🐐 Introduction to Bayu's Farming Journey
Bayu introduces himself as the owner of 78 Farm in Yogyakarta, specializing in goat and sheep farming. Over the past eight years, he has faced challenges, particularly with animal feed, which makes up about 70% of farming costs. Initially, Bayu bought feed, but soon realized the benefits of becoming self-sufficient by growing his own grass, such as Pakchong and Gama Umami. These fast-growing varieties have significantly helped his farm's productivity. He rents about 9 hectares of non-productive land to grow the grass, converting barren areas into productive fields.
🌿 The Benefits of Grass Cultivation
Bayu explains how growing grass on rented land has become a secondary source of income for his farm. Farmers with their own land can benefit even more by growing grass like Pakchong and Gama Umami. These varieties are chosen because of their rapid growth, adaptability, and easy maintenance. He outlines the importance of proper land preparation, irrigation, and fertilization to ensure optimal growth. The process includes using compost and animal manure, highlighting that irrigation is crucial to prevent overwatering during the rainy season and maintain moisture during dry spells.
🚜 Efficient Grass Management for Livestock Feed
Bayu details the harvesting and management process of the grass. The first harvest is at two months, followed by regular harvesting every 1.5 months to maintain peak nutritional value. The grass should be cut close to the ground and immediately fertilized after harvest. Bayu emphasizes the importance of drying the grass for six hours to reduce moisture content before feeding it to livestock. The grass is then chopped to manageable lengths for the animals. He highlights the advantage of the grass’s high yield and how it helps in reducing the overall cost of feed, benefiting the growth and health of the animals.

sendiri ini sekarang sudah menjadi
tambahan income yang menurut saya
lumayan banget ini bisa menjadi
pendapatan sampingan parah peternak
[Musik]
Halo teman-teman semuanya apa kabar
Salam kenal saya Bayu saya pemilik 78
Farm Yogyakarta
saya bergerak di bidang usaha ternak
kambing ternak domba dan saat ini punya
profesi baru yaitu petani rumput nah
alamat kami di Kelurahan Sumberarum
Kecamatan Moyudan Kabupaten Sleman
Yogyakarta saya
yang menjalani usaha ternak kambing
domba kurang lebih sampai saat ini baru
delapan tahun memang banyak Lika likunya
Ketika saya menjalani menseriusi usaha
ini salah satu yang paling berat saya
rasakan saudara kambing domba itu adalah
pakan nah pakan ini kalau di usaha
ternak kambing domba memang komposisinya
sekitar 70% dari keseluruhan biaya
Sebelumnya saya lebih banyak beli pakan
tapi ketika saya kalkulasikan ternyata
ada sesuatu yang menarik untuk saya coba
yaitu saya harus Swasembada pakan
hijauan fungsinya untuk mencukupi
kebutuhan ternak kambing domba di
kandang saya salah satunya yang saya
kembangkan rumputnya seperti yang di
belakang ini turun ada dua varian yang
saya kembangkan besar-besaran ada rumput
pakchong dan rumput Gama Umami saya
rasakan memang sangat membantu untuk
pemenuhan
lupakan di tandang karena ini tumbuhnya
cepat panennya banyak
Ketika saya mau Swasembada pangan
hijauan Itu tantangan terbesar waktu itu
adalah lahan Akhirnya saya mulai sewa
sewa lahan 500meter 1000 m dan saat ini
kurang lebih Ketika saya sudah serius
menjadi petani rumput itu kurang lebih
sudah sekitar sembilan hektar semuanya
sewa bukanlan pribadi yang saya Sewa
adalah mayoritas lahan yang tidak
produktif memang lahan yang sudah lama
tidak diolah atau lahan yang awalnya itu
hanya Ilalang kemudian saya olah saya
pupuk irigasinya saya atur ulang supaya
bagus irigasinya kemudian saya mulai
Tanami rumput pakchong dan rumput gamau
Mami
di sisi lain adalah numpak cengkrama
Umami ini selain untuk kebutuhan kandang
sendiri ini sekarang sudah menjadi
tambahan income yang menurut aja lumayan
banget ini bisa menjadi pendapatan
sampingan parah peternak jadi dengan
sewa lahan pun masih untung apalagi
kalau kita memanfaatkan lahan sendiri
nilai teman-teman punya lahan sendiri
kemudian ditanami rumput ini untuk
kebutuhan ternak sendiri atau bahkan
untuk dijual itu pasti lebih untung saya
yang sewa saja untung kok apalagi yang
teman-teman kalau punya langsung diri
kemudian ditanami itu pasti lebih untung
Kenapa kok saya milihnya dua jenis
rumput ini karena mereka memang
pertumbuhannya cepat mereka mudah
beradaptasi di berbagai kondisi lahan
yang tentu saja memang awalnya sudah
kita setting Ya sudah kita setting untuk
subur dan mereka perawatannya pun mudah
sekali hasil panennya banyak
membela teman-teman mau budidaya rumput
Pak Jon kantung ke mau mami ini
langkah-langkah yang harus
adalah harus dipupuk dasar pupuk dasar
yang paling bagus menurut saya adalah
pakai kompos dan nanti bisa dicampur
dengan Ko Itu kotoran hewan kalau sudah
diuk pastikan irigasinya baik Jadi
irigasinya ini nanti akan sangat
menentukan ketika musim kemarau itu
untuk irigasinya pengairan dan ketika
musim penghujan itu untuk memastikan
bahwa
airnya akan tuntas jadi karakter
rumput-rumput budidaya seperti ini dia
tidak mau tergenang air dan tidak mau
terlalu kering tanahnya jadi harus
agak-agak
basah-basah nya bukan bahaya menggenang
ya yang ditanam dari rumput budidaya ini
adalah stek batang nya terus kita
tancapkan ke tanah jarak tanamnya bisa
3030 atau 40 kali empat puluh senti satu
titik tanam bisa satu Bisa dua bisa tiga
silahkan saja kalau sudah tumbuh sekitar
10-15 cm si istri pupuk lanjutan kalau
yang alamiah biasanya saya pakai urin
dari kotoran kambing domba Kemudian saya
semprotkan ke tanaman nya ini nanti akan
sangat membantu pertumbuhan dari
rumputnya
[Musik]
Hai
untuk panen pertama adalah dua bulan
panen berikutnya satu setengah bulan itu
wajib dipanen karena umur satu setengah
bulan itu umur Puncak kandungan
nutrisinya panen pertama harus dua bulan
karena
ceebith awal itu harus Menumbuhkan akar
dahulu
seperti yang di belakang saya ini ini
umur 1 bulan ini umur 1 bulan ini
tingginya kurang lebih juga sudah sudah
dua meteran nah ini nanti begitu dipanen
panennya mepet ke tanah itu harus
langsung dipupuk jadi mau punya bisa 23
hari sesudah panen itu haruslah dipupuk
pupuknya pakai apa ya pakai kompos
kompos tadi jadi kita dengan budidaya
rumput ini kita bisa sangat menghemat
dalam perawatan bulanannya kalau mau
hasilnya baik panen 25 30 kilo per meter
persegi maka Ah tidak boleh telat
untukmu Kok begitu telat mupuk maka
hasil panennya akan kurang maksimal
sesudah dipanen rumput ini harus
dilayukan dulu kurang lebih minimal 6
jam tujuannya untuk mengurangi kadar
airnya ketika sudah dikurangi kadar
airnya maka kemungkinan untuk pembungkus
pada ternak ini akan lebih kecil ketika
sudah 6 jam rumput ini harus dicacah
Caca hanya nanti bisa manual pakai Sabit
pakai parang ataupun pakai mesin
kendalanya hanya ketika musim penghujan
airnya terlalu banyak ini
masalah-masalahnya balik ke situ
irigasinya atau ada angin yang besar
angin yang besar nanti dia akan roboh
roboh pun tidak mati ketika di musim
kemarau Ini masalah utamanya ada di air
jadi pastikan lahan yang untuk tanam
rumput ini bisa terakses oleh air kalau
untuk mama yang lain tikus segala macem
gak begitu enggak begitu mengganggu
Untuk biaya perawatannya Jujur saja
tidak terlalu mahal Karena aku punya ya
kita ambilkan dari kandang jadi kita
panen rumput-rumput nya kita bawa ke
kandang untuk makan ternak-ternak nya
nanti akan memproduksi kotoran-kotoran
nya kita balikkan lagi kewalahan
kotorannya mau langsung diaplikasikan
boleh atau mau difermentasi dulu itu
lebih bagus untuk kambing domba dengan
diberikan pakan berupa rumput budidaya
ini maka dia kebutuhan pakannya akan
tercukupi kebutuhan basic kebutuhan
dasarnya dia akan tercukupi nah memang
tidak tidak serta-merta cukup hanya
diberikan pakan rumput pakchong ataupun
rumput Kama umumnya atau jenis rumput
lainnya ya hanya saja ibarat manusia
kita makan nasi lauk segala macem ini
nasinya ini nasinya artinya ketika
nasinya cukup kita tinggal mengupayakan
untuk hadirnya lauk kalau nasinya tidak
cukup saja nanti pertumbuhan ternaknya
pun juga akan kurang dengan Nazi yang
cukup bah Hai berlebih maka ternak
kebutuhan dasar pakainya sudah tercukupi
jadi rumput patung dan rumput gak mau
mami ini bagi kami sangat-sangat
membantu dan ini bisa menjadi solusi
bagi peternak peternak lain temen-temen
mungkin yang beternak entah itu kambing
domba atau sapi gila akan menanam jenis
rumput budidaya karena itu memang akan
sangat membantu aktivitas para peternak
untuk pemasarannya paling mudah adalah
supply kepada temen-temen peternak
Karena tidak semua peternak mempunyai
ketertarikan untuk nampakkan misalnya
sibuk di pekerjaan utama atau enggak
punya lahan atau carilan sewa enggak
dapat-dapat akhirnya mereka tetap butuh
pakan dan itulah kesempatan kita untuk
suplai kepada mereka Saya yakin tidak
akan semua peternak
cara menjalankan
program Swasembada pakan hijauan kok
karena kendalanya memang tiap-tiap
peternak berbeda nah ini kesempatan
untuk kita para
Hai petani rumput untuk mendapatkan
income tambahan dengan
Hai suplai pakan hijauan kepada mereka
baik teman-teman semuanya hah apabila
temen-temen mau lebih detil lagi
mengetahui informasi mengenai tanaman
rumput budidaya
pakchong dan ga mau mami ini silahkan
temen-temen sesudah menyaksikan video
ini sampai selesai bisa berkunjung ke
channel kami di channel 78 Farm
Yogyakarta kami ada banyak video
mengenai tutorial
penanamannya
perawatannya fanen bahkan pengolahannya
menjadi pakan simpan yaitu nanti
wujudnya silase ataupun fermentasi dari
bahan bakunya rumput pakchong dan rumput
