give away that sweet u-turn turntable
from a few weeks ago if you don't know
anything about that giveaway it's just
proof to me that you don't really care
about me and you don't watch enough of
my show I'm not offended or hurt but I
just expect you to watch everything from
now on and without further ado my lovely
assistants gonna hand me an envelope and
within that envelope is the name of the
winner of the u-turn turntable you guys
ready okay the winner of the u-turn
turntable is ASA Martin ASA Martin you
have won a fantastic dare I say fabulous
turntable from u-turn and I'm really
excited for you and now we're gonna do
an awkward cut to me at some other point
in my life where this episode was pre
filmed and I have a different shirt and
stuff probably shorter hair bye bye you
could change the ink cartridge in your
printer you could change the oil in your
car you could even buy 10 caramel frappe
a macchiato at Starbucks or you could
buy one of these ten pedals under $50
that I personally love the choice is
yours I think you're gonna do the right
thing
[Music]
the first petal under $50 I want to show
you today is the BB e 427 Distortion
this thing's awesome because it's based
around the classic proko wrapped and
it's blue and did I mention it's awesome
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
the Danelectro tuna-melt
tremolo for $25 you've got $25 and you
probably need a tremolo and if you don't
need a tremolo you need another $25
tremolo just to have around but things
really great I used to recast these into
a metal enclosure but to be honest the
last quite a while would just to switch
there and I like it the circuits really
really fantastic and it's $25 I don't I
don't know if I mentioned that
[Music]
[Laughter]
[Music]
next up is the deadbeat analog delay now
it's not actually analog it is digital
because it uses the famous and infamous
PT $23.99 chipset so it's a digital
chipset you filter it out it has a
really warm repeat and to be really
really honest which I try to do on the
show this sounds fantastic one of the
problems you run into would that chipset
is that it gets really noisy but they've
kept this extremely quiet it has a good
long available delay time it does
fantastic slap it's just a great pedal
[Music]
Hey
[Music]
me
[Music]
[Music]
next up is the DoD stereo flanger
effects 75 - B there's a lot of
different versions of these pedals this
DoD era is really fantastic and for
forty five bucks
I think it's amazing I'm gonna use it
very subtle you guys know I love to use
Flanders almost like a chorus but
there's a setting on here where I can
still hear the flange it's almost like a
slap delay holding the whole thing
together it's really really cool on
clean guitar and I like the OD I'm gonna
talk more about that in the future but
for now just listen to this
[Music]
next up is the planeswalker fuzz by dr.
J which is actually made by Jojo so
there's a bit of an inception thing
going on there which makes it even more
fun
$30 people $30 and look at this color
look at this it's so good the circuit is
really really great you have a color
control which is kind of like a mids
control input acts as the gain I have
those maxed out and you can go between
silicon and germanium I have it in
germanium setting this is a really great
distortion it will do really nice buzz
sounds go to the neck pickup you know it
cleans up all that stuff but I'm gonna
use a little bit different and I'm a big
fan of this line I have the whole line
and I'm planning on doing an entire
episode just walking through these
because they're really affordable really
cool and I love the size of the
enclosure
[Music]

[Music]
sometimes you just want to take your
guitar and the tone coming from it and
squish it to death like beyond the point
of annihilation yet keeping it clean and
that's what a compressor does so for $29
you can have the compressor Edie won
Edward by Marshall this line the pedals
is really fun and this guy's really
really cheap made well metal casing
metal knobs there's probably some metal
inside I didn't look but metal means
it's good I'm not gonna play metal with
it I'm gonna play some weird hybrid of
jazz funk rock country jazz and I'm just
gonna show you how squishy this gets
some of you need a compressor and this
is a good place to try one because you
might try it and hate it but you can
always say I tried a compressor for $29
I'm gonna try right now
[Music]
for $40 you can buy and purchase and own
simultaneously the neo clone by
electro-harmonix this is in the lineage
of the small clone chorus it's really
really classic and this is a really good
course for people who are new to it or
just wanting to see if they can add that
to their rig and enjoy it because it has
one knob and a switch and there's really
no bad sounds I'm gonna use it in a slow
setting it's really really nice I enjoy
it and my hope for you is that you would
enjoy this the way that I'm about to
enjoy it and have enjoyed it before so
let's just all enjoy
[Music]

if you're looking for a new overdrive
that will handle light gain all the
weight to heavier gain drive sounds look
no further the MX RG Tod is a fantastic
choice it's green and it has three knobs
so you're thinking oh it's a tube
screamer but actually it's not a tube
screamer kind of amazing huh I think so
well it's a few parts to remove from
their signature zakk wylde overdrive and
it's really really great in the middle
gain settings so that's what I'm gonna
play it I'm gonna show it off to you
there and I think this might be the
pedal that's something you guys need
because there's a few of you out there
you have six or seven drives on your
board and you're thinking I could go up
to eight nine or ten drive pedals so
give this a chance it'll it'll save your
wallet because you need more Drive
pedals
[Music]
for $35 you can have a new reverb or
your first reverb I don't know who you
are personally but I know that everyone
needs a reverb at some point in their
guitar playing walk and that's what I'm
here to help you with
it's the TC electronic skysurfer either
it has plate hall and spring I'm gonna
use it in kind of a washed out spring
sounding verb and let's just look at
this color together it's a baby blue
there's no more pleasant color on a
pedal enclosure than baby blue it's so
calming just look at oh you can't see it
here
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
gain boost normal switch donger
metalhead I think it's gray nano series
oh hey sorry I was trying to read the
print on this really small petal anyway
at 3495 this is such a small price to
pay for such a small petal to play that
was really good you have to admit it
anyway I'm gonna crank this up with my
jazz master and I'm gonna play some
metal riffs because when you have a jazz
master and a pedal that's based on the
sound of metal you do jazz metal that's
what I'm about to do it's just a great
pedal look at this look how small just
stare at it see the pedal see it
look closely

today's record time is brought to you by
1999's Travis the man who I just want to
start out by saying that I have wanted
this record since before time began and
I have never been able to find it I have
scoured all the earth seriously almost
all the earth record stores all over the
world and no one ever had an original
copy and then Travis decided this year
to repress it and re release it and it's
in my hands guys I'm holding this and I
just want you to know it's one of my
favorite records probably topped in No
definitely top 2 in a favorite record
for me it's a masterpiece let's talk
about the songs writing to reach you the
guitar parts are so good then the drums
through this record have this amazing
kind of backbeat Brit rock thing and I
think they were one of the first to do
it you see bands like Coldplay Radiohead
even references this style and kind of
tips their hat to Travis as being a big
influence why does it always rain on me
everyone's probably heard that if you
haven't you just need to check it out
you need to listen to this and I love
the fact that four years after
Wonderwall is released he references the
song twice on the record and he kind of
like in a very snarky British way hates
on it and loves on it at the same
time kind of jokingly writing lyrics
around
what's a Wonderwall anyway stuff like
that but in the comments below I need
you to listen to this I need you to talk
about it let's just like gather around
and just discuss the greatness of one of
my favorite records and also tell me
about your favorite Brit rock record
because it's probably this one so just
put this one in there after you hear it
it'll definitely be your favorite that's
all I'm gonna go listen to this again
thanks so much for watching this episode
I hope you enjoyed it I think that these
pedals are amazing I've used a few and
my personal rigs over the years and
these are evidence that you don't need
to break the bank to get some awesome
guitar stink going down I'm a rhyming
wizard today and I hope you've enjoyed
that in the comments below I'd like for
you to tell me which one of these is
your favorite and then tell me about
other pedals under $50 that I might want
to check out I might not own them and I
might need to buy more pedals because I
don't have enough pedals so help me with
that in the comments please hit like if
you liked this episode subscribe to the
channel please please please and hit the
bell icon to get notifications of every
future episode and we'll meet every
Thursday and I'll hang out with you and
you hang out with me and we'll just keep

least 150 years so you need to get those
notifications cuz I need to be with you
