my topic today which is a warning for

the ages I want to begin by reading you

a vision given to President John Taylor

who was the third President of the

Church of Jesus Christ of latterday

saints and was president of the cor of

the 12 apostles when he received it on

December 16th back in

1877 which is almost 150 years ago its

central theme was regarding the future

of the United States what Elder Taylor

saw in his vision would supposedly take

place in our generation whatever that

means our generation here's what he

described and I quote I went to bed at

my usual hour halfast 9:00 I had been

reading the revelations in the French

language my mind was calm more so than

usual if possible to be so I composed

myself to sleep but could not sleep I

felt a strange stuper come over me and

apparently became partially unconscious

still I was not asleep nor awake I had a

strange far away dreaming feeling the

first thing I recognized was that I was

in the Tabernacle at Ogden that's Ogden

Utah sitting on the back seat in the

corner of the for fear that they would

call me up to preach which after singing

the second time they did by calling me

to the stand I Rose to speak and said I

did not know that I had anything special

um to speak or say except to Bear My

Testimony to the truth of the latterday

work when all at once it seemed as

though I was lifted out of myself and I

said yes I have something to say

it is this some of my brethren present

uh present have been asked me what is

coming to pass what is the wind blowing

up I will answer you right here what is

coming to pass shortly I was immediately

in Salt Lake city wandering about the

streets in all parts of the city and on

the door of the every house I found a

badge of mourning and I could not find a

house but what was in mour I passed by

my own house and saw the same signs

there and asked is that me am I dad

something gave me an answer no you'll

live through it all it seemed strange to

me that I saw no person on the street in

my wandering about through the city they

seem to be in their houses with their

sick and dead I saw no funeral

procession or anything of the kind but

the city looked very still and quiet as

though the people were praying and had

control of the disease whatever it was I

then looked in all directions over the

territory east west north and south and

I found that the same morning in every

place throughout the land the next I

knew I was just this side of Omaha it

seemed as though I was above the Earth

looking down on it as I passed along On

My Way East I saw the roads full of

people principally women with just what

they could carry in bundles on their

backs traveling to the mountains on foot

I wonder what mountains they were that

he referring to here and I wondered how

they could get there with nothing but a

small pack upon their backs it was

remarkable to me that there was so few

men among them it did not seem as though

the cars were running on little research

in 1877 George Seldon of Rochester New

York had designed the first American car

with a petrol Eternal combustion engine

the rails looked Rusty and the roads

abandoned and I have no conception how I

traveled

myself as I looked down upon the people

I continued Eastward through Omaha and

Council Bluffs which were full of

disease and women everywhere as I stated

the state of Missouri and Illinois the

states of Missouri and Illinois were in

turmoil and strife men killing each

other and women joining in the fighting

family against family cutting each other

to pieces in the most horrid manner the

next thing I saw was Washington DC and I

found the city of desolation the White

House empty the halls of Congress

Congress the same everything in ruins

the people seem to have uh fled from the

city and left it to take care of itself

it was next in the I was next in the

city of Baltimore and in the Square

where the Monument of 1812 stands in

front of St Charles and at the hotels I

saw the dead piled up so as to fill the

square I saw mothers cut the throats of

their own children my goodness for the

sake of their blood which they drank

from their veins to quench their thirst

and then die lie down to Die the Waters

of the Chesapeake River and of the city

were so stagnant and such a stench arose

from them on account of the uh put

faction of dead bodies that they were

smell their smell caused death itself

and that was singular again I saw no men

except they were dead lying in the

streets and very few women and they were

crazy mad and in the dying condition

themselves everywhere I went I beheld

the same all over the city and it was

horrible Beyond description to look at I

thought this must be the end but no I

was seemingly in Philadelphia and there

as in Baltimore everything was still

no living Soul was to be seen to uh

greet me and it seemed as though the

whole city was without an inhabitant in

AR the Chestnut Street and Chestnut

Street and in fact everywhere I went the

P putri action of the dead bodies caused

such a stance that it was impossible for

any creature to exist alive nor did I

see any living thing in the city I next

found myself on Broadway New York and

there it seemed the people had done

their best to overcome the disease but

in wandering down Broadway I saw the

bodies of beautiful women lying Stone

dead and others in dying condition on

the sidewalk I saw men crawl out of the

cellers and Rob the dead bodies of the

valuables they had on them and before

they could return to their coverts in

the cellers they themselves would roll

over a time or two and die in

agony on some of the back streets I saw

mothers kill their own children and eat

raw flesh and then in a few minutes die

themselves wherever I went I saw the

same scenes of horror and desolation

rapine and death no horses or carriages

No Buses or street cars but death and

destruction everywhere I then went to

the Grand Central Park and looking back

I saw a fine start and just at that

moment a mighty East Wind sprang up a

fire start and just at that moment a

mighty East Wind sprang up and carried

the Flames West over the city and it

burned until there was not a single

building left standing hole even down to

the wars

and the shipping all seemed to be burned

and swallowed up in the common

destruction and left nothing but a

desolation where the great city was a

short time before the Sten from the

bodies that were burning was so great

that it was carried a great distance

across the Hudson River and Bay and thus

spread disease and death wherever the

Flames penetrated I cannot paint in

words the horror that seemed to

Encompass me around about it was beyond

description or thought of men man to

conceive I suppose this was the end but

I was here given to understand that the

same horror was being enacted all over

the country north south east and west

and that few were left alive still there

were some alive immediately after I

seemed to be standing on the West Bank

of the Missouri River opposite the city

of Independence Missouri but I saw no

City I saw the whole states of Missouri

and Illinois and part of Iowa were a

complete Wilderness with no living human

beings on them I then saw a short

distance from the river 12 men dressed

in the Robes of the temple standing in a

square or nearly so I understood it

represented the 12 gates of the New

Jerusalem and they were with hands

uplifted consecrating the ground and

laying the cornerstones I saw myriads of

angels hovering over them and around

about them and also an IM immense pillar

of a cloud hovering over them and I

heard the angel singing and most

beautiful music the words were now and

established the kingdom of God excuse me

now is established the kingdom of our

God and His Christ and he shall reign

over and forever and ever and the

kingdom shall never be thrown down for

the Saints have overcome and I saw

people coming from the river and from

different places a long way off to help

build the temple and it seemed that the

host of the angels all helped to get the

material to build the temple and I saw

some come who were in their Temple robes

to help build the temple and the city

and all the time I saw the great pillar

of a cloud hovering over the place

instantly I found I was in the

Tabernacle at Ogden once again and yet I

could see the building going on still

and I got quite animated in calling to

the people in the Tabernacle to listen

to the Beautiful music that the Angels

were singing I called to them to look at

the angels as the house seemed to be

full of them and they were singing the

same words that I heard before now is

the kingdom of our God and His Christ

established forever and ever and then a

voice said now shall come to pass that

which was spoken of by Isaiah the

prophet that seven women shall take hold

of one man saying etc etc well I'm going

to take a tangent off here and read Isa

read Isaiah 4 veres 1-6 you might want

to also read second Nephi uh chapter 14

because it relates to this same um

prophecy and in that day seven women

shall take hold of one man saying we

will eat our own bread and wear our own

apparel only let us be called by thy

name to take away our reproach in that

day shall the branch of the Lord of be

beautiful shall the branch of the Lord

be beautiful and glorious and the fruit

of the Earth shall be excellent and

comely for them that are escaped of

Israel and it shall come to pass that he

that is left in Zion and he that

remaineth in Jerusalem Shall be Called

holy even everyone that is written among

the living in Jerusalem when the Lord

shall have washed away the filth of the

daughters of Zion and shall have purged

the blood of Jerusalem from the midst

thereof by the spirit of judgment and by

the spirit of burning and the Lord will

create upon every Dwelling Place of

Mount Zion and upon her assemblies a

cloud and a smoke by day and a shining

of a flaming fire by night for upon all

the glory shall be a defense and there

shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in

the daytime from the Heat and for a

place of refuge and for a covert from

storm and from s rain now back to Elder

Taylor's Vision continuing at this time

I seem to be staggering back from the

pulpit and FD Richards and someone else

caught me and prevented me from falling

when I requested brother Richards to

apologize to the audience for me because

I had stopped so abruptly and to tell

them that I hadn't fainted but was

simply exhausted right then I rolled

over in my bed and heard the city uh

clock strike 12:00 that's the end of the

quote a couple three years after this

Vision in 1877 Elder Taylor recorded

another entry in his journal dated the

26th of January 1880 he still was the

president of the quum of the 12 here's

what Elder Taylor wrote this time and I

quote I went to bed filled with prayer

and meditation I fell asleep and slept

until about midnight I awoke the Lord

poured out his Spirit upon me and opened

the vision of my mind so I could

comprehend in a good measure the mind

and will of God and his purposes

concerning our nation and the

inhabitants of Zion and when the vision

of my mind was open to comprehend the

situation of our nation their wickedness

Abominations and Corruptions and the

judgments of God and the destruction

that awaited them and when I

comprehended the Great and Mighty

responsibility which rested upon the qun

of the twel Apostles in the sight of God

and the Heavenly Host my head became a

fountain of tears and my pillow was wet

as with the Dos of heaven and sleep

departed from me and the Lord revealed

unto me our duty even the duty of the

twel Apostles and all the faithful

Elders of Israel Wilford woodruff's

Journal that's the end of that quote as

I said Elder Woodruff was the present of

the qun of the twel Apostles at the time

of this Revelation and so he made a copy

of it and submitted it to the first

prescy of the church with presid

bringham young being the Pres of the

church at that time now I recognize that

President Taylor is what the scriptures

refer to he's a dead prophet and there's

dead prophets and that the living

prophets are the Lord's mouthpiece for

our day which is today president Russell

M Nelson and so if we look at the more

recent talks given by President Russell

M Nelson you'll notice that he has

repeated certain truths and warnings

with urgency this repetition is creating

a powerful concert of clarity and a

warning volume far louder than solo

performance can ever produce and what is

he warning about and what is he warning

about the fierce attacks of the

adversary as I shared in my video titled

warning the time is running out I said

the scriptures warn that in the last

days men's Hearts shall fail them DNC

45:26 not only their physical Hearts but

their spiritual Hearts their faith their

testimony of their heart and uh it says

and false Christ shall deceive the very

elect Joseph Smith uh history of Matthew

the recording the translation of Matthew

1 verse 22 I emphasize that These

Warnings were for Our Generation

president Nelson continues quote you

must likely know someone who was once a

disciple of Jesus Christ but has now

lost their testimony they're aware of

the of the transfers of people leaving

and deconstructing their faith and being

lied and deceived away from the pure

Gospel of Jesus most glorious Kingdom on

this Earth he is aware of it the

apostles are aware of it he says the

adversary is indeed threatening our

faith as we near the second coming of

Christ Our Prophet is the Watchman this

is me the prophet is the Watchman on the

tower see Ezekiel 332 he is called to

blow the trumpet and warn the people

Ezekiel 33:3 I testify that President

Nelson's warning is much more than just

a notification of danger it's a plan to

help each of us prepare and withstand

spiritual attacks that have been and are

upon us even today I submit that now is

the perfect time to review his counsel

let me review the action plan our

Prophet San Revelator has put forth for

us to act on the first action is to

strengthen our faith in Jesus Christ

here's what president Nelson has said

about building and maintaining a

testimony one that will with understand

the attacks of the adversary here in our

day in this Our Generation his chief

attack being

deception let me mention just one

deception that I when I'm talk about

deception or

deceptions Saint's Chief attack being

deception let me mention this one

transgenderism see this boy he's a girl

see this girl she's a he see this woman

she's a man see this man he's a

she that's deception president Nelson

said I plead with with you to take

charge of your testimony work for it own

it care for it nurture it so that it

will grow a deep testimony a testimony

that is not nourished daily by the good

word of God 64 can crumble and I

submit that it is not only can crumble

it will crumble if we don't nourish it

daily we need daily experiences

worshiping the Lord and studying his

scripture his gospel that's so true

daily experiences some of our youth

people they probably couldn't give you

in on their one hand one or two examples

of spiritual daily experiences that

they've had in worshiping their Savior

and worshiping their father in Heaven in

the savior's name and in studying the

scripture stopping and weeping because

of what new truth they learned how many

can do that do they have spiritual

experiences study with the desire to

believe allow the Lord to lead you on

your journey of spiritual Discovery the

prophet Amma said even if all you can do

is to exercise a desire to believe the

second action he said is to make time

for the Lord make time for the Lord

president Nelson said the world will not

quiet down enough for you to hear the

spirit boy is that the truth you must

the world and I say especially with all

of the entertainment at our fingertips

videos what a miracle all filled with

the commotion of the world or we can use

our time to hear the voice of the Lord

Whispering his guidance comfort and

peace and the third action is to make

and keep covenants president Nelson said

when you make covenants with Heavenly

Father you enter into a unifying

Promises of purpose and action and the

more unified you are with him the

stronger you'll be in your fight against

the adversary we're in a fight fight

fight fight God has a special love for

each person who makes a covenant with

him starting in the waters of baptism

and that Divine love his Divine love

deepens and our divine love for him

deepens as additional covenants are made

and Faithfully kept with all the

pleadings of my heart president Nelson

says I urge you to get on the Covenant

path and stay there as you are true to

your covenants made in the temple you

will be strengthened by his power those

five covant obedience sacrifice the law

of the Gospel the law of chasy and the

law of consecration those embody the

fullness of the gospel and how it

transforms a human being he says you

will be able to stand strong because

your spiritual Foundation is solid and

immovable your spiritual Foundation

remember the video I talked and showed

the picture of that rock which is Christ

and his Revelation and then the

foundation being anchored into that rock

those five anchor pins I just said

anchored because your spiritual

Foundation is solid and immovable

president Nelson says that if we take

these actions seriously and do them we

will receive the promises made by our

heavenly father to us personally when

you put together these three actions

these three messages strengthening your

faith

making time for the Lord and keeping our

covenants they will give evidence to an

important reality President nson says

knows that we're in the last part of the

last days that's the reality we're

living in and he is doing everything he

can to help us stand strong but he can't

do it for us he can't do it for me and

he can't do it for any of you who are

watching this because we've heard this

sound of the trumpet Ezekiel 33:4 it's

up to you and me to take action and

apply the prophet's counsel here we need

to make the changes to our routine our

daily routine that are necessary to

follow this action plan we must do it as

we do the Lord has promised each of us

the following blessings we will become a

more potent instrument in the hands of

the lord we will be armed with

priesthood power both men and women we

will be able to turn challenges into imp

paralleled growth and opportunity and we

will be ready to receive additional

truth warning and preparation from the

Lord through his profit in this next

general conference coming up in October

my dear latterday Saints friends and

fellow Americans I can hardly wait to

hear what our Prophet has to say at the

upcoming General Conference that will we

held on the 5ifth and 6th of October of

this year which is a little more than

two months from now and just one month

before the United States has their

elections I testify president Russell M

Nelson is the living Prophet for this

particular time and as such he will be

speaking to all of the nations of the

world not just the Latter-Day Saints but

to all the nations of the world as is Al

speakers during that conference and he

will not just be to the church

membership it'll be to every last person

who is willing to listen and sit at the

feet of the prophets to listen to the

words of the Prophet now we all know

that as the United States goes so goes

the rest of the

world and so the council and warnings he

to hear and to take to heart for not

only does our nation face a shaky future
