Transcripts
Hello Everyone! Welcome back
to the next part of our series, "Freelancing for beginners"
Today's video is really special, because in today's video, we're gonna discuss
some chosen tips and tricks that will help you as a beginner
And I want you to keep them in mind if you're beginning your freelancing journey
First tip is to define your niche
Remember that your niche should be specific
It should reflect itself impressively
Suppose I am a graphic designer, that's my broad niche
And what do I do under graphic designing, poster designing
Though the sub-niche is illustrations and I like creating them
In illustrations, I have one specialization, that is cartoons
it's a broad niche
now, we came down to a sub-niche, where we can stand out immidiately
It's really important initially
to stand out among the competition and also the people around us
So, it's really important to choose something in which you're really good
when you have that quality
You can define yourself
You will learn that yes, it's that person
Tip no.2 is to create an online presence
In the past previous video, we discussed the master strategy
[we're gonna discuss the master strategy, doesn't depend what's your skill
This master strategy is for growth as a personal brand
the web design process, the quotes and the tricks that you have used in that
Master strategy for content writer, or designer... whatever you wish to write
make an optimized bio, mention what you do, what you're gonna do there and what all you'll share
You can share at night if you don't get much time
you can then posts and carousels
or 7 tips for beginners or 7 tips that I learn
this is you have to do it and post 2 times a days
morning and evening or morning and night
you'll have everything prepared, plus you'll build a community and be connected to people like you
[previous video]
discussed a secret master strategy, that will help you grow a good online presence, so if you haven't watched it yet. then go watch it
Follow the series serially, so that you get to know what am I talking about
Remember, when your online presence is good
You'll get many references and you'll have better networking
You can create your online presence on any platform
Wherever you think you can grow, you choose it
You must grow your online presence there
It's not really needed to show your face, just your work is enough
There are many ways to post your work... check them out
Tip no. 3 is set your goals and make a business plan
so, here we are practically doing a business only, the model would be
what are your expectationsns from it and what are your goals regarding the business
make one diary and writing diary is a good habit, so you should start
You should make short term goals
it might be related to your skills or any amount
that I need to achieve these things in this period of time
If you get a deadline, then it's better
It's human nature
That's why it's really important to write your short term goals and long term goals
What are you expecting in 6 months, 3 months
Note down all those things and work accordingly
That will give you a vision that what to do next...
Tip no.4 is networking and building relationships
This one is really important, but many people don't keep it in mind
They discard it, what does that mean?
Whenever you enter a niche, there are other people in the same niche similar to you
you must network and collaborate with them
Learn from them and they will also learn from you
how will you connect, so there are many in our community, all the subscribers
There may be a lot of people in this community falling into your niche
You can comment and find your category people and exchange email addresses
You can open a page in collaboration
You can startup together
There are many big ideas
But you can start really small and design the progress together
You can discuss ideas together
This is how a group is formed, networking means meeting your kind of people
People think networking is just with the clients
First of all you must connect to other freelancers
You will grow connection with clients as well, they will refer you as well
That way, you will be refered by other people and you'll grow altogether
It's important in starting that you network with positive community
you must set realilistic rates
There are some criteria for setting rates. first is you can set rates as per your experience
Second is complexity, how complex is that project
The third is how much time consuming is that project
and also keep the budget of that client in mind
keeing an eye on these three things, you can track your rates
You must consider these three things
That is how you fix your rates
you can keep hourly rate or fixed rate
You can also offer custom rates, but keep them realistic
SO that they don't run away
another important point is to keep competitive prices
offer some lesser price comparing it to the current market prices
So that there is more chance of you getting orders
[If you're good at something, never do it for free]
It's your work and our hardship, so you don't do it for free
But you can negotiate for the prices
The next tip is about communication, it plays a really important role
the other person won't meet you physically, you have to convince them with text
you must have good vocabulary, convincing power, correct grammar and a little english
A bit of everything
If you are weak in anything, then you can practice it
because convincning someone is really important
If we talk about international client, then english is the only medium you can talk them to
That is why I am focusing on that
And try to make your english better with time and at least that better, so as to
convince the other guy reading your texts
we can surely do that
doing better at communication has many methods
Observe how texts are written, you can take help of chat gpt and google
To form better text and sentences, you must keep practicing
That's where you will learn communication
The next thing is about skills, you must improve you skills contineously
We must not stop once we have learnt something
The time is changing, the skills are changing, AI is here
But AI is never gonna end job profiles totally
You must learn to use AI and mix it wth your skills to do even better
this is the way to go
"Everything is about mindset"
you can use that AI tool with positive mindset
to improve your skills and always remember you must improve your skills
Start learning the stuff and polish yourself
The next tip is to provide professional customer service
It means when you get clients
but you have to deliver the best work and keep patience
Keep patience and work together
SOmetimes they ask for too many revisions
We get hopeless, even professionals get upset about revisions
Cilents aren't always professional
They think the ways the can be taken
Listen to them, note down, keep yours as well, consider all the stuff
Then only they will be convinced
you must understand both the sides and keep the matter smooth
if you deliver good work, the client will like it
I have already told you that networking is important
They will surely refer you
this happened to me as well, one client named Bello from America
He got me too many clients, I mean 3-4 clients
if you get 4 clients from one client's referral, then this network will go on
Therefore you must do the best and also you must be a bit friendly in communication
They must be convinced and also feels involved
the second last tip is to manage your time well
Because in freelancing, sometimes one project takes too much time, sometimes it'll be done too early
Remember that whatever deadline you have given to your client
Give yourself one earlier deadline, so that you're safe in case of revisions, delay or them not having time
so that the actual deadline is maintained
So, time management is really important
that is why I told you to set goals
if you're starting today, it's not gonna happen that everything will happen today
You must have ' Patience '
it might happen that it's not going how you planned
Something is better than nothing...
you will get results only when you do something, if you aren't doing something
That is why patience is important
It will happen just like you have planned, but you have to give it some time
SO, these were some tips for you guys, I hope you liked them
if yes, then drop a yellow heart or a yellow star in the comments section below
and in the next part, I am gonna share my freelancing journey, so that you get motivated
and also you get some positivity... and discuss my income
