Transcripts
hi everyone it's lovely to see you
lately stealthy wood has been growing so
much that to deal with the increase of
demand we need to implement a
manufacturing process it's exciting
isn't it after some investigation we
found out that many companies use up to
10 different apps to transform raw
materials into a final product but this
sounds way too expensive and time
consuming for us also the cost to
maintain all these solutions would be
way too high but when we looked into
odus manufacturing we decided that it
was all we needed all processes
integrated into one modern user-friendly
and affordable solution
as our manufacturing activity is still a
baby we will start with some easy steps
first we will create a manufacturing
order and a work order manufacturing
orders are created by the foreman who
can also check the components
availability and then plan the product
manufacturing
finally the work orders are forwarded to
the manufacturing operators so let's
open stealthy woods database to see how
this works all right here i am on my
database now considering my sales and
inventory levels i would like to
manufacture a desk combination and i
have all of the components in stock
which is going to help us be on time for
our deliveries so let's go ahead and
jump to the manufacturing application
now first of all i we have our dashboard
view which as you can see is very clear
and easy to understand we simply have
our manufacturing orders here
and the first thing we're going to need
to be sure that we have in order to
produce the product is a bill of
materials where all of the required
components are registered so let's jump
to products
bills of materials and you're going to
see that i have several created for
various products including my desk
combination so let's click on that
now for this product specifically i need
three components in order to produce it
and on these components if i select and
go to that item i have activated the
root by which is underneath the
inventory tab here and i've done that
for all of the components that are part
of this bill of material
now to create a bill of material it's
super simple we just have to click on
the create button at our product and
also the components it takes in order to
manufacture that product and we're going
to talk about this in more detail in
another video so be sure you check it
out
so since i already have my bom
which is bill of material created for
the desk combination we're going to go
ahead and jump in and create a
manufacturing order for this item so i'm
going to go to operations manufacturing
orders click on create and of course the
first thing i'm going to do is to add my
product desk combination
and once i add the item the related bill
of material is going to be added
automatically and of course the
components that are part of that bill of
material
so let's go ahead and save this and then
we are going to confirm
now once this manufacturing order is
confirmed it's going to show us if we
have those uh components available or
not so underneath reserved i see that
all of my components are available
because first of all it says that and
it's also green if they were unavailable
it would stay unavailable and the line
would be in red now to reserve these
items against the manufacturing order i
simply have to click on check
availability and we'll see that they are
going to be reserved against the
manufacturing order if i have some items
that are available but not others you
can still go ahead and reserve the
available items and then later on once
you purchase the items that are
unavailable from your supplier you can
reserve those
as well after the fact
okay but since i have all my components
and we're ready to go let's go ahead and
click on plan
alright so i have this planned i can
click on unplanned if i need to
but
what if i have several work centers and
i also need to use a timer for this
flow as well well we can manage that of
course we're going to go to
configuration settings
and activate the option work centers or
work orders excuse me
i'm going to activate work orders which
is also going to activate the timer
option by default and then we're going
to click on save
and once these options are enabled my
pending manufacturing orders will then
be turned into work orders and let's
jump back to our dashboard here we're
going to see that several work sensors
have also been created
since we have that
option enabled and i'm also going to
talk about this in detail in another
video as well so once again be sure you
check that out but for now let's jump
back to our manufacturing order so
operations manufacturing orders and desk
combination here so now that that option
is activated from the settings we have a
new tab work orders so here i can see
the operation the work center the
scheduled start date expected duration
as well as the real duration
which will start once we click on the
start button of course and that's going
to change the status of this work order
as well
all right and that's going to record the
real duration so it uses the timer to
record how long it actually takes us in
order to produce this item
all right and if i need to
go on a break or do whatever i need to
do i can always click on pause and come
back
and i can manage everything from here as
well if i want to but let's imagine that
your workers want to
use a tablet they can absolutely do that
we have a nice tablet view so i'm going
to click on this button right here all
right where i'll see my instructions and
then i'll be able to do the same things
that i was before such as pause the time
if i need to i can click on continue i
see the time ticking here if i click on
these three little dots i also have some
other options such as to block this
to scrap a component or even to add a
component
so i have those options here
but left for now let's go ahead and mark
this as done so i'm going to say that i
have produced one unit which is what
we're expecting and i can either mark
this as done or mark it as done and
close the manufacturing order so in this
case i'm just going to mark as done
all right there are no more work orders
to do but let's jump back to the
manufacturing orders
all right i see it's now in the stage to
close we're going to jump back to the
work orders tab quickly and i will show
you how we can actually keep track or
see exactly what time was spent so i see
the real duration was 53 seconds and if
i click here
we're going to see several lines so
every time we click on pause a new line
is going to be added here so we can
really keep track of how we're spending
our time
and i also will be able to access the
instructions from here as well
so let's go ahead and close this and
let's mark this manufacturing order as
done
all right so i can go ahead and do that
and you're going to see that i now have
some smart buttons here
which i can take advantage of
and i'm going to check out my
traceability first
and this is where i'm going to be able
to see all the stock moves before during
and after the production
which is super useful and then we also
have another really nice
smart button the cost analysis another
report here for this manufacturing order
which is going to give me an overview of
how much the production actually cost me
and that will include the components but
also the cost of the operation so
the cost of the operator even
which is once again a super useful
information to have
now this product is ready and
we can go ahead and sell it and i also
now know how to manage a simple
manufacturing flow which means that i
can go ahead and move on to more
complicated flows such as those related
to advanced bills of materials or
work centers management so trust me
people have not heard the last of
stealthy wood that's all for this video
thank you for watching and if i don't
see you good afternoon good evening and
good night
