about things you should definitely avoid

Karnataka tucked between Western guards
and the Arabian Sea it is truly an
underrated paradise and I'm going to
show you why if you're new to this
channel I am a smile and this is our
explainer so reaching Udupi is very
convenient as you are well connected by
Road or rail from all major cities the
nearest major airport is Mangalore
airport which is just 60 km away you can
find Direct trains toi from all the
major cities and you can also drive your
vehicles or take a bus but do note that
roads may not be in top-notch conditions
as some of these roads pass through the
Western guards to reach UD so what is
the best time to visit Udupi the winter
months November to February are most
ideal to enjoy Udupi as it is cooler
with clear skies and calm Blue Waters on
the beaches the months from March to
June are very hot and humid so be ready
to Bear the heat the monsoon months from
mid June June to Mid September all the
beaches will be closed so avoid visiting
Udupi if you're going for a beach
holiday because of the stormy monsoons
let's get to the places to visit and
things you could do when in Udupi so
there are 20 plus spots to visit and all
of them span across a 50 km area so to
make things simpler I have divided these
20 spots in three different clusters the
first one is the Udupi City and the
spots to the north so one of the most
popular spots to visit is the Udupi SRI
Krishna Temple this is a 600 year old
Temple dedicated to Lord Krishna known
for its intri carvings and architecture
it's a must visit for those interested
in religious history and culture the
next most popular spot is the malpe
beach and the seawalk this beach offers
a long stretch of golden sand and tons
of activities you can try you can do all
the popular water sports at this beach
including the unique floating path on
water the costs for these are mentioned
on the screen here there are also a lot
of restaurants and vendors to enjoy
while you are at the beach a little
ahead is the MPE seawalk and Park which
is a long pathway made at the river mous
for people to take a evening stroll in
from here you can take a ferry to the
next popular spot which is the St Mary's
Island this is one of the main
attractions of Udupi this island is
known for its unique basaltic octagonal
rock formations and pristine beaches
made of seash shells you need to take a
ferry from the ferry point for about
rupes 300 per person and the last Ferry
is usually before 5:00 p.m. so make sure
to reach before that and explore the
island the ferry remains closed during
the monsoons the next spot is the Kimu
hanging bridge this is a suspension
bridge over the kamanu river offering
stunning views of the surrounding
Mangrove and coconut plantations on our
visit the bridge was closed for
Innovations but you can enjoy a
beautiful boating or a kayaking
experience in the river under the bridge
go for a sunrise or Sunset session to
make the most of your kayaking
experience the next location lies a
little to the North of fupi city which
is called the Delta point this is the
point of Confluence of Three Rivers with
the Arabian Sea this is a quain little
spot to enjoy and you can go boating
around the Delta at this spot for about
200 rupees the road to reach Delta point
is a really beautiful one and it passes
through a village called Codi bangre
which is a thin strip of land with the
river on one side and the ocean on the
other the next is the corporation Bank
Heritage coin museum this tiny museum is
dedicated to the history of coins and
currency managed by Corporation Bank it
showcases a wide collection of coins
from different eras and it's a great
spot for history Buffs and coin
enthusias the next spot is a tiny spot
called paduk Beach this is a secluded
beach less visited by tourists and
connected via a bridge known for its
Serene atmosphere it's a great spot for
those who want to get away from the
crowds and enjoy some peace and quiet
you can also add more spots from
kundapura town like the Instagram famous
marante Beach to this cluster but they
will be about 50 km away from the city
the next cluster is of the manipal town
and the Interiors of hupi District so
the first SP in this cluster is the
husta Shila Heritage Village this is a
unusual open air museum featuring
traditional houses architecture
artifacts textiles utensils Furniture
craft s and toys all in one place from
across eras that Udupi has seen the
entry to the museum closes at 3:45 p.m.
so reach before that to make the most of
your time the next spot is called
manipal endpoint Park this is a great
picnic spot with a beautiful Park
overlooking stunning views of the
surrounding landscape the third spot is
Our Lady of Fatima Church this comes
between Udupi and manipal and you can
take a look at this beautiful Church
known for its intricate architecture and
stained glass windows the next spot is a
waterfall called AR Falls a quaint
waterfall located very near to the city
it's a good spot for enjoying a little
dip and splash around some Waters do
note that it may dry up in the summer
months now moving a little towards the
Interiors the next spot is called K
basadi or chatur Muka basadi in varanga
town this is a unique 850e old Jane
Temple located on an island in a Serene
Lake which houses the chatur Muka or the
four-faced idol of tankar only a boat
can take you to the temple but avoid
going in the afternoon as the boat
doesn't operate between 1 to 3 3:30 p.m.
the next spot is the Klu Tita Falls and
this is one of my favorite spots for the
sheer Beauty and uniqueness this Falls
is located deep in the western GS almost
50 km away from Udupi you need to Trek
for about 40 minutes from the parking to
reach the falls and pay a 30 rupee entry
ticket for Indians but it is absolutely
worth it the waters are perfect to enjoy
a dip and especially if you're traveling
in the hotter months on our visit there
was a thin stream of water but it was
perfect to stand under and enjoy a swim
in the uniqueness of the waterfall is
the the way it drops straight from the
end of a cliff in an enclosed curve the
entry is closed in Monsoon months and be
careful of the slippery rocks and deep
water in the pond below the next part is
called onake ABI Falls another Majestic
waterfall but not as popular as the
kudlu falls and you can also reach the
top of this waterfall and see the view
below however be extra careful as there
is no security or Provisions for
tourists made at the top it is worth
exploring if you have some extra time as
it is almost 60 km away from Udupi near
the AUM Hill the last spot in this
cluster is the agumbe hill and the
Sunset Point a beautiful Viewpoint so if
you're around Sunset you can have a nice
view while coming back so the next three
spots which I'm going to tell you are
all in the karala town near Udupi which
is about 40 km from the city the first
is the SRI gesar statue this is a 600y
old 42 ft High statue cowed out of a
single granite rock the idol is of Lord
bahubali the son of first Jane tankara
he meditated for 12 straight years in a
standing position and it was said that
wines grew around his body which you can
see depicted well in the statue the
Statue resides on a hill overlooking the
entire kkala town the next spot is
called SRI chaturmukha Jane basadi this
is a derasar or a place of worship for
Janss and a beautiful 600 year old
structure made of granite it is right
opposite the gesara statue and offers
the visitors a chance to soak in the
history and sanctity and now the last
spot in the karala town is the St Lauren
Shrine minor Basilica a beautiful Church
known for its stunning architecture and
a 250 year history this place is revered
for miracles among those who keep faith
and has a beautiful altar with a vibrant
facade definitely visit to experience
its beauty and serenity and now to the
last cluster which is south of the city
which has some of the most popular
visited spots ofi the first one is the
kapu beach or the cob Beach this is one
of the most popular spots of Udupi this
beach has a small Market outside its
entrance where you get quick bites to
grab and the beach is known for its huge
Old Lighthouse on top of rocks that
offers stunning views of Arabian and the
surrounding Coastline the beach is
really beautiful surrounded by coconut
trees and backwaters with a Serene
Coastline to enjoy the next is the blue
flag Beach of puuri this is one of 12
beaches in India awarded the
international blue flag status this
means that the beach has clean water it
is safe for swimming has hygienic
infrastructure like toilets changing
rooms and meets a lot of other
environmental criterias the beach has a
beautiful Park and a river just on the
other side of the sandbank you can kayak
and do do other water activities in the
river and the park also has a canteen
selling food and beverages it is a must
visit Beach to enjoy the uniqueness and
the beauty of it the next Beach is
called the yeral beach a secluded beach
which is not visited a lot by tourists
this relaxing beach has a beautiful
Coastline and a lot of beautiful airbnbs
all around it the last on this list is
the Mutu Beach this beautiful beach is
known for its picturesque views and
stunning sunsets it is a great spot to
relax and enjoy Udupi Coastline this
coastline also has a river passing near
it and it is covered in coconut trees at
all these quieter beaches of Udupi you
can experience the Biol luminance
phenomena usually in Peak Winters around
December to Jan it is a marvelous
experience to enjoy the waves glowing at
night when they crash on the shore this
ends all the spots to visit in and
around o but wait there are still so
many spots that you can visit and people
often club mangore and uduak spots
together because of the close proximity
of the Cities so if you want to check
out some more spots around mang then you
can check out this video that we have
made and the link is in the description
so before I close the chapter for spots
to visit I want to tell you about three
experiences that you can try Ben in
Udupi the first one is surfing and
skateboarding lessons at the Shaka Surf
Club located near Delta point you can
take a guided 3 to 5 days surfing and
skateboarding lessons they have a nice
spot in between the ocean and the
backwaters and it's usually operational
from October to May every year the
second is the house board cruises in the
rivers of Udupi so there are two to
three vendors offering you a house board
living dining and cruising experience in
the river flowing BYOD here are the
details and contact numbers so if you
are interested to get that experience
you can call them up and check out and
the third one is the Mantra Surf Club at
mulki so mulki is a small town tucked
exactly between Udupi and Mangalore and
it is a very vibrant surf culture you
can enjoy an amazing rural experience
here while taking surf lessons and you
can also go kayaking in mangr take
standup paddling lessons or go cing
around the village if you're still with
me here and are overwhelmed by the
number of places and the spots to
remember don't worry I have made your
job easier by making a custom Google map
with all these pins about minor and
major spots places to eat places to stay
and all the important information pinned
in a custom Google Map for you find the
link to that in the description and
thank me later but here's my request to
you all the information that I'm
providing to you takes a lot of time and
hard work to compile and edit so if you
want to appreciate our efforts just go
below the video find the thanks button
and send a small contribution our way
that will help us grow this channel much
faster so the next important section is
where you can stay in Udupi so Udupi
City definitely has a lot of hotels but
Udupi also has tons of independent home
stays and beautiful properties which are
run by the locals so choosing the right
one from this is very difficult I have
given some recommendations in three
budget ranges for all types of Travelers
so if you are a budget traveler you can
check out these properties the numbers
and the names will be on the screen as I
go through them first first is his grace
camping second is the saltwater home
stay the third is low tide home stay and
the fourth is Delta Beach Homestead the
next is the comfortable budget category
which are a mix of both budget and a
little bit of luxury so you can check
out the glass water Homestead the
shimmering view Tulum Cottages Coastal
Hideout family Cottages Blue Bay luxury
cottages and Paradise Lagoon
Resort and lastly if you're looking for
a luxury experience check out these
places the postcard on the Arabian Sea
below stays jalaj Heritage Paradise a
beach resort stay witha at White
Serenity also check out the list of
airbnbs around aupi and here are two
that we
liked so now the next question is how do
you go around all these places in Udi
the best way to move around will be
either to have a full day taxi a two
wheeler rental a car rental or your own
vehicle Auto r shws and local buses do
run in Udupi for local transport but
they don't take you to all the touristy
places so a typical two-wheeler rental
will cost you about 400 to 500 rupees
per day and I am leaving some numbers
and agencies that give you two wheeler
rentals I'm also leaving some taxi
operator numbers that you can contact if
you're looking to hire a full day taxi
there are no self-drive car rentals
available in od but you can grab a zoom
car from Mangalore which is about 60 km
now some of the best places to eat food
when you are in ADI so to to enjoy some
local authentic Cuisine visit these
places
machle Mitra samaj Tima Hotel pie
tiffins you can of course try the Masala
dosas idli vas near dossas G roast fish
G roast and all the local curries that
they make for having a comfortable
dining experience and mixed of all
Cuisines try out these restaurants
dolops Egg Factory froth on top the mill
Dolphins now here are some things that
you you should definitely avoid doing
Ben inup number one is traveling during
monsoons number two is traveling without
proper sun protection number three is
avoid a trip in which you don't try any
local Cuisine and lastly avoid littering
at this beautiful place try carrying a
reusable water bottle instead of buying
plastic bottles so now let me give you a
tentative budget for a 2-day trip to I'm
assuming that you're traveling solo for
2 days you'll need about 6,000 rupees
and want a comfortable experience so
here's the breakup a good budget
property will cost you somewhere around
2500 per night for traveling around for
2 days you'll need about 1,200 rupes for
a scooter your four meals will cost you
around 12250 rupees total some voting
tickets and miscellaneous activities
will be around 500 rupees so this will
bring your total to around 6,000 rupees
in this I have not included any water
sports or activities like surfing and if
you're traveling with a group your
expenses come down because you can split
a lot of them now we have offline
digital ebook of this entire video with
some additional sections like
Illustrated maps and pre-built day wise
itineries you can buy these eBooks about
multiple locations from our website the
link is in description on your trips you
