educators innovators entrepreneurs the
industries here Uh I think we we're
building a great Community Community of
people who have a Passion for education
Who believe It's The Only way Forward Uh
and This is what the global education
Forum is from the very Start we Wanted
to open the debate Not Just that typical
Uh education debate for people within
the education System Because we Keep
turning around Uh with ourselves While
we understood that If We Wanted to learn
If We Wanted to transcend If We Wanted
To talk about disruption that was many
years ago Uh we Had to do it Uh with
Friends so that Was the initiative we
launched in 2010 As you could see even
though Our Group dates back to 1892 And
I feel that this right now is the moment
that We have been waiting for for so
many years Uh We are in an inflection
Point already 1969 um at there was Just
schools the University was founded later
but Just Second International schools we
made this reflection about Uh the
emergence of Uh Of A New Technology 1969
beginning of the internet it wasn't
called the internet Uh we made a
reflection and It's Sun writing um
there's this New Technology That's
coming Uh to change the way we teach and
The way we learn Uh It's a different way
to communicate and that has a Direct
Impact in What we do in classrooms and
this New Technology Which Had no name Uh
Will probably change Uh the role of
students and role of teachers um that
was over Half a Century ago that we said
this and the moments come and the
moments Now and we certainly live in
this moment historical moment of of
inflection It's a turning Point for Us
all It's historical What we're living
we've been talking about the Technology
Revolution for so long but it seemed
Like It was Never in the classroom It
was Never having the disrupting effect
it could have we were cramming
Technology we were doing things with
Technology we're putting screens in
classrooms but that was not What we were
Talking About That's not What the world
needs That's not What Our students needs
the new learning needs for All of Us the
whole the whole of Our lives we're not
there Uh but now the moment is and the
moment is here and then as with Any
Revolution um We have Uh we're in a
moment of confusion And I May I Maybe
turn into into spanish Because this is a
bilingual Uh event as we as we as we
Just heard e decía que que en cualquier
Revolución existe un un momento de de
confusión previa Y esta es una de las
grandes revoluciones que estamos
viviendo hablamos de la Revolución
agraria de la revolución industrial y de
esta de la revolución de la Inteligencia
artificial y por supuesto no voy a ser
yo quien hable de Inteligencia
artificial porque para eso hay más de
150 expertos que lo van a hacer eh hoy
pero sí está sí quiero dejarles con esta
breve eh reflexión eh antes de
producirse una Revolución siempre existe
un momento de confusión y esta esta
frase no tan conocida de de dickens en
historia de dos ciudades cuando en la
Revolución Francesa sucedía la
revolución francesa y anticipaba la
Revolución Industrial se vivían momentos
como este y yo creo que es donde estamos
en este instante estamos en ese momento
en el que vemos eh las grandes
oportunidades que tiene el ser humano
oportunidades que no habíamos soñado
vivimos una época de abundancia una
época de oportunidad una época de
realización de de potencial humano de
futuro eh de cosas que que que no eran
posibles hace muy poco tiempo y que
ahora sin embargo están al alcance de
nuestra mano e y al mismo tiempo estamos
viendo pues la cara más difícil del ser
humano También estamos viendo el
conflicto estamos viendo la falta de
humanidad estamos viendo eh un mundo eh
que falla que está roto en muchos
lugares Así es que este es el momento y
este es el reto y cuando uno tiene
dilemas de estas características dilemas
e tan grandes eh tiene que hacerse
preguntas preguntas que son además muy
radicales eh preguntas acerca de e es
ahora la la educación el sistema
educativo como lo hemos conocido más
relevante que nunca porque todos tenemos
que aprender a lo largo de nuestra vida
y tenemos que desaprender tantísimas
cosas o es sin embargo un sistema
irrelevante y existen otras alternativas
para aprender que ya no se circunscriben
al sistema educativo formal como lo
hemos conocido hasta ahora yo creo que
es una grandísima pregunta la
Inteligencia artificial es nuestra mayor
esperanza o nuestra peor amenaza también
es una de las grandes preguntas y y y
aunque seguramente hay tonos de grises
para darle respuestas e hay mucho de
blanco negro eh la Inteligencia
artificial nos va a hacer más humanos o
o nos puede llegar a a deshumanizar otra
de las grandes grandes preguntas y Así
podríamos seguir así es que e me
gustaría que estas sesiones a las que
les invito a las que les agradezco a
participar a a colaborar a a compartir
su conocimiento su visión les invito a
que nos hagamos preguntas al final eh si
hay una única cosa que sabemos acerca
del futuro de la educación es que
tenemos que educar a nuestros alumnos
hacer preguntas hacer las preguntas
adecuadas hacer las mejores preguntas a
ir más lejos eh a ser también otro de
los grandes dilemas más humanos gracias
a la Inteligencia artificial eh Y no
menos em eh
espero como en cualquier buena clase que
salgamos con muchas más preguntas de las
que tenemos ahora que sean preguntas
significativas Espero que hayamos e
aprendido entre todos Porque de eso se
trata de construir juntos algo que ahora
es muy incierto eh que nos asomamos como
digo a una era que es completamente
diferente en un espacio que no hemos
explorado nunca en la institución
decimos somos Pioneros desde 1892 y así
nos sentimos Y tenemos un gran orgullo
por ello pero nunca hasta o sea nunca
como en este momento estamos frente a un
Horizonte eh eh Tan diferente a lo que
hemos vivido hasta ahora y al mismo
tiempo tan apasionante por todas las
oportunidades que nos ofrece Así es que
mi invitación es es la de hacernos
preguntas intentar responder a los
dilemas compartirlas no estaremos de
acuerdo habrá debate Espero que lo haya
Este es el principio yo creo que dio un
camino totalmente nuevo diferente y
esperanzador para para nuestros alumnos
que al final es para bueno para el
futuro del mundo del mundo que habitamos
