Transcripts
Hello, it's Wahacz.
On the screen you see a Range Rover in a configuration costing almost
PLN 1,500,000.
By spending this kind of money you can expect something extra compared to,
say, ordinary cars.
That's why in this video I will try to show you what makes
a car worth such a lot of money stand out.
The bodywork is definitely one of them.
I'm not only talking about its style, but also about its dimensions, because the Range
Rover is offered in two versions: short wheelbase SWB and long wheelbase LWB.
They mean the length of the car is 505 and 525 cm, respectively.
What you see in the video is a larger variant that is a real road
tank that commands respect.
You can sit in it at the height of delivery vans, but
I must admit it causes problems.
And this is the dark side of owning a luxurious, large SUV, parking
it is a challenge and suddenly many spaces become intimidatingly narrow.
Fortunately, by spending over PLN 1,000,000, you get a parking assistant,
cross traffic warning and very good quality cameras, also offering a
3D view effect and an interesting addition of showing what is under the car.
What happens, of course, programmatically, based on the view from the cameras and the vehicle's movement.
The vertically sloping front and rear also help a bit in maneuvering, but
the dimensions cannot be exceeded.
The Range Rover also attracts attention simply by its design, because the designers
focused here on, let's say, monumental minimalism.
And I admit that they did a good job, because this car simply makes you feel like you're making money.
The test unit is in the top SV version and there is no
additional charge for the white pearl paint. But to have 23-inch rims, you have to spend an extra
PLN 23,660, and the golden accents that add an interesting character are PLN 16,850.
The black roof, in turn, costs PLN 6,530.
The seats are finished with semi-aniline leather and cost PLN 23,040.
But there is much more leather in the cabin, because virtually every
element is made of leather.
The lowest parts of the dashboard, the doors and the headliner at the bottom, even in
the door pockets, have a soft, thin layer of spongy material, so you feel
luxurious and refined wherever you look.
The color combination used is also interesting, because the dominance of two-tone,
light leather is separated by wooden inserts made of cream ash.
We also have a ceramic gear shift knob.
Typically, cars come with either darker or more
contrasting material sets.
And I admit that what was chosen in the tested Range Rover is really interesting, because
first of all it creates a feeling of luxury that is quite unusual in my experience, and
everything is simply tastefully chosen, especially when you compare
the interior with the color of the exterior.
In ordinary cars, you don't find such a hairy and, let's say
carpet, floor finish. And the
Range Rover cabin, thanks to its neutral, simple lines, looks
very good in my opinion.
This style suits this type of car and fits well with the body.
What is also outstanding here is the number of things that can be
controlled electrically.
Few operations require the use of force, for example the steering column
is adjusted with a joystick.
However, the most you can do is with armchairs.
Adjusting the length of the seat, lumbar section and side support are
quite standard, but what is definitely not standard is the ability
to inflate this area around the shoulders, as well as control the headrest,
which will be visible on the passenger seat, because it has exactly the same adjustment as
the driver's and you can adjust this headrest as you wish.
The seats are also equipped with massage.
Maybe not outstanding, but maintaining a high level.
We have different thematic programs, you can adjust the intensity.
There is also heating and ventilation here.
But interestingly, when the heating is turned on, you can not only control
whether the seat or backrest is heated, but you can also turn on
the armrests to heat up.
I've never encountered this before.
This means that this area
is getting slightly warm . And also this one.
The upper part of the armrest can be heated and the contents of the storage compartment
underneath can be cooled.
The seats themselves are very comfortable, with super soft headrests, but apart from the possibility
of configuration, they do not stand out in any particular way.
Such typical designs for a luxury cruiser.
I was disappointed by the short seat, even with
the possibility of adjustment.
Apart from that, I have no complaints, and the finishing is truly top class.
The seats are controlled, as you have seen, from the center screen.
Unfortunately, so do many things.
For example, the air conditioning panel is located here, or the selection of driving modes,
and there is simply too much of it.
These icons on the side are stuffed there.
This is not very convenient.
I would definitely like to see some physical controls here.
I don't believe in saving money on a car that it just wasn't worth it
to make some switches or something. They probably
just wanted to keep it minimalistic here.
Well, it was at the expense of ergonomics, because there is
simply too much of it here.
There's not even a volume control.
This also has to be done using a screen.
This stuffing of functions into the screen is
even more offensive because when I tested this model in the premiere version 2 years ago,
there were physical controls on the central console and they included changing
audio, driving modes or air conditioning, which may be why this area did not look so
smooth, let's say , but it was better in terms of ergonomics.
I regret this change of manufacturer.
Apart from that, the infotainment system is the same as in other Range Rovers.
I miss being able to put a map here.
There is only a shortcut to navigation.
There are various widgets whose order you can control.
There is also a list of applications,
you can find everything related to the operation of the car here.
The settings are also sensibly designed.
These are quick, handy or more advanced.
You can fine-tune many things related to the operation of the car
here.
There are also shortcuts for audio navigation, so overall it's an OK system, just
too many features have been moved to it.
However, the clocks in the tested Range Rover are disappointing
.
I'm not even talking about their information scope or
functionality, because that's OK.
We also have a great quality display here, but I'm talking about the speed
of operation because the response to pressing the buttons is slightly delayed.
For example, when changing the information content,
these animations are not smooth, and yet for this kind of money everything
should run perfectly, but it doesn't.
And someone definitely saved on the processor here.
The operation of the clocks has been solved in an ingenious way, because normally on
the left side we have song changes, telephone control or a programmable
button, and when you press the middle, the arrangement of the buttons changes and
you can fine-tune everything with this new D-pad.
The sound changes here, and on the right side we have primarily
active cruise control controls.
By the way, the partially wood-finished steering wheel is OK.
It's a different experience than full leather steering wheels, but I didn't
have a problem with my hand slipping or
anything like that. So it may be a different experience, but not worse.
Another interesting and definitely not obvious addition for the driver is
the reversing camera washer.
It's time to take a look at what's going on at the back, because there's something specific there too.
There is no need to close the doors, both rear and front, tightly, because
they will close on their own
if necessary . But when the door is open, we
see a real oasis of space and luxury.
It really looks amazing, also because of the color combination,
because interestingly, the rear seats are a different color than the front ones,
which creates a nice effect.
Even more impressive, however, are the features
the Range Rover offers to its rear passengers. Let's start with the door.
We have full electrics here,
interestingly with memory for each seat. It is also possible to adjust the blinds,
independently from the left or right. We have lamps,
either a warmer light for reading or a cooler light for the laptop.
You can control the intensity of this lighting.
You can also adjust the position of the blinds and mute the music.
That's a lot, and it's just a door.
More is happening in the center tunnel, where we have a touch screen,
a real command center. When it comes to seats, you can
heat or ventilate them.
The heating is also very advanced, because you can
additionally heat the footrest.
Of course, the armrests are independently controlled.
We also have a massage, the same as the front in terms of mode, so
I won't show anymore.
And the ability to adjust each area electrically is also here.
You can also control the air conditioning, even the opening rate of the vents, so that no one
has to reach or bend down to the vents.
Air purification can be turned on.
We also have control over atmospheric lighting and
the position of the roof blinds.
Interestingly, even the cup holder has its own electrical adjustment, because when we want
to place a cup, the armrest slides out
and all we need to do is slightly lift
the cover to have cup holders.
And when we have drunk what we had, everything
closes electrically, of course.
The armrest is also opened manually this time.
It has two layers.
The upper one has shallow compartments for some pens and
a branded Range Rover mirror.
And in this deeper layer we have additional storage.
HDMI and USB connectors with very high power of up to 60 W.
HDMI are useful to operate screens that can display either navigation or
some movies from an external source. In order not to disturb other
car users,
each party has their own wireless headphones.
If the armrest is not needed, it can be raised.
Of course, the entire operation happens electrically.
However, if it is abandoned, it will give you the opportunity to do
one more very interesting thing.
Specifically, it allows you to create a real relaxation space on the right side.
On the left side this is necessarily impossible, because the driver has to
drive the car somehow.
But if no one is sitting next to him, such things can happen.
The chair slides and the footrest, also finished with such a soft material, slides out.
There is also an element to support the legs.
Things get amazing then on the right side.
And being driven by a Range Rover, you can travel in such style.
It makes a really amazing impression.
And if you need a seat in the front for a passenger, you don't
have to make an effort, just touch the screen once.
The degree of automation of everything is almost hard to believe.
The trunk is also dominated by buttons that do everything for us.
The upper part of the hatch is, of course, electric, but the lower part
can also be lowered without any effort.
In addition, an electric blind, extending the towbar, lowering or
raising the body, controlling the seats can all be done using
such a control panel.
The list of standard equipment in the SV also includes a Meridian
Signature audio system with 34 speakers and a total of 1,600 W.
I'm not an audiophile, so I admit I won't say whether it sounds warm or
cool or something like that.
Let me just say that he plays very well.
There is a spatial effect,
and this set is not afraid of higher volume.
The first league of sound systems I have ever encountered in cars. On a similar
level to my favorite Bowers & Wilkins from Volvo.
I only regret that the front speakers have such bland housings.
It doesn't look very premium.
The rear is more elegant from this angle.
One of three engines can work under the hood of the SV version. Diesel
3.0 R6 with 350 HP,
a plug-in hybrid also based on a 3-liter inline engine, but with 550 HP petrol, as well as
the flagship 4.4-liter V8 petrol, which in the SV generates as much as
615 HP instead of 530.
So this is huge power, but it has to be combined with a large body
and a mass of 2,800 kg.
The perception of dynamics is also influenced by the setting of the gas pedal, which works like
in a road cruiser, not a sports car, and this translates into
a smoother ride.
This means that when you press the gas pedal, you feel the car's potential, and if you do it
a little harder, it actually pulls you forward.
The ease with which the tested Range Rover gains speed is also very great,
no matter what speed it is.
But usually, when driving normally, you don't feel that over
600 HP under your right foot.
If you want to have sharper characteristics, you can activate the dynamic mode,
but in general, a fairly neutral
tuning of the drive system makes sense here, because due to the weight
of the car, its height and the soft, rocking suspension, the
Range Rover was not created for madness and dynamic cornering and
the fact that I am not tempted to do so is OK for me.
On a straight line, you can achieve impressive dynamics for such a giant,
accelerating even from 0-100 km/h.
Or 90-140 km/h.
The engine also has great flexibility, regardless of the revs, ensuring
appropriate dynamics.
Although I must admit that compared to the old V8 that could be found in the previous
generation of this model, or the Range Rover Sport, this one has a less
satisfying way of working.
That is, the old, naturally aspirated, 5-liter unit accelerated more
naturally because it did not have to rely on the turbo.
It also had a slightly more noble sound.
This does not mean in any way that the 4.4 liter sounds bad, because here we have a bass and
elegant rumble that is really pleasant to listen to when
accelerating and you definitely feel that something more specific is working under the hood.
In turn, when driving at lower speeds, the engine is practically inaudible, which
is OK, but it could be purring a bit more.
By default, the V8 is paired with an automatic transmission, which
did not make any noise while driving, regardless of the revs.
It changed gears smoothly and quickly, so it could keep up with the engine.
We also have an active rear differential, 4-wheel drive and
height-adjustable suspension.
I didn't dare to drive the car off-road, but you can count on greater
possibilities here than in competing SUVs, which are intended only for
asphalt.
However, I drove the Range Rover on paved roads
in various conditions and in terms of fuel consumption
the car is not bad at all.
It is obvious that a normal owner will not be particularly concerned about this and
a 90-liter tank will be more important, but as a curiosity I will say that in Warsaw
about 13-15 liters of gasoline was needed per 100 kilometers.
On normal roads outside the city, fuel consumption is about 10 liters. The minimum
I managed to squeeze out was 9.5 liters.
At 120 km/h on expressways, fuel consumption was approximately 11 liters.
In all these circumstances, I could count on above-average comfort,
even acoustic comfort, because we have very good insulation from the surroundings, even when driving faster.
Additionally, you don't feel the speed in the Range Rover, which, combined with the aforementioned
ease of acceleration, means that you sometimes have to be careful
and look at the clocks.
In the case of suppressing inequalities, you can also count on spending
PLN 1.5 million at the highest level.
The suspension here is pneumatic and the effect of floating on the road can be achieved
unexpectedly often, even with the presence of 23-inch rims.
And in this respect, you feel you get what you pay for.
The steering system is very neutral and smooth, which is an optimal setup
considering the aforementioned weight, size and rocking suspension.
The car drives OK for its construction.
The Range Rover was simply created to give direction and to
move around in a relaxing way, and it does this job admirably.
You can also expect a lot from the top
Digital LED lights for Range Rovers, which have as many as 1,300,000 independently dimming
points in each lamp to cut out other vehicles and illuminate the rest of the road as much as possible.
And they work very well, but I admit that they work for me
They didn't blow me away like I thought.
This means that compared to matrix lights, they offer a more zero-touch
switching on and off of individual zones, which happens
almost immediately.
Also, the places where the light zone is cut off from the dark zone are very precise and do not have
to be vertical, but it is not an abyss.
And I admit that if I didn't know, in many situations I wouldn't guess that I was driving
in a car with Digital LED and not Matrix LED.
However, this still means a very good level, because in addition to the features mentioned above,
the Range Rover has a computer that responds efficiently to other vehicles, which
creates a great tunnel without delay, and I didn't feel
like I was blinding anyone while driving after dark.
It's a pity that the manufacturer didn't add an infrared camera for PLN 1,500,000
that could work well with lights to detect living creatures.
Certainly, at this price, its presence would not be inappropriate.
It is not available at all in this model.
The exterior front lights have a fairly simple design.
The only fancier solution here are dynamic turn signals.
Of course, we have LEDs everywhere.
The same applies to the turn signals in the side mirrors.
At the rear, the position lights have an original shape.
This part of the body is even more minimalistic than in the front, and overall
it fits the body designed like that of the Range Rover.
There are many decorative lighting elements in the interior of the tested model.
It definitely doesn't have to be gloomy here.
The footwells are always white, but other areas can be
adjusted in color independently of one part and the other.
The on-board instruments were illuminated in the optimal
white color , taking into account these decorative elements
. There are no shortcomings here
when it comes to lighting.
The most unusual way of lighting the tester is
the illumination of the place where the seat belts are fastened.
The rear part of the cabin is also richly illuminated.
It's time to tell you exactly how much everything I showed costs.
We are talking about the price for the test unit amounting to PLN 1,443,820.
Of which PLN 89,520 are extras. However , the amount of almost PLN 100,000
consists of only a few elements, most of which I have already
replaced, i.e. the seat finishing, larger rims or gold accents on
the outside, and the prices of these options are huge, but proportional to the amount
you have to pay for the entire car. .
And that's the way to look at them.
In turn, when you pay PLN 1,354,300 for the SV version with
V8, you automatically get the best
technological equipment intended for this model.
And this is to be praised.
Apart from unique elements such as electric seats at the front and rear, which
I showed, the Range Rover has everything you need from the usual things
like active cruise control, keyless entry and things like that.
The tested Range Rover is an extremely luxurious and expensive proposition, in the case
of which full automation, especially in the rear, will not be necessary for everyone.
And when looking for an SUV of this brand simply for driving, rather than being driven, a
more interesting and reasonable option may be, for example,
the Range Rover Sport, which I once tested.
The link to the video is in the top corner of the screen.
Then you also get a lot of luxury, but for, let's say, "only" PLN 500,000
, with a 3.0 250 HP diesel.
You can also have such a car for PLN 6,267 net per month,
in the offer of Wahacz TV's partner, Car Lease Polska.
With 20% down payment, 4-year leasing period and 30% final purchase.
Additionally, by entering the code 'zawaczfree' in the order notes on the website, you can get
a bonus in the form of a free replacement of the selected car.
I included a link to the offer and the code in the video description.
To sum up, for PLN 1,500,000 in the case of the Range Rover you get
a truly unique car. In terms of operation or dials,
this model may be disappointing, but the comfort, quality of materials, what happens
on the back seat and finally the engine are fantastic.
I was particularly impressed by the rear part of the body, as far as it is concerned, it is clean
driving experience for the driver, there is no gap between the tested
Range Rover and the big premium words that don't cost that much.
But the luxury you can find in the second row is inimitable, because there
you can really feel like a king.
And that's all I have prepared about this very expensive Range Rover.
Thank you for your attention and I hope you enjoyed his test.
If so, I encourage you to give this video a thumbs up.
I will be very happy about this.
I would like to remind those interested about Car Lease Polska and their offer.
If anyone doesn't have it, I also invite you to subscribe to the channel, because more
materials on Wahacz TV will appear soon.
See you.
