Transcripts
the first thing we're going to do is
we're going to mount the workpiece in
the vise device control precise as home
sports
parallels in there and we're gonna
Center grow so sooner girls come in
several sizes you wanna find one that's
the most appropriate you definitely
don't want to have one that is or larger
then in your start drill so I'm using a
number for the center girl they have
numbers arranged from multiple zero to
six getting small to larger this is
smaller than the larger and to change
the RPM of this one you have to change
the bells and this right now is running
at its lowest speed and that's not
something I need so I'm going to go over
the decide here and show you how to
change the belts so that you can change
the RPM
now one of the things you want to make
sure you do before you work on anything
is you want to move all of your jewelry
you can't have any Nexus dangling make
sure your hair is tight back if you got
watches take them off and if you're
wearing rings definitely take them off
because you don't want anything to get
caught in the machine while it's running
because it could injure you severely now
in this chart
it has different model numbers SP 32 is
what this one is SP 32 says that it can
go you can adjust your belts to 270 rpm
up to 200 mm 290 re and doing the math
[Applause]
depending speed we're going to be a lot
faster than the fastest this can go so
we're going to go ahead and set it at
the fastest level to do that you want to
make sure all of your powers off you can
even hit the emergency power button if
you wanted to not to move these you've
got a little lock here on this side and
also on the opposite side so just reach
around loosen that and then you can use
this lever to move this pulley forward
go ahead and it's easiest to work be
really careful you don't get your
fingers caught underneath there go ahead
take this one completely off because
what this chart is saying is I need to
set it ahead pull each 3m pulley for
pulley three is down here on the bottom
and pulley four at the top
so what I'm going to do is moving from
the larger to the smaller first give it
a little shove and spin and that will
drop into that groove and move this one
so now that is on pulley three I'm gonna
put this one back on for spin and then
shove this arm back maintain pressure
you want to tighten this one reach over
to the other side tighten that set screw
and now when you turn this on and may
always make sure this is closed when you
turn that on
it's running the fastest Arpita
when you stop it to stir it to stop
position wait for it stop don't reach up
here you'll get in a hurry reach over
grab it because it could still injure
you to grab hold so
go ahead and center drill in there with
the key
I've seen people insist that you have to
move all three you don't that system
hold still they believe tight is tight
now I've got a little bolt Tina bull so
what I'm going to do is bring this down
and disposition this letting that center
drill fit in that center punch hole now
turn the spindle on
[Music]
and I'm going to hold this down
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
and what I wasn't showing you before
because we're so close is when I was
drilling I'm moving into position and
then tighten this down just finger tight
that's enough to keep it from popping up
and I'll see using my hand to hold it
so for these first holes I'm gonna drill
it with a 2564 drill and then rainbow
with a 3/8 reamer you want usable tap
magic now one thing I see is people use
way too much in this just a couple of
drops enough to dissolute rotate the
drill you're not cooling it with it
you're just lubricating and you'll
notice I can't get my drill in here
because I don't have it so back that out
just a little bit further so you can see
what I'm doing there is a couple of
blocks on this backside loosen those and
then there's a crank you can lower this
down get our drill in there vice well
double check make sure we got enough
room for our reamer you still don't
let's lower that down a little bit more
now we can get our reamer in there
let's go ahead girl back in tighten that
up could you drop some cat magic out
there and we'll go ahead and drill this
hole
I usually just come in the night start
with and I can tighten this up
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
[Music]
you notice all that only put this a
little bit of cat magic on
[Applause]
[Music]
Peck drilling let's get all the way
through back out shut that down
[Music]
Reimer and there we go
[Music]
the whole and I just focused a little
bit by this knob up here
like
at manager there
[Applause]
through one smooth movement
back out that hole is green
[Music]
so put some rain we're back in its case
that way it stays good sharp put these
away now we're moving on to the second
drill which we're going to drill through
the five sixteenths and then ultimately
we're going to tap with eight three
eight sixteen so here's the five
sixteenths girl it's always good to
double check to make sure it's got an
engraved inside five sixteenths and this
also is through-hole so we'll find that
position
[Applause]
[Music]
so the next thing we're going to do is
we're going to at least start the tap
we're going to you know the print calls
out a counter set on this whole and what
it's saying is a 8.43 diameter and
counter sink
0.43 is about 7/16 and as it seems is
four through seven so I'm going to take
my scale and set it to 16 and I'll
measure that so we'll turn this on but
I'm going to go ahead and turn it down
so wait
[Music]
make sure there
you read
[Music]
so we are only at 5/16 right now we're
barely at 3/8
[Music]
okay about another 1670 inch to come out
[Music]
there
[Music]
and
[Applause]
Oh
I am right at 7/16 there so I'm going to
stop that senator girl how to send our
hunter sink out and
but the tap it and I'm not going to do
all the tapping here I'm just gonna get
started so I've got the tap in there
pretty tight I'm not going to turn it on
I'm going to put my check key in this
way tighten down this nut so it doesn't
move and now I can run my tap through
there you see this key I will get a
couple of terms so that when we come
over to the workbench to actually tap it
will do the tap in my hand
we've got something to start so started
that I've got a couple of threads and
that's enough so then we get over on the
table we'll make sure that our tap
starts straight
and that's just a little trick and we'll
do the same thing with this next one the
next hole we're going to drill a tap for
a quarter twenty eight
and that uses
and you do that
you're going to do the math for yourself
so until the check drill charts at the
number three drill that I'm going to put
there but it doesn't go all the way
through you've got a specific depth that
it calls out I'm going to drill this
hole hole about 7/8 deep so what we'll
do is we'll bring this down until the
drill touches on a flat part the head
now this and that
come down attention and we'll move up
yes there's marks on here
so
we move it to the seven eight mark
we can tighten it up then what'll happen
is we move this out of the way so we can
see all of it just this see see him
doing so now when I move this down it
will stop when it gets to zero your stop
ascent it will not drink through the
drum you know little further limited
here in the front see that it stops the
poor drilling all the way through so
what we'll do is move this back into
position over that Center drilled hole
[Applause]
you know this you can't adjust power
adjustment here
[Music]
it should normally run at about 6:00
[Music]
[Applause]
zero it has cut always true so
our seven eight
they drill out
[Music]
and it's asking for
a 280,000 countersink which unless
you're on there 280 is about nine thirty
seconds so I'll switch over to the 30
seconds side
we're about there anyway from the sand
room which isn't a countersink but this
point
war
so we're gonna do the exact same thing
with this as you did the other one and
what this does is ensures loosen is now
so that this will ensure that
your threats are square in your block
like I said the other one I was going to
go 3 4 threads
[Music]
and now we are done on the drill press
take this out take a part out and the
last thing we wanted to horses we'll
clean this off sweep up our mess and
move over to the table
you
