what's up guys ants Canada here welcome
to the ants Canada ant Channel I really
should apologize because over the past
four weeks I was in Canada and I left my
webcam in the Philippines so I couldn't
make any ant videos over the past two
upload dates but uh here we are as usual
on the first and third Monday of the
month a new video um and for today's
video I wanted to show you an unboxing
video um and I guess a tutorial on
insectus lip also known as fluon or uh
PTFE which is uh basically liquid Teflon
and what it's used for in anend keeping
is it's used as a deterrent placed along
the top of your Out World to keep ants
from crawling out um the liquid when
dried is uh super slippery for ants um
and I'm going to show you uh an unboxing
video of my favorite product it's
insecta slip uh ordered out of the
USA from a website called bioquip which
I've mentioned a few times on my uh
channel here uh the website is bioquip
tocom and it gets to you fairly
quickly um if you're in Europe it's
probably better to and cheaper to
purchase from a European site but uh the
problem with those European sites is
they often don't ship outside of Europe
so if you are outside of Europe um like
North America or Asia like myself um you
order from bu equip and they're really
fast and efficient and um it can get
pricey but I think it's worth it if you
have ants that are particularly
difficult to contain like I have in the
past I find fluon um AKA insecta slip is
uh a great product so let's open that
now all right the first thing you might
notice is it's got
a document here attached to the outside
that of course is for Customs um and
that has all the information as to the
contents of the Box um you know just to
let your Customs know that you're not
trying to ship dangerous or illegal
materials depending on your country they
might make you pay for uh customs fees
and taxes and that sort of thing all
right so opening the box now here we go
like so open the box
carefully um you might want to keep all
of the receipts in case it arrives
damaged just in case um if you want to
they might ask you to return it or
whatnot
okay there we
go all right so now you have this
um got some paper styrofoam it's a box
in a
box very well
packed love it love it there you go see
the insectus slip is in this box of
course and we have a document
again this is um inserts
of uh other products that they might
recommend to you and a
receipt all right and now to open the
main
box it's Christmas yay all right so I
ordered the largest size of insectus lip
here it is 16
oz so I'm going to open that right right
now all right it's carefully wrapped in
this cloth material and there it is
insectus
lip 16 oz now this costed me
$99 but this should last me quite a
while because this is a concentrated
solution I used to just use it directly
in its concentrated form but I found
that it is actually more effective if
you mix it with water in about three
parts water one part insectus lip um the
problem with using it in its
concentrated form is when it dries it
can form little tiny ridges that some
ants might be able to grab onto all
right so one thing to keep in mind is to
never shake the insector slip um what
they recommend is about once every 2
weeks
uh to just 3 or 4 weeks I should say
turn the container upside down and mix
it that way um because you don't want
clumping this is actually a
very delicate fluid um also it's kept in
a brown bottle because um over time if
exposed to sunlight it can degrade so
it's it's in a special Brown darkened
bottle all
right now when this hardens the
consistency is kind of like candle wax
enamel paint so um it's best to do it if
you can outside or if you're going to do
it inside try to cover everything with
newspaper um because I imagine the stuff
is hard to get out of um cloth material
or I mean you would you really have to
kind of rub it to remove it from smooth
surfaces even so the more protected it
is the
better all right ant lovers you know the
drill if you enjoyed this video please

button at the top don't forget to check
