What we think about first is for students to come to campus, they add so much culture,

they add a lot of value as they integrate with other students, but I think what people

often don't think about is what the international students bring to the domestic population.

In a lot of universities in the US you have students who've never travelled abroad,

now they're sitting in a class with a student from Indonesia, from China, from Brazil, and

that education for them, that enrichment, is incredibly powerful, and we see when a

college is truly integrated, it thrives culturally and academically

I think studying in the USA is still the American Dream for so many kids around the world, they grow up as little

children thinking about that American Dream of studying in one of the fifty states, and

I think for a lot of them it's the opportunity to sit in the US education system. It's the

opportunity to be in a place where they can thrive and grow and develop and most

importantly now they can also stay and work. I think that idea of the academic experience

and the work experience is something that they think about as small children.

The students also enjoy the community engagement and the campus engagement; there's over 350 university

clubs and organisations that students can join and they find that it's very easy to

interact and join up with other Americans. We do this across a number of major markets,

so we have institutions across from the US and Canada, to Europe, the UK, of course down

to Australia. We have been very proud of our relationship with Study Group, we believe

that this kind of program is very important for preparing students from other countries

to be successful in the classes and other academic activities here at James Madison

University. We have diversity of institutions- so smaller colleges and universities that

maybe want a more managed enrolment plan, to very large universities that are enrolling
