What is a '50/50 gunfight' in Valiant according to the script?

How can utility be used to create an unfair advantage in gunfights?

-Engaging in non-advantageous fights can lead to unnecessary losses. It's better to dictate the terms of engagement by always fighting within your weapon's ideal range.
What is the significance of map awareness in improving gunfight outcomes?
-Map awareness allows players to time their actions better by peeking off teammates and utility, rather than focusing solely on their crosshair, which can prevent falling for bait setups.
Why should players avoid 'tunnel vision' during gunfights?
-Tunnel vision can lead to missing important information on the mini map and teammates' positioning, which is crucial for winning gunfights and avoiding being baited.
What is the recommended approach when playing with an Eco round and a Spectre?

Transcripts
let's face it you're sick and tired of
this [ __ ] all you're trying to do is
rank up in valerant but every time you
queue into a ranked game it feels like
the enemy jet is demon one and you just
can't win a gunfight maybe you've tried
going to the range or even something
like Kovac or aim Labs but trust me when
I say that it's not always about aim or
having a better monitor or a better
keyboard in fact what I'm going to cover
in this video will instantly make you a
better player as long as you make a
conscious effort to form some good
habits in game to understand why we lose
gunfights we need to take a look at what
a fair gunfight looks like a common
fight that attackers and Defenders love
to take is between tree and belink on
Ascent to ensure that it is a fair
gunfight a couple of assumptions need to
be in place firstly both players are of
perfectly equal skill level secondly
both players are playing at zero ping
and thus peer's Advantage is
non-existent lastly no utility was
thrown this round and both players have
a vandal and full Shields this is known
as a 50/50 gunfight and it's one that
many players would normally take but if
our goal is to rank up quickly in
valerant we don't want to be winning
only 50% of our fights ideally you want
to create as much of a unfair Advantage
as possible by increasing your odds of
winning a gunfight and no I'm not
talking about using wall hacks there are
several ways you can get an unfair
advantage in game the first and easiest
way is using utility to help secure
kills when enemies are stunned blinded
or revealed it makes it much harder for
them to shoot back why would you give
your opponent a fair fight when you
could easily create an unfair Advantage
with utility so the next time instead of
dry peaking an angle call for some
utility from your team to make it easier
for yourself the second way to create an
unfair Advantage is to always play
within your weapon effective range every
weapon inv valerant has a Zone in which
they are mathematically likely to come
out on top the most obvious ones would
be an operator controlling an area with
long sight lines and a judge holding a
space at close range I know this may
sound like common sense but a lot of
players tend to autopilot without paying
attention to the overall economy of the
game like why do we keep pushing hookah
when we literally know that there's a
judge in there
what what the [ __ ] like I said you need
to be aware of the game's economy and
try to take fights that are advantageous
to you a common scenario that you would
find yourself in is having a spectre on
round three after winning pistol and
buying on round two rather than take a
fight from heaven where you are unlikely
to come out on top as much as possible
try and dictate the terms of the
engagement by always fighting within the
spectre's ideal range going for a flank
also wouldn't be the worst idea since
you're on an Eco anyway which is the
best time to take risks because you're
not worried about losing the weapon
anyway the third and final tip is to
make it a habit to look at the mini map
rather than Tunnel Vision on your own
Crosshair to start I'm actually going to
Showcase a negative example from my own
ranked games I want you to pay close
attention to the mini map and my
teammate's
positioning Spike down
a last player
[Applause]
standing in this scenario I already gave
the info that enemy Ray is Hell due to a
well-time dismiss but for some reason
jet is looking the other way instead of
peeking off my contact if jet actually
paid more attention to what was
happening around him it would literally
be a free kill on the enemy rays but I'm
not just trying to Flame jet here a lot
of ranked players tend to Tunnel Vision
on their Crosshair which is why bait
setups can be so
devastating even though this is what
they see on their screen in reality this
is what they actually see having better
map awareness will allow you to take
better time
by peeking off your teammates and
utility in short you don't have to grind
aim Labs or Kovacs every single day to
become a better player there are plenty
of pro players with below average aim
but win gunfights based on their
Superior positioning and game sense
that's all from me and I'll see you in
the next video
