Outlines
📚 Emotional Impact of Parental Neglect
This paragraph delves into the psychological effects of complex Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD) as discussed by Pete Walker in his book. It focuses on the emotional abandonment that leads to feelings of loneliness and depression. The discussion includes the role of the inner critic, which emerges from unresolved emotions such as fear and shame. It also explores the survival mechanisms that individuals develop in response to emotional neglect, such as the 'fight, flight, freeze, or fawn' behaviors. The paragraph highlights the importance of understanding these mechanisms to address the root causes of depression and the need for self-compassion to heal from the internalized feelings of abandonment.
🔄 Cycle of Emotional Neglect and Depression
The second paragraph continues the exploration of emotional abandonment, emphasizing the cyclical nature of the problems stemming from parental neglect. It discusses how the internalization of feelings of abandonment can lead to a continuous cycle of fear, shame, and an inner critic, which in turn triggers survival mechanisms. These mechanisms, while initially a means of coping, can exacerbate the feelings of depression and lead to a downward spiral. The solution proposed involves recognizing and understanding these internal mechanisms, reconnecting with one's inner child, and working towards self-compassion and a sense of safety. The paragraph concludes by emphasizing the importance of therapy in addressing these issues, suggesting that by working with a therapist, one can re-establish a connection with their inner child and develop a sense of belonging and self-worth.

criticus daarbij speelt En vooral hoe we
natuurlijk gericht op Ik voel me
innerlijke criticus activeren we in
vluchten vechten verstijven of vleien
fleen we gaan anderen pleasen zodat zij
activeert weer schaamte schaamte
versterkt weer dat gevoel van
en zo kun je dus meer en meer in die
neerwaartse spiraal komen in zo'n
stapje opzij doen en we kijken even
verder verwijderd bent geraakt
terug in allerlei
