Transcripts
hey this is Dave from unipro and in this
video I'm going to show you how you can
optimize your Facebook account so that
you get more engagement across all your
Facebook posts these optimizations they
can take you from getting just a small
handful of engagements comments likes on
your content to getting thousands of
engagements like this one let's take a
look at the insights for this particular
post you can see it's got about 11,000
Impressions it was reached by almost
7,000 individual people but check this
out out of those 7,000 people who saw it
about half of them engaged which is
amazing and that's what you can do for
your Facebook post as well you just need
to optimize your Facebook account and
the best part is it doesn't cost a cent
so let's dive
in so you're out there busting your butt
creating all kinds of content on
Facebook but it feels like nobody's
seeing it you take a look at your stats
your insights and you see you get a
couple likes you maybe get the odd
comment it's always the same people
commenting maybe most of the comments
are coming from your mom or your friends
and that can be really disheartening it
can make you wonder is it even
worthwhile creating all this content for
Facebook if it's not going to get in
front of people and get the right people
in engaged and you might start thinking
well maybe I'm going to go to a
different platform maybe I need to be on
Tik Tok maybe that's what you're
thinking or maybe someone told you you
got to start running Facebook ads but
I'm going to tell you something neither
of those is true there are tons of leads
for your business on Facebook right now
you just need to optimize your account
so that you're getting your content in
front of the right people so that the
right people can engage and again you
don't need to pay for this optimizing
your Facebook account is completely free
and that's why I'm going to take you
through three optimizations that I've
made for my account it made a world of
difference and you can do this as well
the first optimization is optimize your
audience quick story my first online
business ever was an online Fitness
business that targeted moms targeted
only women there were no products or
services for men at all but I had a
problem inside my Facebook audience my
friends and my followers there were a
lot of people who knew me personally and
back then one of the things that I like
to do was play a lot of Ultimate Frisbee
so I had all these Ultimate Frisbee
friends these Ultimate Frisbee followers
well guess what happened when they saw
content that was intended to attract my
Target demographic my cont content was
all about weight loss for moms so when
my Ultimate Frisbee friends saw that
content and didn't engage that hurt my
business because it was sending a signal
to Facebook saying nobody cares about
Dave's content and that's why it's
really important to optimize your
audience so I'm going to show you how to
do that right now I'm going to go over
to Facebook here and I'm on my all
friends Tab and I'll show you how to get
there I'm actually going to go back to
Facebook and you can see over here in
the top leand corner it says friends if
you don't see that you can simply click
on see more and it'll be somewhere here
in the drop- down menu and then go down
to the all friends selection it's going
to take you over to this page here and
then you can see all the friends in your
list now it's really important that
there's only two types of friends inside
your friend list the number one most of
your friends should be legitimately
leads these are people who either have
shown interest in what it is that you
have to sell or there's a high
likelihood that they may do so in the
future so these are targeted legitimate
leads that's the first type of person
that you want to keep in your friends
list and when I go through here let's
take a look at the first example here
Rachel I see that she says I coach women
who want to do more with God we change
words and actions to make life more
beautiful so she's running a coaching
business well my business now now does
serve coaches and so Rachel is a perfect
fit for my audience because she's a
legitimate lead so you want to go
through and take a look for legitimate
leads the second type of person you
might keep in your audience are people
that will inspire you people for
inspiration I'm going to show you an
example here I'm going to go over to
this is someone you can see here that
Lucas and I are friends you can see that
we're already connected on Facebook so
he's part of my audience Lucas Rubik
he's an investor entrepreneur true
Seeker owner of crypto Labs so someone
who's dealing in crypto are they
necessarily a lead for my business no
but there is something unique here about
Lucas Lucas lives in Vancouver British
Columbia and that happens to be the city
where I live and so I do like to have
some other entrepreneurs who live
locally to me because I like to see what
they're doing I like to see what's going
on in my city from an entrepreneurial
perspective so there's an opportunity
for me to be inspired by having Lucas in
my network even though he's unlikely to
become a Pang customer at some point and
so that's what you want to do is you
want to be going through and looking for
legitimate leads and then people who
inspire you now I do want to make
mention about that second group the
inspiration group if you have a lot of
your competitors inside your friends
list inside your audience and you notice
that as their posts come through your
Facebook feed you feel like you're
comparing yourself maybe to their
business or to their physique or to
whatever it is that they're
accomplishing in life you feel like when
you see their post it actually makes you
feel worse about your own position then
that's a signal it's time to get rid of
these people no longer are they
inspiring you they're actually pulling
you down so to optimize your audience
you can go through your friends list
take a look at these different people
and ask yourself is this a legitimate
targeted lead or is this someone who's
inspiring me to help me grow my business
faster and everyone else if they're not
a targeted legitimate lead and they're
not inspiring you get rid of them you do
not want them in your audience and for
the same reason that I mentioned earlier
when I had Ultimate Frisbee people in my
audience they were reducing the number
of real leades who are seeing and able
to engage on my content you don't want
that happening with your business now
I'm going to tell you one more little
side note as you're going through an
optimizing your audience here's another
check that you want to do it's important
that when someone comes into your
audience you connect with them
personally and the best way to do that
is through Facebook Messenger sending
your new friends a message and so as
you're going through here you might want
to do this I'm just going to go through
each one of these friends and I'm going
to go over here let's say to Rachel I'm
going to click on message and notice
that we're already a messenger
conversation so that shows that I've got
a legitimate lead in my audience and
then after reached out I've started a
conversation again this is helping
optimize your audience you have the
right people in your audience and you're
already engaging those people in
messenger which is going to prompt them
to engage on your future content so you
can see here I've already engaged Rachel
I'll go over here to Paul and let's take
a look at messenger already engaged Paul
here let's take a look at Arden already
engaged Arden and so you just want to
make sure that you're in conversation
with all your friends so that's the
first optimization optimize your
audience remove everyone who's not a
legitimate targeted lead remove everyone
who's not inspiring to your business and
then make sure you're connecting with
everyone who does belong in your
audience simply doing these steps is
going to work wonders for your
engagement now your audience is made up
of the right people so when you post
content it's going to get in front of
the right people and because you're
engaging those people inside inside a
messenger like I said there's a much
higher likelihood that they're going to
engage back with you on your content
this is so important because remember
the best content shown to the wrong
audience is the worst content and so you
can't afford to be investing a lot of
time and energy in creating content only
to put it in front of the wrong audience
optimize your audience the second
optimization is to optimize your
algorithm optimize your Facebook
algorithm and this simply means that
you're going to take a few steps that's
going to show Facebook you're doing the
right things on Facebook you're doing
what Facebook wants you to do therefore
when you post content Facebook is more
likely to reward you it's more likely to
push your content in front of your
audience which we've already optimized
so you've got the right leads in your
audience therefore more people are going
to see your content and more people are
going to engage well how do you do this
how do you optimize your algorithm I'm
going to show you three steps under the
acronym CPR CPR let's take a look at the
C which stands for comment before you
post any content you want to go and do
something that Facebook loves and you
know what Facebook loves it loves it
when you comment on other people's
content why does Facebook like this well
you can just imagine other Facebook
users when you comment on one of their
posts how does it make them feel makes
them feel good right they get excited
they get a little dopamine rush and that
means they're more likely to come back
and create more content on Facebook
Facebook loves this and it's going to
therefore reward you also what Facebook
is going to do is when you comment on
someone's post the next time you post
it's almost guaranteed that this person
you just commented on they're going to
see your content Facebook is giving them
a chance to reciprocate to say hey I saw
you engaged with me now I'm going to
engage with you so you can be very
targeted with this to comment on
people's content if you want them to see
your future posts so here's how the C
might actually look I'm going to go over
to Facebook and I'm just going to go
into my newsfeed here and let's just say
I wanted Aaron to see my future content
I just come down here and maybe give
this post a like and then I'll drop a
quick comment here so he says this will
be the best place to raise your family
in America that's a promise I'm just
going to say where is this
picture from simple as that now I'm
going to move down take a look at the
next post that's a sponsored post I'm
going to skip over that and so I'm
looking for posts that are actually from
my Facebook friends my real audience so
let's come on down here I've got Zade he
says if you're about creating multiple
assets follow me if not keep scrolling
and I'm just going to click here and I'm
going to
say keep it up and then I'm going to tag
him in this one and I'm going to say
keep it up say
simple as that so the c means you're
going to go into your newsfeed and
you're going to comment especially on
people's posts if you want those people
to see your post now how much time do
you actually need to spend doing this do
you need to do this for hours and hours
no just before you go and create your
piece of content spend 5 to 10 minutes
doing exactly what I just showed you
doing simple little comments on other
people's posts that's the C in CPR the P
simply means post take the next few
minutes after you've done your comments
and go ahead and create your own piece
of content that's the P you've got
commenting 5 to 10 minutes then then you
create your post that's the p and then
the r is to make sure that you reply as
comments come in let me show you an
example over here here's one of my posts
that says Lucy and I saw inside a
coaching program that sold over $100
million on Facebook it's impressive want
to see what makes it so special and
you'll notice I've got a bunch of
comments here let's go and I'm going to
filter these comments by the newest ones
and as I scroll down here you'll see
there's a lot of replies now you can do
this manually I do use a tool that
automates this for me but the key here
is that you're optimizing your Facebook
algorithm you're showing Facebook that
you're super engaged that when people
engage with your content you're going to
engage right back and Facebook loves
this because it knows that if you engage
people when they comment on your posts
those people are more likely to enjoy
their Facebook experience they're more
likely to stick on Facebook which is
exactly what Facebook wants so that's
the formula for optimizing your Facebook
algorithm CPR comment post reply the
third optimization that's going to make
a world of difference for you getting
more engagement on your posts is to
create content for your Niche so let me
give you an example imagine you're a
fitness coach and you're creating an
online Fitness business but you're also
really interested in politics now it
could be tempting during election time
for you to be posting all your political
views but those views aren't necessarily
interesting to your audience and
remember you already spent time
optimizing your audience it doesn't make
sense to serve up content that's not
going to be appealing or relevant to
that audience so it's really important
that you post content specifically for
your Niche now there is one exception
and I'll show you an example here here's
a post that I made on my personal
profile and it says last night Mexico
back to Vancouver winter and it just
shows a picture of Lucy my wife and our
daughter Yuna and you might look at that
and say well that's not relevant to your
audience and that's true my audience is
full of online business owners who are
using Facebook to grow their businesses
is this picture relevant and the answer
is no not directly however I do want my
audience to get to know me I do want my
audience to know a little bit about my
family a little bit about my values a
little bit about what I stand for aside
from just the business side of Dave and
you can do this as well you can sprinkle
in personal posts the reveal that
personal side of you amongst all your
business posts but it's important not to
be distracted and post too much of this
content the rule of thumb that I like to
use is 75% business posts and then 25%
personal posts and that'll likely be a
safe rule of thumb for you to follow as
well the next thing that you can do to
make sure you're optimizing your content
for more engagement is to Simply take a
look at what's worked in the past I show
you how to do this I'm over here on
Facebook I'm going to click on my
personal profile here to do this step
you do need to have professional mode
turned on and so if you go over here to
these three dots you'll notice mine says
turn off professional mode you're going
to want to have yours turned on if it's
not already turned on so from here
you're going to click on view tools and
this is going to take you into your
professional mode dashboard then what we
want to do is go down to Content and
this is going to show you all of your
content it's also going to show you your
reach so how many people saw that piece
of content and then how many people
engaged on that content and so you can
simply take a look at the piece of
content here and see the ones that have
the most engagement and start creating
more posts like that or you could add a
filter here check this out you'll notice
that by default I've got a date filter
on here so it's showing me my most
recent post first I'm going to click on
this down arrow and then what I want to
choose is engagement and what this does
now is Facebook is pulling out my posts
that have received the most engagement
and it's very interesting you're going
to notice a big difference when we look
at this list versus the previous list
notice this list here so I'm going to
start with this one this particular post
has about 7,000 people reached and has
about 3,000 engagements so about 50% of
people when they see this post they
engage that's incredible let's take a
look at the next one this one has about
3600 people reached and almost 900
engagements this one has 3600 people
reached almost 900 engagements this one
has 3200 people reached in almost 700
engagements and notice the trend here
out of the post that I created that
received the highest engagement what's
similar well you'll notice by this icon
over here all of these are text only
posts and so this is really revealing if
I want more engagement and if I'm
posting a lot of pictures or a lot of
videos that aren't getting much
engagement but I notice in here inside
my professional mode dashboard that I
get a ton of Engagement when I post text
only well now that's a good indicator to
me that I should probably start creating
more content this text only and you can
do this as well you're going to see
Trends in here that will allow you to
optimize your content based on what's
worked in the past for gaining
engagement now one other side note when
it comes to optimizing your content for
engagement is that it's crucial that you
do not sell in your post I'm going to
show you an example here this post here
from Kevin he says 5-day video challenge
sign up is live for first time people
get 50% off with code action Taker and
you can notice here this got 26 comments
so it's not as if it got no engagement
at all however I guarantee there are
people who saw this and thought 50% off
well I wonder what the full price is or
50% off why is he trying to sell to me
you really want to avoid putting any
messaging inside your content that
suggests there's something to buy
there's some sort of sale there's some
sort of promotion those types of content
that are selling typically scare people
away reducing the engagement you're
going to get on that post and
potentially reducing the engagement
you're going to get on future posts
instead what you want to do is put out
content that's optimized for engagement
and then when people engage strike up a
messenger conversation which is private
it's behind the scenes and there's your
opportunity to make a sale Kevin might
have had great success if he had posted
something like want to use video to make
more sales drop a comment below then in
that case assuming Kevin's audience is
optimized his algorithm is optimized as
people start to see that post they're
going to start commenting which then
gives Kevin an opportunity to reach out
messenger and make the sale in messenger
well you might be asking well how do I
do that how do I make a sale in
messenger and if you've never had a
sales script that works really well in
messenger I've got an awesome script to
share with you it's an entire pre-sales
process that takes leads who engage in
your content and warms them up in
messenger so that they're ready to buy
from you and the cool thing about this
pre-sales process it works for old leads
who have already seen a lot of your
content as well as brand new leads who
haven't been nurtured at all so if
you're interested in seeing how you can
book more sales calls or sell Right In
messenger I'll put a link to the
resource in the description of this
video and you can get access there I
know we just covered a lot so here's a
quick recap if you want to get more
engagement on all your Facebook posts
there's three things that you need to
optimize within your account first you
need to optimize your audience second
you need to optimize your algorithm and
then third you need to optimize your
content once you do these three
optimizations your posts are going to be
seen by more people they're going to be
seen by the right people and you're
going to start getting more and more and
more engagement but in full transparency
I also have a secret tool and that
