[Music]
yeah wel on everybody welcome back you
your boy kamani Brown and today we're
going to be speaking about lav
microphones right now with the Advent of
the release of the DJI pocket 3 which is
what I'm filming with right now the DJI
mic was actually released with it and
recently it was was released as a
standalone product where you get two
microphones etc etc however as you guys
can see right now this thing can be
pretty sizable right it's sort of you
know I don't know how you feel about it
being in a shot I don't really quite
like it tends to crumple the shirt and
all of that so that's where this comes
in right this is the DJI lavalier
microphone this thing cost about 45
bucks give or take
and let's hear how it Stacks up to this
the Sony after you read the Box people
ECM
lv1 lavalier microphone right two big
household names in the filming industry
at the moment this box does not need to
be this big trust me you guys will soon
see why now I've never actually tested
these before to be quite Frank I just
thought I wanted to level up my setup by
not having this big old thing here the
sound quality from this thing is awesome
I'm actually using it right now so you
guys can use that as the Baseline and
now this now that you're looking at
right here is the Sony I have to read
the Box again people e
ECM lv1 yeah it is actually a stereo
microphone as you guys can see it has
left and right audio channels for stereo
sound which is actually pretty good
versus the DJI mic which we're going to
get into right now I literally just got
this one today so it's still in this bag
and everything right out of the bag I'm
assuming it can still record in Stereo
or mono but it's a much smaller package
I love the fact that you can actually
turn it here it has different Stock
points so you can angle it however you
really and truly please I love that and
this one yes you can rotate it however
it's not as premium feeling it doesn't
really click into place as much but what
matters is the audio quality and that's
what we're going to get into next Now
using the DJI microphone
2 or the DJI wireless mic 2 these names
are getting complicated using this as a
baseline we going to get into this so
let's just start with the Sony snap this
in and just for the hell of it let me
remove this so that I don't know if it's
going to cause an interference or not
but I rather not chance it actually had
it connected with this
magnet thing which it comes with so
let's just drop that there put that
aside and clip on the
Sony for realistic purposes you're going
to want to run it under the
shirt and have
it right here you guys should be hearing
it right now actually as I fix it so
yeah it's not
so it's not so low key it's still a bit
sizable especially with the pop filter
that's attached to it at the moment but
let's see so this is it the Sony EC God
I can't this name the Sony ECM lv1
microphone this is how it sounds right
now just to let you guys hear
how it handles loud
noises yeah the DJI mic actually has a
built-in feature it's 32bit float so it
should give you consistent audio quality
whether you're shoting or Whispering so
you guys can let me know I'm whispering
right now how does it sound with the
Sony microphone connected to the DJI mic
let me know right this is me speaking
back here normal audio so yeah that's it
I mean it's a bit big but let's see how
it Stacks up against the DJI mic yet
again I'm not hearing any of this this
is fresh for me guys can let me know in
the comments what you think which one ss
better than the other now this one I
don't think I mentioned the price at the
very beginning this is actually 20 bucks
very cheap especially for a Sony product
this surprised me so I had to test this
out right funny enough I didn't want
both of them B this literally a week
later the DJI lav mic came out with the
Standalone DJI mic 2 package I had to
get this I love their products people
but let's see which one is a
winner enough enough of the Sony and
let's just connect this thing and hear
how it
sounds all
right I didn't use a mirror anything to
fix this so may not be so neat but
whatever this is right impromptu on
camera live even color yet again don't
know how it sounds but this is me
speaking at normal audio normal volume
you guys can let me know how I sound in
the comments and this is me shouting how
do I sound with a 32bit float feature on
the DJI wireless mic too how do I sound
I'm now Whispering now if this thing
works just as how it works on this it
should be pretty awesome I should sound
the same so let me know all right as in
O Shan again
but I love this one personally it's
lighter it's a lot smaller I actually
don't feel it any at all and it's very
low key I could probably even hide it
further under my shirt so you wouldn't
be the wiser that I'm actually wearing a
microphone I could probably remove the
pop filter as well and it should make it
a fair bit smaller so let's see how it
actually looks without
it there we go oh it's actually much
much smaller have a look at that much
smaller and I actually like that the pop
filter has a little sturdy
rubber hole here so yeah this is pretty
nice nice touch the microphone itself is
Tiny very small let me actually clip
that back on so you guys can see how it
looks right
here look at that yo this is this is a
tiny look at that it just looks like a
little spec on my shirt
color all
right I love this this is this is nice
this is pretty good so style function
maybe I don't know I'll hear in post you
guys can let me know in the comments
what you think about this thing which
one you think sounds the best and if you
wish to check out either one of them
I'll leave links in the description
below two very affordable lavalier
microphones you don't have to use the
DJI mic to with them they can work with
the road Wireless go the new road
Wireless Go Pro I don't know what the
name is but the new one the DJI wireless
mic one of course and any other wireless
microphone that supports 3.5 mm audio
out now I forgot to mention this the DJI
mic actually has a hole here right up in
there that you can stick
this close it down there you go it
clamps down onto the cable pretty much
so it gives it quite a fair bit of
resistance so it protects the cable no
pull outs or anything like that it's
actually very a very simple solution
others like the road wireless microphone
actually have something here that you
can actually screw on the external mics
not every external mic has that feature
such as this microphone and the Sony
microphone
of course so this comes in clutch it's
more Universal and it really grips the
cable I have to actually pull it a fair
bit to get it to pull through and when
you hit the limit it really does protect
it so yeah that's that's a nice touch
DJI I give a thumbs up for that but
that's it people I'm actually finishing
this up with the DJI mic 2 raw and by
itself right again I'm using that
magnetic clip to have it on my shirt
right now so you guys can know from the
very beginning and at the end how it
stocks up against those external
microphones both from DJI themselves and
Sony right they're both quite affordable
the Sony of course being half the price
of well I was about to say this thing
but
of this thing here which I love I
haven't attached back the pop filter but
that's fine it is tiny as hell yo it's
even smaller than the clip pretty much
have a look at that
that's pretty cool I love this so yeah I
love this thing and I really and Tru
hope that it sounds better than the Sony
because this is the one I really want to
use so let me know what you think in the
description below which one out of the
three sounds the best to you regardless
of anything if you already have a road
Wireless go system or the DJI mic one
both of those external mics will work
perfectly fine it will level up your gft
game make your videos a lot cleaner but
this doesn't look too bad as is I don't
like it not sure if you guys do but
that's it people thanks for tuning in
you don't know I appreciate as usual a
like subscribe and of course hitting
that little notification Bell so you
know when the next video is out see you
guys in the next one peace and take
care
