most effective ways to get new clients
for your business without spending a
single dollar these are some of the
techniques that I still use in my
cleaning business today and you'll find
that they're in a really effective way
to get new business so let's jump
straight into it so number one is
friends and family you know this is
something that should not be underes
estimated you know your friends and
family will be the biggest spokesman
biggest spokeswoman for your business
and they will tell their friends tell
their family that you know that you have
a cleaning business it's something that
is interesting for them to talk about
with their friends you know something
new something different so you should
really try to leverage this this pool
because they will be gunning for your
success so one way to do this is really
to give them like a money off voucher
code you can tell them for example that
you know firstly you could say please
contact all your you know friends or
family who you think may be interested
in a um in a in a cleaning uh company
you can even incentivize them a bit more
to to Really push them uh you know you
could say you know if if your friends
use your specific voucher code so let's
say you have a friend called John if
they use the of Alo John 10 and they'll
get you know $10 off their first
cleaning they'll get money off and you
get money that we can pay you as well
for that so using the voucher codes can
be a really effective way just to sort
of uh incentivize your friends and
family just to spread the word uh a bit
more obviously this is something that
you will probably do anyway you know
when you start off your cleaning
business but even once your business is
up and running make sure to to follow up
with your friends you know maybe you can
send them an email send them in a text
just to remind them every so often that
you have this incentivization structure
uh in place so friends and family is a
really really effective way to get new
clients and as I said use this voucher
code system to give them a further kick
number two is the Facebook groups so you
know wherever you are around the country
there will be local moms and dads and
parents Facebook groups you know you
know depending on where specifically you
are there may be lots of them there'll
May there'll probably be some groups
that are more prominent and more active
than others but what you want to do is
to try to become members of those groups
because you know being a parent myself
having a cleaning company to help with
the upkeep of your home is super
important we don't have a lot of time
and you know we are always looking for
additional help so parents you
particularly parents or younger children
are always looking for cleaning cleaning
companies cleaning services to help so
what you'll find is that if you join
some of these groups that you'll you'll
scan through some of the posts you'll
find you know people asking for
recommendations for cleaning companies
for made service and if you come across
those post and these can be a
potentially great source of business for
you there's there's a couple of things
to know you know the ways that you
should and shouldn't uh do this so first
of all when you try to join these groups
most of them will have some series of
questions they won't be public groups
there'll be private groups that will
require the admin of the group to accept
you and you know you need to be very
very upfront you know when you join
these groups you can say you know my
name's you know Sean I run a cleaning
business in your area we work with lots
of families we realize that you know
families are looking for cleaning
companies help with cleaning and we
don't want to sell but if someone if we
come across a post where someone is
asking for recommendations then we would
be happy to give them some further
information and you might say something
like you know we will give you know
members of the group a discount code or
something like that uh to really help
them and you know what you'll find is
that you know you won't be accepted to
to all the groups some of them will be
more stringent and you know require you
to be you know a parent of of the area
you know obviously if you are a parent
and you have young kids then you can
just join these groups anyway but it's
far better to be upfront with it because
if you get into these groups and you
start pitching your services you'll just
get kicked out straight away so it's
it's it's not really a long-term game so
that would be the first thing I would
suggest you know to be very upfront with
what you're doing and then secondly once
you've been accepted into these groups
it's really important that you don't
spam the group don't be posting every
day about your great cleaning services
great cleaning companies people will be
completely put off by that the way you
want to approach it is that if someone
does post asking for recommendations for
cleaning companies that's your
opportunity to potentially get someone
into interested in what you do so the
way that we do it is that we say hi I'm
Sean I run this local cleaning company
we work with lots of local families in
the area feel free to check us out at
the link below and what we also do that
is important is We'll add a voucher code
so we'll say you know if you do end up
booking use the uh use the uh voucher
code Facebook 20 and you'll get20 off
your first cleaning and that's really a
great way to do it because it gives the
Facebook member who's posted you know a
little incentive to try you out because
they're getting some sort of money off
code but importantly for you it also
allows you to track uh new clients more
effectively that's a broader point you
want to be tracking as many of your
marketing channels as possible so using
a voucher code in these Facebook groups
it will allow you to completely
attribute any new Facebook clients you
get from these groups by using um this
discount code so that's the way that you
really want to approach you know
promoting your services is it needs to
be softer it can't be aggressive it
can't be outbound it needs to be
receptive so what you want to be doing
is that you want to identify and try and
join these Facebook groups in your area
and what you can do when you join these
groups is you can do a keyword search uh
Within These groups so you can type in
cleaning company made service and it
will bring up all the posts of people
that have asked for recommendations or
or posted including those words and you
obviously want to prioritize those
groups where there's been more cleaning
related posts than than fewer but once
you've joined those groups then it
becomes a case of you know every day or
every couple of days either you or your
VA logging into Facebook doing a keyword
search in these groups and just seeing
if any new recommended cleaner post come
up because if they do then you want to
use the the message template that I've
talked about and the reason why this is
can be a really really effective tool
longer term is that you know as you
start this process and you reply to
people you know that person who's posted
asking for recommendation on Facebook
will obviously find Value in what you've
done they they will probably look but
there are lots and lots of Facebook
lurkers who will click on the link and
check you out anyway even though they
haven't posted even though they haven't
messaged and the other powerful thing is
that you know if someone say one of the
members of the group say today doesn't
need a cleaning company but maybe in 6
months time they do they'll go to the
Facebook group and just type exactly as
you've done cleaning companies and
they'll come up with a big list and if
they see you posting sort of regularly
and see your link then those people will
actually check you out you know and and
they and your previous responses your
previous links will still get traffic
for people in the future as well so do
not underestimate how effective this
Facebook group strategy can be you want
to bake it into your daily routine bake
it in and make sure sure that you're
updated and checking for new recommended
cleaner posts and you will get a steady
stream of new people coming to your site
some of those will then get in touch
with you to get a price and then some of
those will become booked clients as well
so number three is Partnerships I think
Partnerships is a really really
effective and free way to to get a great
source of new clients we can look at
Partnerships in a number of ways so the
first thing to think about is looking at
your area and thinking okay who are my
my target clients which are the types of
clients that I have in my cleaning
business today you know and and what
other services would my clients also use
and you know the more similar to what
you do the better so let's say you know
we run a house cleaning business uh it
may be a great idea to partner up with a
window cleaning business you know
assuming you don't offer window cleaning
you know that's very very close what you
might find is that the people who are
spending money on window cleaning will
probably be spending money on house
cleaning uh again if you don't offer
carpet cleaning or floor cleaning you
may want to uh have a partnership with a
carpet cleaning business in your area so
you want to think about which companies
in your area uh share the same types of
clients and the closer they are to what
you do the better they obviously don't
want to be direct competitors if you're
a house cleaning business you'd own want
a partner with another house cleaning
business that wouldn't work but the way
to set it up is that you want to for
example in the window cleaning example
let's say you know you have identified
10 window cleaning businesses in your
area you want to contact them and you
want to say ask them if they would be
interested in you know having some sort
of partnership you know where you could
promote their services with your
existing clients in exchange for them
promoting your services to their clients
and really if you pitch it correctly it
should be a win-win for both um Partners
you know you may well have some clients
that are already using both your
services but in reality there'll be lots
and lots of clients where you know a new
pool of clients that you can Target as
well and you could get some new business
from that um as well so if they are open
up to a partnership the next stage to to
discuss is aside from you know a softer
Arrangement about Pro promoting them you
want to try and use a um a bonus system
as well a voucher code system and
exactly the same way as we used it in
Facebook we want to use it with our
partners because it allows us to track
how many clients each partner is sending
so tell your window cleaning partner if
you use say Sean's cleaning uh 20 tell
your window cleaning partner if they
email out to their clients saying you
know are you interested in a house
cleaning service we've recently pass
partnered up with Sean's cleaning
service use the discount code Sean
Sean's cleaning 20 to get $20 off your
first cleaning that is a very simple uh
you know ask of your partner and you can
tell them every time someone books
service you know with that code you can
obviously track how many people are
using that code and you can say okay for
every uh client we get we're going to
send you say $25 and this is a very
clear way that you can see how many
clients have being referred to you by
using this uh voucher code system in
exactly the same way you can promote
Dave's window cleaning services to your
clients and you can say okay we'll use
this discount code as well and from
their side if they can track how many
bookings have come in again they could
pay you the same amount going back um
and the reason why this works is that it
will be very unusual if you sent each
other exactly the same number of clients
so you know you may find that one
partner is sending more clients than the
other and that may feel a little bit
unfair but if you have this bonus this
money uh system set up so for every
client that's sent over you send them
money then they will continue to be
happy to promote um your your services
so the Partnerships is super important
have a look at what client type you
service at the moment uh which other
companies they may use and you want to
try and find similar ones so you know
other cleaning related Service Partners
would be the obvious way to look but you
could also look at say uh car
dealerships or restaurants or you know
bars or shops or you know other
establishments like that but obviously
they're going to be less close so you
may find that you don't get the best
results compared to say using other you
know non-competing cleaning
services so Partnerships are really
important as a side note you know what
we find is a really powerful tool for
getting in touch with business owners
who we haven't got in touch with before
is is is LinkedIn you could obviously
just call these business owners up or
send them an email but people gen
generally tend to be very very uh
apprehensive about you know getting a
cold message from someone they don't
know uh and that's perfectly reasonable
I get loads of cold messages every day I
have exactly the same uh response but
it's worth looking at LinkedIn LinkedIn
is obviously a social network I've
talked about LinkedIn on a few of my
other videos on my channel and it's
really a softer way to get that intro
you know rather than sending a cold
email a cold message straight away to
someone that you haven't met you can use
LinkedIn as a way to engage with you
know new potential Partners maybe start
liking some of their posts maybe comment
on some of their posts maybe send a
connection request and then if all that
happens then you can send a message
introducing what you do it's a it's a
much more softer introduction people are
going to be much more uh happy to to
engage with you if there's some sort of
Engagement before rather than just
sending out a completely cold message so
that's just a little side note it's
worth when you're contacting these new
potential partners that you've never
spoken to before it's worth looking at
LinkedIn as a way to to uh to sort of
warm these new contacts up before you
start contacting them so number four is
your current clients and people really
underestimate the value of what they
already have in their business um
because if you have a number of
recurring clients in your business it
means that they are H what you're uh
providing so these will be natural
spokesmen uh to your business a really
effective way to try and get new clients
is really to um again use the same
voucher code tell your existing clients
that if they you know introduce a friend
or family member uh and they become a
client of ours we will give them money
off their next uh cleaning in exactly
the same way you can use a specific
referral code you know if it's someone
who's called David Smith you can say
David Smith 20 uh when they contact
their friends tell them to use this code
and again we can track any new bookings
that have come up our way and then we
can give David Smith our current client
that money off and the reason this works
so well is even though you're giving
money off to the new client and you're
giving money back to the current client
you know usually you're going to be
getting far more from that new client
than you're having to pay pay out in
these referral fees so this is a really
great thing to do make sure your contact
to your current clients fairly regularly
about this it doesn't it shouldn't be
every week it shouldn't be every month
but maybe every 3 months you know just
remind your clients you know you can
send an email to them or send them a
text message just to remind them that
this is set up because you know you will
get some clients that if they realize
they're getting $20 off each cleaning
they just tell everyone they want to get
as much money off as possible you get
other clients that won't do it but you
know again this is a great way of
getting new clients and because you be
going to be getting more money in than
you're you're paying out again it's
extremely cost effective Fifth and
finally is your email list so we talked
about the current clients in the last
point but this this point point five
talks about your email list so when I
talk about your email list this should
be all the people that have ever
inquired about your services obviously
if you've got your current clients
you're contacting your current clients
in point 4 in 0 five this is talking
about people that have maybe inquired
about your services but not booked or
maybe they've booked a one-off job a few
weeks ago but they're not in your
calendar at the moment so these people
are really really valuable because they
have shown that they are interested in
what you're you're offering because
they've either you know they've sent a a
quote request or they've actually used
your services previously so they are
really in the market for what um you do
so again what you can do is use a
voucher code here to to try to
reinitiate them you know you you've got
contact details of all these people
you've got an email address you've got a
text message so so you can you can send
an email out to your list every so often
maybe every 3 months or you know maybe
when you need a burst of clients and you
can in exactly the same way put a
voucher code email 20 to get $20 off
your next cleaning you can send a mass
email to your people to your previous
leads or you can send a a a mass text uh
message a mass SMS to all your leads
you'll find that the open rate and the
response rate of using SMS is much
higher than email you can Al use it in a
way where you know if you have specific
slots available in the calendar you
could say okay if you book service for
you know Wednesday Thursday Friday next
week will give you so much money off you
know it's a great way to fill a calendar
when you need you know you know a
particular cleaner's calendar to get
filled out as well so 0 five is the
email list don't underestimate that
you've got lots of great information
here and what's really important to say
is that every lead that comes in you you
need to be picking up the email address
and the phone number of the person
inquiring uh because if you're not doing
that you're leaving lots of money on the
table you will not be able to Recon uh
them in the future so with all those
five points in place if you use these
strategies you're going to be getting
more clients you know uh effectively
free or extremely low cost and as I said
we still use these strategies in our
business today in this next video what

quickest way to get 100 clients it's
going to be an in-depth video about
exactly what I would do if I went from
zero clients to 100 clients and I wanted
