jeunes de banlieue et la bredonne nous
avons organisé toute une série

suis fait bordel et les journaux

le monde de demain la série initié par
Arte insiste bien sur ce point la
première moitié des années 80 voit
l'émergence du hip-hop sur tous les
fronts Paris banlieue télévision jamais
vu autant de noirs à la télé danse DJing

avec le bitume comment les percevez
aujourd'hui ces années 80 et comment
vous expliquez qu'il y a une fascination
quand même pour cette décennie de la
part des jeunes générations beaucoup se
disent que en ce temps là dans il y

2023 visite de l'expo en compagnie de
notre collègue Frédéric Cantu sur le
sujet jamais trop pointu
qu'il s'agisse de mode de design ou de
graphismes les domaines de prédilection
du Musée des Arts Décoratifs les années
80 en France sont indissociables de
l'arrivée de la gauche au pouvoir
pour le ministère de la culture dont le
budget est alors doublé les arts
appliquées doivent bénéficier de la même
reconnaissance que les beaux-arts du
côté du design l'impulsion vient
désormais des galeries elles deviennent
les vitrines privilégiées d'une
génération de designers dont les
priorités changent
c'est plutôt l'effet visuel par rapport
à l'esthétique le concept par rapport à
la fonction on veut un petit peu faire
table rase de la modernité le meuble
fait sens comme un sculpture ou comme un
tableau le meuble peut avoir une
présence vous avez une galerie qui
s'appelait néo tout bah voilà ça
caractérise un peu la période justement
c'est des néoclassicisme néo-futurisme
néo-modernisme voilà on puise un petit
peu comme ça dans toutes les périodes
dans cette société en effervescence où
l'impact visuel prime sur tout la mode
investit le vestiaire masculin et ose
toutes les excentricités je suis arrivé
dans cette usine du Nord qui était kaway
qui dormait un peu sur l'idée des coupes
ventes traditionnelles et je leur ai dit
il faut faire un vêtement pauvre un
couple pour une famille donc j'ai
inventé ce principe de vêtements
bicéphale en quelque sorte et on pouvait
s'étreindre sans être vu par le public
c'est une époque de grande audace avec
l'idée toujours
de partager l'idée de faire une mode
pour l'univers qui propage des ondes
positives

et le rock dans tout ça en février 1980
le magazine Actuel fait sa Une avec le
groupe marksad Titran les jeunes gens
modernes aiment leur maman 43 ans plus
tard on retrouve ce jeune homme moderne
Frank Darcel exitariste de marquis de
Saad pour parler des années 80 ça me
paraît une époque extraordinairement
ouverte et novatrice il y avait cette
idée que il y aurait des sons nouveaux
tous les trois mois il y aurait une
nouvelle idée un nouveau concept qui
jaillirait pas seulement pas seulement
d'actuel ou de Paris de tous les de
toutes les villes connectées à ce
mouvement ces pièces de Movida dans tout
le monde occidental et c'était c'était
génial à vivre quoi vous aviez le
sentiment d'être vraiment un peu un
tournant de l'histoire 80 c'est aussi
caractérisé par le fait qu'une partie de
la jeunesse dont nous on se désintéresse
totalement de la politique c'est-à-dire
la politique c'est pas tellement changé
maintenant ceci dit à des il y a des
retours mais on sait que la politique
nous nous sauvera pas et
c'était assez intéressant dans ce sens
c'est qu'on doit construire nous-mêmes
nos propres systèmes de valeurs
reprends-toi zéro ce qui me frappe
maintenant en fait c'est de voir que le
l'idée de nos futurs le côté nihiliste
très individualiste de l'époque était
quand même assez visionnaire parce que à
l'époque il y avait encore de l'espoir
on va dire de manière générale et on le
ressentait alors que le New futur en
réalité c'est c'est aujourd'hui quoi et
donc c'est comme si les années 80 avait
voulu on avait voulu s'étourdir une
dernière fois en pressant que ça allait
pas aller en s'arrangeant mais on avait
encore à l'époque la possibilité
d'imaginer que le futur serait glorieux

la Paris a rien à faire juste marcher
dans les rues et en Allemagne
musicalement ça s'est passé comment on
file à Berlin vient Skype beau comme une
VHS pascam de 1983 nous entretenir avec
Théo le sourd auteur de cette somme
berline sampler histoire de confronter
la noyau deutchevelle oui nénate tout ça
et einstewarten au début on disait même
qu'il y avait deux
parce que le nom est plutôt été donné au
début à la scène qui naissait
directement du punk qui était vraiment
une scène
radicale expérimental etc les gens du
sel d'or comme Daf et puis
très rapidement le les maisons de
disques allemandes sont rendus compte
qu'elle pouvait faire de l'argent avec
ce nouveau style qui était en train de
naître le versant mainstream de la noyau
Deutsche vélo s'incarne dans les Data de
trio ou les 99 ballons de Nena

effectivement rien de bien méchant à
côté du dynamitage des formes prenez par
einstourzendo noient

ce genre de dichotomie un peu plus fort
qu'ailleurs puisque la vie était un peu
différente c'était quand même une île au
milieu de l'Allemagne de l'Est quand les
groupes comme ça
international qui se sont quelque peu
normalisés avec le temps quelque peu
mais les premières années des années 80
c'est vraiment des années de pure
expérimentation ou les musiciens avaient
assez peu de considération pour qui
écoutait et quels résultats ça aurait en
fait beaucoup de gens se sont essayés à
faire de la musique comme ça mais
vraiment un terrain pouvait se permettre
de le faire à plein temps pratiquement
donc ça rend leur musique comme une
sorte de continent un peu à part du
reste de la musique un peu comme était

pense pas qu'ils font l'image de Berlin

maintenant on peut également investir le
champ pictural et notamment les libres
figurations là encore le match France -
Allemagne tient toutes ses promesses
même s'il ne s'est pas joué assez vite
le 8 juillet 82 qu'on l'appelle
figuration libre en France neuille de en
Allemagne ou graffiti à New York nous
sommes là face moins à un mouvement qui
a une conjonction de tendance ville qui
s'abrevait au punk rock et au comics
des années 80 tous les jeunes voulaient
être dans un groupe de rock aujourd'hui
tous les jeunes veulent peut-être
designer ou artistes enfin bon

cette scène se caractérise par
l'expressionnisme la spontanéité la
vitesse
mais je pense que le noyau commun était
l'expressivité et qui nous a réuni
on voit que les Français ont un ancrage
dans la BD beaucoup plus on était
diffusé par les fans on est diffusé dans
la presse et pas tellement dans les
galeries alors que j'ai l'impression que
les Américains les Allemands étaient
plus déjà dans le marché c'est aussi et
surtout une scène qui a su rencontrer
son temps le début des années 80 un
concentré hédoniste pas encore malmené
par le sida
retour au Musée des Arts déco qui en
écho à la grande expo années 80 en
consacre une seconde à Étienne Robial
Robial directeur artistique libraire
éditeur graphiste et inventeur de
l'habillage télévisuel les années 80 à
lui tout seul
probial ce fut d'abord
d'étalonneur la bande dessinée d'auteur
la volonté c'est d'éditer mais pas
n'importe quoi et surtout pas n'importe
comment mais on ne fait pas d'album on
fait des livres donc c'est vrai il y a
toujours un peu un côté
provoque et de se placer là où il y a
personne
pour tout simplement innover je suis la
télé dont il se fichait pas mal va lui
faire les yeux doux pour les enfants du
rock d'abord en 82
enfants du rock il y a eu le projet avec
Rousselet de de Canal+ qui se dessinait
il se dessinait Pelus plaisait pas trop
et puis très vite je suis arrivé à les
convaincre que le signe algébrique avait
une plus grande force ce serait mieux
que ça s'appelle canal plus algébrique
que pus mais emblématique des années 80
la création de Canal+ de la même façon
que l'habillage de chêne c'est un
nouveau que que vous inventez en fait
oui alors j'invente aussi par la force
des choses c'est que là pour Canal+ faut
tout faire donc le concept d'habillage
il est venu de là faut trouver faut être
inventif vous trouvez des systèmes et
moi mes systèmes sont simples ils sont
ils sont géométriques il y a des codes
couleurs il y a 8 couleurs 8 x 8 64 ce
qui fait déjà 64 accords donc c'est
cette histoire de plutôt un système
économique et à Lescure je vais te créer
je vais dessiner trois pantalons trois
vestes trois chemises et trois cravates
et tu vas pouvoir combiner mon seul
souci c'est que n'importe quelle veste
avec n'importe quel pantalon et ainsi de
suite donc c'est devenu un truc de
d'habillage et c'est comme ça qui est né
le mot que ce soit sur du papier ou que
ce soit sur un écran pour moi c'est la
même chose c'est donc sur une ellipse et
en 7 que l'on clôt ce dossier voilà Arte
info plus c'est fini pour aujourd'hui
les années 80 sont derrière nous loin
derrière nous mais on sera toujours un
plaisir d'y retourner
