Transcripts
hello I'm David Lee Enfield here for
today's time of prayer and it's inspired
by the book of Matthew in chapter 13
notice with me in verse 44 where it says
again the kingdom of heaven is like
treasure hidden in a field which a man
found and hid and for joy over it he
goes and sells all that he has and buys
that field and when Jesus spoke this
parable to us he was talking about the
greatness of the kingdom of God what it
really is and how it is an eternal
kingdom that will never end in this
kingdom it is promised in the book of
Revelation that there will be no more
sorrow no more crying no more pain no
more death all the former things of this
world the warfare the oppression the
things that have been caused by sin and
wrongdoing a mankind will all be washed
away and this kingdom will be a kingdom
of peace now this kingdom is what you
and I have been called to in fact Jesus
in Matthew 6 said seek you first the
kingdom of God and all his righteousness
and all things will be added unto you
now when you think about this parable
that Jesus spoke that when we find it
how we have joy in it we have hope in it
we long for it and desire it he's saying
that that man is willing to sell all
that he has in order to acquire it to
obtain it because it is the best thing
that you and I can have so the question
we have for ourselves today then is am i
all-in for the kingdom of God am I still
trying to be a part of this world in
trying to be a part for the kingdom yet
do I want to have Jesus but also have
worldliness ungodliness is my life a
blending mix between the ways of God in
the ways of the world or am i all-in for
Jesus Christ you see it doesn't mean
that you leave the world it doesn't mean
that you forsake all the things that
you're doing in this world but rather
all-in for Jesus and in everything we do
we are completely invested in Jesus
Christ and bringing him to our jobs with
us bringing them into the neighborhood
with us to church to our grocery stores
to our community
wherever we go we are all in for Christ
that there's never a time where we say
Jesus you stay outside I'm going into
this bar right now Jesus used to outside
because I want to go do something you
wouldn't be comfortable with when we
find the kingdom of God we realize that
all the things that we do not like about
this world the oppression the murder the
warfare all comes from people pursuing
their own pleasures without
consideration of others we should
remember that Jesus gave up his comfort
and pleasure in heaven to come down to
earth below to be found as a man and not
only that but to humble himself before
men and to humble himself even to the
death death on the cross for you and me
Jesus was willing to forsake everything
for you and me to have life and what he
desires is that we also have a
wholehearted nature toward him in his
kingdom knowing that he did this for us
for our life and for the kingdom to come
and we do this for him and for the lives
of others and for his kingdom to come he
wants us to be all in this is easier
said than done and that's why we need
this time of Prayer to ask God today for
the help to remember how precious his
kingdom is how much this world needs it
how we don't want to carve out comfort
here and not realize all of this world
in its ways and its thinking have to go
away and the ways of Jesus need to come
in so that no one is left out that no
one will be hurt anymore on this earth
we need Jesus kingdom to come
let's pray for his kingdom to come and
let's pray for a heart that we will be
all in to proclaim that kingdom to
announce that kingdom and to live by the
laws and the governance of our King from
that Kingdom forever
let's pray
you
