de Balzac avant la révolution puis une particule viendra s'accoler en transformant le patronyme en
de Balzac à partir de 1802. Honoré de Balzac est l'aîné de quatre enfants. Il a deux soeurs : Laure
et Laurence, ainsi qu'un frère Henri-François, fils adultérin du côté de sa mère. Il sera placé
en nourrice jusqu'en 1803. Rejeté par sa mère, il souffrira du manque d'amour maternel. En 1807,
il entre au collège des oratoriens à Vendôme où il restera pendant six ans. Il évoquera ces années
