so how do you know if you're where
you're meant to be in your life or in
your job so this is such a great topic I
have this incredible DBA class our Walsh
College number one Forbes ranked DBA
program and the leaders the students I
have in my class we are working on like
what is their superpower what is the
thing that they've always done in their
lives what are they really good at and
how they can bring that forward in their
life and in their leadership and their
final project culminates in either a
leadership Mini book that they publish
on Amazon or a leadership style Ted Talk
that they're going to do in our crater
studio and one theme and Trend that has
emerged in this class and I absolutely
love my Wednesday night sessions with
them is that each of them are
discovering wow we're really where we
need to be in our lives right now and a
lot of them have had years into their
career they might have been in several
careers some are looking to make changes
whether working for themselves some are
working for themselves and have
companies but they're starting to see
how their life experience their
leadership experience and even being in
this class they're here at the right
time in life and too often when I talk
with students and alumni and
entrepreneurs that will say well I just
don't know if I'm where I should be I
feel like I should be further ahead
maybe I should have taken a different
path and my motivation for you this week
would be to think about where is it you
are right now and what can you do to
contribute to the community and the
ecosystem around you like who can you
help who can you serve who are you
helping and serving already and if you
do have this poll this calling inside of
you to do your own venture to start your
own company to make a contribution
whether it's writing a book I can't tell
you how many of the students said oh
this is on my bucket list to do like I
really wanted to write a book I've been
playing around with some ideas or I said
a couple years ago I was going to write
a journal or a book and now I can do
this right or folks that said you know
what I really need to get practice
speaking and delivering a leadership
talk so this is great so think about for
you what are those things you've been
putting off doing maybe you keep a list
in your phone I know I have a little
notes section in my cell phone where I
keep a list of the projects and
initiatives that I want to tackle this
year what are those things for you that
are on your bucket list and can you see
yourself doing them now because I will
tell you those could be the very key to
unlocking the door for you to see that
you are exactly where you need to be and
that you have an even bigger game in the
world to play and sometimes it takes a
class or it takes uh accountability
partner like the students in my class
they have a timeline when they need to
finish this it's like built into their
class it's an assignment and I know
that's helping some of them say finally
I can do this there's the structure to
get it done so go and take a look at
that bucket list the goals that you have
is it writing a book is it starting a
blog is it starting a company a side
business getting a website together
right figuring out what that signature
talk is or what that contribution is you
want to make in the world and start
today to do that because you are exactly
where you need to be to to make a
difference for others
