Transcripts
books aren't just Pages filled with text
they're like little mentors guiding us
through life I find that each book is an
opportunity for self-improvement
regardless of the genre of the book you
choose you won't be the same when you
finish it and for every problem you
encounter there is always a book that
can help you find a way through it so
today I'm excited to share with you 10
books I'm adding to my reading list this
year so let's start with the first book
on this list uh which is 101 essays that
we change the way you think by Brianna
west I hope I pronounced the author's
names correctly as the uh title mentions
it's a collection of essays that um talk
about or like bring topics such as
happiness uh relationships uh fear or
mindfulness the essays I found are
really thought-provoking I've already I
think went through a third of it and as
you can see I've highlighted many ideas
it definitely helped me think a lot of
aspects of my life uh so yeah it's a
book that I definitely recommend the
next book in this list is how to talk to
anyone by ly LZ and this book basically
gives you uh tips and tricks uh to start
conversations and to improve your
communication skills if you are someone
like me who tries to improve their
networking skills this is definitely a
book that I recommend sometimes it's not
about what you know but who you know
this next book I'm really excited about
and it is Mastery by Robert Green the
first time I heard uh about this book
was in an episode of Andrew huberman's
podcast where he actually invited the
author and he said that it changed his
life and for me that was actually enough
uh to add this book to this list the
book aims to teach you about um how to
achieve Mastery in excellence in any
field I person personally find that uh
whenever you want to start learning
something new there is always uh a point
where you start feeling frustrated and
you start giving up on yourself
basically uh so what I hope from this
book is to teach me really how to go
through that breaking point and uh
really be a master in any field I would
choose so um yeah from the
recommendations and from the reviews
that I've read about this book um I
think it would definitely deliver so the
fourth book in this list uh is the
courage to be disliked by ishiro kishimi
and uh fumitake Koga I personally picked
up this book um in the hope that it
would help me overcome my tendency to
please others at the expense sometimes
of my own interests this is maybe that
could resonate with some of you as well
the book basically aims to teach you
that uh in order to be happy you should
accept yourself as you are but also
accept others as they are which sounds
wise uh so yeah I'm really excited to
start reading this book this year
another book that I'm really excited
about is um the science of Storytelling
by Will store one skill that I have been
always fascinated about is how to tell
great stories storytelling is not always
about entertaining but it's also a
powerful tool for teaching um learning
and also uh connecting with others so
when researching the best book that I
could find uh on this topic I found uh
this one it has really great reviews so
I'm really looking forward to learning
from it so the next book uh on this list
is the mountain is You by Brianna vist
again this book is actually about
self-sabotage have you ever found
yourself in a state where you know how
to change a bad behavior you have but
you never feel like you can uh make
yourself do it this book is about that I
have read so many good reviews about it
and it has been recommended to me many
times so I'm really happy uh that I got
the chance to to read it uh this year
and book number seven in this list is
reality transerfing by VIN zand a
nutshell it's a philosophical book that
uh introduces the concept of trans
surfing as and explains it as um a model
of viewing the word and also uh
controling it so basically the idea of
it is that um if you want to choose or
like if you want a happy life you don't
have to fight for it or like struggle
for it but you can just easily choose it
I'm not sure if it makes a lot of sense
from what I've read so far it really
opens your mind to to a different uh
perspective of the word and this is
something that personally I love very
much um in books so yeah um give it a
try number eight in this list is women
who run with the Walls by Dr Clarissa
Pinola Estes this book contains stories
and myths about strong powerful women it
actually lets you ReDiscover this and
trained and wild uh aspects of the women
psyche I personally person Al love very
much reading stories about strong
capable women um as a woman myself so
I'm really looking forward to digging
into this the next two and final books
are actually novels I personally find
that reading fiction instead of
non-fiction um at night is very relaxing
um so yeah let's start with the first
one lessons in chemistry by Bonnie Gus
and the story is about a brilliant
scientist um who after a failed and
frustrating academic uh career will find
success um in uh hosting a cooking show
this actually was a recommendation from
someone who really loved it so I am
happy to give it a try the second novel
and the final book in this list is Sula
by Tony Morrison it follows the life of
a young black girl called Sula who in
the face of adversity will become a
strong strong and determined woman I
personally love stories uh where the
characters go through challenges and
along the way build great personalities
I find that it gives you yourself as a
reader um the courage uh to face your
own uh challenges and issues so I'm
really looking forward to reading this
book from the reviews I read um
Morrison's style is excellent so um yeah
I'm also happy to discover it for the
first time and that's basically it for
today would love to hear what you
thought about this book list and if you
have any other recommendation please let
me know in the comment section thanks
everyone for watching and I will see you
in next video bye
