Outlines
π£ Minecraft Fishing and AFK Farm Changes
This paragraph discusses the changes in Minecraft's fishing mechanics, particularly the reduction in effectiveness of AFK fish farms designed before the 1.16 update. Mojang has altered the loot system, requiring a 5x5x2 block area of open water for treasure loot, making traditional AFK fish farms less reliable. The script also introduces a new player transport method: crawling, which can be activated using trapdoors or pistons, allowing for creative uses such as secret bases and tight space mining.
π¨ Mining Techniques and New Mob Mechanics
The script explains the new mining levels in Minecraft, with level 8 being a general mining spot and level -58 being optimal for diamonds, redstone, gold, and iron. It also covers the change from strip mining at level 12 to the new system. Additionally, it introduces the new mob mechanics, including the removal of phantoms by using beds without sleeping and the glow squid's utility for crafting glowing item frames and signs. Villager trading mechanics are also updated, allowing players to cycle through trades by breaking and replacing workstations.
π³ Netherwood and Environmental Updates
This section covers the addition of netherwood and its fireproof properties, making it ideal for building around lava in both the Overworld and the Nether. It also discusses the new mob, the piglin, and how wearing gold armor can prevent them from attacking. The script introduces the concept of the zooming feature through the use of a spyglass, the wither mob's new ability to drop wither roses, and the addition of netherwood as a new type of wood since the 1.7 update.
π‘ Minecraft Quality of Life Improvements
The final paragraph highlights several quality of life improvements in Minecraft. It mentions the changes to TNT, which now drops experience and blocks destroyed in explosions. The introduction of the campfire for free cooking, the chest boat for transporting items over water, and the update to birch trees affecting lighting mechanics are also covered. The paragraph concludes with the addition of beds to the Nether through the Respawn Anchor, a new block for setting respawn points, and a warning about the dangers of the Warden in ancient cities.

AFK fish farms have been nerfed and now require a 5x5x2 block area of open water for treasure loot.
New crawling mechanic: use a trapdoor or a piston to enter crawl mode, useful for accessing small spaces and secret bases.
Strip mining is no longer effective at level 12; mine at level 8 for general ores and level -58 for diamonds.
Barrels are more efficient than chests, saving one plank per storage unit and offering unique placement advantages.
Pillager outposts now include three key features: pillagers with banners, goat horns, and the new Allay mob.
Phantom mobs can be avoided by right-clicking a bed without sleeping, resetting the phantom spawn timer.
Glow squids provide glow ink used for crafting glow item frames and making signs glow.
Villager trades can be reset by breaking and replacing their workstation, allowing for desired trade selection.
The zombified piglin replaced the zombie pigman, with gold armor preventing piglin aggression.
The spyglass allows for zooming in on distant objects, replicating the Optifine zoom feature.
Wither roses are dropped by mobs killed by the wither and can be farmed using fish buckets.
Nether wood, both crimson and warped, is fireproof and suitable for building near lava.
Light level mechanics changed; mobs now spawn only at light level zero, reducing the need for frequent torch placement.
Large ore veins of iron and copper can be found in conjunction with tough and granite blocks, respectively.
Beds can be used in the Nether with the respawn anchor, crafted from crying obsidian and glowstone.
Transcripts
if you're just getting back into
minecraft after a long time of not
playing there are a lot of new features
and mechanics you should know about and
i'll show a bunch of them right now
first one is that mojing has purposely
removed the power of afk fish farms so
for instance a setup like this and
basically any afk fish firm that was
designed before 1.16
now they do of course work as you saw
there i just caught a fish i don't mean
they don't work to get you fish but
really most people don't use afk fish
firms for food of course you usually use
them for the treasure loot and
unfortunately the ability to get
treasure loot from afk fishing has been
removed because there is a new
requirement to get treasure loot which
is you need a five by five by two block
area of open water
so for instance basically from where
your bobber is it has to go out three
blocks counting that in every direction
which would be five with that being in
the middle so like one two three four
five and then two blocks below that so
that block and the one below that and if
that is all open water then you will get
treasure loot but if it's not then you
won't and because of the way that afk
fish farms work
there is unfortunately no way to make a
really reliable fish farm they they'll
give you tons of loot with those new
mechanics however something that has
been added is a method for transport
that is not walking running or jumping
or flying with elytra and that is you
can now crawl so if you get yourself a
trapdoor and go under it and then flick
it up like that it'll basically force
you into crawl mode but if you don't
want to use a trapdoor you can also use
something that's a little bit more funny
which is a piston put a lever on the
side of it and that will go down like
that let's say we're underneath it and
we flick this it'll push us into the
crawling position so it basically just
makes us go right down into that and
there's a lot of amazing uses for this
new mechanic including some like for
instance you can mine in a one block
space or you could even have a secret
base so here we'll go into crawl mode
we'll go through this small tunnel and
once we go to the end of it we have our
little base here with maybe our chest
and our bed and then you can flick this
open again to go out of this small crawl
hole to get back and so definitely
having crawling in the game is great and
you might not have known that that's
been added minecraft's underground and
the past versions have had a lot of
amazingly large changes and i'll
certainly not go into all of that but
one fundamental thing you definitely
should know is that strip mining at
level 12 the old stand by level to mine
at which was basically in the game since
the beta days all the way up to 1.18 is
now gone there's now two other levels
you want to mine at instead of that the
first one is eight and if you're mining
at level eight you can basically have
access to any ore in the game just a lot
of them in very small amounts however if
you want to have the best level to mine
diamonds at as well as redstone and also
some gold and some iron this is
definitely what most people will be
mining at as most players will be mining
mostly for diamonds you'll want to do
that at level negative 58 but the actual
format of setting up a mine with tunnels
with every two blocks in between is
still the same you just want to do that
at level 8 and level negative 58. if
you're just starting to gather supplies
for the first base in your world
something i would suggest doing is to
not make chests now obviously this may
seem weird making chests is a very
important thing to setting up face but
the thing about chests is it uses eight
planks that's also basically the same as
two logs and that gives you one chest
but to get the exact same amount of
storage space make yourself some slabs
then with a slab on the top and the slab
on the bottom and planks on either side
you can make a barrel you can see here
you're saving yourself one plank which
doesn't seem like a lot but the barrel
actually has a lot of functionalities
the chest doesn't so for instance the
barrel can be opened from any angle but
because of that as well you can place it
with a block above it a structure you
should know a lot about because there's
three new features surrounding it is the
pillager outpost now these generate in
the overworld in the same places where
villages can
and there's three important features to
them the first is the pillagers that
spawn at them and sometimes there'll be
a pillager with a banner on its head and
if you kill that you can actually
trigger a raid now if you kill this
pillager right here you can see there is
the banner what will happen is we'll
have that battlement effect as well as
the advancement of voluntary exile
that'll make it so that if we enter into
a village a raid will trigger which is
basically a whole bunch of pillagers
trying to kill your villagers and you
can also see these guys sometimes
wandering around a world in a pillager
patrol what you need to know is all you
have to do to get rid of this is just to
drink a bucket of milk the second thing
about the pillow drought post is
sometimes in them is a goat horn these
can drop off goats but you can find them
here as well and they have amazing sound
to them so for instance this one is sort
of like an interesting trumpet call
and the third thing you want to know
about the pillager outpost is that the
new la mob will generate in it this mob
was added in 1.19 and if you give an
item it'll be tamed to you trying to
find more of those items in the ground
now in minecraft 1.13 they added the
phantom these things will kill you if
you don't sleep for three nights and
obviously you want to avoid this
dangerous mob what you can do is you can
right click on your bed get in it for a
second but do not sleep all the way
through the night and just that will
make it so that the next night when it
comes you will not have any phantoms
spawn for another three nights so if you
want to do a bunch of mob farming every
night or maybe going out and hunting
some slimes or something like this where
you want it to stay dark and you do not
want to bother with having to fight the
phantoms just right click on there and
then you'll be good for another three
days whether you sleep or not as long as
you get into bed for at least a split
second if you're swimming around and
happen to see something underwater
that's glowing that's probably the glow
squid mob and there are some uses to
this mob you may not know about so if
you go down and kill them and when you
hurt them you'll notice their glow
disappears probably as a sort of natural
camouflage idea and these will generally
generate in groups and underwater caves
anything that's basically dark and
underwater but not inside of the ocean
biome itself so there are two uses to
the glow ink the first one is to craft
glow item frames you can see there the
item frame plus that gives us the glow
item frame and if we put an item in
there it will be illuminated at night or
when it's dark the second use is when
you're putting down a sign
and let's say we just type something
there then if we right click on this
with the glow ink sock that will turn
into being glowing we'll get the
advancement glow and behold and both
these items really shine the brightest
when it's nighttime because you can see
here the sign that is really illuminated
even from far away and with the glow
item frame here as well you can see just
how glowy that is and how the item
itself there is basically at the full
brightness that it can be a villager
mechanic you should know about is that
villagers are not locked into their
trades immediately so if you find a
villager you don't like the trades of
and you haven't traded with it yet just
break its workstation and you can kind
of tell us its workstation because its
trade will go away when you break it
then place it back down it will reattach
to that at some point fairly quickly or
maybe a different one will and you can
see it has different trades and if we
don't like that we can break that its
trade will be removed we can place it
back down again and when a new villager
picks up that trade you can see that its
trades are once again different this
works with every villager just break and
replace their workstation to cycle
through their trades until you find the
ones you want and of course this also
works with librarian villagers to get
yourself a mending book from any
villager just as soon as you've traded
with it once those trades are locked in
forever the zombie pigman is gone
forever in minecraft and of course you
may know this already but something you
may not know is that that was the only
time in all the history of the game that
they had fully removed a mob you may
think the zombified piglen is the same
and although it is similar it's quite a
bit different as its piglin counterpart
was never there before and the piglet is
certainly not called the pig man and
speaking of piglens and you'll
definitely find these a lot in the
updated nether all you have to do to not
be killed by them is to wear a piece of
gold armor it can be literally any piece
of gold armor and they will eventually
become passive to you once you are
wearing it this can be boots leggings
chest plate or helmet doesn't matter and
you can also barter with these by giving
them gold and they will give you some
nether items and other interesting items
back the zooming in feature of the
optifine mod has been added to minecraft
and also if you play on bedrock there is
now a way to zoom in on there as well
just make a spyglass with two copper
ingots and one amethyst shard these are
found in amethyst geodes and copper
spawns very frequently in the overworld
then with the spyglass right click while
it's in your hand and you can zoom in to
something that's far away and really see
it in much better detail you can
maximize this effect by changing your
fov to be very zoomed in then you can
see even further away and also if you
want to have the full optifine zoom type
experience where you simply right click
and you can see something close then
press f1 so that your entire ui
disappears and you can zoom in so that's
a great feature to zoom in and out and
is also perfect if you want to become a
pirate the wither mob has been somewhat
upgraded in its use if you summon in a
wither it will now have a new benefit
that it'll give to you so any mob that
the wither kills will drop a new item
and that item is the wither rose if you
want to farm this item what you can do
is get a bunch of fish and buckets place
them around the wither and then when the
weather explodes all those fish will
drop you tons and tons of wither roses
now the way these items work is they
look sort of like a rose and basically
when you go over it it will give you the
wither effect for what looks like about
two seconds
and that is the wither effect so you
could die from these these are really
useful for mob farms and also just for a
cool decoration maybe if you're making
something spooky and they're definitely
the rarest flower to get in the game and
also the first one to be added for a
long time with a deadly twist to them
definitely something you would not
expect from a flower something you
should also know is that nether wood has
been added you may already know this but
its functionality is something you may
not know because both the crimson and
the warped netherwood also known as
netherfungus warped fungus and the
actual wood blocks are called stems
these are completely fireproof in the
overworld and in the nether so you can
place these next to lava you can place
these in lava you can place these around
fire you could even have a dispenser
with fire charges shooting straight
towards these and they would not burn or
catch on fire and so these blocks are
perfect for not only building in the
nether but also for building in the
overworld if you want to let's say have
some wood type blocks around some place
that has lava the newest update to the
game 1.19 has added mangrove wood
because the netherwood is technically a
type of fungus it's not actually a wood
item although it does function and look
like one
and so this is technically the first new
type of wood to be added since the 2013
1.7 update and because of that it is a
pretty big deal the mangrove wood has a
rather pretty texture to it and can be
made into a bunch of different things
like you would with normal wood it does
function the exact same as normal wood
it's definitely not fireproof although
it does grow in a swamp so you think
it'd be kind of filled with water but
it's not so it still does burn and this
log is a little bit hard to get because
the mangrove swamp is somewhat rare and
as well as that the mangrove trees grow
in such a way that it can be difficult
to get the wood its door variant looks
really cool and also the trapdoors have
this really interesting circular texture
to them birches have been fundamentally
changed in fact all lighting has and
this is something you certainly need to
know about what you probably assume is
that the old mechanic of light level 7
or under being what will stop mobs is
still part of the game but that is not
true and that's actually a really great
thing because now to have mobs stop
spawning in the overworld all you have
to do is have it not be at light level
zero so as long as a block isn't at the
darkest level that it can be then you
are completely fine and this equals out
to wanting to have 12 blocks between
every single torch and that is to spawn
proof a 3d space that is flat so of
course in certain scenarios you might
want that to be a little bit closer if
you have some really big slopes like
here so the distance between torches if
you're strip mining this is if they're
on the side of the wall not on the
bottom here is 24 blocks apart so one
torch then from that torch we would
start counting not counting here one all
the way over here to 24 and after we've
counted the 24th block right here on the
25th we would place another torch and as
you can see in the middle here it does
go down to light level one but it never
goes down to light level zero something
really important you should know about
mining is the giant copper and giant
iron veins if you happen to see a large
amount of tough that is this new sort of
gray looking block next to a bunch of
iron ore in the deep slate layer which
is also this dark looking block right
here
and that will be a giant raw iron vein
and these can have massive amounts of
iron blocks literally thousands and
thousands of them in a huge pattern and
if you just follow around a cave with
one of these you'll notice here there's
a bunch over here there's a bunch of it
that just continues on into other caves
surrounding it in a really really large
piece of generation there's even a
chance of getting a block of nine of the
raw iron and so if you find one of these
it is a really good way of getting
yourself iron ore also with copper ore
the same thing can happen just this
block would be granite and this would be
the copper ore something that sounds
fake although it's absolutely true is
that beds have been added to the nether
at least in a sense they have and of
course usually using beds in the nether
they'll explode but there's now another
bed if we get six pieces of crying
obsidian you'll get this from bartering
with piglens that is throwing them gold
and put three on the top and three on
the bottom of the crafting grid with
three glowstone in the middle that will
give us the respawn anchor which is
functionally another bed even using it
in the overworld it'll explode
and so if we place this down and right
click on it with glowstone four times we
can charge it up all the way and then if
we right click on it again that will
have our respawn point be set there
although of course we can only charge it
with one piece of glowstone if you want
to what happens if we die in the nether
in the overworld or anywhere is we
respawn at the respawn anchor and one
piece of that glowstone charge is taken
away so every piece of glowstone gives
you one successful respawn one of the
oldest and most loved and hated blocks
in minecraft is tnt
and this has been upgraded in the past
couple updates
so first of all if tnt is ignited by the
player so for instance not by redstone
but if you go up to it yourself and
ignite it any blocks it destroys it
would usually drop experience will also
drop experience you can see here we have
all the experience from those whereas
previously you wouldn't get any
experience but they've also been
upgraded in a different way that makes
them be truly useful and that is the
fact that they will drop 100 of the
blocks that they break so if we explode
this piece of tnt here we won't just get
a couple blocks breaking so for instance
oftentimes when like a creeper will
explode you won't have enough dirt
blocks to repair the hole with tnt that
isn't the case you can see from those
two explosions there i have over a stack
and a half of dirt blocks unfortunately
the creeper explosions still do not drop
all the blocks but the tnt explosions do
just be aware tnt explosion can destroy
items and so basically if you have a
single piece of tnt go off you're good
but if you have a secondary piece
explode what will happen is that
explosion will destroy the items that
the first explosion dropped the campfire
is incredibly useful crafted with logs
of any type with three at the bottom of
the table there and then sticks in a
pattern with that with coal in the
middle that'll give you a campfire if
you place a piece of sole sand or sole
soil in the crafting table instead that
will give you a soul campfire and both
of these have a lot of amazing uses so
you can cook things on there for free
with no extra fuel needed just right
click on them and those will sit on
there cook for a bit and eventually
they'll pop off and there's even a cool
smoke effect coming from them showing
that they are cooking also actual smoke
particles do come off of here making a
really great smoke effect unlike the old
way of using let's say some cobwebs if
you place a hay bale underneath there it
will make the distance that the smoke
travels above it be way higher although
of course you can't see it because it's
underneath there and if you want these
to stop cooking just right click on them
with a shovel and that will put out the
fire there you can make it go back with
a flint and steel just right click on
that again but you'll notice those items
just stay on there and they will forever
making a great way to store items you
can relight that though a long requested
feature that's finally been added is the
chest boat and you should definitely
utilize these if you put a boat in a
chest anywhere in the crafting grid
because it's a shapeless recipe you will
get yourself the dark oak boat with
chest if it's dark oak wood or any other
type of but with chest depending on that
and these work basically how you'd
expect you place it on the water you can
press e to access the inventory with it
if you're outside of it and you shift
and right click you can also access the
inventory and because the boat is in the
back there of course you cannot have a
second passenger that would sort of be
on top of the chest there and the last
thing you should definitely know if
you're just getting back into minecraft
is if you're mining deep underground and
you happen to stumble upon a strange
looking ancient city underground be very
careful with these because if you upset
one of these shriekers or the sensors
and the sensors will send signals to the
shriekers then you will have a warden
summon in so you can try and break these
although sometimes that doesn't work as
often times these signals will transfer
over to a different shrieker now if you
do walk on top of wool this will be
protected you'll notice we got the
darkness effect though and everything
around us is very hard to see you can
also just crouch and if you're crouching
the skulk sensors will not sense you
unless you're on top of them just be
incredibly aware as on the fourth shriek
of the shrieker a warden will summon in
which is more or less instant death
unless you're incredibly careful and for
almost everything i've discussed in this
video i have guides on it i have an
ultimate guide playlist and there's an
icard on the screen right now about that
if you want to learn more about the game
especially if you're getting back into
it anyway i hope you enjoyed this video
and good luck if you're just getting
back into minecraft
