senior year is pretty much over I don't
really have any school work left but I
love to engage my brain because I like
to identify as a lifelong learner so I'm
going to be studying Theology and
language learning in today's video and I
first want to thank you lingoda for
sponsoring this video they are a
language learning platform and I'll get
into them later in this video when I
take my Spanish classes but right now
we're going to start with a Bible study
I want to show you guys what I'm
currently studying this is my beautiful
Bible I'm actually going to be buying a
new one soon but it is a NIV journaling
Bible I'll show you guys what it looks
like on the inside I tried to make a lot
of annotations and highlight a lot of
stuff you can see that you have the
Bible text on the inside and then on the
outside there's space to make notes I
also make a lot of notes in my notebook
it's just this light pink color and on
the back I have a wildf flower sticker
it says love you very much super cute
the sticker actually came with this
phone case that I bought this Berry one
adorable but before I start my Bible
study I'm just going to start it with
some worship and prayer so I can prepare
my heart mind and soul to be able to
understand what God's word is going to
say to
[Music]
me the game plan is to study chapter 4
for the next I'll give myself 15 minutes
this is what my laptop looks like the
case is so coet my brother actually got
it for me recently I swear having cute
study supplies makes everything so much
better to study Song of Songs chapter 4
I'm going to be listening to a sermon
about it that's going to be breaking it
down and then as I receive Revelations
I'm going to be making notes about them
but before I need to start I need to
catch up with like my banking let me do
this
[Music]
first my 15minute timer just ran and I
pretty much got through most of chapter
4 and now I'm going to do some research
on a specific theological concept and
I'm going to take some notes in my
notebook and if I have any questions I
might text like a spiritual leader at my
church to see what their opinions on
this topic
[Music]
is today I completed a very chill Bible
study but my main focus for today is
going to be studying Spanish I just
booked a class with lingoda it's about
how to invite people to a party and how
to accept or decline the invitation I
would love to study abroad in a Spanish
speaking country or a Portuguese
speaking country while I wait for the
class to start I'm going to watch some
Vlogs in Spanish this is one of my
favorite ways to learn Spanish I learn
Portuguese or Chinese is to watch Vlogs
in that target language because it's
really enjoyable for me to watch but
also I can just have a lot of fun doing
it like it's one of the most fun ways to
learn a language I'd say o this girl
looks cute some days in my life this is
what I do and there's nothing I need to
do I turn language reactor on and pretty
much it gives the span Spanish and
English and then here's what I do to
keep track of the vocab I have a Spanish
notion page and I add in a new word so
let's say I want to
add which is completely this is how I
add
it I want to talk to you guys about all
the languages I'm learning and how much
effort I'm putting into each one so my
first priority is Mandarin I'm going
back to China in literally a week so I'm
preparing for that and then it's
Portuguese and then it's Spanish
sometimes I think about like what
language I like speaking the most I feel
like I thought it was Portuguese but
Loki I think Spanish like every language
sounds beautiful but Spanish sounds
really
beautiful grammar might have been wrong
but I tried okay okay I'm going to watch
a vlog and write down the new
[Music]

to book a group class it is so easy to
join and I love the group class format
at lingoda I just feel like being in a

in a smaller group environment so I'm

high school classroom also there are

about
$638 guys I just put up that poster
above my bed and I lowy feel like it
adds so much to the room good afternoon
today I am doing a new Bible study and
I'm doing a Bible study specifically
about not seeking external validation
from others this is something I've
struggled with a lot I was having a
conversation with one of my friends
about it I was like why do I seek so
much validation from others I think part
of the reason is just growing up making
videos on the internet part of my job is
seeking validation from others I
definitely still have insecurities about
myself that I want to work through but I
first want to attack this issue by
reading the word of God I think that's
really where the answer lies although
there's great advice online about
selflove I genuinely don't think that
I'm going to find that validation Within
Myself I think that it's going to come
from God and in turn if it's coming from
God the ultimate source then I think I
myself will be able to feel more
validated but I don't really believe in
the whole cons finding validation in
yourself I don't really know what that
means I guess that means recognizing
your own worth but the way I see it is I
recognize that I have worth because I'm
a daughter of God and that's how I find
validation so we're going to be studying
two specific passages I literally asked
Chad TPT I said I'm struggling with
seeking EX internal validation which
passages should I read it gave me five
different passages I'm choosing
Galatians 1:10 and 1 Peter 3 3: 4 so I'm
just going to write it in my journal I
said passages to study going to write it
down and then use What's called the soap
method I will talk to you guys about
what the soap method is cuz that is how
I've been currently studying the Bible
we have my handy dandy Bible I really
like this Bible but I will probably be
getting a new Bible soon because when I
was a little dulu I wrote seek peace on
it and it looks like like a
communist I don't know it's like red and
yellow it was giving China so I think
I'll be getting a new Bible before I get
off to college but the thing is this
Bible has so many of my notes and
annotations and I don't really want to
get rid of it so I'll definitely keep it
but I think I want to start off fresh
with a new Bible Galatians 1:10 says for
am I now seeking the approval of man or
of God or am I trying to please man if I
were still trying to please man I would
not be a servant of Christ and in the
context of this verse I think what it
means means is Paul pretty much wants to
preach the gospel and in order to preach
the gospel to the fullest extent or to
his best efforts he needs to not
prioritize the voice and external
opinions of mankind but to prioritize
the thoughts and approval of God and
although in my struggle with seeking
external validation it's not necessarily
about preaching the gospel although that
can be something I worry about like oh
how will others perceive me if I talk
about my faith that's definitely a valid
issue although there's usually a
specific context for Bible verse it does
not mean that we can't apply it to our
modern day and our current issues
because I do believe that the Bible is
Spirit inspired and that when we read it
and pray for understanding it can apply
to our current situations so I think for
me how I interpret this is that it's
impossible to please God when our
priorities are first to please man right
when you think about a hierarchy of
priorities if I'm trying to get external
validation from others much more than
I'm looking for validation from God
that's just creating an imbalance that's
impossible to please god with so this is
really convicting I don't please God
when I'm seeking other people's
validation I think it's very natural to
seek external validation and I don't
think it's necessarily A Bad Thing to
desire external validation because as
humans one of our core desires is to
feel accepted but I think once I start
seeking validation from others above
seeking validation from God I think
that's when it gets unhealthy and right
now I'm definitely not balanced very
well so what I like to do sometimes when
I read a Bible verse and I want to learn
more about it I literally just go on to
YouTube and I search up the Bible verse
so right now I'm going to search it up
on YouTube Galatians 1:10 and see what
other people have to say about it and
let me explain what the soap method is
so s o a p s stands for scripture so I
read the piece of scripture and then
what my youth pastor told me is to write
down that piece of scripture because
when you write it down I think it
demands that you focus more on each
individual word so right now I'm going
to write down the
verse I just WR down the piece of
scripture that is s and then o stands
for observation so you just make notes
of things You observe and then in this
verse I observe that it's saying am I
now seeking the approval of man what's
the definition of seek when I study the
Bible I searched up a lot of definitions
seek definition so seek means to attempt
or desire to obtain something I think
for me I want to appreciate validation
from others in other words I don't want
to chase it I've also been really
curious so one of my my friends told me
you can't look for love love has to find
you I want to see if there's anything to
biblically back that up cuz I'm
wondering should we not seek validation
because validation is supposed to find
us one of my favorite sites when I have
like biblical questions is got
questions.org I'm going to read through
this and take some notes and let you
guys know what I
learned I just finished taking my notes
so let me tell you guys what I learned
we can have romance without real love
and we can have love without feeling
romantic romance is acceptable and
pleasing to God according to the Song of
Solomon which is like the most romantic
book in the Bible but love can be an
addictive feeling romance can either be
negative or positive depending on
whether we let those emotions rule our
lives and instead of pursuing romance we
should pursue the holy spirit's leading
in our relationships see how I literally
got on a tangent that's why I love the
soap method because when you make
certain observations it can also lead to
little side quests to learn more about
the passage so I'd say like literally it
helps you take one verse and then learn
so much more about what the Bible says
because of your observations of that
verse the second part of the verse says
if I were still trying to please man I
would not be a servant of Christ now I'm
thinking what does it mean to be a
servant of Christ application is making
notes on how the verse changes your
everyday life how it changes the way you
walk talk and care of yourself this
one's hard cuz how can I practically
apply not seeking validation from others
oh okay I think this is a practical note
with seeking male validation if I find
myself
sending a message or interacting with
the intention of gaining validation I
need to take a pause and reconsidered
another application point I could
potentially see myself writing down is
like seek validation from God I don't
even know what that means y'all in this
Bible study I think my biggest takeaway
is I need to come up with a list of
questions I have and like berate my
youth pastor about it so I'm actually
going to start that list of questions
right now in this journal that actually
my youth past got for me I'm having
lunch soon with my youth pastor I'm L
just going to bring my notebook and like
list off all my questions I just
finished the application step obviously
I'm going to talk to my youth pastor and
actually get more instruction on how I
apply that and then the last step of
soap is prayer PE so prayer is when you
pray over that verse and you're praying
that God will help you through the Holy
Spirit to apply it in your life so I'll
give you guys an example prayer that i'
pray in my Bible study dear God I just
confess that I've been seeking
validation and seeking love in all the
wrong places I pray that your Holy
Spirit would enter my life that I'd be
able to see myself as worthy that I'd be
able to see myself through your eyes I
pray that you would give me the
self-control and discipline to apply
when I'm learning through your verse
that when I find myself trying to seek
validation from someone that I should
take a pause and really question my
motives I pray that You' teach me what
it means to seek validation from you I'm
open to hearing your voice so continue
to speak to me today in jesus' name amen
that was our last step and now I'm going
to repeat that whole process for 1 Peter
3: 4 I'll see you guys after that and
I'll show you a little bit of my
notebook so that if you want to pause
the video and take a look at it you can
