play00:00

This is the most requested  episode of Game Theory ever.

play00:03

Over the last two months, we've received hundreds  upon hundreds of requests to play this game.

play00:09

Our subreddit is practically  bursting at the seams.

play00:12

Our comment section is overflowing.

play00:14

People are hungry for this game.

play00:17

So today, I will answer the call.

play00:19

Today, I will cover the game that  you have all been dying to see.

play00:24

Today, I will be theorizing  about Dress to Impress.

play00:28

No, no, no, no, wait, it's scarier than it sounds.

play00:31

Trust me.

play00:34

Hello, Internet.

play00:35

Welcome to Game Theory, the show  that never goes out of style.

play00:38

Although, I became very unsure of my  own personal style when I tried my

play00:42

hand at the Roblox game that everyone had  been requesting I play, Dress to Impress.

play00:46

It seemed simple enough.

play00:47

You just pick outfits, hairstyles, get your nails  done, all to try and match the chosen theme.

play00:52

Only for you to lose regardless because people  vote on what's cute rather than what's on theme.

play00:56

How on earth is this kawaii?

play00:58

So I have to say, I was a little  confused why this was so requested.

play01:01

I thought maybe Amy and I could do a  collab episode about the psychology

play01:05

behind why the theme didn't really seem to matter.

play01:07

But then your comments pointed something out.

play01:09

A book.

play01:09

And it would change everything.

play01:11

It turns out, it's not just  these outfits that are sus.

play01:14

What started as a simple April Fool's update

play01:17

has now become four months of nearly  daily updates across multiple games.

play01:22

All to tell a story of  tragedy, betrayal, and revenge.

play01:26

And so, I've been following along,  writing down my thoughts with each

play01:30

new update, theory crafting in  real time to try and solve it.

play01:33

So, sorry Amy, no collab today because  I gotta take a peek behind the fashion

play01:38

show curtain myself and find out what hidden  lore is hiding inside of Dress to Impress.

play01:44

That's what you get for caking me.

play01:47

So, what is this random book that totally  changed my perspective of the game?

play01:51

On the surface, it's just  a simple diary entry from

play01:53

an NPC nail technician that the  community has dubbed Nail Lady.

play01:56

Although, she doesn't seem  particularly fond of that name.

play01:59

Ahem.

play02:01

Ugh.

play02:02

Fine, I guess we can still collab.

play02:04

You can do the voice.

play02:05

The world's not ready for  my feminine voice anyway.

play02:07

Thank you, Tom.

play02:08

Ahem.

play02:09

They just call me Nail Lady when  I am so much more than that.

play02:14

My name is Lana, but no one calls me that.

play02:17

I'm gonna run away one day.

play02:18

Sounds pretty understandable, right?

play02:20

She just wants people to call her by her name,  but that's not what got everyone's attention.

play02:25

What stood out was on the next page,

play02:27

where she writes that she wants to "set fire  to the studio" and reveals a list of targets.

play02:32

She even has "Dealt With" written  next to some of the names.

play02:35

I mean, I'm sure we all have  that one colleague we don't like,

play02:38

but offing them might be a bit overdramatic.

play02:41

Maybe.

play02:42

Though it turns out, these aren't her colleagues.

play02:44

If you take a closer look at the names, some  of them are the names of the game's developers.

play02:49

Okay, cool.

play02:49

We've got a murdery protagonist who is  unhappy with the life the devs gave her,

play02:53

and so she is offering them one by one.

play02:56

Pretty straightforward, right?

play02:57

Well, it was until updates started rolling in.

play03:00

Lana's diary was no longer on full display,  but instead was hidden at the top of a cabinet.

play03:05

However, it was still readable,  and it said something new.

play03:09

That isn't me.

play03:10

They replaced me with some doppelganger.

play03:13

That's not me.

play03:14

I'm Lana.

play03:15

She's not.

play03:16

But she's pretending to be me.

play03:18

I don't know where I am.

play03:19

Gigi is holding me somewhere, so I can't escape.

play03:22

Please help me.

play03:24

I am so scared, and I hope that that thing  sitting in my salon chair doesn't harm my image.

play03:29

I think she's the reason why all  the players are going missing.

play03:33

And then, if you take a look at the  wall, you'll see three missing posters,

play03:36

the names of which match three of the  developers from Lana's target list.

play03:40

That person she mentions, Gigi, is also a  developer, and she has now taken Lana hostage,

play03:46

replacing her with this doppelganger, and not  the kind with extra eyes and missing mouths.

play03:51

All of this is to keep the game running smoothly,  so people wouldn't suspect she was gone.

play03:56

However, this is slightly confusing.

play03:58

Lana claims that these people are  missing because of this doppelganger,

play04:01

but the target list that matches the  missing posters came from her diary.

play04:06

Or was that actually the doppelganger's diary?

play04:08

I'm not entirely sure who I'm  supposed to be trusting here,

play04:11

but the diary does give us a Roblox user ID that  leads us to Lana's Roblox profile, LanaDoesNails.

play04:17

So we should probably start there, and  oh boy, this is where the fun begins.

play04:21

On her page is a link to a YouTube  account with a handful of short videos.

play04:25

The first video is called Awakening.

play04:27

A face appears and tells Lana,

play04:29

How dare you, Lana, spread our plans?

play04:32

Already, we're off to a mysterious start.

play04:34

Lana has betrayed whatever this Awakening is.

play04:37

I assume by telling us about the doppelganger.

play04:40

In a later video, Ode to Myself, she  once again mentions this wretched group.

play04:44

But in the description, tells us she's  trying to warn us that we are next.

play04:48

Is this group trying to take over the game?

play04:50

To replace all the players with mindless  doppelgangers that just follow the rules?

play04:55

Maybe they're also mad that  people aren't playing it right.

play04:57

There is one more video, but it  doesn't really give us anything new.

play05:01

So, I went back to Lana's Roblox page  and looked around for more clues.

play05:05

If you look under the Creations tab, you can see  that Lana is actually making a game of her own.

play05:10

And it's called Forest.

play05:11

It invites us to view the truth of Lana's story.

play05:15

Given that we're specifically looking  for lore, this is an enticing offer.

play05:19

But be warned, this game is  nothing like Dress to Impress.

play05:23

A blood-red filter covers the screen.

play05:25

Eerie music plays in the background.

play05:27

And a human eye is constantly watching you.

play05:30

As you wander through the forest, you can  find sentences that tell the story of Lana.

play05:34

That she was diagnosed with a terminal  illness that left her and her family in debt.

play05:39

And that she now works in  the salon just to get by.

play05:42

Given her diary told us  she hates it there so much,

play05:44

I suspect she turned to this  Awakening group for help.

play05:47

It would be classic cult-like manipulation.

play05:50

They promise her financial support only for them  to turn on her when she doesn't fall in line.

play05:55

And I think I might be right,  because as you explore the forest,

play05:58

Lana's doppelgangers try to kill you.

play06:01

This is the truth that they want hidden.

play06:03

But if you manage to avoid them,

play06:05

you can find a podium that requires  four people to open a portal to a maze.

play06:10

Get to the end, and you'll receive  a binary code that translates to...

play06:14

You may have finished your trials,  but the evil lurks throughout.

play06:17

This is not the end. There will be chaos.

play06:21

Well, chaos is usually bad, so I suppose  we should probably help Lana stop it.

play06:26

Fortunately, when I returned to Lana's page,  she had created a group called Saudade.

play06:30

Which is described as "the birth of an uprising.

play06:33

A new dawn where we stand united  against the forces of evil".

play06:37

Alright, let's go!

play06:38

Inside the group, there are a few subgroups too.

play06:41

One of which is called Coterie.

play06:43

A word that means "an exclusive group of persons  with a unifying common interest or purpose".

play06:48

Lana is already out here building a rebellion.

play06:52

Gathering people through the common  goal of exposing the Awakening.

play06:56

That is what led her to get  locked up in the first place.

play06:58

There's also another group called  Missing, and it contains four people.

play07:02

But these aren't the  developers, they're just people.

play07:05

These must be the missing people that  Lana was referring to in her diary.

play07:09

The ones the Awakening caused to go missing.

play07:12

She was trying to stop others from disappearing  by taking out the developers from the Awakening.

play07:17

I'm sorry that I doubted your innocence, Lana.

play07:20

Is what I would say if it wasn't  for this missing person's bio.

play07:24

You see, it's not a normal bio like most of them.

play07:27

It contains a Caesar Cipher.

play07:30

There are a few small mistakes in the  translation, but cleaned up, it says this.

play07:34

My death was planned by Lana, not evil.

play07:36

The Coterie's not just some group to help her.

play07:38

They're her sacrifices.

play07:40

Ha! I knew it!

play07:41

Cancel my therapy, guys!

play07:43

My trust issues are well-founded!

play07:45

Lana has been convincing us this whole  time that she is one of the good guys.

play07:50

That she was taken advantage of by the Awakening.

play07:53

But no!

play07:54

These missing people aren't just missing.

play07:57

They've been sacrificed by  the Awakening and by Lana.

play08:01

She was in on it the whole time.

play08:04

Or so I thought if it wasn't for  Lana's next game, Questionnaire.

play08:08

Here she'd appear for live events  to set the record straight.

play08:12

She confirmed some things like how the Awakening

play08:14

lured her in by promising to  pay off her financial debts.

play08:17

But as these live streams kept happening,  her answers began to contradict that truth.

play08:22

Suddenly, she actually loved the nail salon,

play08:24

which means she probably wouldn't have turned  to the Awakening for help in the first place.

play08:28

She also started saying that they weren't  evil, but people have been murdered.

play08:33

That's pretty evil.

play08:34

Is she being coerced again?

play08:36

Nope! Red text appeared on screen and said...

play08:39

Don't believe her!

play08:40

Please!

play08:41

That is not the real Lana!

play08:43

And everyone got booted out of the  stream with the reason listed as...

play08:47

"I am the real Lana."

play08:50

The Lana we've been talking  to was another doppelganger.

play08:53

The real Lana is innocent.

play08:56

But then Questionnaire got an update that added

play08:58

a house with a new version of  Lana's diary that said this...

play09:02

Jayla's eyes are gone.

play09:04

Nicholas's heart is gone.

play09:06

Jisoo's voice is gone.

play09:08

And Sadie has been taken apart.

play09:11

I pray that this stays private.

play09:14

And no one finds out my true  intentions with the Saudade.

play09:17

I cannot believe how easy it's been to make  these players believe that I am the victim.

play09:23

And now they're all on my side.

play09:25

They will all pay for how they treated me.

play09:29

So that whole kicking us off to get rid  of the doppelganger was also just a stunt.

play09:34

Lana has been playing the victim,

play09:36

making us believe anything bad was a  doppelganger working for the Awakening.

play09:40

But really, Lana was the villain behind it all.

play09:44

I tell ya, this story's got more  twists than an M. Night movie.

play09:47

After this reveal, Lana went full villain mode,

play09:50

executing three members of  the Coterie live on air.

play09:53

But the last member, Nelly,  wasn't going down so easily.

play09:57

Now what happened to Nicholas and all the people  you killed, sacrificed, is going to happen to you

play10:04

Seeing through Lana's deceit, Nelly  flips the script and kills her instead.

play10:09

Finally, Lana's reign of  tyranny and deceit would end.

play10:13

But I'm sure you could all figure  out where this is going, right?

play10:15

Once the dust settles,

play10:16

Lana's YouTube account posted a video  called The Last Serenade, and it said...

play10:22

There's still more to come.

play10:23

This time, it will be successful,  because I've opened the gate.

play10:28

That Lana that was just killed was a doppelganger.

play10:31

Again.

play10:32

But now, she's achieved her goal,  which was opening a gate, apparently?

play10:37

The keen-eyed among you will probably  recognize it from the Forest game.

play10:41

The gate that needed four people to activate it.

play10:44

And we now have three dead Coterie  members and Lana's dead doppelganger.

play10:49

Four bodies to help Lana open this new gate.

play10:52

Killing the Coterie members  wasn't about protecting her

play10:55

own skin or defending the Awakening.

play10:57

It was always part of her plan.

play10:59

And it's likely why she had sacrificed  the first four missing victims.

play11:04

But that, ladies and gentlemen,  was the end of Chapter 1.

play11:07

And there were two major  questions that everyone had.

play11:11

What is the portal, and why did Lana need it?

play11:14

Well, before we dive into  Chapter 2, here's what I think.

play11:17

Typically, when it comes to cults and sacrifices,

play11:19

portals would be used to summon  some kind of evil entity.

play11:23

However, the portal in the Forest that looked

play11:24

identical to this new one took  us to a new location instead.

play11:28

So, Lana and the Awakening aren't trying  to summon something, but go somewhere.

play11:33

Lana's motivations still seem  tied to what we saw in her diary.

play11:36

She wants to burn the salon to the ground,

play11:38

and she likely still wants to destroy  the devs who made her life so horrible.

play11:41

They designed her boring NPC life.

play11:44

They designed her tragic backstory.

play11:46

And so I suspect whatever lies beyond  this portal will help her to achieve that.

play11:50

Maybe she needs to find some demonic  monster to bring back and kill everyone.

play11:54

Or maybe this new world has some kind of  item that can make her an all-powerful being,

play11:59

able to transcend the game and  destroy the devs completely.

play12:03

Maybe it'd even allow her to enter our world.

play12:05

All of this would certainly  fit with the culty vibes.

play12:07

But whatever the answer is, I gotta  say I'm kinda hooked on this one.

play12:11

I know I've been sighing about the constant back  and forth of Doppelgangers versus the real Lana,

play12:16

but I'm just really impressed that there's this

play12:18

many twists hidden inside  a Roblox Runway Simulator.

play12:21

So I just wanted to take a minute to say thank  you guys for recommending this game to me.

play12:26

I'd have never known about this fascinating  experience if it wasn't for you.

play12:29

So please, if you've got recommendations, please  do let me know down in the comments below.

play12:34

I love getting exposed to new games,

play12:36

and I especially love covering games  that I know that you guys want to see.

play12:40

But I should stop with all this mushy  stuff because Chapter 2 is here,

play12:44

so it's time to see if I'm right.

play12:46

After a little bit of time, the Soudade added  a new group to its affiliate tab called Plague,

play12:51

showing the same portal that  we'd seen in Lana's latest video.

play12:55

But the creator of the group wasn't Lana.

play12:57

It's someone named Agamemnon.

play13:00

Ugh, that is going to be the worst thing to say.

play13:03

I'm gonna call you Aggy. Sound good?

play13:06

At the same time this new group was  made, Lana also made a post saying,

play13:10

Agamemnon, I hear your call. I hear it well.

play13:14

I am following your voice, and perhaps it  will lead me to the portal you told me about.

play13:20

Sounds to me like this guy is trapped  on the other side of the portal,

play13:24

in some kind of alternate world or dimension.

play13:27

That's why Lana needs the portal.  It's to free him or to be with him.

play13:32

Was this really just a tragic  love story this whole time?

play13:35

Soudade does mean the nostalgic longing  for a beloved yet absent person.

play13:40

So that kind of makes sense, but her  words also feel a bit too cult-y for me.

play13:45

So we could still be on the right track if he  turns out to be some kind of all-powerful demon.

play13:50

And we don't have to wait that long because  Lana released another game called The Fortress,

play13:54

and the start of it is on the other  side of the portal that Lana had opened.

play13:58

There are words written across the walls like  plague, metamorphosis, and I finally feel free.

play14:04

They're written over and over and over again,

play14:07

like the writings of a lunatic  trapped in a room for years.

play14:11

So basically me when the new  Poppy Playtime ARG dropped.

play14:14

Across the map, there are  notes from both Lana and Nelly,

play14:18

spelling out that while this is the real Lana,

play14:21

she's basically been brainwashed by  the guy she's following, good old Aggy.

play14:25

This stinks of classic cult leader behavior.

play14:28

A man who gathers others around him to worship  him like he's the second coming of Christ,

play14:33

filling people's heads with promises that  will all turn out to be lies in the end.

play14:37

Lana isn't in love with this guy, or maybe  she is, cult relationships are kind of weird,

play14:42

but it's more like she sees him as her savior  and will help her to get revenge on the Salon,

play14:48

which never ends well in these kinds of things.

play14:51

Lana will likely end up betrayed  at best or dead at worst.

play14:55

But now, ladies and gentlemen, it's  finally time to hear from Aggy himself,

play14:59

because you can find two doors  that require passwords to enter.

play15:03

The note next to the first one reads,

play15:04

call it, open the door, bestow me the truth.

play15:07

So we just repeat that second  phrase, bestow me the truth.

play15:10

That leads to a second door  which asks us, what is coming?

play15:14

The walls speak the truth.

play15:16

Well, we saw three things  written on the walls earlier.

play15:19

Finally, I feel free, metamorphosis, and plague.

play15:22

And it's that last one that opens the door.

play15:25

Inside, we find Aggy's helmet in the corner,

play15:27

revealing this to be his office, and  several notes are pinned to the wall.

play15:38

Aggy has been the one creating the  doppelgangers, which makes sense.

play15:46

Thanks to them, Lana deceived everyone  and was able to open the gate.

play15:49

But what did he mean by Lana is perfect?

play15:52

Cult leaders like this  always have ulterior motives,

play15:55

so what does her being perfect mean for him?

play15:58

Is it that she's the perfect  follower? The perfect bride?

play16:01

This has to be important.

play16:03

So I decided to look a little more  into Aggy, more specifically his name.

play16:08

And no, not just because it's hard to pronounce.

play16:10

This game has already used a  few words with deeper meaning,

play16:13

so I wondered if this would be the same for him.

play16:15

Turns out Agamemnon isn't just a random name.

play16:18

It comes from Greek mythology,  specifically the Trojan War.

play16:23

Agamemnon was leading an army to Troy by boat,

play16:25

and during the trip incurs the  wrath of the goddess Artemis.

play16:29

He's told that the only way to appease  her is to sacrifice his daughter.

play16:34

If he doesn't, then the army will  continue to suffer misfortune,

play16:38

most notably a plague, just like  the door to Aggy's room said.

play16:42

It asked what is coming,  and the answer was a plague.

play16:45

So if a plague is on the way, that would  mean that Aggy needs to sacrifice someone

play16:50

to appease whoever he angered, someone  that was perfect, someone like Lana.

play16:55

But then why bother with the doppelgangers?

play16:57

Well, in some versions of the myth, Agamemnon  tries to deceive Artemis with fake offerings,

play17:03

to trick her into thinking he killed  his daughter, but never really did.

play17:07

That is what the doppelgangers are for.

play17:09

If he can create one that is a perfect copy,  then he can sacrifice them and keep Lana alive.

play17:16

Is this guy actually a hero here?

play17:18

Trying to save humanity from a  plague and save Lana from her fate?

play17:22

Yeah, no.

play17:24

Another note in the fortress written by Aggy says,

play17:26

I need to create the perfect doppelganger.

play17:29

Lana will help me, and when all  is done, I will get rid of her.

play17:34

And there it is.

play17:35

Thanks to Lana, he can kill her, while also having

play17:38

a perfect doppelganger that  has all of her influence,

play17:41

while also following his commands.

play17:43

He would have full control of the sawdad  and all of the users that are a part of it.

play17:48

At this point, I was feeling  pretty good about the story.

play17:51

It felt like we had a backstory, a motive, an  idea of where the story was moving towards.

play17:56

That was until I discovered this  note hiding behind the bookcase.

play18:00

It's so easy to manipulate those  that are blind to others' tactics.

play18:04

While I feel bad, I just remember that Lana,  the real one, is just a vessel that empowers me.

play18:11

Okay, so I guess he isn't going to sacrifice Lana?

play18:14

At first, I thought of the vessel as a  container, something that stores something else.

play18:19

And given my theorizing in the indie horror scene,

play18:21

I wondered if she was going to become  a vessel for someone else's soul.

play18:25

Maybe Aggy's daughter from the  Greek myth, or maybe Aggy himself,

play18:29

but it all just felt like too much of a stretch.

play18:31

Outside of the myth, there's been no mention of  a daughter or really anything to do with souls.

play18:36

But then I remembered that  vessel has another meaning.

play18:39

It can also be referencing a ship  like Agamemnon used to sail to Troy.

play18:44

Lana isn't going to contain Aggy's spirit.

play18:48

She's just the metaphorical ship that  he can use to escape this fortress.

play18:52

She's the one that opened the portal,  something he couldn't have done without her.

play18:56

And now she's going to empower him to escape.

play18:59

But how?

play19:00

Well, in one note, he says this.

play19:02

I consume the parts Lana gives me.

play19:05

My true form will be victorious.

play19:07

I just need more parts to fulfill me.

play19:10

We heard from Lana's diary that the missing  people had their eyes and limbs taken out.

play19:14

Well, this is where they went.

play19:16

Aggy is using them to create his true  form so that he can escape this dimension.

play19:21

On Lana's YouTube channel, a new video got  posted showing security footage of Aggy and Lana

play19:26

sacrificing the last KOTORi member, Nelly.

play19:29

But instead of sacrificing her at a  live event, Aggy unleashes a monster.

play19:34

We only catch glimpses of it, but it's a very tall

play19:37

and misshapen humanoid body  covered in eyes and teeth.

play19:41

Aggy remarks to Lana,

play19:42

Was it not what you were expecting?

play19:45

No, Aggy, this is not what any of us were

play19:47

expecting when you said you  were making your true form.

play19:50

I was expecting the most  chattified Roblox character ever,

play19:54

but instead you went full Vita Carnis on me.

play19:57

But while that reveal was confusing  and a little disappointing,

play20:01

there was another reveal in this moment.

play20:03

Lana, out of nowhere, feels regret.

play20:06

Nelly, I'm so sorry.

play20:08

In the live stream, she tried  to kill Nelly with zero remorse.

play20:12

But in this video, she's apologizing.

play20:14

Later on, Lana begins sacrificing  members of the Soudad group,

play20:17

Horizon, a group filled with real Roblox users.

play20:20

But if you look around the room during the stream,

play20:23

you can find some strange  text above the chamber door.

play20:26

Another Caesar cipher.

play20:27

And it says,

play20:28

I'm so sorry.

play20:30

I didn't want to do this to the  Horizon, but A made me do it.

play20:34

This feels like a big shift in her personality.

play20:37

Until now, she's been freely killing people.

play20:39

Anyone that rebelled against  Aggy liked the coterie easy.

play20:42

But now, Aggy requires innocent  people to be sacrificed.

play20:46

But suddenly, his hold on her began to fade.

play20:49

And then she released one final game.

play20:51

Sanagen's Gallery, which in  Swedish means gallery of truth.

play20:55

As soon as you start the game,  you are met with a list of rules.

play20:58

But the most important rule is  everything you see here is truth.

play21:02

Lana, the real Lana, is finally  giving us her side of things.

play21:06

No more doppelgangers, no more lies.

play21:09

Just her.

play21:10

There are a lot of photos of Lana in this gallery.

play21:12

But the deeper you go, you can  start to find plaques next to them.

play21:16

Lana, the one who tells the truth.

play21:18

The one you should trust.

play21:19

Lana, the real one.

play21:20

The one that isn't in the chair.

play21:22

Vessel, you'll meet her soon.

play21:24

Once innocent, pure, and serene.

play21:27

Most of these make sense.

play21:28

Lana is telling us the truth here.

play21:30

The Lana in the livestream chairs  has always been a doppelganger.

play21:33

And we've talked about how Lana is going  to be Aggy's mean of escape, his vessel.

play21:38

But what is this apple thing about?

play21:40

The quote about losing innocence matches  the Christian symbolism for apples.

play21:44

The fruit that was eaten by Adam and Eve from  the tree of the knowledge of good and evil

play21:48

that made them lose their innocence.

play21:50

However, we've spent a bit of time  looking at Greek mythology this episode.

play21:53

So I thought I'd have a look to see  if apples had any importance there.

play21:57

And oh boy, do they!

play21:59

Specifically, in the story  with our good friend Aggy.

play22:03

The Trojan War.

play22:04

The story began because Paris of Troy had  to choose who was the fairest goddess.

play22:09

Hera, Athena, or Aphrodite.

play22:11

He ends up choosing Aphrodite, but she actually

play22:13

bribed him by offering him  Helen of Sparta as a bride.

play22:17

However, she was already married to  none other than Agamemnon's brother.

play22:22

Sending the two nations to war with each other.

play22:25

But the thing that forced Paris to choose  between the goddesses in the first place

play22:29

was a golden apple that had to  the fairest one inscribed upon it.

play22:34

It became known as the Apple of Discord.

play22:37

And if you take a look at the  badges for the Fortress game,

play22:40

you'll find one called the Judgment of Paris.

play22:43

The same name given to the  start of this Greek myth.

play22:47

For Lana to be described here as an apple,

play22:49

it could be referencing her sowing  discourse amongst the community.

play22:53

The real Lana having regrets and  changing her mind is ruining Aggy's plan.

play22:57

But you know what? I'm gonna take a bit of a  swing here and say it's actually something bigger.

play23:02

If the apple is what caused Agamemnon to go to  war and endure all that suffering in the myth,

play23:07

what if Lana, as the apple here,

play23:09

is somehow responsible for Aggy  being trapped in the first place?

play23:13

Aggy clearly doesn't care for Lana.

play23:16

He calls her a pawn in his game,

play23:18

someone he's okay with getting rid  of once their usefulness has stopped.

play23:21

He even questions if she is perfect  when he's making the doppelgangers.

play23:24

He doesn't want to use her, but he has to.

play23:27

And looking back through the Fortress map,

play23:29

you can find an apple on Aggy's  desk with an arrow going through it.

play23:33

He cannot help but telegraph his disdain  for her, and yet she is completely unaware.

play23:38

It would also be quite a poetic narrative,

play23:40

having the person who is somehow responsible for

play23:43

getting him trapped there being  the only way that he can get out.

play23:46

It is a bit of a leap, I'll admit.

play23:48

But the leap from chapter 1 to 2 was also  quite big, so who knows with this series?

play23:53

But there you have it, theorists.

play23:54

After four months of waiting, we finally  have uncovered the law of dress to impress.

play23:59

The story of a girl fallen on hard  times, upset with her lot in life,

play24:03

and sought help from a cult  that promised her the world.

play24:06

She was swayed by the charms of its leader,

play24:09

who took her under his wing, using her to  make doppelgangers to deceive everyone.

play24:14

Sacrificing players to make his perfect  form and free him from his prison.

play24:19

Or at least, that's what I  think is happening right now.

play24:21

This game is still updating almost  daily, which is really impressive,

play24:26

but as a little peek behind the theorist curtain,

play24:29

our scripts are usually written two to three  weeks before you guys ever see a video.

play24:33

So, when a game like this is updating so  often, it becomes nearly impossible to make

play24:38

a theory that isn't gonna get debunked  just days after I finish recording.

play24:42

Hi, future Tom here. That  is exactly what happened.

play24:46

There weren't as many updates as I was expecting,

play24:48

seems they're mainly waiting  for the Halloween update,

play24:50

but there was a livestream where  Lana clarified one crucial detail,

play24:54

that we were wrong about her being the vessel.

play24:57

Turns out, the vessel is actually this fleshy

play24:59

room that you can find hidden in  the corner of Dress to Impress,

play25:02

that the community has dubbed the Meat Room.

play25:05

I mean, we only thought that Lana  was this vessel because, you know,

play25:09

she was literally referred  to as the vessel by Aggy.

play25:13

But, okay, if this room is the  vessel, what does that mean?

play25:16

Well, given all the references to the  Trojan War, I think this Meat Room,

play25:20

this vessel, must have to be related  to the famous vessel from that story,

play25:24

the Trojan Horse.

play25:25

Something that was able to sneak the  Greeks into enemy territory and destroy it.

play25:30

This Meat Room is the vessel  that will transport Aggy from

play25:33

the fortress into the world of Dress to Impress,

play25:36

into his enemy's territory,  where his true form will be

play25:39

able to take revenge and destroy  everything, just like in the myth.

play25:43

But don't worry, Lana isn't totally useless now.

play25:46

In that weird Meat Room, a key has also been  added, one with the name Lana attached to it.

play25:51

So, while she may not be the actual  vessel, she's definitely the key to it.

play25:56

In Lana's latest YouTube video, she  shows the Dress to Impress world,

play25:59

only now it's dark, red, covered  in eyes, and we see another portal.

play26:05

I could see Lana or her doppelgangers  doing one final sacrifice.

play26:09

One that will open up the portal and allow Aggy to

play26:12

escape his prison through  the vessel, the Meat Room,

play26:15

and then he will be able to  enact his revenge and turn

play26:18

the world into that hellscape we see in the video.

play26:21

The only other thing I'll note is that Lana  seems to have completely lost her sense of guilt,

play26:26

and is back to being fully gung-ho  about taking over Dress to Impress.

play26:29

Given her past changes like this, I  wouldn't be at all surprised if we

play26:33

have another doppelganger on  our hands, just lying to us.

play26:37

So, who knows, maybe Lana will turn  out to be the vessel after all.

play26:40

But regardless, I think we can all  agree that this game is fascinating.

play26:44

I don't think anybody would have expected this  level of storytelling from a game like this.

play26:48

So, I tip my hat to you, developers, keep it up.

play26:51

I, for one, am very excited  to see where things go next.

play26:54

But in the meantime, remember,  it's all just a theory.

play26:58

A game theory!

play27:00

Thanks for watching.

play27:01

And if you've enjoyed uncovering the dark  secrets behind a seemingly innocent game,

play27:05

then you should definitely check out our  episode on the very disturbing Lacey Games.

play27:09

Step through the portal, theorists.
