Q & A
Why is it challenging for new creators to reach 4,000 watch hours on YouTube?
-It's challenging because if a new creator makes 10-minute videos with an average of 100 views per video and 30% audience retention, it would take approximately 800 videos to reach 4,000 watch hours, which at a rate of one video per week, would take over 15 years.
What is the suggested secret to grow a YouTube channel faster and reach the 4,000 watch hour mark?
-The secret is to create a 12-video strategy using a method that involves analyzing successful videos from other channels within the same niche and replicating their proven concepts of thumbnail, title, and video topic idea.
Why is it important for a creator to have a strategy when posting videos?
-A strategy is important because posting videos without a clear plan on how they will attract views is ineffective. A strategy helps in creating content that can significantly increase views and watch hours, thus growing the channel faster.
What is the purpose of creating a private playlist on YouTube for the 12-video strategy?
-The private playlist is used to save videos from other channels that have performed significantly better than the norm. This helps in analyzing what made those videos successful and using that insight to inform the creation of the 12 videos.
Why should creators focus on creating high-volume content if they cannot produce a lot?
-High-volume content increases the chances of creating videos that perform well, as it's similar to taking many shots in basketball hoping some will score. However, due to limitations like full-time jobs or school, creators should focus on quality and strategy over pure volume.
What should creators look for when selecting videos from other channels to include in their private playlist?
-Creators should look for videos from small channels within their niche that have unusually high views compared to the channel's average, indicating a successful formula that can be analyzed and replicated.
Why is it crucial to ensure that the selected videos for the playlist are not too old?
-Videos should be recent, ideally within the last 6 months to a year, to ensure the topics are still relevant and of interest to the current audience.
What is the key difference between copying and borrowing a successful concept from another video?
-Copying involves replicating the entire video, which is not allowed on YouTube. Borrowing a concept means using the proven formula of thumbnail, title, and topic idea to create original content with a unique spin.
How does audience retention play a role in YouTube's promotion of a video?
-High audience retention indicates that viewers are watching the video for a longer duration, which incentivizes YouTube to promote the video to a broader audience, increasing its visibility and potential views.
What is the recommended approach for creating the 12 videos in the strategy?
-The recommended approach is to batch create the videos by writing all scripts at once, setting up the filming space, and filming multiple videos in one go, followed by batch editing to save time and improve efficiency.
What should creators do if the initial 12-video strategy does not yield the desired results?
-If the first 12 videos do not achieve the desired results, creators should analyze what went wrong, make necessary adjustments, and then create another set of 12 videos applying the learned insights.
Outlines
π² Overcoming the Challenge of Hitting 4,000 Watch Hours
The script addresses the difficulty new YouTube creators face in reaching 4,000 watch hours, a prerequisite for monetization. It explains that achieving this through 10-minute videos averaging 100 views each with 30% retention would take over 15 years if posting one video per week. The speaker introduces a 'game-changing' secret to accelerate growth and emphasizes the importance of a strategic approach over mere consistent posting. The strategy involves creating a 12-video plan to increase the chances of some videos getting significantly more views than usual, thereby reducing the time to reach the watch hour milestone.
π― Leveraging Proven Strategies for YouTube Growth
The speaker outlines a method to grow a YouTube channel rapidly by creating a playlist of 12 videos inspired by successful videos from other, smaller channels within the same niche. The approach involves identifying videos with unusually high views, suggesting they have a winning formula. Creators are advised against copying content but to borrow the concept of successful thumbnails, titles, and topics. The aim is to understand why these videos were successful and to apply similar strategies to create original content that can achieve high viewer retention and engagement, ultimately increasing the chance of hitting the 4,000 watch hour goal more quickly.
π Implementing a Batch Creation Process for Efficiency
The final paragraph discusses the practical steps of implementing the 12-video strategy. It suggests batch creating and editing to save time and improve efficiency, allowing for more in-depth research and idea generation. The speaker encourages posting one or two videos per week, as manageable, and believes that following these steps will significantly increase the view count on some videos. If the initial 12 videos are successful, the creator should continue the process to maintain or increase growth. The paragraph concludes by promoting a sign-up link for a program that offers further insights into YouTube content creation and a potential discount or free access for some participants.

Transcripts
people are going to be a little bit mad
about this but here's why it's so hard
to hit 4,000 watch hours as a new
Creator if you make 10-minute videos and
you average about 100 views per video
with a 30% audience retention pretty
typical stats for a beginner Creator you
know how many videos it would take to
get 4,000 watch hours 800 and if you're
posting one video a week that's just
over 15 years so if you're someone that
wants to get monetized and hit that
4,000 watch hour mark before the next 15
years I have one absolute game Cher of a
secret that I'm going to share with you
today posting videos consistently doing
your absolute best to create the highest
quality content with no results is one
of the worst feelings ever and a large
reason why a lot of creators inevitably
give up but don't give up I have an
amazing method that is going to allow
you to grow in the fastest way it's the
method I used to build this community
and one that I still currently use every
single time I create content this is
going to be the fastest way you can get
to 4,000 watch hours and just grow your
channel in general you need a strategy
posting videos is pointless if you don't
have a clear plan of how it's going to
work and I'm going to share the exact
strategy I used that resulted in my
biggest YouTube growth spurts to this
date we need some of our videos to get
significantly more views than our normal
videos do because you can hit that 4,000
watch hours a hell of a lot quicker with
a few videos rarely taking off than
doing it throughout a bunch of different
videos slowly over time building it up
here's how we're going to do it let's
create a 12 video strategy 12 videos for
now to be fair we're going to keep using
this method probably forever as we grow
our YouTube channels it's something I
still do to this day but let's start off
with 12 by the way this is one of the
techniques that I'll be sharing in my
new program about becoming a successful
YouTuber and in the program I share
everything from film making editing
talking to camera thumbnails and titles
other growth strategies just like this
one and if you want to be a part of the
wait list that is going to get a huge
discount of the initial launch and I'm
even going to pick some people to join
the program for completely free the
weight list link is going to be down
below it's free to sign up and join so
you'll be notified first and receive
that massive discount if it's something
you're interested in check it out in the
link just down there reality is when we
create videos and we want them to
perform well a lot of the time it's a
luck element involved figuring out what
thumbnail and title paired with video
topic idea might work well is pretty
hard it's like playing basketball if
you're really terrible take as many
shots as you possibly can and you hope
that some of them go in so creating a
high volume of content is key but in
reality the majority of us can only
create so much content we have lives we
have other things going on and for a lot
of starter YouTubers you probably have a
full-time job or you fully in school
maybe you have a family whatever it's
unrealistic to go on the pure volume
basis alone so here's how we actually
going to do this jump onto YouTube
create a new playlist a private playlist
call it 4,000 watch hours whatever you
really want now we're going to go and
find other channels preferably
relatively small channels not things
with hundreds of thousands of
subscribers generally like somewhat
beginner small channels is going to be
best within our Niche we are going to
find videos within these other channels
that are performing significantly better
than the majority of their other videos
so maybe we have a channel that has
10,000 subscribers if we look at their
videos their average views per video is
2 or 3,000 but then there's this one
video that's like taken off and it's got
100,000 views or more we're going to
save that video in our playlist go
through channels that you would like to
kind of replicate in your own channel go
within your Niche obviously and make
sure that they align with what you're
trying to create and the community that
you are trying to build as well the
other key thing to note is make sure
it's a video that is not way too old it
needs to be still relevant people need
to still be interested in these topics
now so something from like 3 or 4 years
ago maybe not the best if it's within
the last year or or two definitely
better if it's within the last 6 month
ideal small channels high views that's
the name of the game add all of these
videos to your playlist you created so
that we can come back to them later try
find as many as you can maybe like 20 30
whatever as long as it's more than 12
and you have a couple to pick through
once we've added these videos to our
playlist We are going to go through them
and pick the 12 best videos that we
think will suit our channel that also
have a broader Spectrum it's not all the
exact same video they 12 that we could
post on our own channels that would make
sense and work within our channel that
we want to build we're going to use
other people's hard work to our
advantage they've taken somewhat of the
luck element out of this equation and
they figured out a thumbnail title and
video topic idea combo that obviously
works but they've already proved it by
getting significantly more views on this
specific formula than their other videos
now I want to stress something
incredibly important we are not copying
these people's videos and replicating
them this is YouTube not Instagram and
we don't get supported for directly
copying other people's videos on this
platform like Instagram wink I know
people are going to be upset for that
it's just a joke but don't steal the
idea don't steal their entire video what
we doing here is borrowing their already
proven concept and formula of thumbnail
title and video topic idea we are going
to create our own piece of content that
falls within this formula so what we
want to do is take note of their
thumbnail and title if you're coming up
with video ideas you start with a
thumbnail and title anyways and we want
to take note of why this might have
worked does it create some sort of
curiosity does it create Intrigue is the
video topic uh extremely interesting
that not many other people have made
pieces on we need to figure out as best
as we can why this video was successful
and the winning combo of thumbnail title
and topic why did it work so we need to
analyze that as best of our ability of
course it's still a bit of guesswork but
try and figure out really why this video
took off significantly more than their
other videos obviously if we just
replicate this it doesn't mean that this
video is just going to blow up there's
still a whole lot of other elements that
went into this it could have been picked
up by the YouTube algorithm from
magnitude of different reasons but we're
putting ourselves in the best position
to get a higher view count on these
particular videos by copying a strategy
and formula that has already proven to
work once we've picked our final 12
videos and analyze what the thumbnail
title and topic combo is that making
them a winning formula we're going to
start scripting out our videos now you
still need to create a video to your
absolute best ability we need the people
once they have clicked on on our
thumbnail and title to watch the video
for as long as possible because the
audience retention is going to further
incentivize YouTube to promote that
video to a broader audience so just
having the thumbnail and title combo is
not enough now we've convinced people to
click we need to hold up our end of the
bargain by delivering something that is
worth their while if you want any more
tips on script writing and how you can
create value within your videos there's
going to be a video up here I went a
little more in depth into it you can
check it out after this one next up is
we're going to batch create our 12
videos as fast and in as few batches as
we possibly can if you want to again
learn more about batch creating I also
have a video about that which you can go
and check out but basically instead of
doing one video at a time one video per
day we want to write out all our scripts
in one go set up our filming space in
our studio and then we want to film out
these 12 videos in as few takes as
possible so maybe you can do four videos
in one sitting taking breaks in between
but set up your studio film four videos
that means you could create these 12
videos in 3 days then we move on to the
editing phase and we want to batch edit
all of these videos as fast as we can as
well because once you free up your time
by batch creating we have more time to
do the proper research and come up with
better ideas and we're going to have out
12 video strategy ready to start
publishing and the next step is
obviously to post these 12 videos post
one or two a week as much as you can
keep up with and in my opinion there is
no possible way that if you followed
through these steps properly and all of
these 12 videos have proven successful
on other people's channels there is very
little chance that at least a few of
these videos won't get significantly
more views the majority of your other
videos once you've worked through these
12 videos hopefully you already hit that
4,000 watch hour mark if you haven't or
even if you have create another 12 and
go at it again this is something that
I'm still doing to this day I don't have
to focus as much on replicating other
people's formulas because I have that
subscriber base to support the views
that I need to get on my videos but it's
still a really good technique that if
you want a video to perform a little
better take someone else's hard work and
apply it to your own content and I know
this might be controversial as as long
as you're not stealing or replicating
the actual content with inside that
video topic and you're adding your own
unique spin onto it I think there's
nothing wrong with it so if you want to
learn a whole lot more about creating
YouTube content remember that sign up
link is completely free down there you
can join the weit list and receive a
huge discount or get assigned to the
program for free other than that I hope
this method shows some success have fun
I know it's going to be hard but push
through really play into just doing the
absolute best of your ability and I will
see you guys in the next video hopefully
when you're monetized and you have those
4,000 watch hours have fun bye
