Is DeliverThat Worth It? Full Review

looking for a new gig app that'll help
you make some extra money especially if
you're doing delivery driving or looking
for a way to start your day with a large
amount of income I may have the perfect
app for you with deliver that I've been
driving for several months with it
almost a year now here are some of the
things I really like about it some of
the things I don't like about it stick
around to the end until I tell you how
much I'm making on average with deliver
that
please
[Music]
hi I'm Tyler from the Rideshare guy on
today's episode we're going to be taking
a look at deliver that I've been using
deliver that now for about seven months
and I have found some great things with
it and some things that I don't like so
first let's talk about what exactly
delivered that is so deliver that is a
food delivery service unlike things like
ubereats doordash or GrubHub deliver
that is a catering service so you're
going to get large orders I've gotten
orders as small as sixty dollars which
I've gotten with an ubereats before as
well but I've also got orders as large
as 900 worth of food that was being
delivered and most of the time most of
the ones that I've received range
between two and four hundred dollars
that you're going to get that's how much
the food costs and we'll talk about how
much you make in a second but so we're
talking about much larger orders than
you would get with something such as
ubereats or doordash this is something
that's going to be going typically to a
business although sometimes you might go
to a house or something like that Now
using deliver that is a great way to
start your day that I found so unlike
the other apps where you turn on and you
can be on for hours and get requests
typically you're only going to get
requests uh if you start early early in
the morning and you're not going to be
delivering those for several hours or if
you turn on the day before you'll start
getting deliveries for tomorrow so
typically what I'll do if say I know I'm
going to be driving on a Wednesday I
will turn deliver that on on Tuesday
afternoon and just kind of have it
running in the background while I'm
doing other things in my life whether
it's working on videos like this or
articles for the Rideshare guy or just
playing games on my computer I can just
have the deliver that app right next to
me waiting for an order to come in and I
can accept it and then decide if I want
to keep it or not so that's how I've
used it once you get an order and you've
accepted it it'll pop up it'll show you
exactly where you're going to pick up
where you're going to drop off and it
will tell you how much money you're
going to make from the delivery fee
itself which is going to range from
Seven dollars to however many miles it's
been the most I've seen for the delivery
fee has been around 13 but it was a lot
of miles I don't remember exactly how
many it was but
obviously the more miles you drive the
more money you're going to get on that
delivery fee now when it comes to the
bigger side of this it's the tips that
you're going to get from deliver that
because the tips because it's a catering
order the food prices a lot more like I
said some of the orders have been up to
eight hundred dollars you're going to
get tipped accordingly at times so
you're gonna make more on tips now the
majority of the deliveries that I've
picked up for have been through the easy
catering so deliver that has a contract
through easy catering if someone orders
through easy catering they get that
delivery through deliver that so you'll
pick that up and what you'll see when
you get things like that is that the
under the tip amount it won't actually
give you an amount it'll tell you that
this will be a tip share through easy
catering and that it is a tip pool and
that you will find out how much it is in
a few days uh based on when the next
payday is and that it ranges in my area
it tells me it ranges from 21 to twenty
seven dollars for the tip I have
typically found that it's usually around
23 to 25 I've gotten one as much as 28
dollars in the past but typically around
23 to 25 dollars I always think of it as
if I'm going to only get the 21 I've
never got less than twenty one dollars
before on an easy catering order but
that's how I always think of it to judge
if it's going to be worth it or not now
signing up for deliver that is really
easy to do you just go to their website
we'll have a link in the description
below for you to be able to do that but
you go in you sign up you do have to
have a background check which is going
to cost you about 25 you have to pay to
get that it was a little standoffish for
me when I first started especially since
all of the other apps like ubereats and
doordash they cover that expense but you
do have to pay it for it for deliver
that but honestly your very first
catering order that you get is going to
cover that expense and then you're gonna
be able to make money from then so it's
a great way even though you do have to
spend some money but it is a very simple
process to do now if you don't have
catering bags that you want to get they
also do sell them you can get them at a
pretty inexpensive price as well in fact
they have a package deal to do the
background check and to get some bags
that will that they'll send you for a
pretty reasonable price I believe when I
did it was under fifty dollars like I
said this was almost a year ago when I
started and it was pretty reasonable but
most insulated bags if you've been
driving and doing deliveries for a while
are going to be good enough that you're
going to be able to get started
especially if you have like a large
pizza bag like I have but you're going
to want to do whatever you can send
those pictures in to get them approved
and do so as quickly as possible so here
are the main things that I really really
like about deliver that so number one is
that this is a great way to get a large
amount of money usually at the beginning
of your shift a lot of these orders come
in and the delivery is going to be
between 10 and 11. which means I can
start delivering for my lunch shift
doing delivery for food and the very
first thing that I do is this catering
order so I love doing that because
typically I get 30 to 40 dollars for one
of these with the delivery fee plus the
tip and it usually takes between 30
minutes and an hour to do so if you get
thirty dollars in 30 minutes then that's
60 an hour then you can also start
driving for ubereats doordash GrubHub
and all that as well sometimes you can
also get a double deliver that order so
you'll pick up one drop off one and get
the next one and then you've got two
orders that took you between an hour and
two hours and you've already are at 60
to 80 dollars for the day and you've
only worked two hours so really great
way to start the day and I really like
that it is a great start to make sure
that you're gonna make as much money as
you need to for the day so definitely a
great thing for deliver that and another
awesome thing that I like about deliver
that is the fact that if the restaurant
takes a long time to get that food ready
that they're going to give you an
additional five dollars for it so if you
get there and you sit and you wait you
don't have to like with Uber send them a
message you don't have to cancel the
order to get a four dollar fee for your
time you're going to get an additional
five dollars simply for waiting I've got
it for waiting as little as 15 minutes
and I didn't even request it I didn't
think about it because the order was
going to be big enough that waiting 15
minutes didn't really bother me for this
but they gave me an extra five dollars
anyway so they automatically do that you
start driving away if it's far enough
away you'll actually just receive a text
message that tells you hey we're giving
you an extra five dollars because you
had to wait so long so I really like
that about deliver that you don't have
to fight for extra money for wasting
your time with other apps like ubereats
or things like that don't really do
another thing that I really like about
deliver that is that you can get in
contact with a real live person very
quickly you can do that through phone
call or even a text message and they
respond really really quick uh recently
I was picking up my own order and while
I was there there was an issue with the
a different deliver that driver as well
as a doordash driver for whatever reason
and I don't know they were both sent to
pick up the same exact order the deliver
that driver picked his phone up called
dispatch and had a person on the phone
within seconds they asked the doordash
driver to do the same and he literally
said I'm just going to cancel the order
because it'll take me too long to get in
touch with someone so that deliver that
driver was able to get that order and
take off with it and make the money
whereas the doordash driver just said
I'm Gonna Cancel because I can't get in
touch with anyone so the ability to get
someone on the phone within a matter of
seconds is awesome uh no other app that
I found has been able to compete with
that so it's really really great to do
that and they even respond to text
messages and they'll do it really really
quick so definitely a pro on my side
that I think would deliver that some
things I really really don't like about
deliver that are how you get the orders
in the first place I don't like that I
have to sign in the day before it
doesn't really bother me if I'm not
doing anything but it does take up my
phone so I have to or it's easier and
better if I stay with the actual app on
my phone and not switch back and forth
so you can't scroll through Instagram or
things like that the requests will come
in you'll still see them at times but by
the time you get over to the app another
driver is going to accept it so they
actually send their orders out to all
the drivers that are on at the same time
so whoever clicks that accept button
first gets the order so I really don't
like that feature of it I wish it went
to individual drivers that were maybe
the closest but at the same time if it's
for the next day
I don't really know how they would fix
that other than to say hey you're next
in line maybe but I'm not sure how they
would fix that to make it better but
having to click the accept Button as
quickly as possible is really annoying
and knowing that you just missed out on
an order that would be perfect because
your thumb was a little slower or
whatever he's really aggravating and
then because you're trying to get an
order and you're just clicking except a
lot of times they're too far away and so
you then have to offer them back to the
other drivers because it's too far away
and you're not going to go there I've
gotten delivered that requests that I've
accepted because I was just trying to
get one that's really really quick and
it came up and it was literally an hour
and a half away for the pickup and drop
off and you don't get paid extra for
that you only get paid from the pickup
to the drop off so really wouldn't have
made Financial sense for me to drive an
hour and a half over there unless I was
going to then stay the day over there or
do something else but that's just
something that I really don't like that
I can't just except I wish there was a
better way for that to happen and
another thing that I don't like about
deliver that is these bags that you get
now I know that I mentioned that the
bags and getting them was part of the
good thing about and the easiest part of
signing up but if you take a look at
these bags they're not that great
foreign
it's really really thin the zipper has
already broke off of it
this one is really really thin it
doesn't really have any thermal or
anything to to keep the bag going and
they rip really really easy and kind of
fall apart the bags work but they don't
work great
and so they're not that great to have
but
they work for what you need another
thing I don't like about it is a lot of
times you don't have a person that
you're dropping off to and their contact
information so most of the deliver
that's that I have got have been
dropping off to doctors offices so it's
usually lunch and going to a doctor's
office or something like that and you
might have the information for that
office the address but you don't know
what specific person you're dropping it
off to and if there's an issue you don't
usually have a phone number other than
deliver that now fortunately like I said
their customer service is great you can
get someone on the phone from deliver
that and they can usually get in contact
with the customer very quickly but I
wish there was a way for me to just
directly get in touch with the customer
when there's an issue like for instance
I've had some situations where I
delivered to a hotel hotel has a lot of
rooms in it so we had I had no idea
where it was going to be delivered I
asked the front desk they had no idea
and it took me a while to actually find
someone that was able to say hey it's in
that room and go there and deliver it so
that was a huge issue for me and so I
wish there was a better way to contact
the actual customer when it came time to
do the delivery so there you have it
that's my review of deliver that it's
definitely something I'm going to
continue to drive with if I could get
all day deliver that's I would
absolutely do it unfortunately there is
not enough that come in I've only seen a
few that are in the afternoon so usually
they are all between the hours of 10 and
noon sometimes you'll get some that are
earlier and I mean really early like
seven in the morning and very very few
times you'll get some that are four or
five in the afternoon but typically
you'll just get one or two in that early
afternoon hours but it is again a great
way to start the day in before you start
getting into the other apps and to make
as much money as possible so definitely
something I'm going to continue to use
uh what about you have you used deliver
that have you thought about usually
deliver that what are some of the other
questions that you may have or what have
it's been your experience in your area
so I can only speak about my area and
what has worked here and this is
definitely something that's worked here
it's added quite a bit of money to how
much I make each week because it starts
my day off with 30 to 60 dollars on at
the beginning of a day and then I can
drive the rest of the day doing
everything else as well so definitely
something that gets you started on the
right foot makes more money in my area
