Outlines
✝️ Understanding Jesus as the Fulfillment of Messianic Prophecies
The speaker introduces the topic by addressing a previous query about Jesus being the begotten Son of God. The Gospel reflects the fulfillment of messianic prophecies through Jesus Christ. The speaker invites listeners to explore the identity of Jesus, highlighting His dual nature: fully God and fully man. Jesus is the Word made flesh, through the Virgin Mary, and is part of the Holy Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Despite debates in early Christianity about His divinity, the faith confirms that Jesus is truly God, as affirmed in the Gospel of John.
🤲 Jesus: The Eternal Word and His Human Experience
The speaker elaborates on Jesus as the Eternal Word, emphasizing His role in creation and His incarnation to redeem humanity after sin disrupted the covenant with God. Jesus, born of the Virgin Mary, fully embraced the human experience—growing up, suffering, and ultimately enduring death to fulfill God's saving plan. Despite suffering like any human, He remained obedient to God's will, reversing humanity’s rebellion against God. Jesus' sinless life and His perfect obedience to the Father are highlighted as the pathway to reopening the doors of Heaven for humankind.
🕊️ The Death and Resurrection of Jesus: A Triumph Over Sin and Death
The speaker reflects on why Jesus had to suffer and die. Since death entered the world through Adam's sin, salvation could only come through a perfect human—something only Jesus could fulfill. Although He suffered and died in solidarity with humanity, His resurrection on the third day demonstrated His divinity and His triumph over death. Jesus fulfilled the law, brought salvation, and showed His divine nature through His resurrection. His suffering as a human and His resurrection as God reveal His dual nature and the ultimate purpose of His mission on Earth.
🙏 Emulating Christ and Living a Christ-like Life
The speaker encourages the audience to follow Christ's example by loving God and others, emphasizing the importance of living the sacraments to become worthy children of God. While humans cannot be the begotten Son of God, they can strive to be Christ-like in their actions and devotion, fostering a deep connection with God and others through love and service.
⛪ Celebrating Saints Peter and Paul: Apostles of Christ and Symbols of the Church
The speaker shares a personal reflection on the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul, acknowledging their significance in the Church. Peter, despite his weaknesses, was entrusted with the keys to Heaven, becoming the first pope. Paul, once a persecutor of Christians, was transformed into a zealous preacher of Christ. The tradition of the pope venerating St. Peter's tomb and bestowing the pallium to newly installed Metropolitan Archbishops symbolizes their responsibility as shepherds united with the pope. The speaker shares his joy as one of the Filipino archbishops who received this honor, asking for prayers to fulfill his duties.

a blessed day to you my brothers and
sisters a few weeks ago we received a
query about Jesus's being the begotten
son of the
father today in the gospel we witness
the Fulfillment of one of the many
Messianic prophecies made present in and
through Jesus Christ and so today my
dear friends we will try to shed light
on the identity of the Lord so come join
us let us get to know Jesus
Christ we have been taught that Jesus is
fully God and at the same time fully man
now many ask how is this possible well
my dear friends because he is indeed God
he is the word of the father who was
made flesh and took his human form
through the Blessed Virgin Mary friends
we said that Jesus has two Natures
Divine and human Divine because he is
God our faith tells us that God is Trion
there are three persons the Father the
Son who is Jesus and the spirit although
distinct from each other they are one in
essence in the early history of the
church Jesus's Divinity was subjected to
great debate some said that he was not
God others said that he was only human
or half God but our faith is firm Jesus
is fully and truly God in the opening
Narrative of The Gospel According to St
John he referred to Jesus as the Eternal
Word or the logos thus giving us an idea
of his prehuman existence and his role
in creation
the Evangelist explains it this way in
the beginning was the word and the Word
was with God and the Word was God he was
with God in the beginning through him
all things were made without him nothing
was made that has been
made and in order to reconcile humankind
with the father after his Covenant Love
was wrecked by human sin the son was
sent to redeem the
world the father sent his word to the
Earth and his word became man was made
flesh in Jesus
[Music]
Christ we all know that Jesus was born
of a virgin a maiden was chosen by the
father to bear his word incarnate to
become human and to raise him as a real
human being
he went through every Human Experience
he became a young child a Pious Jew who
religiously attended synagogue Services
he had friends and most of all he
suffered like every human worse like a
criminal all of that he endured in order
to fulfill the saving plan of the father
and we can really see the passion
here
for
Mission his obedience to the father
perfected him as a person as the man who
would once again opened the door of
Heaven to humankind he reversed human
Rebellion against God through his
obedience to God yes he was tempted but
he did not give in he was sinless
yes he suffered he was weak to the eyes
of many he died but he resurrected from
the dead now he breathes eternal life
the Apostle Paul tells us this way for
in Christ lives all the fullness of God
in a human
[Music]
body now if Jesus Is God why did he need
to suffer he could have redeemed us and
saved us easily not allowing himself to
be ridiculed or hurt why my friends we
must remember that death entered the
world through the sin of man Adam and so
as it is written Resurrection from the
dead must come also from a man but there
is no man perfect enough to fulfill it
because all are stained by sin so God
who loves his creation so much sent his
son to the world to redeem it we are
dealing here with Jesus's human nature a
human being is subject to suffering and
death he suffered and died in solidarity
with all humans who experienced the
consequence of sin but what is consoling
according to St Paul for the wages of
sin is death but the gift of God is
eternal life in Christ Jesus our lord so
salvation did not end with his death on
the cross for on the third day he showed
to us his divinity he resurrected from
the dead he triumphed over death he
fulfilled the law and brought us the
promised salvation his divine nature is
manifested there therefore we may say
that Jesus suffered and died because he
is human and Jesus is revealed as God
when he rose from the
[Music]
dead friends we hope that we have given
you a simple understanding of Jesus's
identity we may not be like Christ as
the begotten child but we can be
Christlike by following his very example
and command to love God and to love our
neighbors as our own and by living the
sacraments that he instituted to
strengthen us to become worthy children
of

God on a personal note before we close
our episode today I wish to share with
you a happy and moving experience where
I felt the love of God June 29th is the
solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul the
two great Apostles of Jesus Christ Peter
in spite of his weaknesses received from
Christ the Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven
and the pastoral care of his flock thus
we recognize him as the first pope while
Paul from being a persecutor of
Christians was transformed into a
zealous preacher of Jesus thus he is
usually called the Great Apostle of
Christ in celebration of this Feast one
tradition is for the pope to visit and
venerate the tomb of St Peter below the
altar of St Peter's Basilica he asks the
Holy Spirit to make holy the pum laid
near the Tomb at the mass the pope will
bestow the pum to newly installed
Metropolitan archbishops of the church
as a sign of their new new office as
Shepherd and their Union with the Holy
Father and the whole Catholic
Church the pum which is a lurgical
Insignia is made of white wool decorated
with six crosses made of black silk and
has two black flaps falling in front and
behind it is worn over the chasable and
rests on the
shoulders the pope teaches us that the
symbolism of the p
is even more concrete the Lamb's wool is
meant to represent the lost the sick or
weak sheep which the shepherd places on
his shoulders and Carries to the Waters
of Life friends I share this joy and
responsibility with other 46 newly
installed Metropolitan archbishops
around the world there were four of us
Filipino
archbishops
we hope that you continue to pray for us
that we may fulfill the duty given to us
by God and our mother Church join us
again next Sunday my dear
friends
