Transcripts
good morning
welcome all of you
today's thursday fourth
week in ordinary time
let us listen to the gospel for today
from the holy gospel according to mark
jesus made a two round the village's
teaching
then he summoned the twelve and began to
send them out in pairs giving them
authority over the unclean spirits
and he instructed them to take nothing
for the journey except a staff
no bread nor harvard sack no coppers for
their purses
were to wear sandals but he added do not
take a spare tunic
and he said to them if you enter a house
anywhere stay there until you leave the
district
and if any place does not welcome you
and people refuse to listen to you
as you walk away shake off the dust from
under your feet as a sign to them
so they set off to preach repentance
and they cast out many devils and
anointed many sick people with
oil and cured them
the gospel of the lord praise to you
lord jesus christ
so we have passage when jesus christ is
sending the
the apostles he's sending them two by
two
in paris first of all we see that jesus
christ himself first was going
around the villages from village to
village from town to town
and what he's himself doing he's sending
his apostles to do they say
and we know that in one of the
other gospels said that he sent to the
them to the places where he himself
intend to visit so many times
jesus christ is sending people
uh two different places uh the places
where he himself want to visit so he's
sending uh
different missionaries uh hear the
apostles but then there was the
disciples of the apostles
the missionaries i mean some
i mean all christians on the base of
their baptise are missionary
so we are called to be
witnesses of jesus christ in our homes
working places in our neighborhood
through not necessarily by the words
going uh maybe
and telling them what they
have to do no many times just being i
mean humble service
ability to forgive the kindness offering
the help
not fighting for i mean uh for justice
not
proving the the the neighbors
their i mean how wrong they are or
anything like that i mean
the the fight that will be
i mean there was a a woman
who had an accident i mean
she was crossing the road maybe i tell
carelessly
and she had been hit by a car in
nowadays
people i mean normally i mean we sue the
driver
because i mean the one who's crossing
the road always is
in better position the driver because of
the car because he's
a stronger machine is usually
i mean in the lost position and
instead that woman
didn't didn't fight for justice
saying okay that was an accident
uh no major injuries happened
i mean there was a small small things uh
saying don't worry nothing happened
so i mean people the neighbors
they were they were kind of shocked how
calm she's not fighting
she could go to the court and she could
get i mean few thousands
easily he said no
a witness in the neighborhood something
most probably would not hear
in the news in the tv
in the tv you'll hear how they fight for
every penny
but then i don't know different examples
in so many opportunities today to knock
the door and provide maybe some grocery
shopping for
the elderly person
small things but in our own families
a husband or a wife who convert when
their their spouse were
ready always to forgive i remember
one of my family members how uh
husband abandoned her for many years
and she have to to carry
i mean raising the children by herself
but then for after many years when he
i mean came back she welcomed him she
forgave him
i mean of course it was a process
but she said i promise in front of god
i will love you for good and for bed
until death will separate us so she
welcomed him home
it was the process of course she said i
mean before i mean
[Music]
she could welcome him fully to to the
marriage life but
i remember when she was dying
of cancer she had enormous peace
and knowing that the lord is with her
but he was in life she manifested
the spirit of jesus christ and her
husband i mean
he with tears on her on his knees and
her
at her bed because he he found love
true love was not limited
um until someone did something wrong
no one was ready to forgive even very
serious
i mean since because to abandon the
family
too i mean that was very serious a lot
of suffering many years of suffering and
loneliness
to forgive fantastic
we are all called to do to have that
spirit god in different life in
situation is inspiring us
but here we see coming back to the
gospel
i mean he's sending them two by two
and there was a really conviction in
israel
that the truth need to be based on
two or three witnesses
so uh to have always
sending them two by two
is this giving this two weaknesses so
everybody can witness
so saying that it is true christ
is reason god loves you
it is possible to forgive it is possible
with his grace to rebuild
what was destroyed and they can witness
of their own lives imagine that
there is i don't know met you going
there and saying i was a tax collector
i was i mean destroying people like i
mean the lord called me so
this conversion happened
because i have been loved in the places
where everybody despised me
and that's i mean fantastic
imagine that they're all all going there
and saying what the lord have done in
their lives
[Music]
then we see here that uh
that they go i mean with no bread no
harvard sack no money and they don't
take tunic
i mean it is the signs of uh they go
here when they send by the lord for
particular mission
they go without security because the
spirit tunic and it was this
outer garment which was a little heavier
than the regular
tunic because in the holy land
there galilee and surrounding places
the night the day can be very hot but
night the temperature
dropped quite drastically it's very cold
so the outer tunic
served for many poor people
as the cover during the night
so not taking the the tunic the spare
tunic
this sign of trust that somebody will
welcome them in their homes
the same with the with the food and
money that they don't uh plan saying
okay i go for a week so i have to take
such amount of money so i will be kind
of okay
now they go without knowing that god
will provide
so there's a and what they were i mean
they were set
off to to preach repentance here is
translated repentance
to repent uh to convert sometimes is
this uh
translation and it is uh
i mean this word that takes a wee we
were
having it somewhere before but i mean
metanoia
this greek word which means i mean to
to change way of thinking
it's quite uh the word what is a form
with this
two parts meta which is
after or with or above
and know to think which is
i said translated changing your mind
or to think differently
um to have i mean this really
that everything start with the
perception of the reality
it is not first of all to change the
behavior the change of the behavior
it is a different greek word stratfor
which is to return to turn to to change
the action
but first to announce this metanoia
it is to announce this possibility to
look at the reality
differently to see that god truly
loves us even in the difficulties
uh in the situation when there seems no
way out knowing that the lord will
provide way out
but there is a solution and when we see
i mean i don't know we are that certain
events of life maybe
somebody's crushed is destroyed
discouraged to think differently there
is hope
there is a because you are not alone
because
because there is really a bigger plan
that god is able to bring
life out of death he's able to turn
morning
mourning into dancing that this darkness
can be
turned into light and then
change the way of thinking percept i
mean the perception of the reality
and then and then then the actions will
follow
how to be kind and because then if i
know that god loves me
i mean it is uh easier to go with love
towards those we are set
anyway beautiful passage
and of course invitation
i mean i may be a reminder that we are
all
called to be witnesses
in our families in our working places in
places i mean we find ourselves today
so hopefully we will have opportunity
today
to show that we are disciples of jesus
christ
have a great day god bless you
