V1 situations to gain an advantage before the enemy reaches their power spike levels (3, 4, 5, 6).
- 🌐 Vision should shift from solely focusing on creeps to watching your lane partner's actions and opportunities for coordinated attacks.
- 📣 Communication is key; use pings, text, or voice chat to coordinate with your lane partner for effective 2V1 scenarios.
- 🚫 Avoid overextending in the lane without support, as this can lead to being punished by the enemy team in a counter-gank situation.
- 💡 Recognize when to back off and when to engage in a 2V1 trade based on health, resources, and the level of your heroes.
- 🛑 It's important to assess the level advantage and hero matchups, but during levels 1 to 3, most heroes are relatively balanced, making early 2V1 trades valuable.
- 🎖️ High MMR players execute lane actions as a coordinated unit, maximizing the effectiveness of every creep hit, deny, and trade as a 2V1 effort.

Transcripts
have you ever wondered how high MMR
players always seem to win their Lanes
against lower MMR players there's
actually one simple thing that high MMR
players are all abusing to secure
advantage over their opening in Lane as
early as possible today I'll be teaching
you to identify the exact same thing
that high MMR players always do so that
you can also win your lanes every time
if you like my content please consider
clicking on the like comment and
subscribe button also if you're
interested in getting coached by me the
do check the description box down below
with that it let's dive right into
it so when it comes to the laning phase
most of the outcome in Lane is heavily
decided by what happens during the first
4 minutes of the lane this is where
Heroes will go from level one to level
tree and players will showcase their
laning fundamentals and mechanical
skills during the early parts of the
lane the most important laning element
is to secure your advantage as early as
you can in order to do this you need to
shift your vision from looking at creeps
24/7 of the time towards looking at what
your partner in Lane is doing creating
and abusing 2V1 situations early on is
one of the most overlooked variable in
lower MMR players they tend to think
that the laning phas is all about
getting more L sit and denies pulling
cams all the time positioning at a
specific part of the lane supports
protecting cors to farm in lane and
leaving Lane to deward or block cams if
you really want to dominate your lanes
none of the these factors matter more
than trading repeatedly of 2V1
situations let's use some examples to
demonstrate this okay so for our first
example what we have here is a Luna and
skyf playing against a Dawnbreaker and
wi doctor now knowing the matchup Dawn
breaker at 345 is going to completely
destroy this Lane of Luna and skyf right
in order to mitigate the outcome where
Luna is going to start losing the lane
badly he needs to start abusing all the
2V1 traits he can find as early as
possible by matching his partner in lane
and same goes for Sky MCH to match the
Luna in Lane so whenever you guys see an
opening like this you can see how Luna
is going to constantly look for these
openings of 2V1 to trade you need to
start taking it as soon as you
can right what tends to happen in low
MMR games is they always will be farming
Crips behind and hitting the Crips here
while the support at the side is just
trying to harass the enemy hero and gets
put into to the 1 V2 scenario instead so
instead of this happening you guys
should be the aggressor of
2V1 if you can start identifying these
openings earlier than the opening and
you sustain faster than them with regen
you just need to repeatedly spam this
2V1 trats over and over again before the
enemy gets to their power Spike of 3 4 5
six right in order to create that
opening to secure Advantage as early as
you can so now we see that Luna right
off the bat already has a higher net
worth than Dawn breaker and she's
preventing that Dawn breaker from
getting strong in Lane now knowing that
the D breaker has died and is tipping
back to the Lane this is again another
2V1 scenario where this Luna needs to
now start communicating with the Ping
there that hey let's start diving this
guy before the D breaker comes back to
Lane okay this is matching your partner
in Lane so if you want your partner to
do something Lane make sure you
communicate that with them whether that
be through pings text or voice chat
right make sure you say something or you
ping something otherwise they will not
know
okay so once again you see how the witch
doctor has died earlier D breaker died
now witch doctor died they're going to
die for that 2V1 tra again immediately
when Sky
spawns so it's a really good opening
right off the bat to constantly go like
2V1 2 V1 set up their advantage early on
now the networth
for Luna goes really really high
compared to the D breaker and she just
needs to sustain back into the
lane okay so let's move on to another
example to show you this okay this time
around we have Ursa and grimstroke
playing against X and Oracle in Lane so
some trading has already happened in the
lane uh earlier on and a 2V1 scenario is
about to pop out where you're going to
see these two heroes are going to go
into the a all right okay okay so right
here you can see the x is approaching
Eartha really close and he runs out of
position right there right off the bat
two of them are already getting onto the
X right paying for spells trying to
communicate that hey this guys are a
position let's fight them so if you guys
see the 2V1 scenario once again make
sure you abuse it of course try and keep
your health High assess your level
advantage and number of her advantage to
an extent hero match up will matter yeah
but level one to three most heroes are
not that far apart at least not at level
one and two so abuse the openings you
have early on before we continue with
this video I would like to quickly
introduce to you Dota 2 prot tracker the
top Dota 2 website to get your resources
from about upto dat meta builds and hero
picks if you are not already using Dota
2 prot tracker to learn more about the
game be sure to check it out with that
said let's get back to the
video okay so this one we will go
through from the offlane perspective so
in this Lane we see the Magnus and ogre
clearly sandwiching the line line has
moved the operation so this makes this a
2V1 scenario for
them as such they're going to have to
take the trade because it'll be veryable
to them right so they start trading
start trading chase after lion take a
good start on him that is the 2V1 we
want then immediately line drops really
low so already that's a one trade for
them yes Magnus does lose some health
but he has won the trade heavily so he
just has to recover before the enemy
does and he's going to win the lane
again all right okay but now you see the
situation has reversed where now the
ogre is the one hiding in tree and
Magnus is the one being 2V1 instead by
the enemy so the enemies are able to
identify this knowing that magus's
health is low pl's health is high the
carrier's health is high and they can
just Tov one and fight this guy so
they're going to start walking up and
trading this Magnus so if the Magnus
knows what's happening he just has to
pull Argo and run away right and if
you're playing very high memory games
every time you walk out of position like
this and the enemies see you alone
they're going to start punishing you
like very
so you guys should be learning to apply
the same concept here where every time
you are up against a hero that's alone
even for like one or two seconds start
the trade immediately start throwing
spells start making plays and just run
the guy down before his partner comes
back in Lane because of this Magnus is
going to die he has no spells and right
off the bat that gives P really a good
start despite them having done a good
trade on line early now the opener does
a good trade on them because Magnus ran
operation in very good players you're
going to rarely see Heroes like this
where they run out op position Magnus
run out position so if you really want
to play the lane really well everything
is done together 2 V1 2 V1 every creep
every deny every trade is done 2v one so
we always winning the trade as early as
possible okay even there drops half
health because Magnus has
died all right so for our last example
we have D breaker and lion playing
against slark and snapfire in the safe
Lane here we see an opening where lion
and snap is trading so D breaker has to
see what the line is doing to follow up
on right this player cannot be farming
creeps here he has to match the support
to do things together to trade together
so they're going to dive and fight the
snap
fire now there opening jumps on
Lion dawn has to move up to protect the
lion so Tov one once again zone right do
it together so here slar is alone
getting ped by D breaker tov1 take trade
again right good trade drop low that is
fine okay over here is an example where
2V1 is done wrongly so snap fire and
slar are clearly quad Health into a line
and Dawn breaker has spawned like for 10
seconds so clearly Dawn breaker has been
coming back to Lane them going on the
line here is not the right move because
they are too low so going on them like
this will make them get counter ganged
right and they already level three and
four so when you guys want to do 2V1 you
still have to ensure that your health
your resources are high level is high
health is high before you attempt to 2 V
one otherwise it is going to backfire on
you basically yeah so if you're level
one 2 three you want to trade to V1 make
sure your health is high to trade so
it's
good also note that if your support is
too far away like trading here and you
are a core that's farming and lot
sitting here if it's too far to connect
to don't bother right only go if it's
something that's right beside you or you
can connect to without giving up too
many creeps so normally something like
this to this like something like this to
this okay definitely not something like
here where the support is fighting for
Bounty Rune and this car decides to
leave the lane and runs their support
not like that okay it's something that
you can connect to all right guys so
that's for this video a very simple
video but one of the best advice I can
give you uh that I practically apply
myself and most of the high M players
are doing this to start zoning as early
as possible in linee so trade 2 v1s
trade as early as possible to mitigate
hero matchup differences where Heroes
get strong 4 five6 onwards right I hope
this video has been helpful and I'll see
you guys in the next one again all right
peace
