Transcripts
okay welcome to DMW class 6 today I want
to talk about building your personal
brand and I want to give you three
important things by the end okay number
one I want you to be able to come out of
this lecture with a banger bio for
socials two and know what to post and
stay consistent and three begin to craft
your
voice so why bios matter imagine this
okay okay you're going to a party and
you're meeting new people and this is
what you're hid with people always ask
right oh what do you do uh what are you
into and then this is your
response delusion is the solution
imagine you go to a party and what do
you do Braden delusion is solution also
I'm building um chesky dool you know
like or hey what do you do Road hey Ro
who films
right Niti hey what's up what are you up
to I'm walking along the pathless
path or uh or you go to ma right what
are you into ma what do you do B with be
girl out now is it a podcast no just go
check it out I don't know if I want to
click so this is kind of the situation I
kind of discovered
right um and you really want to imagine
yourself in someone else's shoe because
all of you Sol's profile we're all kind
of laughing and all this roast is like
in like good nature is that we all
recognize oh man if you put it in those
terms something needs to change right
and you're on a social platform which
means that you're going to meet PE new
PE new people are going to meet you at
least once a day sometimes new people
are going to be meeting you every single
hour or by the minute and if something
blows up they're going to meet you by
the
seconds so you really want to help them
to understand you so I'm going to give
you some accounts I personally like and
they keep it dead simple so uh Sebastian
he's a graphic designer look at his
stuff nothing like nothing complicated
here nothing too mysterious graphic
designer open for commissions and then
if you go to his IG page you would just
see sick images and it's so easy to know
how to talk to Sebastian right um
anybody knows Shan wasabi
yeah so like music producer right super
simple he just says music producer and
then now you know okay if you go to his
Spotify what is it going to be it's
going to be music right um how many uh
listen to this podcast this podcast is
Banger like this podcast let's look at
the bio right learn from History's
Greatest entrepreneurs every week I read
a biography of entrepreneur and tell you
what I learned 340 biographies down a
thousand to go so all of you are
starting your own thing David SRA
literally does a podcast on every single
entrepreneur you could ever think of
right so super
clear uh how many of you follow or know
dingo's
Twitter you you you should definitely
study this this Twitter account but
let's just start simple free language
education for the world available on
Android iOS and the web super clear
right so after looking at many of your
bios uh I just want to tell you this
this is not the place to be
creative Braden please delete delusion
is the solution um there were several
others you know walking along the
pathless path just let's switch it
up keep it really clear like all of
these
examples and keep it really short and I
can anticipate what many of you are
going to think uh it's just like you're
more complex than that right why did you
put delusion is a solution um I was in
like a did that thing in September um
and I put for my thought that I'm
delusional and laughing I see I see what
about you
y um yeah I don't know I just felt like
I had no like oh I just felt like I had
no Direction so I was kind of just like
walking on a padless pad so that's why I
just put it yeah because you're you're
actually trying to capture like
something like complex about yourself
but I want to ask this question again
because you you guys are all now trying
to build something right so your socials
suddenly become something a little bit
different right so you yourself probably
expect when you talk to someone else to
get a simplified version right but then
if the simplifi version kind of
intrigues you then you're going to start
to ask more
questions so so let's do take two we're
meeting new people again how many of you
know this particular thing design a
document. design mode equals on okay I'm
gonna blow your mind
now can you see this all right I you
don't need to know how to code right
click
inspect go to
console type in
document. design
mode
equals on now watch
this
ready you could directly edit on this
and I want you to every time anytime
you're trying to make a bio you're
writing a tweet or doing a post turn on
your design mode
so what should we change uh Ro hits to
making ail making a film school any
other
suggestions yeah let's just combine them
right
building a
school to teach
anyone how to make better
films how's
this what what's the next thing you'll
want to do with this like if you saw
this
profile che check out this check out the
school right or what you're going to do
if that captures your attention you're
going to scroll down and start to look
at the feed right so so you kind of have
to start to think about like everything
that you put online actually can be
designed and so this is why I I'm
building a school that teaches anyone to
make better films
right
and some of you actually have really
good ones so for example this is cats on
Twitter music producer music producer oh
okay so if I go to Spotify I can check
out the tracks uh Niti is actually
really clear navigating brand girl
trauma that's on her IG right
so you should adapt to a platform but
please stay consistent so that way when
people find you on every single platform
they know exact what you're about and
who you
are and if you think about this suddenly
I think this will help you to figure out
what your what you should be posting
because I was looking at all of your
socials I think all of you could
actually be posting more about your work
and the reason is because you do not
want to delay building an audience that
is the most valuable and the most
powerful thing that you can have is that
while you are in sf2 not only are you
working on your project but you're also
building an audience because there's a
high chance that your project is going
to change after sf2 but if you start
getting Hab a building audience then
every person who starts to believe in
you can be on a journey right so let's
look at this now we know who you are
Imagine again you're at a party okay and
you're meeting new
people hi I'm cat I produce music right
so this is her profile hi I'm rohad I'm
building a film school this is his
profile
right what are questions would you ask
Road or uh um
cat if somebody introduce you hey I'm
building a film school what questions
would you ask
yeah sorry get the uh get the
mic I just said Why That's it yeah like
why you building a film school okay any
Ryan I would ask uh where is it okay
where is it that's good one
yes I would ask what kind of films okay
what kind of films yeah like we actually
all know this right you're going to ask
you're going naturally ask questions
like why oh that's cool what kind of
music do you make oh how can I join your
Film School uh are you doing it full-
time and some of you actually did a good
job in starting to answer these
questions right so cad actually said I
quit my tech job to make music full-time
right so so instantly on her feed it
answers one of the anticipated questions
um
let's look at you don't mind me roasting
you a little bit right
Road let's look at rhead right um oh
pretty good RAB just posted this
uh okay um posted this uh on March 4th
right learn anything about film making
just hit hit my DMs right if I saw this
building a school will teach anyone how
to make better films and then I saw this
rather than the hey Roo films I suddenly
will have a better incen if I just came
across Road like hey you're building a
film School uh Josh and I are looking
sick people to like help us with films
maybe I'm not helping you build your
film school but suddenly you have a
connection with this right
um but yeah you see like how the the bio
is actually a pretty powerful thing to
kind of connect your entire
feed so the question here is once Road
has this bio what should he be posting
about
how do you get into the film how do you
get into film school what else how
do excuse me how to make better films
how to make better
films yeah the process of building film
school yeah the process of building Film
School these all seem like man I feel
like what you're teaching us is so too
simple but I'm trying to bring this to
your attention because it is very simple
but we just have to have a better job of
doing it and I'm going to show you Bill
space we we were in a very dark place at
different points along our journey I'm
going to show you I'm going I'm digging
into the archives uh somebody raise your
hand was it oh I was going to say have
you Tau anybody else like film making
have I what like not
you but like for RIT one of the
questions I would ask is like okay you
want to like who else have you taught
you know what El
credibility oh credibility right yeah so
I think one of the things that's
interesting is that so okay let's click
into Ru films
um yeah so one thing here is how can how
can rib build credibility so one thing
building credibility here will probably
be somewhere along the lines of follower
counts how engaged the post are those
kinds of things to build credibility
right but then when you go to the site
you probably need some some um social
proof at least get some testimonials
right or this one you probably trust
this person because over 100k followers
but don't think that you can only build
credibility if you have a large amount
of followers because you can also check
out people's engagements for
example wait I'm not going to call
different people out there are clearly
accounts with over 80k followers but
every single post has like 2K engagement
so you know like the credibility
immediately drops because you think is
it because of a Bots or something like
that crypto accounts
yeah okay this is our bio we're at a
place where people build cool [ __ ] uh
actually YouTube does not strike us for
that so that's good so what do we post
we posted this one today right because
we're at a place where people build cool
[ __ ] so what should you see on our feed
at least something about people building
cool [ __ ] people learning about building
cool [ __ ] or we teach you how to build
cool [ __ ] right just everything you to
be
hyperfocused um let's look at some
examples is uh Edgar here hello do you
mind if I
look yeah let's look into
this so first off
this this account is actually in terms
of well first off you got AI reality tv
as IG that's just like amazing right and
then uh the bio says AI real TV watch
and join the first AI reality TV show I
think it's actually pretty good like you
could change little things here and
there but this is already pretty good
but what
happens the feed is just not congruent I
could I changed the account before it
was French AI guys and it was personal
brand yeah yeah okay so before it was
French AI guy now it's a TV so I see um
when are you posting new new stuff on IG
or Twitter so far I've been more
focusing on Twitter the last week I see
I
see yeah but I think one one thing
that's cool here is well this was so
posted I quit my job to create AI
reality TV a video game similar to The
Sim or Animal Crossing but every
character is an artificial intelligence
meaning it can have its own reflection
decision and conversation I started by
creating my own characters and sharing
their Little Adventures on social media
but then people started to ask if they
could have their own character so for
the last 3 weeks I've been working hard
to make that happen and today I'm happy
to announce that the simulation is live
and running and that the first users are
starting to get their very own AI
characters we've got Danny from
Venezuela Bonnie from LA or Broski from
Canada and more coming every day come on
AI and I'll send you the link here's a
question it's actually not a bad video
at all right good
engagement how could this account be
better instantly yeah I think that if
the I think the thumbnails or the cover
photo on each of the posts if it if it
showed a little bit more of the um like
what it is it's what the AI reality TV
is like if you just changed the co cover
to a segment of his AI reality I think I
think that that's one step yeah
something any other
thoughts I think Bronson pretty much
nailed it this would be so much better
if the thumbnail was even for example
um something like this right it's just
all very clear that something that's
happening on ARL TV and Twitter is more
like there's only this like image of the
show all the time yeah yeah exactly
because one thing that when I saw this I
meanly thought oh is this person this
character actually AI generated or is it
something else right um so yeah like
keeping the feed very consistent is a
nice thing for example
um before we come here let's just look
at this one actually let's look at uh
samia's
right let's let's first look at the bio
could it be
better
yes yes okay remember last
time clear good writing is erasing
things what can we erase the first two
on 20 20 yeah why did you include
20 I just thought people should know
that I'm making good music at such a
young
AG I would agree but that only works if
you're like 18
19 when the first digit I just lost my
chance I told you I'll get you if the
first digit starts with a one then you
could you could Flex a little bit when
it becomes two nah
so yeah
um I would also remove um I don't know
actually Delhi to San Francisco is like
kind of cool Ryan did you have something
to say I mean I don't even know if you
should erase anything but you making
handy pop music on the first line that's
also a really good suggestion right but
uh it makes it makes it look kind of
weird though then right it's like long
medium short you Rite out short medium
long um personally I I think it's pretty
cool if it's just making Hindi pop music
on the very top and then maybe the
second line you can write something a
little bit longer right um move from
Delhi to San Francisco to pursue uh
music full-time that in the is like oh
kind of sick like somebody just move
from India to the states to make Hindi
pop that's like kind of unique right um
but when you go to the feed here's a
question is it clear that this person
makes
music
Karen what do you think this person
makes honestly kind of looks like art
okay like like
I yeah there's more like aesthetic
layout as the thumbnails rather
than something hinting at music I guess
like a
Blog yeah yeah so let's I'm going to
show you this uh Sean was hes if you
look at
his you can see this right very clear
music producer as soon as you scroll
down these three are kind of kind of
distracting but he pens three things up
here what is this instrument called by
the way anybody
know there's like a very specific name
for it and and just like look at the
psychology when you are on here you see
music producer you scroll down well
that's kind of interesting you Meely
want to click in and when you click in
he doesn't disappoint you he just
starts right so you're like oh sick what
is this then you start clicking another
one
that's crazy yeah see just it's so
simple but it's so good
um yeah just showing this example again
I know I'm moving kind of fast but any
any questions so far like you really got
to master the first two things before
you even move on to anything else a
really clear bio and now your entire fee
should also be really clear all
reinforcing what your bio is talking
about right m yes what was number three
of the the three important things by the
end we're getting to a third one how to
craft your own voice let's just jump
into it um sorry I also want to ask um
just can you speak a little bit louder
yeah sure um how do you uh if you're
using your like your own personal
account now yeah should you still just
kind of be not putting just regular
stuff just still kind of focus it on
the type of work you're
doing yeah I will get to that uh maybe
I'll just I'll jump to this right now is
uh you know how you all of you probably
have a
friend that just convinces you to watch
all kinds of shows right our uh Bas
group it will probably be staven stav's
always convincing us to watch like some
show and then eventually after a month
or two month in we're all watching the
show right and you should be that friend
for your own work work and uh I'm going
to show you how farza does it I kind of
I start to call fara's account like the
friend of Bill
space if you look at fara's account he
says I'm the founder of Bill space I
think he can get away with that because
uh his account is probably big enough um
but then if you look at this his entire
feed he's the friend that just Hypes up
Bill space right and he does it in a way
where you don't feel like he's shelling
Bell space and I'll kind of talk to you
about like when you're building your own
personal account what kind of content
you should be writing about um but I
kind of want to show you how to craft
your own voice
first and then I want to show you guys
the dark ages of Bill space
uh I just don't how embarrassing it was
say
what so uh you really cannot skip steps
to get here after talking to some of you
I know a lot of you are always asking
how do we tell better better stories how
do we tell better stories but you can
tell the most amazing story but if it's
on your feed and your feed is just like
all over the place it's not going to hit
as
hard and
uh many people are doing similar things
there are tons of people building ey
tons of people building Film School tons
of people making music but this is kind
of where you can like have your own take
on things so let's go to Du lingo again
free language education for the world
available on Android iOS and the web
super straightforward but then there's a
Twist this is the kinds of stuff that
this account runs you really capture my
eyes or this one you forgot one every
pop culture reference on Attack on Titan
right um or uh my bra like they also
encourage this kind of meme stuff uh
anybody used dualingo before you ever
get on this notification yeah and then
like somebody say my bring at 3: a.m. or
they also do these TI talks it's
absolute
unhinge yeah
right but this all takes time they
actually took a lot of time to like
really hone in okay what is Du lingo and
until they everybody knows what dualingo
truly is then they can start to have fun
right and if you like joshh always says
man I have the best job ever but we were
also in days in which we were like what
do we ship on IG so let's get to the
dark ages of our
socials again we're at the place where
people build cool
[ __ ] let's see what we're res
shipping first off let's look at this
right we're the place where people build
cool [ __ ] we just now got to the point
where when you come to this place you
can see this is Dean this is Amar this
is Daniel right all these people and
then there's like a random Jeffrey Bal
Tesla um but it's like it's becoming
clear and clear like this is a place
where people building cool [ __ ] right
but we also we're doing stuff like
this here are seven games that people
are making in nights and weekend season
4
but yeah you can see we're like
iterating right we we're also trying to
find out like okay what can we talk
about let me show you some of the
shenanigans that I have
done
oh such as this one let's go to our
friends that keep you
accountable hey I Shi this the whole
team agreed with it uh it's a fake phone
thing you know farza did you get the get
the [ __ ] out Local Host make sure to
ship uh shrooms later bro um or there
was even a darker time so let's look at
time stamp 7 well 7:14 a.m. December
208th 2022 not that long ago and then
there was a time when we weren't really
sure what we're
shipping and then I was shipping this
startups be
like
like like there were times when we were
just like I don't even know what's
happening anymore right so it took a
long time for us to figure out um it
around this line and start to ship
things that just all is everything is
just
coherent so I'm showing this so that way
you don't just think I'm roasting you
but also showing our own process
right um and look at some of the stuff
that were really good that we Shipp in
the beginning and these things always
net as the most amount of like
engagement and building fans is when we
just started out being super clear look
at this one like the engagement is
insane uh web 3 is a new frontier you
also notice that we use uh uppercase
over 100k Builders are pioneering oh
that's that's a weird copy are
pioneering this future of the internet
with us right but it's super clear like
this is going to be a resource
tweet um but now we're building a
YouTube and it's kind of hard because
right now when we tweet we have to start
from Ground Zero again so our
engagements are not that good but you
can always start by being really really
clear our campus lectures are now
available for everyone starting with
these lectures and this is what it
covers right so this one did pretty well
for that account it's because we're just
being really really clear again so for
example on our Twitter I probably don't
have as much freedom to [ __ ] around
anymore because right now I'm rebuilding
something new and I have to explain to
my audience or our audience okay we're
doing YouTube right so what does that
mean but I feel like a lot of you are
probably thinking I still don't know
what to talk about because if you did I
think you would be posting on Twitter
every single day you would be posting on
IG every single day and I really
encourage you to start to think about
how to do that um we talk about the
friend at your work and these are kind
of two things that you can talk about on
your personal account related to what
you're actually
building one share about what you're
learning and two share about what you
become an expert in and I'm going to use
fara's account as an
example so he's sharing about what we're
doing or becom an expert right the first
one sharing about what we're learning so
farza this morning tweeted about
learnings with YouTube right so again
he's like that friend that's telling you
yo we're doing like I got this bill
space saying we're doing something cool
right it's YouTube um oh give me a shout
out thanks bro wait when did you take
this
um or farza is has become an e a expert
in selling authentically so farza is
tweeting about what he feels like he has
become an expert in
right or um what's another one I think I
dig up another one ah this is a really
good
one is that you should always aim to
have truth in your posts and that's kind
of relates back to like sharing things
authentically and I really want you to
like take away with this as well like a
little bit of confession can actually
gain a lot of acceptance so take this
one for example right we post farza
posted this where he was very honest
about
what we were doing in
2023 right or even this post right we're
basically kind of confessing to you or
admitting to you some of our mistakes
and then the audience responds pretty
well or even something as silly as this
but it's also
true how many of you got this
email yeah it took us a long long time
actually I would say to learn a lot of
like how to get good at various
platforms and um we just tell people we
were dumb don't beat us and these are
things that we had to figure out the
hard way right so then it relates to the
audience why does it relate because
everybody can relate that these things
are actually really really hard to
do and uh yeah I think if today like
forget all of the complicated things
like storytelling
forget you know like oh how do how do I
do um what's a very common question oh
how do I make my cold emails really
really good I think if you just start
doing these three things it's going to
flow to everything else um and
storytelling will become easier and uh
maybe I can give you this that topic is
a whole lecture in itself I wanted to
pack it in but I feel like it become too
long hell we could even have two dmws
next week if you guys want and uh any
questions
Ryan can you reiterate the three points
one more time
yes Banger bios for
socials why is it
important Clarity what impression excuse
me first impression first impression
that's a really good way of saying right
first impression you want to be able to
remember what this person is about right
and often times just being really clear
is a great way to have a first
impression uh know what to post and stay
consistent why having a a very clear bio
helps with
this what do you think
Ryan um because that way critic people
people can just go from your bio to your
post and see what you're about yeah yeah
exactly any other thoughts credibility
yeah credibility it's just like if
everything just flows nicely together
it's so easy to understand what you're
doing and the last thing is uh begin to
craft your
voice any questions on this I feel like
I think this one can also be in its own
lecture but I think that if you are just
constantly iterating on one and two then
this will just become clear and clearer
and clearer so for example road is
building a film school there's like a
thousand ways to talk about building a
film school and you're going to discover
one particular way to talk about it in
which you like and the audience also
likes yes how do you balance between
like like let's say you like writing it
in a certain way or you like a certain
type of video but you know that it won't
do well on socials you know so like how
do you balance that like how do you do
the being like yes you know having your
own voice but then like within the
restrictions of like what will do well
you know what will go vir that brings up
a really good point how many of you feel
like you're actually like writing your
own
voice how do you know you're writing
your own
voice I like I speak okay like if the
same to
me here's another question should you
write like you actually speak
online I don't know about should it's
just how I it's kind of like in between
right but one thing I kind of asked
because it was kind of half and half is
that you actually don't really create a
voice it's already there but it's muted
by a lot of other distractions so for
example um immediately you're asking oh
should I should I write in a certain
voice that you know nobody will like but
how do you really know that you know
what I mean have you posted 50 things
and iterate a little bit each time not
to match the audience but to like really
get down what you want to say so that's
why like often times if you come to
stavin and I the we probably all said
the first thing is like let me look at
your account man you have not posted 30
you have not gotten on a schedule so we
don't actually know if this works or not
um even like uh like my my own learnings
this time right I have so much bias
about YouTube I'm like no it needs to be
this needs to be this needs to be this
but I also realize our YouTube hasn't
gotten that many views yet so we need to
just like keep going until we find
something but let's look at your
account okay let's let's do this again
console document tab. design
mode
all right first off could we make this
bio
better what do you think Josh what
should we
change why are you
nodding just like wait do you need
glasses yeah I I can't read that how are
you
filming he sees through the camera yeah
he sees through the camera that's why
he's so good at making videos
his eyes are the
camera what do you think D should we
change a
bio
yeah don't just
agree what should we
change definitely keep this because it
helps us as far as I was say I like the
micros quotes it kind of makes him feel
important like who said
that I I think I'll just do
this
wait
wait let's make sure to edit this part
out wait wait
wait
Dev is very uh persistent on
this what's
happening yeah I
did no this is way
cooler
yeah
this is kind of cool
right the micros SAR guy helping you buy
your first business those Spas
sf2 hot take should we keep this or not
keep
it a way to make it a little more
athetic yeah what do you think
far if he's a student somewhere doesn't
feel right you know like he needs to
feel like more if you work sometimes on
his account yeah exactly right like this
is starting to look like way better the
micros SAR guy helping you buy your
first business it's also his
profile yeah I think that's fine um I
think even this right um what is this
for I just somebody to create a was this
was it buyer
intern yeah um yeah I think you could
just go back and change this but you
know the micros SAR
guy yeah what is this I'm 22 again if
the first digit is not one don't flex
your
age you know like this hits
harder this is this is lame this would
be me it's like okay I mean you only got
six
figures it was m just like one line yeah
it was like I didn't know like I'm some
like is very short you know it's like
pretty the main thing is that like
whatever I was put off up it was meant
to be like a one line whatever I see I
see I see
yeah I think you're post
um what is
this I see he could have a better
profile picture in my opinion it's just
like you can just see build space cannot
see like your face you know yeah that's
also a really good
point this is good this is a good
picture of you
zoom
yeah anybody else want me to like look
at their
profile Ry oh oh I actually pulled your
yours up earlier it's
president
Ryan
wait why can't I find
you oh here we
go my take is
uh nine
it's it's up it's honestly it's up to
you guys um but yeah I do I do have a
philosophy if the first digit is not one
just keep it off yes K oh well actually
ask oh I see I see what do you guys
think about this
profile I think instead of building a
clothing brand I was thinking about
making like an actual account for the
clothing brand and then doing like um
actually no building a clothing brand
and then adding the account that would
be
better I think if like a really cool
Vibe would be building a what's your
building brand uh clothing
brand oh it's called campaign Camp
campaign
okay you could play on the old
presidential like prepare for
yeah okay let's look at this right um I
actually think that sf2 b Bill space
here actually kind of makes sense
because this account doesn't really have
like a lot of posting yet it's not
consistent so then people can kind of
see oh this is a student associate Bill
space right um this link I would just
take it off and you would just put it in
whatever that allows you to do a link so
then this becomes like really
clean you want yours Karen what's your
handle
just I was doing much of ml stuff at the
time um I'm so confused this is a good
start second the
letter oh B okay
okay buildings say calls for the
internet
anti-reductionist noise
enthusiasts again let's come back to
this imagine meeting a new person at a
party what do you do what are you into
this just goes really hard like straight
in I'm an anti-
reductionist if you are if you are at a
philosophy party that would make sense
oh you're anti- reductionist fine I'm a
maximalist but here it just yeah what
look again it's all up to you you can
keep these things if you want just my
suggestion especially if you're buil
like you got to think about this way a
lot of people use Twitter or social just
to hang out with friends but you're not
really using that for that purpose
necessarily right so I'll spend some
time crafting this um I I like this you
like this one I think you like it it
feels clean well I think I like it cuz
it's like like I can tell that you're
like you're good like it's edges and I
can tell that you're a good program
CU I just wish I had a link though like
I don't know where to where to go yeah
so I wish there was a link another
another programmer chime in another
developer yes uh the anime profile
picture instantly increases
credibility cuz every single like good
programmer has like an anime profile
picture yeah yeah you know I think I
think you're really good one this uh
started coding and dreaming in C+
Plus at the age of three you know like
actually you could go this route because
then people like oh that's kind of funny
like who is this guy right yes U I feel
as a programmer that's too much and I
would be like this is someone who's not
a good programmer because no good I see
I see dude this is getting I mean I use
repist
so yeah actually uh what's John
CarMax oh yeah that's a good it's a good
one except he's way more accomplished
so yeah like but but think about this
one though he also kept it really really
clean he just tells you exactly who he
is do all of you know who he
is I'll take time to learn who he is
it's super cool
guy any other thoughts or did you want
me to roast more bios we could do this
your do you want to do Instagram or do
you want to
do
okay what is your
profile this one
yeah
okay let's look at
it let's just raise the hands if you
love it raise your
hand that's hence my facial expression I
was like H that was a terrible
way how how do we make this
better one second let's turn on the
design mode
again
it's like hard to read that's because
you can't
see why bridging gaps what do you what
are you trying to say when you say
bridging gaps yeah that's a good point I
think like I think ideological or like
um social Society like ideology gaps not
like poverty gaps and stuff you know
more like um between people and yeah I
just I just threw this on because we can
always like edit it later cat what was
you what were you say I was just say
that bridging gaps was kind of
confusing yeah yes less about the text
but I feel like you can get a better
profile I feel like that was the thing
that made this not hit for me I actually
was kind of okay with the copy
um but bi doesn't go with like the posts
that I see yeah that's a really good
point as well like your biopic should
also start to fit the vibe of what
you're doing right um what's what's one
thing you really like when you go to
meet new people what's one thing you
always tell people you
do uh something about
storytelling okay and yeah and let just
start with that yeah immersive yeah like
in-depth storytelling immersive
storytelling bridging divides um through
stories I kind of just like I tell
stories and then if you're ped to
the to that was a lot I don't know how
to help just quite yet but we'll swim
back to that but it's difficult right
this is this is uh my site and it it
still needs work but
um yo who said that so like it is it is
kind of like hard to do and I actually
like it around it several times but I'm
probably going to it around it again
right uh designing stories at Bill space
and then I just keep it really simple
designing stories at Bill space and why
do I not say I tell stories at Bill
space all those different things because
I think ultimately what I'm doing is
designing those stories and so I was
like oh that's kind of interesting
um but then so like uh but yeah you can
come over here and give me your email if
you
want always
no any uh any other
bios okay which which account
Bel are you related to Jordan Bel
for dude that should be your
bio what do you guys
think simple I think it's great too
simple no such
thing you don't like it I just don't
like Flags too much wait you
don't what do you
mean it's
record too
like what there's no like uh you're just
like cake without without the without
the cream you know what I mean
a little bit like spice here more detail
I think uh I feel like get if there was
a little descrition
like yeah here's another here's a here's
a first sorry go ahead dad something
like um fighting um phone addiction one
block at a
time okay okay I like that let me just
write that down so one thing I one thing
that we do at Bill space a lot is that
we would often times write these like
cute descriptions but we usually discard
them because there's there's something
there right to kind of refine making
clear right finding um fighting phone
addiction fighting addicts one block at
a time that's totally
different but let's let's just like
start iterating on this right so the me
thing jumps out at me is why are there
like two links like which one do you
want me to go to
ideally um my personal one my personal
website cuz then there's block there and
like all the credibility and like my
story if you want to look at it I see
here's a question why can't the story
just be on
here so
cool cuz that's like part of my story
but the entirety of it I see I see I
think you should think about it let me
pull up a site an example that I thought
was actually really really good oh I
know what it is it's um
hey hold on let me try to find
this which one is
it ah
any of you seen this
one so this is made by Jason Reed and
the people who made hey.com all of the
software packages and just take a moment
to read this this actually really I'm
just going to read this out it's
actually really good um they're building
something uh
called campfire
right and look at the copy here this
like pay attention to the story Stelling
here it's really straightforward right
something happened to the business
software you used to pay for it once
install it and run it whether on
someone's computer or server for
everyone it feel like you own it and you
did today most software service pretty
good right addresses a problem then it
goes down um this is where it gets cute
but it makes sense here once upon a time
you own what you pay for you controlled
what you depended on and your privacy
and security were your business we think
it's that time again and they're
introducing it tells you what it is and
just tells you to stay tuned this is
actually really really solid launch um
site to tell you what they're building
right so my encouragement would be you
could direct people to your personal
site but the question to ask is like why
you see
um you probably also
see
this did he do this where you also see
that fars account does something similar
but you you have to remember one thing
his account is already multiple size of
yours right and so when you're just
starting out you should probably be
really really focused on making your bio
clear but directing people to One Source
One Source of
truth but let's come back to this bio um
this makes it sound like you're building
this at Bill
space right you're building this thing
at Bill space
does that make sense you guys see that
not yeah for now you yeah yeah yeah I
guess my point is uh it almost seems
like this is a product being built by
you at Bill space which could
potentially like confuse people like oh
is get block part of Bill space as a
product or is G plock truly Daniels
right that's a good confusion excuse me
that's a good
confusion uh I don't know if it's good
confusion because I'll guide you through
what I would do right and really think
about what you would do if you saw um
this particular account right you might
go building get Block at Bill space and
then you're like oh this actually really
cool and he's building this
here wait a
second I'm so confused what the hell is
Bell
space wa how does this relate to oh man
seems kind of
strange say what you're competing
between those spaces Landing
get yeah you see you're you're actually
competing three landing pages all of a
sudden
right any other last one last one me me
me you perfect do Instagram do Instagram
not not Twitter
I
I you guys in my
Instagram man this is good this is oh
follow black [ __ ]
sorry what what should uh Josh's uh bio
say no you don't have to go through the
pictures
okay I I just care about the
bio doesn't matter man the class
actually technically ended now about 20
minutes ago got to
go
