I have so much time that I can do so
many different things said no one ever
within our busy lives finding time is
one of the hardest things to do so I'll
be waking up at 5:00 a.m. for 30 days
straight to see if it can help with this
problem or ruin my life make me tired
and never want to wake up early again
why am I doing this again lately I have
been struggling with a few things I am
not as productive as I once was I have
anxiety about not being productive and I
also have not been there for my loved
ones as much as I should and I hope that
waking up at 5:00 a.m. will give me a
little bit more free time allow me to be
more productive and hopefully just be a
better version of
myself okay we are setting my first
alarm of the challenge 500 a.m. baby 5
a.m. you're not going to be able to get
up yes I am no you're not yeah easy I'm
getting up
easy well it's 5 a.m. 5:03 to be exact
surprisingly I'm feeling pretty
decent I thought I was going to feel
terrible just because it's a different
wakeup time doesn't mean it's a
different morning
routine stop it first I weigh myself
damn I'm heavy right now then I brush my
teeth which always includes flexing this
is a crucial step that your dentist may
have forgotten to tell you next I
dressed myself with some code Jesse I
mean young La it's early give me a break
after saying a quick good morning to the
future wife I make my way downstairs to
get started on
bre you got to be kidding
me okay not ideal but enjoy these nice
cinematic shots of me making talk my
tripod will not stop falling apart oh I
really hope this isn't a metaphor of how
the rest of this challenge will go I
feel like I literally just went to war
with making this breakfast I don't know
if it's because I'm filming or because
it's 5:00 in the morning and I don't
know what's going on we got 29 more days
of
this 6:03 a.m. I'm in the gym I can't
blast music cuz Claudia is sleeping
still so got some handy dandy headphones
and uh feels very weird I feel like like
[Music]
lonely okay that feels
horrible okay it is a little too early
for that much effort I would say
everything is about one pin up 20 lbs
down it's not terrible but obviously
it's not
[Music]
optimal it's super interesting I don't
have the urge just scroll on my phone
this early typically I'll wake up at
9:00 a.m. and scroll on my phone for at
least 10 to 15 minutes so maybe starting
my day off of the workout like this will
keep me off this Doom scrolling device
longer we're all addicted to it it's bad
it's really bad I proceeded with the
rest my workout did my cardio and For
The First Time in Forever actually got
to see the sunrise it is 7:26 a.m. and
we've got a snowstorm that I worked out
while it was happening the craziest
thing is that I feel really good right
now but I feel like at 2: pm p.m. I'm
going to feel horrible 5:00 a.m. baby
7:48
a.m. I feel like I have completed my
entire day so I am going to edit my
proposal video I don't typically edit
all my videos but this is one that I
want to edit because I think it's really
personal yeah I guess I'm just going to
spend the next few hours grinding away
at this maybe I'll make Claudia some
breakfast I've got time baby I've got
time like none other if I'm going to do
this challenge become a better version
of myself why not be a better fiance not
boyfriend fiance that's
weird saying out loud well let's cook
[Music]
baby oh babe I've got you breakfast and
bed it feels like 300 p.m. for me I've
been up all
day first morning as a fiance
huh M oh my God
boys that's how you treat your women
make him some breakfast in bed I thought
I'd carry this momentum for the rest of
the day but by 11:00 a.m. the fatigue
definitely kicked in we've officially
been awake for 6 hours I've been editing
non-stop I'm in dire need of caffeine
getting a lot done but I could tell that
by 5:00 I'm going to be
asleep it's catching up quick it's 5:00
p.m. I've been up for 12 hours at this
point my eyeballs are burning a bit
we're making strawberries I'm trying to
enjoy myself but the tiredness is
getting to me my bedtime is totally
going to be 8:00 p.m. tonight all right
I have made it to 8:00 p.m. I'm so
exhausted I need to go to bed right now
will you carry me up to bed no I cannot
like a piggy
back all right guys day one is in the
books let's just hope tomorrow is a
little bit
better okay I've got my coffee so why
don't we head outside start the day with
a little bit of sunlight and kind of
fresh up and wake
up oh yeah there is no sunlight
yet I'm going back
inside it's kind of weird normally my
phone is being lit up by texts all day
long and there's literally nothing
because none of my employees none of my
family none of my friends are even
up okay so yesterday's workout I feel
like didn't do anything at all I'm not
sore at all and I always sore after a
back day like the problem is is that for
8 hours through the night I'm fasting
and then I come down here and I try to
get a pump I try to get a workout and I
feel like it's just impossible because
there's not enough food and not enough
just alertness to have an effective
workout okay so my dad has been waking
up for the past 30 years at 5:00 a.m. so
I'm asking for some advice because I
don't understand how he's been doing
this for that long good morning good
morning sunshine so you're finally
getting up early that's good how the
hell have you been doing this for like
30 years just get used to it lot a lot a
lot of people do it what's your best
piece of advice to wake up early go to
bed
early life a lot easier my dad proceeded
to give me some more advice to survive
waking up at 5:00 a.m. to be honest it
was just nice to talk to him because
ever since I started making videos our
schedules can't seem to align I'm going
to get back to my workout I'll talk to
you later have a good day okay all right
see all right bye I just got a text from
my dad and he says got to start early to
get stuff done if you want to be
successful in life there's 16 hours in a
work day sometimes you need to use all
of them and he sent a video of him
driving to work he really is the reason
that I work hard and the reason that I
get up every day to push myself he's the
one that taught me to be relentless so I
do owe it to him to push myself although
his advice was for me to go to bed
earlier that was going to have to wait
because after doing my cardio having a
cold shower and getting some work done I
was on my way to a double date where are
you ladies at twirl
y give me a
twirl but we have a problem tomorrow I
have to wake up at 5:00 a.m. tonight we
have an option we either get home early
don't have anything to drink tonight or
we go out I'm with two very nice fine
looking women but then I'm going to wake
up feeling really tired cuz I'm probably
going to have one two martinis H what do
we here
have
[Music]
I don't want to get up I really don't I
just want to light out and sleep my
energy levels were officially trash like
here is my whoop score after yesterday
and in terms of my productivity I don't
want to work out I'm really just doing
everything I can to kind of muster up
some strength to go either do cardio or
at least get something done I feel like
this challenge has only gotten harder
and worse every day I genuinely thought
I'd be better by
now I'm sitting in my computer I'm
listing things to try to get things done
but I so badly need sleep that I'm not
productive at all right now it was
obvious that I was going to have to
change my nightly routine before I've
been up since 500 a.m. and I have not
left my
bed yep I got sick it was time for me to
lock in and set up a new proper schedule
so I could get the benefits of waking up
at 5:00 a.m. and prevent this burnout
from happening again I need a routine
that's what I've been missing this whole
time so here's what I'm thinking wake up
at 500
a.m. no duh then I'm going to do a full
skincare routine even though I'm
exhausted make a
coffee take a cold
plunge I'm sorry future Jessie you are
going to hate this just
breathe I might have a straight line
across my body but that is how you start
your day for Success eat some breakfast
not eating as soon as I'm waking up has
helped tremendously I don't have that
weird hunger feeling throughout the day
where I just want to snack on everything
being on a more regimented eating
schedule that's more normal has helped a
ton lift and
Cardio
[Music]
and boom we've got ourselves my new
morning routine then I can begin my
day it feels so good to finally have a
routine that is benefiting this
challenge everything is there for a
purpose and it feels so good to be awake
and all I feel is gratitude and I
actually am alive and awake for it when
typically I'm really tired just dragging
through this moment but it feels good
everything was becoming more efficient
an example being my diet which takes up
a good deal of time to ensure that I'm e
properly for my goals well that was
until day 17 and that's where macro
Factor comes in also today's sponsor not
having to overthink my diet has led me
to be even more productive in my routine
than I already was and making my
workouts go even better
and your weight Trend then it adjusts
your calories and your Macros to keep
you on track towards your goal plus all
items in
never sell your data and never violate
your privacy it also cost less than my
fitness pal premium you can download it
on the app store or Google play or go to
day lift like everybody's just getting
after it what time did you wake up today
3:00 2:45 4:30 4:4 4 4:00 a.m. every day
every day for how long have you been
doing this uh about 2 years now do you
have any advice for anybody trying to
wake up early probably more or less a
set of time during the evening once you
got to go to bed get enough rest have a
plan set your alarm don't snooze just
get up start slow so wake up at 6 and
slowly move it back why did you get up
that early I have my daughter she wakes
up at 7:00 okay okay yeah family
priorities there you go what time did
you wake up today 4:45 what's your best
piece of advice for someone like me
that's just getting into that 5:00 a.m.
routine unhealthy amounts of caffeine
hell yeah brother let's go now that we
know the secrets from people who
actually wake up early every day let's
get into the
workout I'm feeling motivated man I'm
feeling I'm feeling ready no more
excuses during these workouts I am
fighting my inner voice saying stop I
don't want to do this I don't want to
push I don't want to do another set but
you have to literally ignore that and be
like okay I'm up right now I'm already
doing something so we need to do
something right and not just be a little
baby this workout was honestly one of
the best of the entire challenge being
surrounded by these determined people
who choose to get up and Train Early
definitely push me they kind of reminded
me of my dad and how every morning he'd
be up and out at 5:00 a.m. to earn a
living for our family but still show up
and support me for everything I was
doing hello how are you Dad what's going
on just uh doing my thing working a lot
welcome to my world how you making out
with that honestly better than I thought
it was been brutal in the beginning but
then have been probably the most
productive that I've ever been in my
entire life and I'm already a productive
person I've literally I've been going on
runs and I haven't done that in
years that's good it's definitely
painful to get up that early though you
get used to it I'm sure you do I was
thinking that why don't you and Mom uh I
was I was thinking that why don't you
guys come swing by and I haven't seen
you in a while so it'd be nice yeah
we'll head down I haven't seen you in a
while go hang out gra by D sounds good
that'd be good cool all right manab see
you later bye love
you one of the biggest benefits this
routine had given me was emphasizing
quality time with
Claudia usually we just watch TV
together after a long day but now we
could do stuff like cleaning the house
and doing cute things together holy
crap
it's almost like I have an entire extra
day from waking up so early and because
I'm getting so much done before anyone
else is even awake it relieves so much
pressure for my life thus just giving me
so much less anxiety throughout my
entire day and let me just tell you I
needed that really bad each day the
routine got easier and easier and I can
confidently say that this was the most
productive I have ever been in my entire
life
no distractions no social media in the
morning no nothing just work and
gratitude fresh air baby feels good my
fingertips are frozen but I'm feeling
good all right guys day 30 here we are I
have become a master of cooking oats on
day one my oats explode on day 30 I have
made a beautiful piece of work the game
plan today we're going to hit an
insanely amazing amazing workout we're
going to end this challenge extremely
strong and then because we have
developed so much free time my family is
coming down today so we're going to see
them we're going to have a great
day that's what w get up at 5:00 a.m. is
for it's not for just being productive
it's for making time for people you
love I've heard a saying in the past
that no one is coming to save
[Music]
you
you are your savior you need to work
hard you need to dig yourself out of the
trenches that you've put yourself in or
that the world has put you in and you
have to find a way
[Music]
out there is no feeling sorry for
yourself if you're tired and you're
telling yourself you're tired you are
just feeling sorry for yourself right
now I'm sitting here and I'm like oh my
gosh it's early I'm tired I don't want
to do this I'm just feeling sorry for
myself and no one's coming to save me I
have to dig myself through the trenches
I have to dig myself out of all of my
problems and I have to dig myself
through this leg day it applies to
everything in life you are the only one
that's coming to save
you okay my parents are finally here
hello
hello love you hello what's going on I
missed you guys miss you too we are
going on a family hike whenever we are
all together we always spend time in the
woods are you ready sure you look ready
you got the shades you ready to go for
you
you're always ready you're going to look
like you're about to go for Speed
[Music]
sure okay so you've been waking up at
5:00 a.m. for how many years 30 30 years
what is your best piece of advice for
someone that wants to start a new habit
that might be extremely difficult like
getting up at 5:00 a.m. just do it I
took a lot of traits from you of being
very hardworking very very dedicated and
being relentless what does that mean to
you 16 hours on a work day use all of
them if needed all of them I'm glad I
can I can be here enjoy this I love you
love you too my father is a man of a few
words but he gets a hell of a lot done
and that's where I got my inspiration
from so overall what are the true
benefits that I experienc from waking up
at 5:00 a.m. for the past 30 days one I
am the most productive I have literally
ever been in my entire life I have done
more work than I could ever ask for and
it's been tough and I feel a little
burnt out sometimes but I am getting so
much more done two my days just feel
longer and I honestly have less anxiety
about things that pop up out of nowhere
because I just have extra time three
having an extremely structured and
organized life everything felt very
structured for the past month and it
felt really relieving because I was able
to just follow the structure of the day
every day and make progress on each
thing and four the most important one of
them all more time for my loved ones I
had more time during the day which led
to more time with my beautiful fiance
with my family and overall everyone that
I care about and I should be giving time
for I did such a tough ass what did you
say he can be soft too but not much just
a
little not saying a word I I knew you
were holding back a joke I knew you were
holding back a joke I don't want to hear
it all right
well oh my gosh okay I'm going to end it
here I appre you guys watching this far
it means the absolute world my dad is a
big motivator but obviously he's where I
get my dirty humor from as well so
