all right so now we're gonna do
what's going on youtube derf here again
with another video
today we are gonna i'm gonna show you um
and do a review of this skill saw the
models 3601-2
that is a combination of a miter saw and
a table saw
and an ex this is extremely portable
um you can make cross cuts miter cuts
and
rip cuts with this and it's very
beneficial and helpful
uh when when putting down hardwood
so i'm going to be using this to put
down a solid bamboo hardwood flooring
where i'm going to be doing some miter
cuts and rip cuts and cross cuts
and i'm going to go ahead and show you
also a setup that i have
where you can do this indoors so right
now
it's supposed to rain all day where i'm
at and so i can't be outside and use my
miter saw
uh and do those cuts so let's go right
into it all right
so here we are so i've got the the scale
saw
set on my cutter table uh
this is a very sturdy table stand
um that i've that also got on amazon
and the brand is cutter i'll have the
link down below where you can also buy
this
but i've used this for quite a while now
so i'm just going to be using it for for
the skill saw as well
it comes with the two clamps as part of
the
the table but so the way i have it set
up is it's just
um horizontal to to the table
right here is your your saw that that
moves for your
for your cross cuts and and miter cuts
uh and then this right here moves along
this way
when you want to do um
long cuts or rip cuts so
what you have here is a really a two in
one
saw that replaces both a miter saw and a
table saw so instead of having two
separate saws
this this one right here will do the job
um
the blade is is about a four and three
eighths size
blade as you can see in there it's not
as big
as like a 10 inch or a 12 inch table or
a miter
miter saw but i'm going to go ahead and
try this out and see how this works
the other thing to help that is helpful
for your
indoor setup is going to be
you see where this port is where i have
the
the vacuum hose plugged in
uh so what i have here is is
you know you just plug in the end of the
vacuum hose
uh what i have here is just a mini shock
back
uh a six gallon uh shop vac that i got
uh from from the store as well uh where
you know all the dust is gonna get
sucked into uh
into the bin there that would make it
make your indoor setup complete
that way you don't have dust all over
the place and i'm going to show you what
exactly that does
in a minute so let's go right ahead and
make a cut here
all right so here is a a solid
uh bamboo um strand uh
bamboo wood that i'm putting down in in
my house here
we're just gonna do a test cut here uh
just to show you what what that looks
like so
what i'm gonna do is i'm gonna do one
more face up and
also face down that way we can see
how well the blade cuts um and and
how much chipping it does or doesn't do
so
first we're just going to do a face up
cut i'm just going to do
the this guide here to hold down the
wood so it doesn't
um jump all right so first thing
is you want to have your vacuum running
uh just have your blower
facing outside and turn that on
so the vacuum definitely helped
i see a little bit of dust here
but nothing that is you know gonna
fly all over your your you know inside
your house
now let's see what the cut looks like as
far as a cross cut
you can see there's a little bit of
chipping
on on the on the hardwood
face up side of it now let's let's try
this again and we'll do face down and
see
what kind of a cut it does for us
oh wow that is a lot cleaner as you can
see
uh no heart i don't see any chips at all
so this is this is a a clean cut right
here
so the way i see it is
is much better if you do your cuts face
down
do your your your lines here when
as far as the measurements to cut
the length do it face down as it clearly
is a cleaner cut uh so
standby let's go ahead and do a a rip
cut
going this way so we can see how this
cuts all right
so now i'm going to show you how to do a
rip cut
or a long cut as i call it so the
the fence you're going to need to move
this what you do is you just unscrew
this
knob here pull it out
and this goes in here you see the little
um thing here where you can screw in
the the knob so this goes right in here
um it aligns into the the groove
so what you do is you just go in and
find that
um hole to screw in the bolt
and here are your measuring guides right
here
so you have the red arrow
i'm just going to set this to a random
measurement and i'm going to tighten
this up
all right so
next thing that you want to do is this
thing can't move so that's why they have
this little
hole here to lock it in place uh so
so what you do is you just put the thing
here and
you pull up the knob and until it sets
locked
as you can see all right so now we're
going to make a rip cut
sample here so what you want to do is
you want to be on that side
because the the saw is going to go this
way so i'm going to move over
all right so i'm going to close that
so i think i didn't go all the way here
that's why it got
chipped but as you can see the
cut is pretty clean again um except for
that last part but that was because i i
probably pulled it um so
definitely when you want to cut you want
to do it
from the from upside down as it's a lot
cleaner cut as you can see all the ways
i don't see any chips at all
so so that's that
that's my review of this skill saw that
will let you do your
uh cutting inside the house so if it's
raining outside that way you don't get
uh delayed with your project but
i mean i'm so far from what i've done
here
i i really like this uh uh it's it's
it's a two in one i won't need two
separate big saws
and and this is only about 159
on amazon so that beats buying two
separate
uh sauce as in the table saw in the
miter saw
and so with that i hope you like this
video
please don't forget to give it a thumbs
up uh throw in some comments in there or
questions
and uh please don't forget to subscribe
to my channel
thank you
you
