Transcripts
starting
over so it it really is depends on what
message the movie wants to uh pass to
the
audience
uh I saw the movie I I think one thing
you can get out is like a is a you know
people longing for Connection in a such
a big city
in in such a big crowd but everybody
feels very isolated you know
single very isolated and lonely and that
they all long for connection but then
for the two roles for the boy and the
girl and when they longing for
connection you know they're both longing
for connection but they are uh have a
sort of a different uh um perspective I
think from that way the guy is more
uh outreaching because he's you know
obviously when they connected they feel
really good so the guy is really
outreaching to uh find somebody that who
can connect I think the girl is the same
but on the other hand she's more nervous
about getting real connection like
getting Connection in in person in real
world because you can see that the
reason is you can make into that the
reason is she's more worried about what
if uh once you you meet the real
person the connection will be
lost so from that
perspective actually I think in the
movie's ending can change a little bit
because currently from the ending
because you know she went with a
boyfriend or somebody else another guy
you you can basically you come back and
you think okay all her reaction is she
she may not feel like full fulfillment
in her current relationship and she she
find some some guy and she talked and
then she you know really connected
that's why she had a trouble making
decision whether she wants to meet the
guy or not but on the other hand if you
um don't use that
ending that might be different because
in a way that uh uh you can basically
emphasize on how people is uh you know
really is among a big crowd and still
feel very isolated but on the other hand
they really long for connection so if
you don't have the ending like that
maybe the goal well maybe like a for
instance it's just very you know without
any deep thinking like a when the two
guys when the two people meet in the
laundry mat and they didn't talk right
so they sort of like felt that maybe her
maybe him but they didn't speak if they
speak up if they spoke up they might
know because they talked to each other
so the voice they might know still they
didn't that's why and and she just ran
away I want to avoid the contact so I
think that for that way you can maybe
like a like a the person Henry played if
she wants to if he wants to like speak
up and she saw him you know trying to
speak up then just run away so that
could be another ending in a way that
just to emphasize that people are uh you
know in such a big city although there
are so many people but you still feel
very isolated but inside you feel you
very much want to be connected and once
you connect you feel so much better but
then you still have the fear of being
connected that's a I think that's a one
uh perspective I'm think
so okay so I think the running trend of
criticism that we've had for delicates
that we've probably made it a little too
ambiguous cuz
like you know not that I think
it's um so Kyle are great screen writer
so I think it's
like we really want um I think his
intention was like for for us to wonder
okay so does she already did she already
have a girl a boyfriend while she was
talking to Henry or you know is that guy
just a friend or you know something like
that but I think it's um even Daniel
said it today that if we were to pull
back that ambiguity I think it will
probably be effective and I think your
way of looking at the
film is also like a really I actually
really like that perspective like the
fact that she likes it only because it's
not real and Henry speaks up so so then
she feels a little intimidated by it
yeah she likes it well she likes it it's
real or not she likes it but it's not
face to face but why she man away is
because she's worried about whatever
happens face to face she will be
disappointed and you know that would be
like uh why so many people are isolated
because they might be disappointed if
they meet person people facing facei
face to
face so so that could be like a real exp
real expression of you know even in a
such a big crowd everybody is very
isolated but at the same time deep
inside they really want to be connected
but even though they really want to be
connected they have a lot of fear about
what if fear so that's why stop them
being like a going forward to be
connected
so if that
perspective I think will be a little
deeper than what you just said that
whether she has a boyfriend that's why
she felt good but she still didn't go
you know I think that that the the being
connected the perspective will be much
deeper and also is more more
generic all right thank you Mom sure
thank you thank you thank you
