What is the concept of mining in the context of Bitcoin?
-Mining in the context of Bitcoin refers to the process where users contribute their computing power to validate transactions and add them to the blockchain. Miners are rewarded with newly generated Bitcoins and transaction fees for their work, which involves solving complex mathematical problems to maintain the integrity of the Bitcoin network.
Why are miners rewarded for their work in validating Bitcoin transactions?
-Miners are rewarded for their work to incentivize participation in the network and to cover the costs associated with the computational power and electricity used in the mining process. This reward system is essential for maintaining the security and integrity of the Bitcoin network.
What is the significance of the halving event in Bitcoin's history?
-The halving event refers to the reduction of the mining reward by half every 210,000 blocks. This mechanism is built into the Bitcoin protocol to control the rate of new Bitcoin creation and to ensure that the total supply of Bitcoins does not exceed the cap of 21 million. The halving events contribute to the scarcity and deflationary nature of Bitcoin.

Highlights
Bitcoin is a digital currency, also known as a cryptocurrency, created in 2008 by an individual or group using the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto.
The true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto remains unknown, and it is speculated that it could be a group of expert programmers and economists.
Cryptocurrency functions like traditional currencies such as the euro or the dollar but exists only in digital form, as data exchanges between computers.
Traditional currencies are issued and controlled by governments or central banks, whereas Bitcoin operates without the need for such institutional intermediaries.
Bitcoin transactions are facilitated by a decentralized system, making it an innovative project by Satoshi Nakamoto.
The blockchain technology is fundamental to Bitcoin's existence, serving as a shared, encrypted digital ledger recording all Bitcoin transactions since January 3, 2009.
The Bitcoin blockchain algorithm is open-source and not owned or patented by any individual or entity, ensuring transparency and public access.
Blockchain users are identified through addresses, which are strings of numbers and letters similar to a bank's IBAN, making Bitcoin transactions pseudo-anonymous.
Validating a Bitcoin transaction requires the majority of the network to recognize it as correct, done through a complex system of blockchain record-keeping.
Miners, or users who voluntarily contribute their computing power to the blockchain, perform the complex calculations needed to verify transaction blocks.
Miners are rewarded with newly generated Bitcoins for their work, which is also how new currency is introduced into the market.
The Bitcoin algorithm dictates that the amount of currency generated is halved every 210,000 blocks, eventually leading to a cap of 21 million Bitcoins.
The maximum number of Bitcoins is expected to be reached around the year 2040, making Bitcoin almost immune to inflation, unlike traditional currencies.
The value of Bitcoin is market-driven, as there is no central authority to control its issuance, leading to significant price fluctuations.
Despite its initial low value, Bitcoin's price has risen dramatically, reaching over 11,000 euros at one point, but it has also gained a reputation as a volatile currency.

andata via via diminuendo.
