Transcripts
so in today's video we're taking a look
again at the Samsung s95 C and we're
going to ask the question should you be
buying this TV in 2024 or are there
better options out there or should you
wait for the newer models don't forget
to hit the red button to subscribe and
give this video a thumbs up and click
the notification Bell to get my next
video
first so I've had the s95 C now for
around 8 months and I have to say it's
been a TV that I've been really
impressive with this is the model that
comes with the one connect box and I
think that is definitely a better option
than previous models I love having the
flexibility of either having this on the
back of the TV or underneath the TV
we're using either of the two one
connect cables there is the shorter one
which you can see here and there's also
a longer one so one of the things that
really impressed right out of the box
was the HDR Peak brightness I was
getting a reading of over
1,300 and although that hasn't really
changed too much in the time that I've
had it I still notice that brightness
every single day when I compare it to my
LGC 2 not so much when I'm comparing it
against the LG G3 but that is obviously
expected now 2024 is going to be a
really big year for TVs not only because
of the newer models coming out but
there's events going on this year
there's the Olympics there's the
European championships and a whole host
of other major sporting events so many
people will now be considering should
they buy a new TV
well at this time of the year these TVs
from last year are at their best price
and so therefore you've really got to
start asking yourself do I take
advantage of the good deals now or do I
wait and pay more for the newer models
and in previous years when we've done
this video we thought to ourselves well
it's probably worth taking the punt now
and getting last year's top TVs the s95
C comes with the tysen software and I do
have to say I'm not the greatest fan
this year it did seem to be loaded and
loaded with more and more adverts and
just more things that you never do you
scroll down so much however the things
that really impressed me were the
settings the different picture modes the
picture quality out of the box and also
the way that you could just change the
settings on this TV to get the best
possible picture there were a few gripes
and I'll leave a link to my full review
where I'll go over those but all being
said this is an incredible TV so will
the new models this year be as good and
another consideration for you is last
year's
s90c was arguably the better value TV
because it delivered so much of what
this TV delivers at a much more
affordable price now this TV was really
pitched at people that want to do
everything but for gaming it did take it
to another level there were reports of
this TV having blackouts via the one
connect box via gaming now I never
experienced any of those with my model
and I guess I've just been lucky so if
you have had issues with it then that I
think is just unfortunate but what I did
get was just the most incredible picture
quality that every time I looked at this
TV I'm just in awe of the quality of the
image now that hasn't changed so eight
or nine months on that is still exactly
the same and so therefore I really do
think that you're not going to get that
much more improvements out of the newer
models this year plus you're going to be
spending an awful lot more now now that
Cas has finished we now know what the
new models are going to be producing we
don't have any side-by-side comparisons
just yet but we can get a lot of the
information from what people have seen
so from what I've read there's two main
things that I'm really interested in
checking out when the new model gets
delivered one of those being the AI
picture settings so that you can set it
to a custom picture and there's also AI
motion enhancer which could be brilliant
there's also a new anti-reflective glare
in fact it's now a matte TV which gives
you less Reflections however the
reflection handling on the s95 C is not
that bad for an OLED TV and considering
it's glossy I've chosen this scene
because this is as dark as it gets and
you can see the window behind but it's
not that off-putting but believe me in
most settings with most bright images
you just do not notice it at all and
it's definitely a far better picture
than on the LG C2 so although no pricing
has been released as yet for the newer
models it's likely to be that the newer
models are around double what the
current models are so therefore you'll
be able to pick up this which is the
55in version for around 13 to ,400 at
the moment and the new ones are likely
to be around
£2700 2700 $100 so that gives you an
indication of where the prices will be
now there's no guarantee on that and I'm
sure very quickly those prices will
start to come down but if you want to be
an earlier adopter of the new model well
then you're going to have to pay through
the wallet and I'm just not sure whether
it's going to be worth it because these
TVs are just so good in fact now if I
was in the market for a new TV I would
be looking to see what the price
difference is between the s90c and the
S9 5C and if it's considerable then
definitely go for the s90c I really
don't think you'll be disappointed cuz
you're getting pretty much most of what
the s95 C has if those prices are pretty
close well then Edge towards the s95 C
because ultimately it is the better TV
now I do know that there is going to be
a new update to the Titan software on
the newer models and that might be
something that sways some people however
I don't think it's going to change that
much in what you can do the game game
settings on the s95 C are absolutely
fantastic and as I've already mentioned
you can change the picture settings to
your heart's content and it really is
very easy game mode I found to be the
best that I've seen pretty much on any
TV with everything that you can change
and the quality of the picture that gets
delivered it is just an absolute joy to
play games on and I'm not sure whether
we're going to see the those big
differences in this year's models one
thing that will be interesting is that
anti-reflective glare because if you are
in a bright room then you may well have
been avoiding an OLED altogether because
it just is a little bit too reflective
don't get me wrong the LG G3 this year
and this the s95 C have definitely made
a big Improvement but it's not perfect
and from looking at the imagery that's
coming out of CES it does look like
they've made a giant leap forward but
then you are getting a matte screen and
that is something which is dividing
opinion now one of the consideration to
throw into the mix is to not consider
buying the s95 D but consider the
s90d now that is having a boost in
brightness as well of around 20 to 30%
and it's going to be available at a far
cheaper price and so therefore you may
find that that again is the model to go
for just as this year the s90c seem to
end up being the best value OLED out
there we may find that it's the same
however I think Samsung are wanting to
do something different they wanting the
flagship model to be the leading one
that everyone buys and so until we see
them side by side we won't really know
but if you are considering the s95 c or
the s90c then what you're going to get
is an incredible picture quality with
amazing viewing angles colors that just
look absolutely fantastic the brightness
is so much more noticeable than on
previous years
that it doesn't seem that it can be
improved that much and certainly it's
not only about what brightness level a
TV gets to remember it's about how it
handles brightness and in the past
Samsung have not been great at that so
I'm going to leave you guys probably
more confused than when you started but
I would say that if you're in the market
for a TV early in 2024 then really think
about taking advantage of the lower
prices and consider last year's models
or wait until maybe 6 months down the
line of the newer models because then
there'll be at a cheaper price but I
wouldn't advise that many people rushing
out and buying the brand new models as
soon as they're released you may end up
with buyer remorse that's it for this
video guys let me know what you think in
the comments and I look forward to
seeing you on the next
