hello everyone this is sweetly and today
I will be going over some of the coolest
character special mechanics and
weathering waves my favorite part of
this game is the combat system so I
thought this video could be helpful if
you're curious about what some of the
characters can do or if you want to
learn how to play your favorite
characters a bit better for disclosure
all content in this video comes from the
Early Access test server things may
change on release but if anything
changes I will update you all in the
comments weing waves is a free-to-play
open world action RPG the game
officially releases on May 22nd globally
and it will be crossplatform between
both mobile and PC for those of you who
are interested in playing you can use my
link to download the game and get a
redemption code let's start with the
Rover the Rover's basic attack is a four
hit combo that looks like this one two
three 4 skill normally looks like this
heavy
attack
ultimate AOE boom so in addition to what
I just showed the Rover also has two
special mechanics so if you notice if I
just Spam my basic attack AR Rover just
does his foreit combo but if I wait a
split second after the third basic
attack he can actually execute a special
two-part combo there's also a visual
indicator if you look at the back of the
Rover and where the gourd is after the
third attack the gourd lights up briefly
1 2 3 light
up and then if you wait for the light to
appear and then press your basic
twice you'll be able to execute this
special combo the other way to execute
this is heavy attack normally the
Rover's heavy attack looks like this and
then if you just press basic attack
twice pretty much right after your heavy
attack you'll also be able to do this
combo now for the second special
mechanic if you noticed while I was
whacking at this poor creature our Forte
gauge has been building up every
character on weathering waves has a
forte gauge some look different than
this one this one has an indicator in
the middle cuz the Rover can store two
charges so to speak what do these
charges mean whenever we light up one
charge for the Rover it enhances his
next
skill if you remember our normal skill
earlier just did one little slash now
that we have two charges our next two
skills will be enhanced and the enhanced
skill turns into a two-part attack just
like this we do a much wider swing or I
guess it's more little swings and then
we can follow up with a jump slash
afterwards now that we don't have any
charges our skill reverts to the basic
form the Rover gains charges from basic
attacks plunge attacks but mostly
from the special mechanic earlier did
you see how much it just gave next we
have one of my favorite characters and
the girl I will probably be remaining un
release
ding is it just me or is the monster
twitching next to
me anyway
dunging let's lock on dungeon's normal
attack is only three
hits one two
[Music]
three and then if you cast your skill
you'll notice it doesn't have a cool
down but you can only press a once and
it does the same
hit ding's heavy attack looks like this
D Jing's
plunge D Jam's
ulti I love how her eyes turn
red oh and in case you haven't noticed
when djon uses her skill she summons
another
sword also you can see it when she
plunges down maybe if I change the angle
her red
sword so when you play ding you're
getting not just a sword user but also a
dual sword user all in one back to
ding's mechanic ding has two sort of
special mechanics the first is she can
unlock two special combos with weaving
in her skill after the basic attack
combo starts so instead of just pressing
the skill by itself if you do basic
basic you can unlock basic basic skill
skill
which applies a flower onto the enemy
and makes them take more damage from
dunging the second combo is basic basic
basic into skill skill
skill the flower only lasts 12 seconds
so you generally alternate between your
two Basics into two skills followed by
three Basics into three skills two or
three
times around this point you probably
want to reapply your flower ding second
mechanic has to do with her forte gauge
and her HP so if you notice normal
attacks do not build up her forte gauge
but the skill hits do and whenever you
hit with a skill ding actually loses a
percentage of her HP sort of like the
Rover ding has a little dividing bar in
the middle and whenever she fills up
half of her forte gauge we unlock an
extra hit at the end of our heavy attack
and it let you press basic attack after
heavy to activate this in addition it
also heals
ding I like to kind of think of it as
when ding is hitting the enemy she kind
of takes on a portion of their
corruption through their blood and then
after she collects enough she eventually
goes to purify the blood and that's why
she gains HP back once she does her one
purifying judgment hit one up for
dunging players always wait for your
gauge to be full before executing her
heavy attack here's the damage from a
full Forte gauge heavy attack the last
hit did
4,000 if we only wait for half the gauge
to fill up before executing her heavy
attack you'll see that it only does
1,700 so the damage is more than twice
if you wait for your gauge to fill up
before slashing
next we have our icy girl sanwa who we
will all receive a free copy of San's
basic attack is a five hit combo that
looks like this one two three four
five one two three four
five San's normal heavy attack looks
like
this s skill summons a curved line of
icy sh
that will disappear after a
while
s
plch her punch has a
surprisingly satisfying
sound swa's
ultimate summons an even bigger ice wall
I guess this one really is a nice wall
the only has one special mechanic but
it's pretty cool and it also has to do
with her forte gauge if you notice
unlike the Rover's Forte gauge sanas
doesn't have a divider in the middle
instead she has a little Frost biton
part that lights up and keeps pulsing
and if you remember from earlier our
normal heavy attack looks like
this but if you hold down the left click
or if you hold down the attack
button you'll see there's
a little bar that travels from left to
right and whenever it lands in the ice
field s links it's almost like a little
mini game and if you let go while the
cursor is in the icy part she does a
special
attack what you can do with this is when
she creates these icy shards with her
skill and
ulti you can actually shatter them with
a special attack to do extra damage the
actual skill name for this is called
detonate which is pretty cool she's
detonating her own icy field also if you
noticed earlier sanwa can temporarily
increase the size of her icy Fields
either through the fifth hit of her
basic attack
combo or her skill and these can stack
up to 3x its original size we can't make
the whole field I see
unfortunately her ultimate directly
expands it to the max SI so you can cast
L and then directly detonate
one tip is that while you're casting
your skill or ulti you can start holding
down your basic attack at the very
beginning of your combo so you can get a
head start on Landing your cursor into
the icy area of her forte gauge and let
go for the boom I thought this mechanic
was pretty cool quite literally next we
have the character a lot of you will be
saving for to P in the second half y
Ling's basic attack is a forehead combo
where she commands her puppet to attack
for her the attack looks pretty cool and
the sound effects are much better than
before heing skill enhances the mark and
adds an additional damage for the next
four
hits y Ling's normal heavy attack she
swings her puppet around healings plunge
attack which honestly looks pretty cool
he's ultimate is a big AOE damage with a
sick animation
on to her special mechanics healing has
two special mechanics but they both
revolve around chaining enemies together
whoever Ying hits with her basic attack
or ultimate gets marked with the centers
Mark and whenever she uses her skill
whenever she hits any one of the enemies
the next four hits will apply damage
onto all the other chain enemies too
scale cast one you can see the damage on
the enemies in the back
Yingling's other special mechanic has to
do with her forte gauge when Yingling's
Forte gaug is full she can enhance her
heavy attack which upgrades the mark
even more and applies a more powerful
version of her skill effect her skill
requires Ying to hit the enemy to
trigger the coordinated attacks but
after she uses her enhanced heavy attack
whenever anyone hits any one of these
enemies Yingling will reain down
judgment attacks on every one of the
marked enemies this is also one of the
reasons why Yingling is a really really
powerful off field to
DPS next we have yangyang our free four
star companion her basic attack is four
hits one two three four her skill
creates a little section
Vortex her heavy attack dashes through
the
enemy PL attack she actually creates a
little Mark on the ground when she
plunges y's
ulti and it's pretty nice for grouping
your enemies
together y has two special mechanics the
first is after her heavy
attack she can press basic attack to do
a little flip so heavy attack and then
she has a little hot backwards y second
mechanic has to do with her forte gauge
once she fills up all three parts and Y
Yang doesn't actually do anything
special unless you have three full
charges her hair starts glowing which is
really sick I like the little touch and
yangong unlocks an extra attack which
actually requires her to be airborne so
he can either jump into the air and then
you'll see that she does this super sick
flurry in the air instead of her normal
plunge attack she can also trigger this
with her heavy attack after you fill up
her three Melodies her heavy attack gets
a little hop at the end so essentially
her heavy attack makes it easy for her
to be airborne can also grappling
hook to execute the attack so anything
that puts her Airborne
Works speaking of being airborn the last
character I wanted to cover in this
video is lingyang or lion dancer Ling
Yang's basic attack is a five hit
combo 1 2 three four five his moves are
really cool one interesting detail I
noticed about lingang is during his
normal attack chain if you'll stop after
the second or the third hit he will
actually hold this lion dancing pose for
quite a
while Leon's normal skill does a little
punch Lion's plant
attack and Ling's heavy
attack ne's heavy attack just puts him
in the air and he can actually follow up
with the plung attack after and sort of
chain this for as long as he has
stamina Leon ulti does an instance of
damage and it fills up his Forte gauge
quite a bit and Ling's special mechanic
does have to do with his Forte gauge
which is mostly charged through his
enhanced skill if you look at the normal
skill it's all white and then after
three basic attacks it has a little blue
border his arms also have this little
sand glow indicating the enhanced skill
is up I think it
expired 1 two three you can do an
enhanced skill normal basic into another
enhanced and then you'll notice the
enhanced skill charges up the gauge
quite a bit and then after his Forte
gauge is full his heavy attack becomes
enhanced and launches him into this true
lion dancing airor mode it looks really
cool has a series of sick attacks and he
ends with a flurry of
kicks in this mode your skill gets
replaced by this one which jumps over
the enemy end and I hear is the flurry
of kicks I think his attack animations
were really well
done with that I think we'll leave here
for now there are a lot more cool
characters and cool special mechanics
and wethering waves a lot of which are
not immediately evident but I think that
is one of the fun parts of the game
discovering all the hidden Combos and
which ones you like to personally use I
originally wanted to Showcase all the
character special mechanics but then I
realized the video would be a bit too
long so maybe I'll go over those in the
character guides in the future thank you
