hey good morning today I want to talk
about this uh kind of notion that I've
been living my life under for the past
couple of years and it's this idea that
the universe is constantly testing you
constantly challenging you in order to
help you
grow so basically what I believe is that
every single moment every single waking
moment in your
life is pretty much a test it's an
opportunity for growth the universe is
constantly throwing things at you to see
how much you can handle and how well you
can handle it and how you will handle a
situation and that will lead you to
learn something in one way or
another no matter if it's good or bad
it's always an opportunity for growth
and I think that this becomes the most
kind of apparent example of this to me
is um when I'm talk talking with my
girlfriend we um you know we can get
into an
argument and you know no matter if I'm
right or wrong or she's right or wrong
the only thing that kind of matters is
how I react in terms of how I handle my
temper so I've I've just noticed that
the universe is relentlessly testing my
temper because I have a very short
temper so I just you know it's it's very
easy for me to lose control of it and
get upset very easily and and just kind
of um act
upset and be a little bit irritated and
everything especially around especially
with my girlfri and I'm with her all the
time and like very close there's a lot
of emotions there
but anyway like I've I've just noticed
that you know if she does something or
says something that upsets me like no
matter if I actually have a right to be
upset or not if I if I act like you know
if I disrespect her or I raise my voice
or I kind of
like you know just act a little bit
distant or whatever based on how I feel
then that will only make the situation
worse and it will only make me have to
like you know kind of fix it later
on
um so I guess this kind of goes back to
like
stoicism I haven't really looked into it
but I know that like
you've heard like it's good to be stoic
in situations
where you know you're facing kind of
like some emotional tribulation or
something it's best to just accept it
and just kind of like be on affected by
right which is something that I have a
lot of trouble practicing in my
life um especially especially with with
my girlfriend you know it's
like I don't know you I like to be the
dominant one in the relationship right
so it's just kind of
like you know when you don't kind of get
what you want or whatever kind of get
upset but yeah the universe will always
try to Humble you and try to remind you
that like you
know just have to
um handle every
situation with care and precaution and
respect everybody at all times
times or else you
know no matter if you're right or wrong
the situation will only
escalate so I encourage you to be
grateful for all these kind of things
that happen in your life you know like
you might get really upset that like for
another example of like testing my
tempers like I would have like a long
day at school right you know I would go
to class and then I'd have to like maybe
go to band practice and I'd have to go
to the gym and I would be cooking meals
like throughout the day and you know y y
so my my day is like super busy and then
I get home at like 10: finally about to
cook my dinner or something or just like
unwind a little bit before bed and then
I realized I have a homework to do and
that happened a lot this past um school
year and you know you could say like oh
well that's that's in your control it's
not really the universe because it's
just like you forgot to do the homework
or whatever but sure but
you know it's still
like kind of I I still see it as the
universe doing that because
like um you know even though I might
have forgotten to do the
homework I uh you know the situation is
that you know I really want to go to bed
or cook dinner or something but now I
have to do this extra responsibility
this extra task that I wasn't aware of
and that to me is just kind of like the
universe is testing me to see like if
I'll break or not and just kind of like
using that to kind of help me learn that
okay I need to manage my time
better you know so I kind of when I
Journal I like to write down this phrase
um I'm grateful for the opportunity to
be challenged because the only way to
grow is through overcoming difficulties
and challenges right so I think that you
know if you you you you have two options
to handle any given situation your
life you know you can choose to be kind
of
like you know lose kind of act based on
emotion and just kind of complain about
it and you know wish for wish that
things were different and get upset with
yourself or other people around you and
you know just be upset with the way that
things are now things aren't in in your
control they're not how you wanted them
to be so you can choose to act that way
or you or you can do the second option
is just just accept whatever happens
just no matter good or
bad I think this is a stoic concept is
radical acceptance just accepting
everything that happens you know whether
it's good or bad just realizing okay
this is what's happening right now and
now I have to adapt to the
situation and grow and learn from it in
one way or another this is happening for
one reason or another
and it's just meant to show me you know
teach me a lesson about myself about the
world people around me how to handle
something whatever but and I think that
when you start to look at life that way
you know not only do things become
easier but things become exciting
because then it kind of feels like a
game you know it's like you you start to
realize everything that's happening to
you it's just some silly little thing
you know that you can just kind of SWAT
away like a fly like as long as you like
you just kind of laugh at it and you
just kind
of take it lightly and
do what you have to do you know it's
kind of exciting to just kind of like
have all these things thrown at you the
universe is testing you seeing how much
you can handle and you're just taking it
all you're just taking it all completely
unaffected just standing here in the
wind in the rain just
completely unaffected and strong and
able to handle anything
and I find that a lot more exciting and
fulfilling than not having any hardship
in my life whatsoever you know so be
grateful for the hardship be grateful
for the challenges the tests that you
have to overcome you know and look
forward to them handle them with
excitement
and and you will find that uh that that
will make life worth living you
know and you find that you will be a
better person and happier and people
around you will be happier as well so
