hello future engineers
join me in another interesting learning
adventure in the practical world of
technology and livelihood education
this module is for grade a dle student
specializing in technical drafting this
is module one
lesson one of the first quarter i am
pixar ed
your learning partner for today's lesson
this module focuses on the lesson use
the mantle's adequate beds
after working on the activities in this
bozo we're expected to
list hand tools used in technical
drafting based on job requirements
identify appropriate hand tools use a
technical drafting
and specifying hand tools and technical
drafting according to function and tax
requirements
now are you ready and excited to learn
[Applause]
that sounds great i have also friends
who are so
excited to learn about today's lesson
meet troy
and liza roy and liza are aspiring
entrepreneurs
they want to be technical drafters
someday
they're excited about the handles they
could use in a field or workplace
what should they do what are the
possible handles they're going to use
let's help them learn and discover
before we begin
let's have first a brain exercise
i have here scrambled words what you
need to do is to arrange this to form
the word that is being described by the
given statement
and its corresponding picture you'll be
given 10 seconds
to give you the correct answer are you
ready
all right let's start with the first
number
a type of pencil when extreme accuracy
is required
[Music]
number two it is used to clean the dirt
of the drawing
number three an instrument used for
transferring measurements
[Music]
number four type of pencils used for a
general purpose
in drawing
[Music]
and number five it is used to determine
gradations of the degrees
when measuring arcs angles and circles
did you all get the correct answers to
each scrambled words
great job are you familiar with those
words
fantastic those are some of the great
variety of materials and tools to use in
technical drafting
for today's lesson i'm just going to
present the basic ones
but sufficient enough for your initial
understanding about technical drafting
are you excited to know more of them
that's good to hear
come on have yourself learning goals
already and let's get started
the different drafting materials and
tools its uses and functions are as
follows
drawing paper various types of drawing
papers are available for use
but hard and soft surface drawing papers
are highly recommended to be the best
this type does not grow easily when
pressure is applied to the pencil
osteopaper is commonly used but on paper
is also recommended
masking tape this is used for fastening
the drawing paper on the drawing table
or drawing board because it does not
damage the board it will
damage the paper if it is removed by
pulling it off
pencil sharpener it is used to sharpen
pencil whenever it shows sign of
dullness
it comes with various types and designs
which are available
in store eraser this is used to clean
the dirt of the drawing
a soft eraser is advantageous in
removing smudges and pencil marks
whereas a harder eraser is useful for
making changes
and correcting errors in the drawing
drawing pencil this is one of the most
important tools in drawing it comes at
various grades
the grade of pencil to be used depends
on the quality of paper to be used
you have to take into consideration also
the type of line
work required there are three types of
drawing pencils
the hard pencils which are used for
extreme accuracy is required
specially working on graphs diagrams
and tarts the medium pencils which are
used for general purpose work in drawing
and the soft pencils which are too soft
to be used
in mechanical drafting and very useful
for artwork for various kind
those are some of the drafting tools and
materials
now let's proceed with the measuring
tools
t-square it is a drawing instrument
used when making horizontal lines it is
also used for guiding triangles
when drawing vertical lines it is made
of wood
plastic or the combination of both
there are three types of t-square namely
the fix head movable or adjustable head
and the detachable or removable head how
does three types of t-square differ from
one another
for fix head its head is fastened to the
blade
and it's used for ordinary work while
the movable head or adjustable head
has one fix and one adjustable head
and used only for occasional drawing
while the detachable or removable head
is designed for comfort when carrying
the t-square
now let's move on to the next measuring
tool which is the triangle
this is a three-sided ruler which
typically has two equal sides
meeting at a 90 degree angle and a third
side at 45
30 including 60 degree angles
it is usually made of plastic and comes
in different sizes
if in use the base of the triangle must
rest on the blade
of the t-square drawing a line always
starts from the point needle base going
upward
commonly used triangles are 30 degrees
by
60 degrees and 45 degrees by 45 degrees
compass this is used when drawing arcs
and circles
it is used in a similar way to a divider
it is composed of one with a pen leg and
the needle point leg being held together
with a handle
this drawing instruments can be used for
both penciling
and inking divider this is used when
transferring measurements
dividing lines and arcs into the desired
number of equal parts
it can easily transfer accurate
measurements by adjusting the divider
points
constant correct practice is necessary
before doing an
actual work for a quick and easy console
when you use
[Music]
ruler this is sometimes called a rule or
line gauge
a device that is used for tactical
drafting
it is also used to master distances are
draw straight
and vertical lines and lastly we have
the protractor
this is a semi-circular instrument
divided into 180 equal parts
each of which is called a degree
it is used to determine the gradations
of a scale
or series of degrees when measuring arcs
angles and circles high quality
protractor
is usually made of plastic
since you have already identified the
different hand tools as well as its
classification
let us do the activity on page 14-15 in
your self-learning mojo
before we begin what we have there in
page 15
that's right it's a word puzzle
in the given puzzle let's encircle the
10 drafting materials
tools and instruments reading maybe
vertically
horizontally backward upward or downward
let's do this for two minutes
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
so
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
so
[Music]
since the time is over it's also about
time to check
our answers let's start in circling
those drafting materials tools or
instruments are written horizontally
we have pencil sharpener and triangles
[Music]
now let's proceed with the materials
tools or instruments
written vertically we have protractor
drawing pencils drawing paper
and divider and lastly
let's proceed with the materials tools
or instruments
written diagonally we have
masking tape eraser
t-square and compass
[Music]
those are the 10 graphic materials tools
and
instruments found in the word positive
have you also encircled all of them
that sounds great now it's time for you
to do the activity 6 and your module on
page 16.
what you have to do is to label and
classify the pictures
according to its function and task
requirements is it for growing materials
or for measuring tubes you will only be
given another two minutes to finish the
[Music]
activity
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
so
[Music]
how was the activity did you enjoy it
that's good to hear now let's check your
answers
let's begin with the first picture
can you tell me what is this very good
a protractor in which column this
picture belongs
terrific in measuring tools
how about the second picture
that's right a ruler in which column
this picture belongs
that's perfect in measuring tools
how about the third picture
great job a sharpener
in which column this picture belongs
[Music]
magnificent in drawing tools or
materials
how about the fourth picture
correct a divider in which column this
picture belongs
that's right in measuring tools
how about the picture fantastic
a drawing paper in which column this
picture belongs
great job in drawing tools or materials
how about the sixth picture
correct a masking tape in which column
this picture belongs
that's right in drawing tools or
materials
how about the seventh picture
awesome an eraser in which column this
picture belongs
great job in drawing tools or materials
how about the 8th picture fabulous
a t-square in which column this picture
belongs
good job in measuring tools
how about the ninth picture terrific
a compass in which column this picture
belongs
marvelous in measuring tools
how about the thin picture
fantastic these are triangles
in which column this picture belongs
great job in measuring tools
and lastly how about this picture
fantastic this are drawing pencils
and in which column this picture belongs
a great job in drawing tools or
materials
how did you find activity did you enjoy
it
wow that's awesome to hear now that
you've done all the activities very well
get ready for a sword assessment
match the picture in column a with its
use or function in column b
write your answer before the number you
will only be given
one minute to answer this good luck and
have fun
[Music]
[Music]
[Applause]
so
[Music]
time is up now let's check your answer
please be guided with the answer key
flash on your screen
